Satellite P200-16V - password required after BIOS update

Hello!

Recently I have updated my Bios because I had problems to install drivers after reinstalling vista. I read on this forum that the update of the bios was the solution, but when I updated my bios, I got in the big sleep problems. When I start my computer a password is required. Never set up a password and I don't know where to find it.

I'm the original owner of my laptop, so I do not know whence this password came.

To me it seems very strange also. I never heard that the BIOS password appears automatically without any modification at the beginning.
But this is not the point. The point is to know how to get rid of this password.

Sylvain said that the ASP guy can remove it. A sound is able to do. Then contact the ASP in your country for assistance!

  • Satellite P200-P100 - black screen after an update of Windows 7

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite P200-P100 running Windows 7.
A few weeks ago after an update of Windows 7, my monitor would not show any image, that she lit up, but still no picture. Not even the BIOS it will appoint.

I fixed it by using the system restore using a different monitor. The same thing happened again today, I must have ran the same update, but this time a system restore does not, any more than to reinstall Win 7.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you
    Spre3

    Hello

You mean you don't see anything about internal or external monitor, even switching of the output of the screen by pressing the FN + F5 buttons?
Hmm. in my opinion has nothing to do with the Windows 7 update

I mean the update/install of Win 7 OS should not affect the BIOS and you should be able to access the BIOS, even if no operating system is installed on the HARD drive!
So I guess the question could be linked to the question of the motherboard or some parts placed on the motherboard

    Have you tried that?
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
Then wait a little (1 hour) and then reconnect the two parts.
Then try to turn on the device

If this will not help the RAM modules must be verified.

  • Satellite M30-304 - strange questions after BIOS update

    Hi all

I updated my BIOS according to the good driver for Satellite M30. However, since this operation took the endless problems with screen and wireless card. Also the screen used to display flash BIOS only now them a Centrino, Centrino logo sometimes sometimes Mr. Pentium, I don't know that the version of BIOS is incorrect for my laptop. If I try to re - install the upgrade, it is said version already installed 1.7, so will not continue.

    1. is there a way to force the re - install the same version?
    2. someone can the upgrade me of the correct BIOS Setup for the model n ° PSM30E-0QKJ1-5U, I installed the version was 20070807154017

The history is quite interesting. AFAIK Centrino logo is there if the Centrino platform is in use.

    The Centrino platform consists of:
    an Intel Pentium M processor
a chipset Intel 855 of the series
    an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 or later 2200 (IEEE 802 11 b) mini-PCI wireless adapter

If a component is removed (Intel PRO/Wireless mini-PCI wireless adapter) the Centrino logo will disappear. I don't really know why logo is from time to time, but you did the right BIOS update. There is no other for your laptop model.

Can you please tell me what is the problem with your wireless network adapter? You can use just sporadically or what?

  • Satellite L650 - Touchpad turn off after BIOS update

    Hello
    I recently got a new laptop, a L650-1CN,.
I run different types of software from Toshiba, and one of them is Tempro,
He shows me messages when a new update is available.

Today I saw the message that a new BIOS update v.1.80 was available.
I downloaded and installed. After installing my laptop closed. Then I started again.
But after a few minutes, I noticed that my touchpad disable itself more.
I usually use a logitech wireless mouse.

Now, I wonder if I should do a system restore and not install this update of the BIOS or find another solution for this problem. Because it's really boring.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

Usually the touchpad disable automatically if an external mouse is connected, but only if you enable this option in the touchpad settings.

I also use an external Logitech mouse and have enabled this option. You can find it in Control Panel > mouse. Go to the device settings tab and mark the internal pointing device option disable when the external USB pointing device is attached.

    I hope it works :)

Is now SP1 for Vista installed?

I ask this question because I got message on Vista updates and SP1 was who listed there. I'm afraid, it can have a negative influence on the good OS and I'm quite skeptical about it. For now, Toshiba does not support Vista with SP1.

  • Satellite A660 - boot problems USB after BIOS update

    Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite A660 and have recently updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.80). Since then, the laptop freezes on the splash screen (the one with the Toshiba logo) whenever a USB flash memory is attached.
It works without the memory flash connected and if I connect it after I enter the starting or the BIOS Setup menu. I can even start her like that.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a serious regression. Is there a way I can downgrade to the version of the BIOS, or any other way to solve this problem? I rely heavily on external USB drives.

    Kind regards
    Claudiu.

    Claudiu salvation,

That is really interesting, I have to say so I tested on my new Satellite A660 and Transcend 4 GB USB Stick. Well, I also installed 1.80 BIOS but I can t view this problem HARD drive is set as first boot device and all the other BIOS settings are default. The Toshiba screen and Windows computer starts as usual.
    No problem at all!

Have you tested different USB devices?

In General, it is not possible to downgrade BIOS. It is possible to an authorized service because Toshiba on page you can download the latest version only but I doubt it s a bug in the new version of BIOS because it works on my A660.

  • Satellite A105 shift stop working after BIOS update

I have a stack of boards of laptop of the A105 (Intel chipset) series that I received with the wrong BIOS. Both worked, and I updated the BIOS on them to solve CPU compatibility issues. After that, the shift keys stopped working and pressing Shift-A causes the power led to decrease in intensity. Return to ANY BIOS version, either by the Windows, CD or floppy disk of crisis recovery program (magic key is 'F', not 'B', 'Esc' or 'U'), does not solve the problem of the keyboard.

To make things more confusing, I've noticed that single BIOS one that actually seems to correct the problem is version 1.50, which I have not seen available for any Tecra A7 or Satellite A100/A105, with the exception of a few 100, but the BIOS file is too small and cannot be loaded.

Anyone has an idea why these cards Intel processor do that? Or did someone knows where I can get a usable version of BIOS 1.50?

In the interest of this post, please consider my high level of competence. (In other words, I would be grateful for the people trying to help 'Replace the keyboard', but I have about a dozen keyboards, that everything I tried, and all work on other laptops. In addition, if you have just a theoretical solution, I'm certainly open to hearing. In addition, if a Toshiba tech would answer, I really appreciate it!)

An update, it seems that the laptop from a different manufacture series show almost the same problem. There are certainly similarities of BIOS, since these Toshiba use the magic key to Fujitsu to trigger the block to start recovery from the crisis. I guess it's very likely that this problem is specifically a problem of Phoenix BIOS.

  • Satellite A50 does not work after BIOS update

    Hi all
I tried to Flash my BIOS through windows such as recommended on my website of the manufacturer of the laptop (Toshiba). I guess that the process was not as after only 2 hours still "don't interrupt" message displayed. I had to force power off of my PC. Now it is not initialized.
The Laptio is Toshiba SA50-114, series of satellites. Model n - PSA50E

I tried the suggestions in the following link
    http://askiris.Toshiba.com/ToshibaSu...200%2035586212
    However, it did not work.

However, I don't have the disk recovery and file/ROM BIOS tool. Have tried to search on the internet, but without any result.

    Can someone help me please
    1. How can I update the BIOS to get my PC to running back.

    2. to turn towards links where I can find the files in the link above.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards
    Parag

    > 1. How can I update the BIOS to get my PC to running back.
Not possible if your ROM BIOS module was bad flashed.
If you are a lucky man only the ROM module must be flashed again using a special procedure. But this can be done by a service provider authorized in your country.

    > 2. Point me to the links where I can find the files in the link above.
There is no link! You need to ask to help ASP.

    Good bye

  • Satellite C850 - slow fan speed after BIOS update

    Hello

So I have my bios Satellite C850-PSKCEV update version 6.80 (I bought my laptop in 2012), about 6 months ago and since then the fan turns at low speed and will never run full speed as before, and therefore, the laptop overheats prematurely and very quickly and even when the laptop is not in use but market it overheat also game isn't possible as any game that I run (even with the smaller settings) Gets a drop in fps every 5 seconds and lasts for 5-10 seconds that makes even the lightest unplayable games, also I have fear of the continuous overheating of components of the laptop.

I clean the fan and vents the dust and there is not even a particle inside of them and still the fan will not run fast and I can't feel but very slight air flow from the orifice as apposed to tough before this problem.

Laptop model Toshiba Satellite Ref. C850-A811 PSKCEV-00S00FAR
    Intel Core i5 2450 m - AMD Radeon Hd m 7670
    8.1 Windows 64-bit

After updating the BIOS, you should enter the BIOS and should load the default settings.

In addition, you can try to decrease the max CPU to 98-99% performance.

This can be done in the settings mentioned by Liam and to be honest, this change would not really affect the performance of the laptops.

  • Satellite C660D (PSC1YE) black screen after BIOS update

I tried to update my Bios on my Satellite C660D portable (psc1YE) last week (big mistake).

Something went wrong during the update and now when I power on I just get a black screen (LEDS and fan).

After reviewing, the conclusion is that I damaged the BIOS that must now be blind flashed.
So I got the hand on a 512MB memory stick, formatted using FAT through windows XP and used Wincris to create a startup disk after you have added the file bios.rom (renamed Bios.wph) which I extracted the last update of the BIOS on the Toshiba site.

My memory stick has three visible files on it, Phlash16.exe, bios.wph and minidos.
I plug laptop with battery, DVD player and power disconnected to stick, and hold Fn + B re-connection cable cable, turn it on.

The fan whirs at full speed, and the USB lights up and flashes then for a minute, as if being read. No matter how long I let on, the fan will continue whirring and the USB is on and when I unplug and put in still works a black screen.

I tried different sticks, (up to 4 GB with FAT32 format), programs of different startup (for example, the HP utility) drive but still no luck.

Can someone tell me what I do wrong? I tried to look for a newer version of Phlash16 just in case that was the problem, but can not find one any where (mine is version 2008)

All advice would be greatly appreciated even if it's just to tell me that I'm wasting my time because the pc is not repairable.

I can't tell you if you waste your time or not because I n know if the motherboard ROM module is OK or not

In most cases, it should be possible to reflash the ROM module using the BIOS crisis disk but this disc is available to authorized Toshiba service technicians and as much as I know reflash this methods is not always the same

However, in some cases it might be possible that the mobo could not be fixed by disk crisis, it would be the worst case

I recommend you to contact a certified maintainer Toshiba to check guys would be able to use the crisis disk and could test whether its possible to reflash the module ROM
Is it not would be not possible well in this case you would need new motherboard :(
But lets hope do ' t you need...
