Satellite P200 - 1FC - CD/DVD does not read discs
I have a Satellite P200 - 1FC ' CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632D ATA Device will not read CDs or DVDs and do not respond. Device Manager shows that this device does not work correctly.
Can you please help?
Hello!
Try to remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD, and then restart the laptop. It work?
If this isn't the case, you should try to remove the upper and lower filters:
(1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.
Good bye

CD/DVD does not read discs on Pavilion G6 2293SA laptop computer running Windows 8 :(
Hey there
I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this.
I bought the G6 Pavilion in November last year. When I got home I went to a recognize (as recommended) recovery disks but the laptop there is a blank disc in the drive. I tried a couple of different brands, but nothing worked and I got to the PC world. They couldn't work out what the problem was if gave me a replacement, and exactly the same thing happened. They claimed that it was probably one of the "many problems with window 8'. Finally, I tried some Sony DVD - R discs and it worked (hooray!).
However, since that time the player rarely works properly. It seems to work ok program disks, but don't like them burn all discs. It has never worked through iTunes, for a few days, it let me burn some discs of music with Cyberlink Power2Go but it no longer works.
Sometimes when I go hard disk it will say there is no disk in it (when it exists) or is it in use? We'll see what he does today... OK, Virgin (Sony CD - RW) drive... the hard disk is whirring... but nothing happens on the screen. OK, navigate to my computer... Double-click the icon and it says: "How do you use this disk" and gives me two options: "as a USB' or 'player with a CD/DVD '. However, it only allows me to choose the first option (which I don't) and even if I click ok on the flash drive option, it says that the drive must be formatted, mess around trying to do for about 10 minutes and then says format failed.
Can anyone suggest anything? PC World that it is a software problem and my problem (thank you guys). Really grateful for any help.
See you soon
Paul
I suggest using the corresponding update firmware in the driver download section. Who looks more like a problem of hardware/firmware for me. Use Device Manager to select the firmware update software good optical disc. If the firmware update does not resolve the problem, thencontact HPfor warranty repair.

Hi Luis
This can really be a problem with the hardware of the CD/DVD drive
Maybe the ODD died and only replacement players will help you.But as Akuma already said, you must contact the ASP for and check.
Guys should be able to provide clarification, perhaps there is a little chance for fixing without replacement.Good luck

Satellite P200 - 1FC: CD/DVD player won't start - error Code 10
My Satellite P200 - 1FC was purchased in January 2008 and preloaded with Vista Home Premium. The DVD/CD drive is listed in the device as "TSST corp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device" Manager.
Initially, the drive worked perfectly, but recently refused to start. Device Manager it shows now with a yellow exclamation point and its status is given as "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ».
By clicking on 'could not load driver software' product solutions but not solution.
The search for similar issues in the forums of users suggests that use of a page of Microsoft Support Help & directed "the CD-ROM drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista".
However it is to change the registry! As a relative novice, I am reluctant to do unless I can find no easier way.
Should I bite the bullet and and enter into this minefield, or is there a better way?
> At first the car worked perfectly, but recently refused to start. Device Manager it shows now with a yellow exclamation point and its status is given as "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ».
Certainly, this error is caused by an incorrect registry entry.
I had this error several times and I solved this disassembly of these registry keys upper and lower filters:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Here are a few steps how it worked on my Windows system;
-J' removed the Device Manager CD/DVD drive
-Then edited the registry as described above
-Restarting the laptopI'm sure that this will also help you.

Re: Satellite P200 - 1FC - what DVD burners are compatible
Toshiba Satellite P200 - 1FC - need advice as what to buy to replace the dvd burner that does not burn.
So is going to replace.Thank you ricky
Hello
You need a compatible because different master/slave/c-salt settings.
I m not very well what drives could be supported, but in my user manual which was preinstalled on my laptop (unfortunately not P200) I could find a list of compatible drives. Maybe your manual contains a similar listBut if you won't find details of compatible media in you manual user then you may contact the service provider allowed in your country and could order these ODD.

CD/DVD drive does not read discs on Equium A100
My cd/dvd drive does not read any discs be it, white, written or commercially written. It opens and closes and is light to show that he is working on. Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning properly.
Tried the update of drivers, no update available. Tried restoring the system back 1 day and 1 week and 1 month, then and still the problem cannot be corrected. When I put a cd/dvd in the drive and try to access it, it says: D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
Can someone help me I tried everything my friends and I can think, or is it better to send just to toshiba warranty.
If the solution proposed by James will not help, you should try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager.
After phone restart the operating system will recognize and initialize the disk again.
After this review of the procedure if you can read, write the middle. -
The CD/DVD drive does not read discs
Hi, I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ40 with optiarc DVD RW AD - 7561 ATA Device driver, recently the drive does not work properly. It can read and burn the disc, that I already used, but when it's a new (disc white) it does not read the disc. It has an error message "make sure that the disc uses a format windows recognizes. If the drive is not formatted, you must format it before you use it. "the disc is the format that would recognize the system. I tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled from the Device Manager, but nothing works, tried too much microsoft fixit, always the same. Hope that there is another work around here... Thank you...
Have you tried using other burning software?
Try this free you see if you receive messages.

CD DVD does not read by the reader of cd/dvd from my PC
guys, my PC does not read DVD discs for a while now... tried troubleshooting several times but I keep getting a message that "the DVD/CD drive works properly".. .He video plays audio CDs and CD fine, it's just the DVD; It stops after spinning for like 2 seconds... that's Samsung R580... would appreciate any help I can get a pls.
Among the failures most common is the DVD/CD drive.
If yours is a laptop, the problem is the availability and price. It is an article of OEM available only from your PC manufacturer. Cost is probably about $100, but generally quite easy to install.
If yours is a desktop computer, the problem is easy to solve and low cost. About $20. Remove all power, press and hold the power switch IT for at least 7 seconds. Set on the side with the threads on the bottom. Take off the side. You may need to remove the front as well. The DVD player is held in place usually by 2 screws easily accessible. You must remove the 2 cables from the back. Remove the old one. Drag another in its place. Fix the two wires, they only fit one way. Equip the 2 screws. Replace the side and front on.
There is a simple alternative. It is a portable DVD player that connects to the computer via a USB cable. Some receive their power of this cable. He turns around $25 and is completely transferable from one computer to the other. Also small and light.

Satellite L870-14 x - CD/DVD does not read CD
I bought this Toshiba Satellite L870-14 portable x on 12 October and he's really starting to annoy me now.
I lost hours and hours trying to install my own content of the previous laptop. I have endless questions, trying to get the product key for MS Office 2010 to be accepted, and NOW I can't get the CD/DVD device to read any CD, including a CD for office 2007 as a stopgap.
Does anyone have the same problems as me or I just bought a laptop from Trash.
My heart is broken!
Thank you.Hello
Start from the beginning...
Turn on the device, press F8 and choose fix my computer.
Then choose HARD drive recovery. This procedure would fix the laptop back to factory settings.
It is important because in this case, you might check if material of your laptop is affected or is malfunctioning...
After the recovery procedure, everything should work properly. The CD/DVD drive should work fine, but in some very rare cases not all disks of all manufacturers of disc would be compatible... its always possible that some brands would not be handled properly.

(the fan is too loud, media keys do not work with another player WMP... I am not satisfied with this laptop)I am looking for the most possible to send me a copy of the DVD please.

Hello
Try copying this DVD of recovery on the other computer, and then try to boot from the burned DVD.
By the way; Media buttons can be use din WinAmp. You should enable the option in the settings of WinAmp. The fan is not strong and cooling parameters can be changed in the settings to save energy.
Here are some small tips ;) -
Satellite P200-144: Touchpad works does not after Microsoft Windows Update
Hello
I have a Satellite P200-144 and since I installed a new Synaptics driver provided for me through Windows Update the touchpad did not work.
I tried to roll back the driver, re - install a new installation of a driver Alps (as suggested by a messsage on board), but this has no effect. I tried to revert to a previous state of the system, but this fails to happen.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium that came with the noteboos when I bought a few months ago. I also went in the settings in the control panel and none of the settings work - help!
Someone has it has happen to them, or does anyone know of a fix for this?
Kind regards
Chris
Hello
a quick and efficient solution would be to backup your data on an external (DVD, USB - HDD, etc.) to recover your machine and then to AVOID such Windows updates, as this driver IS not native drivers from the manufacturer. Just install the drivers supplied by toshiba, since they act on your machine.
Unfortunately I have Don t have another solution for you, then it would be best to try this method and give a quick answer if it worked.
