Satellite P105-S6157 running on the battery if the AC is plugged

I don't know what kind of my toshiba laptop model is whereas I posted about it here.
In any case, last night, I noticed that even when the laptop is plugged in, he was still working on the battery.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting everything and even by restarting the computer.

Anyone have any idea what can be done to fix this?

Are you sure that the laptop is running on battery, while the AC is plugged?
How did you check that?

Have you noticed that the battery power decreases when the laptop is always connected to AC?

What about the adapter? Is this ok?

Perhaps the adapter a malfunction and must be replaced

  • Satellite R630 - fan runs all the time

    Hello everyone,

I have a Satellite R630, and I'm happy with it. But there is one thing that makes me angry... the fan! It runs ALL the time. I browse a little... the fan works. I work with the office, or something... the fan works. To clarify: the CPU is not used, there is no heavy processes running, and the Notebook\CPU is cool. There is no reason why the fan should work, all the laptops that I had before where calm in the same situations. Of course it is not a problem if it starts working if necessary (a game, looking for a HD video or something). But not without reason!

Someone at - it a solution for this problem? A tool to fix the fan speed\intervals manually, or better: an update of the bios (in the version 1.4 and 1.5 I can choose what I want... the fan did not stop execution). It is also quiet in Linux or any other operating system.

@Toshiba: (!) Please do something. The only solution for me right now is to return the laptop to the store. :-(

    Best regards

    Hello

Hmm... If you have already installed the latest BIOS updates, you should check the cooling of Windows Power management settings. Generally you can switch between different methods of cooling as you can read here:

  • What can I do to make the Satellite A665-S6086 run with the new memory?

I was able to update the BIOS for my Satellite A665-S6086 by updating 2.30 on CD burning. I have Windows 7 64 bit. I needed to update the BIOS, because I upgraded my RAM/memory of 2 GB (4 GB total) two cards two cards of 4 GB (8 GB total).

My question now is when I start my computer with the new RAM/memory (two cards that are KTT-S3BS / 4G Kingston DDR3 1333 MHZ SODIMM SGL RANK), it freezes on the screen from Windows startup. Then when I hold the power button to shut it down and restart it, it wants to start using Windows repair but then crashes again. When I put in the memory of the old man and he start up, it starts the Windows repair and runs normally.

What can I do to make my computer run with the new memory?

I thank very you much in advance!

    What you can do?
Buy an another RAM modules that are fully compatible with the laptop.
It seems that you want to use the RAM modules which are not totally compatible and therefore the system hangs.

By the way: the CPU that is used in this notebook runs the DDR3-800 and DDR3-1066
    RAM modules.

I would not recommend to use the modules of DDR3-1333 but PA3677U-1M4G 4 GB DDR3-1066

    Hello!

I put really know why this happened, but to be honest, in my opinion 15GB or 16GB are not enough for Vista!

On my second Toshiba laptop running Vista, I need 30 GB for Vista installation and all my programs. I n t installed many programs, only programs that I use really (desktop, Skype, ICQ, Photoshop, AntiVir, VideoLAN, etc.) and those 30 GB are only for programs not data! I stored my documents, pictures, etc. on the second partition.

So in my opinion you should have at least 40 GB for Vista. If this isn't the case, you must upgrade the HARD drive.

  • Satellite P105 carpet * a dvd player does not work with Win 7

    Greetings,

I need an upgrade on my dvd to my vintage Satellite P105.
I want the possible fastest dvd burner right now because I'm a fan of film and keep them in digital memory.

    (1) first should I get an external drive or can I get the best performance with an internal dvd replacement of a reseller of parts or Toshiba?

The problem is when I've upgraded to windows 7 things have changed. I lost my sound, but that solved using a driver inherited Visa as apparently the sound 'Council' on the laptop is for Vista only. Then I found the dvd player which is a mitsu * an internal UJ-450 does not or is extremely slow in saving films, records or files. The available recording software seems also planned for Vista performance was acceptable. Even the dvd burning software does not work.

    (2) so my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?

    (3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or

    (4) to make the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?

    (5) given an internal dvd is preferable, because it's exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.

    (6) most importantly, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

Of course, if you could give me a model number and direct me to the sales it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    > 1) first of all I should go for an external drive or can I get optimal performance with a dvd replacement internal to a coin dealer or Toshiba?

You should know that not all internal STRANGE machines are compatible. You will need to use a not compatible and supported and such device could be ordered in a local ASP.
But it s more expensive as an external CD/DVD device so you could also choose an external that would be compatible with all computers and laptops available.

(> 2) so, my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?
As mentioned. Good option would be to buy an external burner drive ODD

(> 3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or
External device are compatible with all computers and are less expensive

(> 4) go to the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?
If you have the money for an internal device and want to use it with P105 only then you can also choose an internal burner.

(> 5) because a dvd internal is preferable, because it is exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.
As far as I know it s an IDE interface, but the device would support setting master or slave or c - salt. As mentioned, you can buy a Toshiba a recommended.

(> 6) especially, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

    Hi padi.

    This s really strange question...

Theoretically, it could be a hardware malfunction or software/driver problem. In a first step, I would reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.

  • Satellite L500-1KK - how to the maximum battery time?

    Hello

    1. it is indicated on the product specifications L500-1kk expected autonomy is about 03:20 Hrs use mobile brand! However, I was using my laptop for almost a year now, the maximum battery time I get is 02:15 Hrs, whenever I load my mobile suit, the battery still bar program shows me this maximum time remaining! I use the default power settings!

    2. most intriguing, is that my sister used another laptop, its battery is approximately the same capacity that mine, around 43200 mWh, us both using Windows 7 Ultimate (she 32bits, I, 64-bit version), but its battery time is at least 4.5 Hrs. Why is this, and how I would maximize my battery time!

    3. Finally, her laptop is new (4 months, yet battery pro program shows that the battery wear rate is 7%, my laptop is almost a year and it shows a wear rate of 1.3%, I use mostly my laptop while the power is plugged in, unplugged rarely!) Is their an explanation to the different rates of wear?

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, I think a battery about 02:15 hours is good and I think that everything is ok with your laptop. My new Satellite A500 I also only 2.5 hours if I running on battery, sometimes less than 2 hours or less. That s always according to the applications you run.

    > 2. More intriguing, is that my sister used another laptop, its battery is approximately the same capacity as mine, around 43200 mWh, we're both using Windows 7 Ultimate (she 32bits, I, 64-bit version), but its battery time is at least 4.5 Hrs. Well, it s the same you compare two cars with the same ch from different manufactures a car's fuel consumption higher than the other car, even it have the same hp. Why? Well, the different manufacturers using different parts: other tires, gears, weight, dray of air, etc.

You can compare two identical notebooks or cars from the manufacturing even to find a problem, but * not * from different manufacturers. ;)

    Hello

    > Current display driver: Mobile Intel (r) Express ChipSet Family 945GM
And then you want to install a nVidia display driver?
    LOL :D

I think that you can not install a nVidia display driver because your laptop is equipped with an Intel chipset and graphics card.
You will never be able to install nVidia display driver and thus make the message that you do not have the correct material.

Intel and nVidia graphics cards graphics cards are different things, so don't mix do not!
Some P105 was equipped with nVidia cards and others with Intel card and it seems that you have an Intel card.

  • Satellite M35X-S329: discharge of battery if the AC is plugged

    Hello world

I need help in solving this problem with my laptop. I have Toshiba Satellite M35X - S329 laptop. I am having some problems with the battery. It's here.

    (1) battery discharges even power, the supply current is connected to the laptop. This causes the laptop to close after 2/3 hours when the battery discharge completely. He even begins to give alarm messages as soon as the battery power drops below 10% (this corresponds to the current setting).
If the power supply is connected the battery should not unload the power and the laptop shouldn't off after 3 hours (as the AC power is connected).
If the laptop is off battery is recharged with the same AC power.

I am not able to understand where is the problem

If the problem comes from the power running, then the battery is not recharged with the same power supply and power cord.
If the battery is the problem then it must be not able to load and unload.
Why the battery power when the laptop is connected to the power supply current.

I'm doing something wrong. do I set all the settings or update the BIOS or replace the battery or AC power cards. Please help me.

    Kind regards
    JK.

Note: when the power supply is connected the headlights before (AC light and the light) shines green and the battery light turns off. When the laptop is turned off when the battery goes to Orange indicating that its loading.

    Hello

According to your description it s not a bad battery and not an AC adapter because it will charge the battery if the laptop is turned off.
Well, for me it looks like something wrong with the electronics on the motherboard.
But that is only my suggestion. To be 100% sure, some diagnostic tests are necessary.
This is why I would recommend asking the Toshiba service partner in your country for help.

  • Express the Media Player (EMP) recovery disk - satellite P105-S6024

I have a problem with my on my new machine satellite P105-6024 express Media Player software.

As I bought it, everything works fine. But then, I did the partitions on my HARD drive and I instaled all the software recovery disc. And everything looks earlier and work properly but Express Media Center. It seems that it is not installed. I found the special Express Media Player restore disk but I don't know how to use it. (I am a novice complite). As I knew EMP is a linux-like software and it is not visible in Windows. And I know that there was a small special partition dedicated to this application. This partition has been deleted. And I'm not sure that it is possible to install EMP once more on my laptop. How can I use the EMP recovery disk? If I just run in the windows environment I see just a few files - but their execution, nothing is happen. I'd appreciate a small manual.

Thank you very much in advance

    Hello

I found this on the web:

Installation Guide step by step for Express Media Player and Windows XP Recovery on two partitions in Expert mode:

    (1) all DATA on HARD drive will BE DESTROYED IRREVERSABLY (it's serious!)
    (2) install Express Media Player:
Boot from the recovery Express Media Player CD
--> use [delete all Partitions] (can be on the left side of the menu for older versions of reader).
THIS ERASES THE ENTIRE HARD DRIVE!
    (3) boot with the Windows XP Recovery CD, go to expert mode and exit the "TOSHIBA Recovery Tool" (version OEM Ghost) using menuitem "Quit."
    (4) you can use fdisk.exe or gdisk.exe - I'll show the syntax here gdisk
(its easier to describe and there are a lot of descriptions for FDISK on the net)
    (5) now, we create two partitions (size of 50%: 50%-playersize).
--> At the DOS prompt, type:
    Gdisk 1 /cre /pri /sz:50%-> creates a primary partition 1
    Gdisk 1 /cre /ext-> creates an extended partition 2
    Gdisk 1/log /cre-> creates a 2nd logical partition
    Gdisk 1/p:1-> partionion set 1 active /act
    (6) now reboot with Windows XP Recovery CD, go to expert mode
    (7) menu use: Local\Partition\From Image, choose image GHO menu
    (8) there should only be ONE partition available source:
1 primary DiskLoad NTFS 07...-> pick this one!
    (9) Select destination disk (there are also only one)
    1 basic...-> pick this one!
    (10) now you need to choose the destination partition - there should be three to choose!
    (11) select:
1 primary 0C Fat32 without name...-->! BE SURE TO CHOOSE THIS ONE!
    (12) to confirm that you want to write on this partition
"(13)" TOSHIBA Recovery Tool "is unpack and install the operating system
    (14) subsequently Windows XP and Media Player Express are installed

Hope this will help you. Good luck!

    Good bye
