Satellite P300-1 has 8 - password requests when you turn

Hello

I bought a P300 Carphone Warehouse for years as my first laptop, but because I am not versed in computer things, I thought that he had broken causing buy me a new acer laptop.

Yesterday, I found the laptop and tried to put on with a spare magazine and discovered that it was not the laptop, which was broken, but the actual charger wire has been damaged, so it worked yesterday but when I tried to turn it on this morning he asked me a password to 8 digits in a blue box.

After 3 incorrect ones, it would be closed.
A friend told me that it is a bios password and I was hoping if anyone knows the password because I threw away the manual who died in 2007.

Thank you in advance!

BIOS password is the individual password and not a standard password that you can find in manuals s or any other official document.
Someone put this password and the laptop is now locked.
All you can do is check the Toshiba authorized service provider and allow them to remove this password.

  • Satellite P300-1GL battery falls to 85% when you unplug the charger

    Hello

I had a Satellite P300-1GL for about a week and I let it charge and discharge several times. When Vista tells me that the battery is fully charged (100%) and the battery light changes from orange to white on the laptop, I unplug the charger. Then, my battery level falls almost immediately from 100% to 85%. If I plug the charger in the laptop, he noted again the battery 100%.

Can someone help me out here?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

As mhoffmann suggested discharge the battery fully until the laptop shuts itself. Then reconnect the AC/DC adapter and charge the battery fully. If you now disconnect the AC/DC adapter is again - reductions of up to 85% battery level?

If so, I think that the battery must be exchanged. Contact the registered maintainer the closest that you can find on the Toshiba site and ask for a new battery. Technicians will try to help you:

  • Satellite A300 starts sometimes like when you turn it on

    Hey people,

So my sisters laptop (satellite A300) was more than heating for basically since we bought it, but now I think that has caused a serious problem.
Now it does not start at times like when you turn the backlight only market not even turn on.

Hard drive does nothing basically nothing just the power light comes on it is all.
But when I remove the charger and close the lid and open it again, wait like 2 minutes it magicly towers, so it's the startup problem.

This may have something to do with it, but when you plug the cable that the tactile area (above the keyboard) lights up if laptops or disable but don't market not turn on if not plugged Chargers... also touch dosen't work area.

So many things hope you understand all this, thank you!

    Hello

I think that this is related to the problem of equipment; Maybe this problem of motherboard or power suply electronics problem.
But that's just a guess and no one here will be able to say what's going wrong with your laptop until it has been checked by a technician.

That's why I put t think you could solve this problem, install the new OS or new BIOS.
I therefore recommend to request a laptop technician help and equipment to check.

First of all, and although that perhaps not related to your problem, I would remind you that the version of Firefox you use right now since been abandoned and are no longer supported. In addition, it has known bugs and security problems. I invite you to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and ease of use. You can get it for free, as always, to www.getfirefox.com.

As for your question, if you are absolutely sure that this problem is not an add-on you have installed and has not been changed in the latest versions, you should file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org to request this behavior to change.

  • Satellite Pro L500 stuck when you turn it on and got the loud noise

I use Toshiba for a long time, this is my 3rd Toshiba laptop (I bought it in June 2010), today I bought the helmet, when I plugged it in, it did not work. (When I talk with my friend through sky, I use the laptop speaker instead) Then my friend got me to download a driver for the sound.

After the download, the helmet worked perfectly. BUT the speaker on the laptop did not work. Then I restarted computer again and this time when you turn on, it's stuck. stop boot on Toshiba logo later process, there are peep sound (not speaker, he is very strong), I can hear it from the inside. I can't do anything else, JUST close.

Please help or advise where can I take my laptop to the service because I think that if people reply to my post and I don't know if I can fix it myself.

I'm going overseas week next to the presentation and need to use the laptop. Do you think that if I take the laptop to the center of toshiba, they immediately understand problems? I am now using my old toshiba, and it is slow to make any presentation.

    Hey Buddy,

You use normal headphones with headphone jack or USB?
Headsets with headphones are usually easier handling in my opinion.

In any case, at the time where your computer laptop doesn't boot and stuck on Toshiba logo, right?
In this case, you must remove the battery and the AC adapter at a time and test it again.

  • Stor.e TV + loader error keeps coming up when you turn it on

I experienced ongoing problems accessing the hard drive. Error message "No Loader" keeps coming up when you turn it on.

The so-called 'solution' to this problem on this forum is to open the box and play with the cables. While I had some success with this method initially, disassembly of the box 10 times a week is not on.

In desperation, I tried something else.
When the message no. Loader is in place, I pass in the box and the new on the remote control.
After 2 or 3 times, and then the folder of the HARD disk appears generally.

I did that constantly now with great success. However, this suggests that the error no. Loader is NOT a mechanical connector with the hard drive problem, but (as usual) poor software (what else?).

Dismantling of the unit is shut down for an extended period of time so may explain why this technique works.

Put the unit on and off the power several times also solves the problem of file D are not on the network even if Win7 shows shop-TV-Plus as a mapped drive on NTFS (but can not find the file D).

    See the resemblance?

Another thing that exacerbates the problems is poor ventilation of the device. The first thing that happens with this device, it's rubber feet sticky garbage fall.

While this may seem trivial, the ventilation slots are under the device and will be blocked if he has no feet. I live in a hot country so this appliance gets very hot and behaves even more erratic, unless it is well ventilated.

Ideally keep well away from other units and preferably sitting it on a small box in itself with the vents in many exposed.

I always also have problems to read files FLAC, MKV. The unit sometimes lost synch with files FLAC which generally play OK and crashes or causes a large noise or white noise on the speakers (dangerous).

Some just MKV files play quite although VLC reads. There are many other inconsistencies, but these are more boring.

Everyone knows these problems or someone at - it other solutions for these problems?

I don't think we can expect another software upgrade from Toshiba? Your dreams, pal.

I m not Stor.E + owner and can not say much about the issues mentioned, but the first sounds of mentioned problem (error no. Loader") for me much more like a hardware problem as a software related issue.

Files mkv seems to be supported.
The mkv must be encoded in H.264 and MPEG-4 format
This is what I found on a Web page.

In addition, there seems to be an update of the firmware

  • Tecra 9000 - no display on the LCD screen when you turn on

I recently got a Tecra 9000 for cheap on eBay. I am experienced with the construction and repair of computers, but not so with laptops.

The problem with this laptop, it's that do not display on the LCD screen when you turn on. It was just black, no backlight, nothing. I took the laptop all share, found no obvious problem. I had to turn it on and the screen lights up a few times trying to figure out the problem. Would it be a bad connection? Or something else?

After getting it to start work, I'll try to start to put it back together and it stopped working again. I haven't not been able to reduce it to know if it's a bad connection or a card problem.

Someone at - it suggestions? This is a problem for others here?

As you describe the issue, I think it is somehow a bad connection or a damaged cable, because it does not work once you have disassembled the screen.
Maybe you need to check all the cables, leading motherboard to the LCD and take a close look, maybe for a few scratches or strong curvature.

Hello! I really need help with my Satellite P300 - depending on how (with basic English) delete all my files on the computer, and then reinstall Windows Vista. I've read thorugh a lot of topics, assistance to users and others, but can find no solution at all.

Because I know that some BIOS-based and other stuff, so I would be grateful if someone could explain to me step by step, how to formate (?) my computer everything and then reinstall Vista.

I'm sure he was following no CD with the computer when I bought it, 70%, so in other words, I don't have any CD of Vista!

Thanks - I'll be happy for any kind of answers that you believe can help out me

    Hello

Just a question: have you already installed another version of Vista or not?

In addition, I put t understand why you didn t read the user manual
The point is that you must create a recovery disk Toshiba by yourself using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. This tool is preinstalled on your laptop and so you can create a Setup disk.

You can boot from that disk to reinstall Vista or other, you can use HARD drive recovery. You can start it if you go into the advanced boot menu and select Repair my computer. Then follow the instructions on the screen and Windows will be automatically reinstalled. With HDD the only function the first recovery partition will be wiped off so you can back up your files on the second partition.
    Here's more information: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

But I really recommend you read the manual before doing something. It s very interesting! ;)
