Satellite P200-1 b 6: Sound Driver update fails, and HD-DVD player does not work

I just bought a laptop Satellite P200-1 b 6 and spent the day installing the updates recommended by the TEMPO programme. One of them was an update of RealTek audio driver but on run this it fails at about 80% of the way through with an error: "install Realtek HD Audio Driver failure!

Now, the reader of HD DVD, Toshiba will fail with an error "unable to output the video to an external device.

Please change your display keys of the device by pressing the Fn + F5 after the end of the application "." I tried this but it seems to have no effect.

I'm now regretting starting to update the drivers installed. Should I try to rebuild the machine using the recovery discs or is there another solution that someone found? Or if others have found the upgrade work?

All advice welcome

Hello

When I started using PC, one of my friends told me something: do not touch the well-executed system. I know that you, like so many other people out there, have updated things but as you can see, it can go in the wrong direction.

This TEMPO software is good, but if all goes well the leave it as it is. What you can try is to use the System Restore tool and move the BONES to earlier time and hope everything will be OK again.

Please post the result.

    Hi all
First of all, apologize for my English, I'm french :)

So my problem is that I would like to re - install everything on an A45-S250 using the recovery CD.
But the main problem is that the internal DVD player no longer exists.

I try plugging in an external DVD drive, but the laptop won't start on it.

I have seen that it can start with a disk, lan or SD card drive. But with opportunities of theses, how power reinstall everything include in the recovery CD?

I may have a usb floppy drive, so I'll be able to boot from a bootable disk. but then how to start the process of recovery CD?
I will prefer to use the recovery as a home standart WinXP CD, because I know that the OEM series will not work in an original version of Windows XP...

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello Kubs

I see only one solution: you have to somehow use external DVD player and make it visible to your laptop. I try didn t, but I guess you need to start your laptop using WXP startdisc and load the MS-DOS driver for external device.
If you will have success to access external hard drive I guess that you will be able to start the recovery procedure.

  • Satellite P25-S520 - DVD player does not work properly

Difficulty of DVD player or buy the external drive

My DVD player does not work properly, in fact it can never work properly. Recently, I tried to back up my PC on a DVD using Norton 360. Norton did not recognize that the DVD was present. Then I tried to write a text file on a DVD and was a failure. DVD + R and DVD-R media were found to be (Maxwell 16 X).

I could have probably lived with this however, I received a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 on a CD and my Toshiba would not recognize it. I tried the CD in my laptop nearby and it was recognized.

An attempt to update the driver has also fails.

I was able to copy a CD of music last night so that at least works properly.

Does anyone know how can I fix? The important part is to be able to load my new program.

Research on some forums I found that other people have had problems with the Pioneer drive. If the drive can't be fixed, I'm not adverse to buying an external DVD drive. Unfortunately, where I live there is no brick and mortar stores selling external drives and I prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can someone suggest an external USB drive that will read and write CD and DVD and is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?

Any external USB CD/DVD drive will be compatible with your laptop.

So, your best option would be to replace the internal drive with a Toshiba drive designed for the laptop. Call an ASP and request a quote.

  • Satellite P105 carpet * a dvd player does not work with Win 7

    Greetings,

I need an upgrade on my dvd to my vintage Satellite P105.
I want the possible fastest dvd burner right now because I'm a fan of film and keep them in digital memory.

    (1) first should I get an external drive or can I get the best performance with an internal dvd replacement of a reseller of parts or Toshiba?

The problem is when I've upgraded to windows 7 things have changed. I lost my sound, but that solved using a driver inherited Visa as apparently the sound 'Council' on the laptop is for Vista only. Then I found the dvd player which is a mitsu * an internal UJ-450 does not or is extremely slow in saving films, records or files. The available recording software seems also planned for Vista performance was acceptable. Even the dvd burning software does not work.

    (2) so my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?

    (3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or

    (4) to make the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?

    (5) given an internal dvd is preferable, because it's exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.

    (6) most importantly, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

Of course, if you could give me a model number and direct me to the sales it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    > 1) first of all I should go for an external drive or can I get optimal performance with a dvd replacement internal to a coin dealer or Toshiba?

You should know that not all internal STRANGE machines are compatible. You will need to use a not compatible and supported and such device could be ordered in a local ASP.
But it s more expensive as an external CD/DVD device so you could also choose an external that would be compatible with all computers and laptops available.

(> 2) so, my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?
As mentioned. Good option would be to buy an external burner drive ODD

(> 3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or
External device are compatible with all computers and are less expensive

(> 4) go to the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?
If you have the money for an internal device and want to use it with P105 only then you can also choose an internal burner.

(> 5) because a dvd internal is preferable, because it is exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.
As far as I know it s an IDE interface, but the device would support setting master or slave or c - salt. As mentioned, you can buy a Toshiba a recommended.

(> 6) especially, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

I am a Satellite L300D-11V and the driver on the CD does not work. I think is not the right driver and an update of Windows could have messed up.
Anyone know where I can download the correct driver for the DVD player for Vista? Or solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Mounira.

    Hello!

I put t understand why you need a CD/DVD driver or tell you the driver does not work.

The CD/DVD driver for the reader is part of Windows. You don't need one and should not install a new or something else. When you have problems with the drive, it s not the driver, it s another issue.

Now have yellow marks in the Device Manager and can use the drive? On the right, a right click on the drive and select uninstall. Restart your laptop, and the driver should be installed automatically.

    Good bye

    Hello

You need to remove the upper and lower registry filters.
But before doing so, please remove the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager.

Then start the registry (regedit) and then remove the filters above and below this key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Then restart the laptop

  • Satellite L750D/L755D - its integrated and DVD player does not work.

    Hey

First of all I have no idea where to post this.
Beside that, I'm clueless about take you over the page. (which lets you choose the computer laptop/build/etc etc)
    So here I am

    I have a Toshiba - Satellite-L750D/L755D

He came Pentecost 7 windows, but after a lot of trouble, and since I hate windows 7 more then any other OS.
I bought windows 8, which is now upgraded to 8.1 the last update as you know.
Since the same beginning whit windows 7 built-in speakers not work as they should.
And small piece I want to say at the start that they have worked... BUT for 5-10 sec, then it just stopt.

But the strange part of it is if I connect a sound box the sound works perfectly and does not either.
I'm not an expert in the field. but since I grew up whit it I know a little bit about it.

I think it's something whit drivers that are corrupt or don't work well together.
Now search across the web around trying to find a solution but not done whit no progress at all.
You may think different, but I think that this Web site is the worst of all. lol sorry I have to be true.

He asks what kind of satellite I what I know but who is not in the list, anywhere!
Then try to find the right driver which is probably need is a little impossible.
Next to this no disc drive of mine no longer works.

No matter what or what disc I put in, after all he'll say that there is no disk or the disk is empty.
And no, this isn't the issue because if I put in another laptop / pc, it works very well.
I'm getting a little tired of it because I paid more than 700 euros for this laptop.
To know that I could use it properly for 3 months, after that it started to happen.
I'm still paying every month for this laptop, which is unusable at all.

Why? because I had no sound, and the reason I bought a laptop from Pentecost 8 GB of ram is for games.
Now to do games come whit a disc, if your laptop can not read you wasted more money. (new)

I really need help whit this and hope I am on the right place for it.
Because I'm on the point just throw it out the window.

If you want to know more information ask around. I give you everything I know.
But also didn't really know what to write here, next to the problems I faced.
    .
Oh yes before I forget, I tried to get the drivers whit me serial nr.
And guess what? It does not exist! And no, I'm not stupid, that's good.

    Help, please!

    Theo

    Hi Theo

At first, I want to clarify one important fact: it is user community.
I guess you did not however, I want to help you provide essential information.

First of all some ideas concerning the problem of CD/DVD drive:
As you probably know that the lens of the laser s internal drive is important to read or write data on the disk (CD or DVD). In case this laser lens is dirty or would not calibrate properly, the disc could not be treated properly.

I m also an owner of some different notebooks and I had the same problem in the past. I could fix it by cleaning the laser lens using cotton tip and liquid alcohol. I was not very difficult to clean the lens, and after this procedure simply the disc can be read correctly.
I recommend you to clean the laser lens and verify if it would help to address this problem.

    Regarding the sound issue:
You have posted some info on the series of the laptop but I put t know which model of laptop you have exactly: Satellite L750D-xxx
It would be interesting to know which model you have exactly.

In any case, always is, and the problem could be related to software or hardware problems.
Software problems could be solved by putting the laptop back to factory settings (using the procedure of recovery, Recovery disk). Of course, this would mean that you would get the Win 7 OS on the laptop and your personal data would be deleted. So save the data if it is important for you.

Of course it would be also desirable to reinstall the audio driver.
The Toshiba UE driver page provides all the drivers for the laptop Toshiba EU models
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Since most of the Satellite L750D-xxx models use the same sound chip, you can choose any series L750D for the right audio driver.
Note: the audio driver should be removed (uninstalled) before beginning the installation of the new driver.
This could be done in the Device Manager.

  • Carpet * Combo DVD player does not work on Satellite M30X

I have a Satellite M30X with a combo DVD player.
My drive I ve formatted, then I installed the readers on the recovery cd and one existing on the toshiba web site and the reader to continue to not be able to write on DVD´s.

    The installed drive is: mast * a DVD-ram UJ - 831 s.

I used to be able to write all kinds of DVD.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Armando

    Hello

    > I then installed readers on the recovery cd and one existing on the toshiba web site
Do you mean the DVD-RAM driver?

As far as I know using DVD-RAM disks in the DVD MULTI drive, data can be written so that the function to write data on discs CD-R/RW standard Windows XP is enabled.

Then please check if the check CD option activate called this roll
    CD / DVD-> properties-> recording tab
    is enabled or disabled

By the way; After using the recovery CD, you don't need to install additional drivers. The restore CD contains all the necessary drivers including an important run Notepad correctly.

Hello, yesterday I downloaded a new driver for Toshiba DVD player (only had the laptop a week or two).

Now when I try to play a DVD it tells me "unable to output the video to an external device. Please change your display device by pressing the Fn + F5 keys after the end of the application"

Now, I closed the dvd and then did as he said with the Fn + F5 keys, but this seems to get me nowhere. It appears the laptop and the lcd screen icons are highlighted.

    Any suggestions please?

    Hi mate,

It seems that the pilot has some sort of problems. What you might try is to restore the system to a previous restore point.
With luck, you could play your DVD´s again with the player from Toshiba, but I suggest you wait for the next update, maybe they will fix this problem.

You can also use the "VideoLan" drive which is freeware and probably one of the best available players that can play almost all formats. If you want to try the drive, then just go here-> www.videolan.org/

Otherwise, you can perform a restore, use the Toshiba DVD player and wait until toshiba released a new update that works...

  • On the Satellite L650-12Z DVD player does not work

(this is posted on the US forums who sent me here)

    Hello.

I have a bit of a problem with my portable DVD player. If I put a DVD in there, he turns and runs for 2 minutes, but he made nothing read (read: I do not hear the lens engine).

Now, in this age of digital distribution, it is less a problem then it used to be, but it is still a bit boring.
It is also not a question relating to the OS because when I try to boot from a DVD of Windows 7 it also does not work.

It is out of warranty, so I can't send it to cost me money.

    Thanks in advance.

It looks like a hardware problem of the optic disc.
In some cases it is only a matter of laser lenses, could you fix this by cleaning up that part.

I cleaned the lens laser alcohol or cotton tip.
Some people recommended this and in my case it helped also.

Of course, this could be a solution only in case your laser lens is dirty.
