Satellite P100 - recovery disk no longer works after you start

Hi, I tried to use the disk recovery toshiba last night and it did not work. He worked twice before.

The laptop starts with the cd drive and says it's loading ramdisk Image. It then loads the image and request that if I want to add a SCSI controller, before I can say anything he says 'Please wait', and then restarts the computer and re-trys the previous steps.

A that someone has experienced this problem? Can anyone offer advice?

I hope someone can help

Ben

Hi Ben

Sorry, but I'm a little confused. You wrote about Microsoft CD or DVD recovery facilities you have with your laptop?

I ask this question because, as far as I know, by its use of origin designed Toshiba recovery image the user should not get much just recovery procedure without adding any controllers or similar stuff.

After getting some annoying adware that I couldn't get rid of, I decided to format my hard drive and my notebook back to factory... something that I couldn't do.

First of all, I inserted the disc, and in no way I couldn't take. I tried to run on the start menu, I browsed the records and sought some sort of file that would open up the normal Wizard... etc... nothing... I rebooted to see if it would start... nothing...

I went into the setup (f2) and asked him to initialize the disk. He then says "Loading ram disk image" with a progress bar... the bar ends, the screen empties and that restarts, get to the same point and restarts continuously.

I found this thread with a guy with exactly the same problem here:

He described his solution, but I have no idea what he's talking about.

I got this 'product Recovery DVD-ROM' and no other discs. I can't get into windows, I can only get f2 and the parameters it and watch it to restart... I can't do anything with it at all.

    Hello

I checked the link in your ad, and the other person started the laptop with the Linux Boot CD to format and delete partitions on HARD drive integers.

I recommend to do the same thing. Delete the partitions and format the drive HARD and then try to recover the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD supplied.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A50 - recovery disk is not working

    Hello

I'm trying to do a clean install on my laptop, but the recovery disk is not working.
The files transferred to the laptop, but once done, I get an error message that says: "the system is not fully installed. Please run Setup again."

Does anyone have suggestions as to how to fix it?

It took me four days to get to this point and make me very frustrated.

    Thanks heaps

    Naomi

    Hello

What is the installation using another CD; That is to say the Microsoft Windows XP disk?
    Have you tried that?

In my opinion, this would help to pinpoint the problem
The error message can be linked to different issues; I mean the HARD drive or a single partition problem could also be possible.

Try to format the drive HARD whole again. Delete all partitions from the HARD drive and check if you can proceed with the installation.

But if you will not be able to install the OS by using the recovery disk and other disks then a question must relate to a part of the material. (possibly HDD)

  • Satellite A100-811 - sound no longer work after reinstallation of the system

I recently bought this type of laptop. After about 2 installations of windows from the recovery cd unit... I keep having the same problem:
I encounter problems or difficulties with some audio applications... especially mp3 running for example in winamp (all versions of winamp). I also tried to reinstall the audio driver to install a newer version... the same problem: I have heard a few small glitches while listening to the song... I should also mention that all this happened independently of the CPU usage... my last solution in my head is to change my antivirus. I use a version of ZONE ALARM antivirus... someone heard something about this antivirus to give the same problems... Thanks for giving me a notice. Thank you

    Hello

No, I don't think that the noise issue relates to all Anti Viurus applications.
I read on an audio glitch similar problem on a Satellite P100.
The BIOS update and an update driver sound has solved these problems

I put t know if it will help you but you can check for this possibility
A question: is the laptop uses a Realteck sound card chip?

If Yes, visit the Web to Realtek website and install the latest driver from this site. Eventually, it helps.

  • For Satellite L450 recovery disk does not work

My laptop's daughter was so slow, that we decided to take it back to factory settings. There is no disk recovery with the laptop because it has the repair work however when we did the computer is no longer started upward and when we started it in safe mode, the repair option was gone!

I've then went to Toshiba.eu and bought the recovery disc, seem to work, load files etc and then says loading windows, but the screen just goes black.

I can't find a phone number or contact point on the invoice and if I will have to consider in a shop to repair I don t want to have paid for both disks that do not work!

I do something wrong or can any one help?

    Thank you

New laptops are available with preinstalled operating system and without recovery disk but in user s manual is clearly described that you can create this preinstalled software recovery disk Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

I m wondering really you didn't mark this option.

In any case, try to reuse this disc to see if the problem occurs again and again. If you will not be able to install the original recovery image I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite L30 shortcuts keyboard no longer work after upgrading XP it-> XP Pro

    Hello

I recently bought the Satellite L30 laptop computer with Windows XP preinstalled. I decided to upgrade to XP Professional and I did it by installation upgrade.
Everything works fine, except for the Toshiba Hotkeys utility. A combination of keys Fn + function, but there is no picture (message) on the screen, and some do not work. The keys F1, F2, F3, F4, a F8 does not work for you. FN + Esc (silent) and F6 F7 (light) work quite ok. But still, even if a button work, the message is displayed.

I did the same instance on Satellite A110 and everything worked well.

I tried to reinstall the keyboard shortcut, but it is not possible. It is not listed in Add/Remove programs and the installation of TOOLSCD files crashes without message. In the event viewer, I can find information of Msiexec, syaing this config to access keys failed.
The above behavior is the same when I restored it original XP installation there. Then of course, the shortcut keys work, but it is impossible to uninstall or reinstall.

I tried to uninstall most of the Toshiba Utilities, but it did not help.

Does anyone have an idea how to make keyboard shortcuts work on XP Pro (upgrade of the IT)?
I have the only possibility would be to install XP Pro (have not yet tried), that is - anyone know how to install Office OneNote, on new installation? It is included in XP it and I can't find it in TOOLSCD, and I find it very useful, so I prefer to have on this machine.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Kind regards

As far as I know there are two different models of laptops L30. The difference is apparent with the number PSLXXX. Are you sure that you downloaded the good stuff from Toshiba for your laptop model?

BTW: when the laptop to factory settings, you are able to create own Tools & Utilities CD. This CD can be used for each installation of additional operating system. There is no difference between House of WXP or WXP Pro. All the drivers, tools, and utilities are the same. It is just important to all install in order good facilities.

    All that s!

  • Satellite L300-11V - Internet does not work after you remove software

    Hello

Internet my brother no longer works. We believe that it is because he took off a bunch of software/programs to free up space.

He said that the problem is
... "There are problems of hardware or driver with the network card"Realtek RTL8101 Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)"on this computer".

Can someone please tell me how to solve this problem, or what to download?

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L300D-11V

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy

This error message is that you need to reinstall the driver for the network card. You can get this driver on Toshiba page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If you have installed the latest version of what the Internet should work again! :)

  • Satellite P100-119: display no longer works

    Hi all

After resetting my phone and install the printer driver for the Epson homepage suddenly my screen image was strange looking. I decided to start the new laptop. But the display did not turn on either. Just the LED lights that surround it were black kept on-screen

Try all to find a button for ignition and extinction of the screen has introduced the small result the display worked again for a few days and then all of a sudden with a new start over the same problem. I decided to connect it with an external display and to open the BIOS. I managed to start the windows safe and try to renew all the drivers.

Suddenly the external display is turned off and turned back on the computer screen. I restarted the laptop without external screen and everything was ok - but only until the next day - now the problem is ongoing and I can just start with an external display in security mode.

Maybe one of you knows the problem or can even help me. I would bring her to a service, but at the moment I don't have a lot of money to buy a new one or even fix it. At least, it would be good to know, in case, what would be the cost of repairs...

Thank you very much to all those who answer

    Hello

To me it looks a bit a graphics chip is malfunctioning.
These behaviors are typical of the GPU issues.

But have you tried to install a fresh windows OS?
It would be interesting to know if this would be possible.

  • Satellite P100-386 - screen does not work after replacing

    Hello

my laptop fell and the screen was broken.
So I bought a new screen from ebay.
The new screen happened and when I changed it was on mode 'sleep' and that it worked fine, but when I restarted it, the screen didn't show anything and blacklit light worked...

    Anyone know why?
    Is this a bios problem?
    What should I do?

    My laptop is a p100-386
My old screen was LP171WX2 A4K7
My new one is LP171WP4 TLB5

    > The new screen arrived and when I changed it was on mode 'sleep' and that it has worked well.

Does that mean exactly? Did you replaced the screen while the laptop was in Standby Mode?

If only the internal screen would be affected so you should be able to see something (home Toshiba BIOS screen) on the external monitor
Can you connect the external monitor (2nd) to the laptop in order to check this?

I am somehow at the end of my ideas...

    Can anyone help!

When I start a program (for example. Sonos controller) on my laptop my mouse pointer stops working. It does not happen with all programs!

This problem happens using the touchpad only or have you noticed the freezing of cursor using the external USB mouse too?

What is the notebooks touchpad works properly without loading and using this 3rd party software?
For example, work the touchpad with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, etc.) or navigation in internet by using IE or Chrome?

My guess is that the pre-installed 3rd application part could affect the functionality of the touchpad.

  • Click of the mouse stops working after you start the first application

Hard to explain this problem.  First time I click on what either in an application after computer startup (Word, Excel, etc.) the arrow of the mouse moves, but the click does not, anywhere, not on the desktop, taskbar anywhere.  Accentuates not delayed anything either.  But when I press ctrl-alt-delete, move the arrow down to start the Task Manager and click here, then click Start to work and things get even once highlighted and everything seems normal.  HP Pavilion dv9000t Vista Home Premium 32-bit Intel Core 2 duo, 2 GHz, 2GBDDR, this is going on for about 6 months now.  I just noticed, I installed a trackball logitek, and after installation, it does the same thing.
