Satellite P30 - three vertical lines appeared on the screen

I have a problem with the display on my p30 110 three vertical lines appeared on the screen, the pc has been scanned with three different antivirus programs and seems to be clean any suggestions would be helpful

Hello

These problems usually occur due to a malfunction of the equipment.
But have you tried to update the graphics driver. If this isn't the case, so I recommend to do.
The update may solve some problems.

However, if vertical lines persists then you should ask Toshiba service for assistance.
He must check the laptop.

    Hello

If this blue line is present from the first second after turning on the laptop that I presume it's because of the faulty graphics card. To be sure try to connect an external display to see the same thing will happen. If Yes, it is the evidence that this line occurs due to faulty hardware.

  • Satellite P100 - thin yellow line appears on the screen

    Hello world.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite P100, 3 years ago.
Recently appeared on my screen an intermittent thin vertical yellow line.

Nothing serious, but very annoying, especially when I play or watch movies.
I just found that it is not a software problem, but a material one (I've connected the laptop with my TV and there is no yellow line shown on the screens).

So I guess there is something wrong with the LCD of my Satellite.

You think it's interesting to try to fix this? What can I do?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > So I guess there is something wrong with the LCD of my Satellite.
    Maybe

Always is that those issues could be related to a defective LCD screen or graphics chip
But given that this line is not visible on the TV or external monitor this could be an internal screen problem and not a problem of graphics chip

    > You think it is worth trying to fix this? What can I do?
Well, a laptop screen is not a party so inexpensively.
It costs about 300-350 Euros and I wouldn't try to replace it if the warranty is no longer valid

    Welcome them

  • White vertical line appeared on the screen.

A vertical white line appeared about 3 inches from the left hand side on my Dell Studio 1749.  It started about 1 mm wide, but increases in width and is now about 4 mm wide.  There is no problem on an external monitor when connected.

Is this likely to be a problem with the Panel or a chip problem?

    Thank you.

Yes, probably would have worked, but I just replaced the screen in the end.

    Thank you

    Hello

Connect the external monitor and check if the same lines would be visible on 2nd screen.
If these lines are not visible, then it means that the internal display may be defective.
Otherwise, it might be a graphics card problem if line would appear on two screens.

When I look at any kind of movies Sony handy cam, at the top of my 17 inch will display a line of thinking, and what's supposed to be shown here (desktop icons,...) is moved to the bottom.

I can fix that only if I change the resolution of my screen. I want to mention info film is: mpg 2 (format maxim) NTSC, 24.97, its 48 kHz dolby ac frame.
I think that it is a driver issue, but I'm not shore, that's why I need support.

My normal short clip in the timeline panel. When I hit the break, vertical lines appear. The lines are also exported. Why?

Found an answer online. Here it is:

I also want to mention that if you disable your GPU acceleration and use the software only mode the question should stop. It seems to affect only when the GPU acceleration is turned on.

Go to file > project settings > General and only software switch.

  • a pink vertical line appeared on my screen

A thin pink vertical line appeared on my screen. How can I get rid of him. I tried the obvious bases.

You probably have a line of dead or stuck pixels on your LCD screen. There are programs that carry out the display of this bike through various display models and some people recommend massaging where the pixel stuck watch manually.

Video exercise programs show some real promise, but I'm not sure a lot of the other supposed fixed. Personally, I think that many of these patches are as a cure for sneezing that they are no longer for the laugh of the person who provided the remedy in the interest of the person in arrears by sneezing. In addition, if the pixel has become unstuck, you can always ask success.

Use Bing or Google to find dead pixel and you will get a multitude of solutions thrown your way. Exercise video display may be worth trying.

  • Re: Tecra S1 - weird lines appear on the screen

I have a Tecra S1. It has the graphics card ATI Radeon 9000.

When I turn on the strange machine lines appear on the screen... and blocks to move on the screen when you use the operating system.
Basically, it seems very strange. I think there may be a problem with the graphics card and I was wondering if Intel has left the jury on the graphics chip on the system and if it was possible to switch to him?

I've had the laptop hooked up to an external monitor and the same problem on screen exists, so there is no problem with the screen that I can tell.

If anyone has any other suggestions, what could be the problem I would be interested as well.

    Thank you

    Paul.

    Hello Paul

If the same vein occur on the external monitor, I'm sure it's because of the faulty graphics card. The graphics card is part of the motherboard and it cannot be exchanged separately. Sorry, but in this case, the entire motherboard must be exchanged.

I'm pretty sure new costs a lot of money, but only a chance of getting is cheaper is looking for used one. Maybe you should check eBay. There you can find a lot of laptop parts for models of different laptops. Maybe you will be lucky and find mainborad for your Tecra S1.

    Good luck!

  • The gray vertical lines appear on the bottom screen shots

    Hello

Vertucal gray lines appear on the few photos that I took to be painted. They appear not in the Photos, but only when they are displayed as background pictures. It happens on every image but some a few, I can't work on any model! Any help would be appreciated!

    Photo for example is attached.

    See you soon

You see the same problem, if you export the photo (file > export > export original) and then set the photo as the desktop to a folder in the Finder and not directly from your photo library?

Preview shows also the photo with band objects?

If you can see objects only when display as an image of the desktop, try the same from another user account - sign in the guest user account and set the image of the Office here.

If the guest user account shows the same objects, restart your Mac in safe mode.  What is going on?

  • Satellite P30-110: vertical lines on the screen - Virus?

I have a 110 - p30 and emerged recently vertical on my screen I have run norton AV and nothing was found is a possible virus any help appreciated because I don't want to lose all my work.

    Hi Dave

If you don't want to lose your work trial to save on a way you like it (data CD/DVD or copy files on the external HARD disk device).

I don't really know if the vertical lines are the result of some viruses, but I believe some hardware malfunction can be responsible for this. Just detailed test can give more answers. In your case the best solution is to backup all important data and preinstall the device with the recovery media. On this way the unit will be own pre-installed and you can check if the lines happen.

If so, there are certainly a hardware problem. Sorry, but in this way it is not easy to give you more answers. Please back up your data. If the problem will be much worse than what you have a big problem.

  • Satellite P30 - straight line appeared on the screen

    Hello all 2

yesterday a vertical straight line cyan (1 pixel thin) appeared at my laptop screen, the line is not constantly on the screen, but randomly disappears and appears once again, (the problem is not about the operating system or resolution settings)

I wonder if there is a way to diagnose is the failure caused by bad monitor (screen) or possibly inverter (it's in the bottom of the screen monitor)

There is no chance that the prob.
Is caused on the external monitor because the graphics card everything works fine.

    Thank you

    Hello

It's not easy to say what could be wrong.
As you say it s not a graphics card but the TFT or the FL inverter may be defective.

You can only find what s wrong by checking and replacement part.

I put t see another possibility to contact a technician from laptop to laptop control.

    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite A500 - 15 M - blue vertical line appears on the LCD screen

Hi - I turned on my laptop the other day (I have an A 500 - 15M) and I noticed a very thin dotted vertical blue line running through the centre-right of the screen of my computer, all the way up and down.

I tried things like change the desktop theme, screen settings, updated to the intel drivers but nothing is done, it won't go away. Does anyone have a solution or a similar problem? I bought an extended warranty of 3 years so could still call Toshiba and ask them about it, but wanted to see if there was a quick fix here of someone.

I tried to restore to a previous restore point, but nothing helped.

Help please, because it is very annoying!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi bilal1982,

Hmm, it seems to be a hardware malfunction with your laptop

I mean that if you tried to update the driver display and restored Windows to an earlier point, but without success, it seems that the graphics card or LCD screen is defective.
You can connect an external monitor to check if it of the graphics card or internal LCD screen.

But in both cases you should contact a provider authorized in your country. Guys can fix your laptop under warranty, so it of free for you.

Here is a list of aspic, where you can search:

    Good luck! :)
