Satellite P300-1 c 8 will not start up disk drive

Hello

I had a little play with the start up programs, partitioning the hard drive and the marking as assets and remove programs I thought I didn't need.
I of course had no idea what I was doing!

Laptop will go to toshiba screen then turns off, I can not boot from the hard drive.
I put the hard drive in another laptop and it works fine.
J’ai mis le disque dur de l’ordinateur portable dans le buggered un et qui fonctionne très bien.

How the hell can I put the original back with it works?

Really really stuck with it!

Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing I have not tried is the restore disc but I'm not paying for one if it does not start as itl be a waste of money.
Looks like it is a compatibility issue with the processor and hard drive because they won't be friends!

Thanks in advance

Hello!

You can start in safe mode?

If you don t have a recovery disk, use the Microsoft installation disc and try to boot from it.
And you said that you can boot from the hard t disc, done you have tried different discs?
Maybe some are not legible or not bootable.

The best way would be a recovery disk. The installation takes a few minutes and you have a clean install with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba.

Good bye

  • Portege 3500 will not start up disk

    Hello

I recently acquired the laptop above. I decided that I would try to reconstruct it, bad idea.
I don't have an external CD or recovery CD but I have another laptop and a Windows XP CD.

I removed the HARD drive the 3500 and put it in my other laptop. I formatted the drive and installed windows. Everything worked Ok and good boots in my other laptop. When I put the disc in the 3500 however, it will not start. All I see is a black screen, not even a cursor or any error.

I tried to format the drive again and the sys'ing, it does not work. I tried installing on my other laptop then continue on the 3500 but that doesn't work either.

I was wondering if the 3500 was looking for a partition that I deleted. I don't see why it will not start when start up ok in my other laptop HARD drive.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you
    Simon

I don't think that this has nothing to do with the score. You get the black screen, because the other laptop is quite different installed on Windows ACPI etc.
If you have a usb floppy drive try this:
1 partition and format the disk with Fat32 (or fat 16).
    2. from your installation CD copy the i386 on the partition directory (attach the HARD drive to another laptop)
    3. start the P3500 leave a floppy disk bootable BACK, change to the I386 directory and start the winnt.exe

  • Satellite A200-PSAF6A - white screen, will not start

I've had for about a year or more now, out of warranty, and I had no problems so far. The operation of the machine is perfect, done a little warm here and there, but I never had blockages of material etc. The problem lies in the boot process where it lights up but the screen remains black and the HARD drive activity light flashes once, the optical reader clicks like it normally does at the start, and all the normal power supply/battery lights are as they should be, but the laptop will not progress beyond that. The power led remains blue and there is not much activity from the hard drive or any part of the material. This not even the screen of the BIOS at all. At some point, which I suppose because I can't see a pattern emerging in any form, the laptop will emit several beeps and the HDD led starts to blink signifying a boot up is ongoing, but the screen remains blank. At this point, if I turn off the laptop holding the power button / I am sometimes able to start with the display work, but once these things are depend on chance then sometimes it works and sometimes it isn't. Is that a real problem for me because I use this laptop for school and I get sometimes it will feed any or he will, and I'll have to wait a certain amount of time, which could be easily half the class and when he does the beep hard distracted others which is quite annoying.

Now, I went through a lot of similar topics and tried what was said, but to no avail of course. I tried to delete all the components (RAM, HDD, optical drive, Wifi etc.) and reinstalling them that sometimes only a temporary solution. In the RAM slot I have 800 mhz and 1x1GB 667 mhz-1x2GB, I tried various arrangements with the installed RAM and RAM I have around my house, but I have not yet come to a solution. I find that I can't start up with RAM in just the second slot, I guess it's probably normal, but if it's not please comment and tell me otherwise because I read about another solution to a similar problem a person should use the ram in the second slot to get his laptop to start.

My suspicion is that it's to do with a kind of BIOS check or maybe a BIOS corrupted, that I could not resolve without a technician because I am already in the current version of the BIOS. I did not update the BIOS that is not. If not then I'll assume that it is just a fault of power on the motherboard circuit. It's a really weird problem because it works quite well after, and I don't think it's a hardware problem perfectly serious because he wouldn't if it was.

Any help is appreciated on the topic, share your knowledge, if you have had a similar problem because whatever it is would be useful

    Thank you

I'm not 100% sure but I think that the graphics card can be removed. Maybe you have enough experience with replacement of equipment, but laptop disassembly without maintenance manuals can be risky.
I really hope you know what you're doing. Maybe you should contact the nearest authorized and ask for help.

    Hi mate

Seems that something was wrong during the BIOS update process.
Usually the BIOS update should work correctly but the BIOS update is always sensitive technique and something like that can happen.

Usually the CMOS must be cleared first and then the ROM module must be flashed again. This can be done by an ASP.

Be in contact with an ASP in local guys help!

    Please help me!

    Hello

    Looks like a serious problem.
But for the first time, try this:

-Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
    -Wait about 20-30 min
-Reconnect the two parts and try to turn on the laptop

If it is not possible to power the laptop then the problem must be related to a serious hardware problem and only the ASP would be able to help you and to see what's exactly wrong with the machine.

  • Satellite 2800-400 Bios Update - will not start

    Hello
I hope someone here can help me.
I just did an update of the bios on a S2800-400. The machine worked perfectly up to this point, has never had a problem at all. (should have been better I guess)
Anyway, he is been 192 MB of ram and a 60 GB drive upgrade and works happily in this config for some time. The change I wanted was the ASPA compliance, but for some reason, the machine pours just as soon as he's trying to start now. The update of the bios has been according to the instructions and successful that the messages show. Do not know what to do now... Where can I find the old bios files? return to orig
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

As far as I know old BIOS version can be installed just in Service partner. Another possibility is to try to reinstall the OS from restore CD. Maybe using.

  • M73 10B 6 will not start no optical drive

He bought about two weeks ago, preloaded with Win 10 Pro. It starts from a USB optical drive. I tested the DVD bootable on other computers and these other computers boot from them. I can browse the contents of the bootable disks in Explorer on my M73. I have the latest version of the BIOS.

Of course, I checked the BIOS configuration and the drive is listed in the order of boot sequence. But when I press F12 and try to boot from the disc, it is not listed in the list of bootable disks I have to choose.

Lenovo support seems quite distraught about the problem. I was transferred to four different agents without getting this resolved. An incredulous seeemd agent on why I was interested even if he initiated from the optical reader. I finally got them all right send a tech Monday. They have the tech to replace the optical drive, but I doubt if that is the problem. I think it's a bug in the BIOS or there is a problem with the motherboard, but Lenovo support seems too stupid to look at these opportunities

Sorry for venting but I lost more than two hours on the phone with them yesterday and I'm a busy person. I spent my hard earned money on this computer in good faith and I don't have to go through all that.

OK, I thought about it. I just had to go into the BIOS Setup and disable the quick start.

  • Satellite C850 - 19(d) - hiss and not start

    Hello

I have a Satellite C850 - 19(d) I will not start, unless I have the battery and reset the bios everytime, as when he turns there is a constant hissing noise that even disable the speakers will not stop.

I tried to update the bios, but its running the most recent version.
As you can imagine its driving me and my crazy family

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hi Paul

First remove the main battery from the laptop does not reset the BIOS!
To me, it sounds really strange that you should always just the battery to start the device.

Also the sound you mentioned in your post seems to come from a piece of internal material (cooling event, drive HARD or maybe CPU?) and not speakers.

I guess that there is a serious hardware problem and I don t think you will be able to solve this problem without the assistance of an authorized technician.

  • Recovery disk will not start on Satellite 1110

I try to use the recovery on a Satellite 1110 CD. I want to just install fresh Windows. The necessary files are supposed to be on the Toshiba recovery CD that accompanies it.

So I did what the brochure says, and booted up the laptop to the top with the correct CD in the drive, while pressing 'C '. The notebook ignored the CD ROM and loaded Windows as usual. I repeated three times, each time that the CD ROM whirs a bit but will not start and Windows loads as usual. I have replaced 'C' for F12, chose the CD ROM drive in the list and repeat the process several times. Yet once it wouldn't boot from the CD-ROM.

I looked at the content of the CD ROM A single MB 447. File of the GHS. The file icon is that generic type "Windows does not know what program this icon is intended to" deals.

Google believes it is a ghost file and must the ghost installed to run it. This bitch never came with Ghost.

Anyone here knows a remedy to this problem?

(NB - I tried clean Windows system restore option, but it just brings back me to September this year. Theres no option that was more early in life for portable computers)

I am in the United Kingdom, and is a UK machine if that makes a difference.

    Hello Micha

Is this your ODD works properly with the operating system?

I put really know what exactly is happening here, but please make sure that you start with recovery CD number 1/2 2/2. The installation of recovery, you can just start with the first recovery CD. Also try please set CD-ROM as firs boot device in the BIOS.

  • Satellite A105-S4164 - will not start only white screen

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4164 that will not start.

I thought that maybe there is a problem with the battery. I took out the battery and then plugged the laptop to the power outlet, makes no difference. The blue lights in the front of the laptop, lights, but I hear no noise from the motherboard or the fan. The laptop is bought in July 2006 and it is out of warranty.
All I see is a white screen.

My guess is that the motherboard must be replaced. I have also had kept with Symantic anti-virus and windows updates XP before April 1, 2009.

    Thank you for your comments.

You can see an image on an external monitor?

Well, I think that in this case the laptop must be verified by the technician for laptop. You should contact an ASP and ask for help. It would be the best way because the technician can be sure what parts are defective.

  • Satellite A40 will not start or start the BIOS

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite A40 2 days ago decided to turns off while I was on the internet, and now it does not restart. I tried removing the battery and leave overnight, but it still will not start. When give you it power outlet, the AC LED is green and if you press the button power turns on the green power light, but that's all, the HARD drive light does not illuminate, the fan does not come on, no sound from the HARD drive and nothing on the screen, not even the backlight. You can also feel the heatsink gets hot (without excess however)

If you insert a CD, you can here read the disc, and find things out there, too, now the power button still cut off the laptop.

If anyone has any advice on what may be the cause, or any way I can get the machine to reboot again, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if pictures or anything else appears on the second monitor?

Your description sounds like the malfunctioning of the internal display, but it is only a suggestion and a few trials are required to obtain a diagnosis right.

  • L50 - B satellite will not start when the battery is completely discharged

    Hello

My Toshiba L50 - B won't start when the battery is fully drained but connected to the power outlet.
I try to work most of the time on the battery to keep the battery in good shape, but when I forgot to turn off the battery drains and the system will not start when I plug in the adapter.

The battery charge indicator is orange light as it should. Only when the battery is fully charged to 100%, it will run at startup and function normally after that. I tried to turn on the laptop several times during the charge cycle, but only when the charge indicator changes from yellow to white it starts. Tested for 2 bodies.

My old Toshiba always immediately turned on when I plugged the adapter even when the battery has been completely drained. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks for responding... I hope well :-)

    Toshiba L50 - B
    Windows 8.1
Any standard/original setting since I only acquired this laptop a month ago.

The laptop should light up if the power adapter is plugged in and power the laptop corectly any if the battery is empty or during charge.

Please check the version of the BIOS that is available on your mobile phone and compare with the BIOS available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
Maybe you need to update the BIOS, but to be honest, the history seems really odd to me and I m afraid that there could be some power supply electronic problem

So in the worst case, the laptop must be checked by authorized service provider.
