Satellite P200 purchased in Australia lost recovery DVDs

I bought a computer laptop Satellite P200, Vista Home 32 bit, during a trip to Australia, in all my travels, I managed to lose my recovery DVD and now home to the United Kingdom, I need to run recovery due to corrupted Windows system files. When I try to order from Toshiba Europe site it tells me that I bought my laptop abroad, but when I visit the Australian site, there seems to be any method of ordering the recovery DVD, the only point of contact is applicable in Australia free phone number.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Original Toshiba recovery DVD can be ordered only in the country of purchase and what you can try is to contact the service provider allowed soma in Australia. I hope that they can order, but the question is whether they want to send to UK.

One last thing: do not use recovery DVD for installing the OS. You can get Microsoft DVD facilities and install Vista on your own. I am sure that all the drivers, tools and utilities for your model laptop you can find on the Australian support and download page under
http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au/71/live.dll/topic/content/driver_search.jsp?mode=NPRO&CATOID=-15058

If you want to do this alone and if you need assistance please let us know.

    Hello

I need to format my Satellite P200, but I have some difficulty. I lost the original disc that came with the laptop. I tried using the Recovery Disc Creator, but every time I run the application it I'm greeted by this error:

    An unexpected error has occurred.
Exit this application and start it again.

Have tried to reinstall, I just get the same error. What should I try next to the difficulty of the creator, or just the format differently?

    Hello

I'm not very well if the Satellite P200 was equipped with drive recovery procedure HARD but nevertheless it s m worth a try.

If the HDD recovery procedure is available on your P200, then you should see the Toshiba HDD recovery option in a new window as soon as you click on fix my computer.

Otherwise, you will need to order the Toshiba Recovery disk:

  • Satellite P200-RT2 - need help with recovery

I made a Boo-Boo and need advice/help to get things fixed.

My husband has a Satellite P200-RT2 running Win XP 32 bit (included with Vista, but had been upgraded). The battery needs to be replaced, does not load and he made the mistake to disconnect while it was closing, but had not closed completely. Laptop computer would not start even in Safe Mode.

So, I thought to try to insert a disc Win XP Pro thought, he would work to restart the computer and start again. No, he took over and completely restructured the laptop. If great, now have Win XP Pro on it, but can not load all Toshiba drivers that I downloaded from the Toshiba site.

I was not in a position to know if there is a specific order to load the drivers... have been reading and wonder if the BIOS should be the first?

Needless to say that the Toshiba recovery software went on the P200-RT2, I can't find a separate drive that supposedly it contains, there are only two listed drives, drive C and D (for DVDs).

Toshiba tells me that Microsoft sells the recovery software, MS told me that Toshiba sells. There are sites online that have the recovery disc for Vista I could buy or download, but I'm not sure on those that are reliable/safe.

Have to mention that I have a Toshiba laptop latest (L675 - 40 X, Win 7) and have the recovery disc for it.

Is it possible to use these recovery disks for Toshiba software loaded on the old P200-RT2?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

If I could get the XPPro to work, which would leave as OS... but I don't know where to find the drivers.

    Satellite P200 - RT2 PSPB0C is a Canadian model.

    Hello

Don t be afraid. Everything is ok.
The restore CD contains the ghost image files and it uses the files Windows 98 MS system to boot from the CD.
It is usual that the Win98 message during initialization.
In addition, the recovery CD formats and automatically remove the HARD drive.
You have only to boot from this CD and you select standard mode.

In this case the recovery CD is completely erase the HARD drive.

  • Re: Satellite P200 - TS - L802a Won't burn DVD on Windows 7

I have a Satellite P200. Due to the original HDD becomes full, I installed a new drive hard more - and installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it. I can't get my DVD burner to work (TS-L802a). The DVD player is fine because if I put the old hard drive back (Vista) it works perfectly. I have the 6.1.7601.17514 (TF32) firmware installed. I tried to upgrade to the WinVup2_L802A_RATO35 however the installer does not recognize that there is a DVD player - even if it will read DVDs without problem. It says update is not available and the Start button is grayed out.

I searched high and low for a solution and I'm out of ideas. Can anyone offer a solution please? Thanks in advance.

NB: I have not upgraded from Vista - I bought Windows 7 to install on new hard drive.

    Hey,.

    > even if it will read DVDs without problem
This means that DVD burning function is affected, but you can play DVDs without problem, right?

Well, this could be also related to the brand of DVD. This DVD you use for burning discs?
I m using the DVD - R Verbatim and TDK. The two brands works fine on my laptop.

What burning software do you use? Have you tried with CD Burner XP?

  • Re: Satellite P200 - 1 FT fully formatted, recovery

    Hello Forum Toshiba,

    I have a problem with my laptop (Satellite P200 - 1 '). I hope you can help me :-)

I want to sell my laptop and so I wanted to completely remove my all data on the hard drive. I used a tool called dban (http://www.dban.org) and it worked fine. After formatting, I wanted to restore Windows Vista by using the Toshiba recovery disc.

The problem is: when I boot the recovery cd, I can choose the language and the system to be installed (Windows Vista), but then, there are two cmd Windows, which displays an error:

I think that it was not a good idea to delete the partition X:\! ? And I think that there is a required Raid driver. Is this fair? What should I do now to recover Windows Vista?

    Please help me, thank you

    Hello

According to the error message in your first posting above (screenshots) disk HARD is not found because because the SATA driver is missing.
The laptop uses the SATA HDD controller and without a driver SATA HARD drive may not be recognized.

I put t how this 3rd part tool works, but the driver SATA is downloadable from the page of the Intel driver.
It s _Intel Manager_ of storage and the single SATA driver files located in the folder * 'F6flpy '. *

  • Satellite A100: Does not start a recovery DVDs

    Hi guys.
    First timer here.
I have read some of the Q & A on reboot problems the A100 since the recovery DVDs.
It seems I have the same problems as keith.

I want to start all over again the OS and my laptop does not start from the DVD.
Tried the standard f12 boot from cd option. tried her "hold C on the boot option.
Both options end with no joy.

The screen that says "loading ramdisk image", loads the machine breaks, asks me to wait, then every time the same thing.
The screen goes black, flashes very quickly and white and then loads from the hard disk as normal.

Now try to hold my frustration and do something radical.
I know that in the Q & A previous, the subject is considered as replied...
    other options?

My following thoughts are to delete/uninstall almost every thing and try and force the thing to boot from the DVD.
have also copied the dvd and tried to boot from the copy, always with no joy.

    Are there any other suggestions?

Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?

is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?

is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?

    see you soon,
    Martin

    Hello Martin

To be honest, it's pretty strange question. There is one thing I am interesting for:
Is - this first time, you try to use a recovery media for the installation of the OS?

If possible, try to get the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities to see if the same thing will happen.

In any case, I will try to give you answers to your questions.
    > Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and to start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?
It will not work. On the recovery of the media it is recovery image and this image must be installed correctly. You cannot "recover DVD in there. Not question

    > is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?
I would like to know what you understand under the 'essential processes?

    > Is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?
You can't do this somehow. If you want to 'reset' HARD drive, you must delete the existing partition or delete any OS installation. After having done that, you need to install new OS. All this will be done at the beginning of the recovery procedure.

I really don't understand what's wrong there. Please answer to my first question, and we will continue this discussion. ;)

  • Satellite L750 - 1 ML-creates false recovery DVDs?

I posted it somewhere else, butI think that this category is more relevant.

So, my recently bought L750 - 1 ML seems to have difficulties to produce a work recovery DVDs. Be a performance geek, just after I created the recovery DVD set (no problem was reported during the procedure) I tried to change the HARD disk of 640 GB for an 80 GB SSD. The recovery DVDs I have previously inserted in the DVD player started normally but after a while, he threw the following error:

    Copying F:\ZZImg\15157XSP2.swm to V:\HDDRecovery...
There is not enough space on the disk.
    0 file (s) copied.
ERROR: Failed to copy of splitpart or Canadian Red Cross!
    Press a key to continue...

My first attempt to overcome the problem was to create another Recovery DVD #1, but after repeating the process with the new, I got the same error.

So I have serious questions here: I paid for my Windows7 (included in the price of the laptop) and yet, it will last only to the point when my HARD drive fails?

It would be nice to get answer on this.

I searched the web for jurisprudence apparently and found these:
    http://www.axoloth.com/index.php/astuces/7-Toshiba-CRCS-error-lors-DUN-recovery
    http://www.forumschoixpc.com/viewtopic.php?topic=115983&Forum=6

    Thank you
    IVL

The error that says: there is not enough space on the disk.

Because you have turned on the 640 GB to 80 GB SSD HARD drive, I think that the question has something to do with the amount of available space on the SSD drive.

It would be interesting to know if you can perform Toshiba Recovery with the previous test of 640 GB HARD drive that I think that the recovery procedure will end well.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 how to use recovery DVD-ROM with vmware products

    Hello

I like to use the recovery DVDs of product (T201651-GR) of my Satelite Pro 6100 on VmWare player, because I use openSUSE Linux as main operating system (not Windows installed on the hard disk).
I do like install and save hard disk laptop, so that to restore later inside the vmware. If it works?
I wonder if someone can tell me how to use my legal version of Windows XP on VmWare player?

    Thank you in advance,
    Bernd

    Hello

I doubt that it works with VmWare.
    Why?
Because the restore CD contains the ghost image files and you will need to boot from the recovery CD for installation.

So I see the chances of getting this job running VmWare.

  • How to set the Satellite A100-596 to factory without Recovery DVD settings

I gave my young niece of my old laptop A100-596 for Christmas.
It worked perfectly on Christmas Eve I packed it upward, in packing of origin, but at the time my niece connected on it has lost 40 GB of data among the drives C and E - everything E drive and the dvd drive had stopped working!

Now, no one has any explanation for what is happening, nor any reason why a laptop that has performed flawlessly for 18 months would suddenly lose 3/4 of the data on it, but whatever!

So now I want to restore it to factory, but without a job settings dvd, how? I have all disks involved in perfect condition!
In addition, I want to fool proof so it can be retrieved in case the person or nothing damaged, this time he cannot repeat the action.

So I think that if I partition the hard drive so that the recovery of files is accessible by me with a password, which I will NOT share with any of the children, if they bumble once again, then I will be able to recover.

Moreover, even restoring the system files have disappeared, so I can't even it roll back to a working condition!

    Any advice?

    Hello

You wrote so much and I think it's the best we descuss all questions slowly.

I don't know what you mean under non-working DVDs. Is the drive defective optical drive or media DVD is not readable?

Anyway, the fact is that if you want to have the factory again settings you must install operating system using Toshiba DVD recovery. If you don't have it you can do clean OS installation using the Microsoft DVD facilities. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on the Toshiba support under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com page > support & downloads.

When you use recovery media Toshiba HARD whole disc will be erased. Absolutely everything. All data and partitions.
What you want to do with recovering data unfortunately will not work. You cannot copy the recovery image and start it from the other partitions. Not on Satellite A100.

On new A300, something like this is possible because the recovery image is stored on the second partition in folder HDDRecovery.

If you have any other questions please let us know.

  • Satellite A305-S6872 - lack of Vista recovery DVDs

I buy Satellite A305-S6872 months back now, I want to recover my laptop back to the factory setting. I have a virus problem...

But when I have I bought didn't find any CD/DVD recovery in the box. Computer laptop hasn t any recovery partition...
There is an option in the start menu to create the backup of the drivers and application...
Can someone tell me the solution? Is it possible to get this recovery CD/DVDs or download the image of this...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

New laptop models are supplied without recovery CD/DVDs. The recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and you must create a recovery only media. I don't know how it works on US, laptops, but it should be similar with the European specifications. This means, on your desktop, you will find a shortcut for Toshiba recovery disc creator. Use of high quality DVD-R and create recovery media.

Another option is to perform HARD drive recovery. To start press F8 for advanced boot option and check if there is option called repair my computer or something like that. Choose this option and simply follow the menu on the screen.

  • Satellite P200-1EE does not read HD DVD drive TS-L802A HD

I bought a P200-1EE of PC World and have found since that she has huge problems for reading HD DVDs via HD Toshiba DVD player software.

I bought the last movie of Harry Potter of Warner Brothers to test the drive. Player software launches (after recognizing the media) once I inserted the disc to hd, but it crashes then once he eventually tries to read the disc. I know that the drive is ok because it worked without any problem on the Xbox HD dvd player, and on about 60 attempts, he played twice!

The guys from PC World pulled a 1EE another P200 of their warehouse and after it is autoconfig he had the same problems, that is to say he ran the player then locked with a black screen (no error) and we finish the task the software does not respond.

I'm a little frustrated and can not find the Board of anywhere. I have updated the bios of laptop computers, but can not find updates the firmware for Player software or drive. The driver doesn'tseem to have updates or the other (version 6.0.6000.16386)

I have an exceptional appeal with Tosh but I hope someone else can have solved something similar.

I am also looking for support playing movies through the HDMI cable, if I can get the laptop working.

Thanks for your time my dear SIRS.

    Hello

You use the Toshiba HD DVD player?
If yes-> trying to update from Toshiba's HD DVD player with the update published on the Qosmio G30.
There is an update of this utility, and the original version must be installed to perform this update!

But please don t forget a fact; HD DVD technology is very recent, and not all movies have been designed with the same level.
Sometimes may occur that the player will manage all HD DVD.

Of course, you could try to test other HD DVD movies to ensure that equipment (HD-DVD player) is not defective
