Satellite P200D-139 - left CTRL key does not

Hello. I recently bought a new P200D-139 and have found that the left CTRL button does not work. For example, if I try to copy using CTRL + C, it does not. It is the way in which the keyboard is configured with these laptops or is it a problem of possible hardware/software?

All the tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the same laptop and CTRL + C works on the first day. The laptop with muss factory settings allow you to use this key combination.
It works with the right CTRL key?

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the keyboard?

    2. you did any software or hardware changes to the computer before the show?

Analysis of computer malware in order to solve the problem has been a very good start to get the problem resolved. I really appreciate your technical expertise.

Instead of using the physical keyboard to type and enter data, you can use the on-screen keyboard. On-screen keyboard displays a Visual keyboard with all the standard keys. You can select keys using the mouse or another pointing device, or you can use a unique key or a group of keys to scroll through the keys on the screen.

Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard)

  • Left Ctrl key does not

I have a Hp ProBook 450 G1 and all of a sudden my left ctrl has stopped working, everything else works fine. I tried the StickyKeys, restart/reboot, uninstall the keyboard and put it back in, but nothing works. I tried to use a screen keyboard too to see if it works, but it doesn't.

Probably the first sign of a faulty keyboard.  You'll probably have to replace it.  For a laptop, which requires qualified personnel and the RIGHT part. Check by connecting an external keyboard.  Use it at the moment.

  • CTRL key does not work as expected

    Original title: keyboard Help!

There is a recurring issue going on with my keyboard or very probably my pc...
Well first to start with - I use a software type "ventrilo" called "mumble" that uses the 'CTRL' key as a key to talk with others in the same precedente.* *-could be a reason
My CTRL key seems really screw randomly until that moment, it turn on sticky keys [where ctrl has practically been pressed permanently] even if it is not enabled on the settings... which makes it really difficult to browse web site or use games because I'm unable to type.
Even if I try to disable it by using the two keys ctrl - it does not turn off...
When I try to copy and paste using my CTRL key left it appears just under the letter c or v when I'm trying to do, but when I do it with my right ctrl - it is successful...
    * steam question *.
I use also a program called "steam" that allows me to talk with others and play some games - but the sticky keys seem to be really stuck on this issue, I am unable to do anything...
Whenever I press 'a' after that it is already used once - it will remove 2 characters: example: I type AGT-> and I press 'a' once more-> deletions G and T
or whenever I have press BACKSPACE at all during a conversation of steam, it deletes everything.
Urgent W on it also a tab or an im window closed on...
pressing V will paste what I had copied at all, and finally pressing z would substitute a letter - for example: za-> type z once more-> towers to zz
I hope you understand what I'm talking... help? Thank you...

    Hello Kent,

Let us make sure that this isn't a keyboard problem. Connect a different keyboard to see if the CTRL key is working.  If it works fine, then it is a problem of faulty device. You may need to replace the driver.

If this does not work on the new keyboard, then it must be a setting in the software that you have installed that is causing this problem.

As a work around, I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard and check if this solves this problem.

    1. type of Device Manager in the Start Search box and press on enter.

    2. browse the keyboard.

    3. right click on the mentioned keyboard driver and select Uninstall.

    4. once the driver is uninstalled, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

Note: Windows will automatically detect the keyboard and install the necessary driver via Windows updates.

    See 't-working-properly#update-driver-hardware-isn't-working-properly=windows-7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/update-driver-hardware-isn

If the keyboard print incorrect characters, then try the steps mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258826

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.

  • Satellite A350-13 a - function keys does not work

    I have the Satellite A350-13. I installed Windows 7 for 2 weeks.

The function keys does not work although I have installed the Toshiba value added package, which is responsible for the activation of the function keys.

What the solution to this problem?

    > Function keys does not work although I have installed the toshiba value added package, which is responsible for the activation of the function keys

Next to the VAP (value added package) you need to install the Flash Utility card support!
Card Flash utility support controls the keys FN and not the VAP! But VAP is also needed.

  • Satellite P750-136 - left mouse button does not work

I don't understand what the problem is. My left mouse button does not work. If I put a little pressure on the Panel located under the button space then the left button of the mouse works.

What should I do? It feels like a hardware problem, since I bought the laptop in November my laptop is still covered by the warranty.

What you can do is to check the touchpad settings and make sure that everything is OK.
I'm don't know if you noticed this since day 1, but if you think it is hardware problem I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider as soon as possible. Warranty will cover all repair costs.

  • Portege R500 - Ctrl Key does not

    Hi guys

I have two toshiba portege r500, who never really be used since buying about 2 years ago.

Today I don't have one to begin to use it and find that the CTRL key is not working that I thought it was strange.
After browsing a bit I couldn't find a solution then I'm just another identical laptop on and from using them to find exactly a problem only.

    Laptops are both under XP.
I reformatted and uninstalled the keyboard driver to see if that would solve the problem but it did not.

All others. Many have suggested that this may be due to a damaged cable keyboard but I think that it would be very likely that they would both violate the same way.

    Thanks in advance

Connect an external USB keyboard and check if the button would work.
If the button can be used with the external keyboard, then the internal keyboard is faulty and must be replaced.

  • Satellite A200-10N (PSAE3): Fn key does not work after upgrade to vista any time

After upgrading Vista-Home - Premium--> Vista Ultimate shortcut with the fn keys does not work, for example Fn + F6/7 (brightness).

New value pack installation has not been successful.
Moreover, after upgrading the drive to DVD from Toshiba is default, too.
    Who can help?

I didn't try any update on my A200 but you can try to follow: install Vista using recovery media delivered. When Vista starts for the first time go in Panel and you can find Add/Remove Programs option. Remove all the stuff designed by Toshiba.

When we remove everything, making Vista upgrade. After finishing Vista upgrade install all the stuff of Toshiba designed by order of specific facilities starting with added value package. Check please the download page if all of these tools and utilities are available.

As far as I know all the tools and utilities are designed as universal tools and I can't imagine that there is a difference between the version of Vista ultimate or premium tools.

DVD player is part of the image of the installations only and I can imagine that upgrade installation has changed something, but the upgrade procedure is responsible for this. I don't see any connection to Toshiba.

As I said I don't have a CD to upgrade, but if I find one I'll try to test it on my Vista (Premium) preinstalled A200-1CR.

Bye and I hope that you report your experiences with the Vista upgrade again.

  • Satellite Pro S500-139 - FN + F9 key does not have to turn off the touchpad

    Hello

I use a Satellite Pro S500-139 and am having problems with my F9 key. When I tap my palm touches the mouse and send the cursor somewhere else on the page. I reinstalled the ALPS pointing device and now have access to the Advanced setting that I was not able to get.

Although I can set the sensitivity etc. I would really be able to use the shortcut to disable the mouse momentarily while typing. My keyboard shows that, if I press fn and F9 the i should be able to disable the mouse but the function does not work. F9 all other functions seem to work.

Do you know if there is a solution to this?

I am running windows 7 pro 32-bit service pack 1.

What you can try is to reinstall extra package from Toshiba.

  • Satellite L555-11U, CTRL key does not work.

    Welcome,
I bought this laptop about 2 weeks ago.
Since Monday, both the CTRL key are as "disabled" but I'm sure, that they are not damaged.
    Because:
When I press on (left and right) CTRL + v, this spell: vr. Or c: C3

Then I discovered while playing Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2:
If I use the wheel size the Volume, the function of CTRL has been set for her.
This means: in Cod MW2 I use CTRL to crouchinng... now, if I use the wheel I Crouch. Even in other games.

I did my best to write in English: D
    Thanks for the help,
    Syan

    Hello

Very strange, I think that the buttons are not damage, but I think there could be a problem with the keyboard.

But just a question; have you tried to reinstall the operating system and to check if the button works again? You use the latest version of the BIOS?
    Please check everything first.

If the buttons do not work even the installation of new OS and new BIOS then it s a hardware problem and the keyboard should be replaced

I think this shouldn't be a problem given that the guarantee is valid and everything should be done for free.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A300D - 15 c - FN key does not work

Hello. I have a problem with the FN key. It doesen't work. When I press the FN key it should appear something on the screen indicating that each FN key (F1, F2, F3, etc.) can do (for example toggle Bluetooth, Wlan, etc.), but it doesn't. Anyone know why it does not work?

The laptop is a Satellite A300D - 15 c with the Swedish version of Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.

Sorry for my bad English. I'm Swedish.

Toshiba value added Package allows to FlashCards, then go to the Toshiba website and download PVAT for your model.

  • Satellite A200-1FL (PSAE6) - FN key does not work on Windows 7

I have just installed Windows 7 on my laptop and I can't do touchpad Fn key works. I tried to install the drivers from the Synaptics touchpad, but it does not work.

    What can I do?

    Hi navarone_1,

This means that the work of FN keys and you can t use the pad touch, right?

Well, in this case I think that the touchpad is disabled with FN + F9 key combination and therefore, you must install the Toshiba tools to activate the FN keys.

You can find all the drivers and tools for your laptop on the Toshiba official European page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

You need Support Flash Cards of value added and utility package. These two tools should be released for Windows 7. For Windows 7 32 bit, you can find package of added value but Flash cards Support utility you must download it from another laptop, e. g. Satellite P500. It should work on your model too.

Last but not less than first installation package of added value and Flash then cards support utility.

    Dear community,

I updated the BIOS of my TP T410 (2522), German keyboard, to 1.45. After the update, both CTRL keys don't work anymore. Ditto for the AltGr key. When I switch to CTRL FN in the FN key BIOS - as supposed - works like the CTRL key. But when I turn off again the FN returns to his good funtion and CTRL does not work.

When I connect an external keyboard via USB it works perfectly.

Any suggestions how get the CTRL key works again?
