Satellite P300-161 - trouble with new battery

I just bought a new battery online for laptop above.

When I place the battery in the laptop, the orange charge light turns on, and the battery seems to charge.

However, after a few minutes the charging light starts flashing and stays flashing. So, I can not say if and when the battery is fully charged.

When I remove the charger and turn on the laptop, it lights up ok, but the battery icon shows 'time remaining unknown' and gray. The LED flashes orange.

When I sent to society the answer has been:

As a new battery for the first time three, you should charge complete 12hrs. Discharge, 3% rest and then recharge.

Remember the first three fresh times, stop your laptop >

When I loaded for 12 hours, the laptop will not light.

The following response was:

If the battery still does not work? Would pls take photos of the battery that was sent by us and your origin to us?

Just to see the model of barcode (white label) \part number\fit. >

Someone at - it ideas? My impression was that the battery is defective.

Purchased Toshiba logo on the label original battery?

In any case, send it back and ask for replacement.

  • Satellite P300-161: alarm low and criticism not fire

    Hello.

I just bought a Satellite P300-161 with Vista and every time alarm if there is only a pop-up notification at the low or critical level, you but no sound alarm. I checked the settings under "advanced power management" and "battery" and both have the value default to 'ON' for low and critical battery alarm.

I also made sure there is a noise linked to these events under 'Hardware and sound', 'System sounds' and "low battery alarm" and a criticism.

The default sounds are really sweet so I registered and chosen my sensors clean up but still no luck.

I did a search on google and apparently several people had the same problem. In addition to suggest to both look like the above parameters, some have said that it is a general problem with Vista that will be fixed with service pack 1. I already service Pack1 so that does not solve it.

The other thing that I found via google is that apparently Vista doesn't offer it through the message system, but makes it available for 3rd party software. It seems ridiculous that Toshiba withdrew its usefulness because of power management especially in Vista.

I wouldn't mind an alarm from the BIOS, but looking at the settings, I couldn't find all the options. I can only note a pop up and if I play music or something, I have completely run out and the computer into hibernation which is really annoying.

I would be grateful if anyone has any suggetions on how to solve the problem.

  • Satellite P300 - 161 freeze randomly.

    Hi all

I have some problem with my Satellite P300-161.
He is running on MS Vista and I get random freezing with the computer laptop everything.

By freezing, I hear every application that runs past to the mode "not responding" and it freezes for about 10 seconds, then after 10 seconds or so everything will return to normal. HOWEVER, sometimes in frozen mode, I can thaw the laptop while hitting / drawing the space next to the touchpad... I know it's bad, but it's the best way to solve this problem.

Is there anyone who knows why it freezes like that? Internal hardware problem? This component is under the area as I type?

Oh I should add also that when he is in frozen mode, there is this very very slight hum from the laptop, that noise disappears as soon as the laptop stops freezing.

    Thanks in advance.

PS. I uninstalled the operating system more twice if the OS is not the problem as I know.

Why create the son second on the same topic?

  • Re: Satellite P300-161-Lock-ups/freeze randomly

    Hi all

I've had my laptop Toshiba Satellite P300-161 for about 6 months now. However, in the last month or so... I've known a freeze at random the computer laptop everything.

It usually starts at any time... then it will pause and then start to freeze again. When it freezes, it lasts about 10-15 seconds, and everything goes to "not responding". Even the keys Ctrl + Alt + Delete load the Task Manager after the stop of the gel. However, I have discovered that when it is in its 'freeze', where applications are unresponsive, I can give the laptop a gentle tap with my hand on the area of the free space to the right of the touchpad... and he thaws... It is certainly a bad thing.

I intend to take this back to where I bought it from and have it sent to Toshiba for repair because I have a 2 year warranty with them IF I can't get some help here.

    Many need help.

    Thanks in advance,

    Benny FUNG.

    Hello!

I m not sure because it is not easy to say what the reason for this, but have you tried to clean up your laptop using a jet of compressed air?
Maybe the laptop is overheating and so it begins to freeze. Check it!

You have Windows XP or Vista? Have you tried to reinstall? It is perhaps only a s software problem.
How do you think about this?

  • Satellite A100-225 is not charging even with new battery

Hi, having a problem of load. Laptop turns off suddenly while using. Tried to start but power light turns off and it stops again. With connected battery and ac adapter on the power light blue and yellow light of the battery lit a few seconds and then stops, not allowing does not start up.

The old battery thinking it was this and my laptop starts fine just using the AC adapter because it is how I am currently this announcement. Replace the battery and the power light comes and turns off again every few seconds and prevents the starting upwards.

Bought a new battery thinking it was defective, but nothing helped, exactly the same problem.
Let the laptop to charge that battery again noticed but light blue and yellow power battery light goes on and out together all few seconds.

If I try to start the laptop while the power led is turned on, it begins to start but as soon as the power light turns off, it stops. My thoughts are the unit load inside my laptop is in short-circuit, but I'm no expert.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is, and it would be expensive to fix as I just spent £48 on a new battery for e.

    Thanks Mick

    > Back up battery and the power light comes and turns off again every few seconds and prevents the starting upwards.

Are you sure that the battery is compatible? did you buy the genuine battery from Toshiba ASP?
I think that 3rd party retailer batteries may not always be compatible so I would test the laptop with a battery that is recommended by Toshiba.

On the other hand, it could be a motherboard problem, but if the notebook starts successfully by using the AC adapter, I wouldn't quite sure if he s really a motherboard problem.

    Also try this:
Remove the battery and adapter, press the power 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and connect AC adapter and check if you could power the unit up.

  • C50-A-19 t satellite does not start with the battery mounted

    OK, first post here.

I see similar questions coming, but as they are never QUITE the same, I am that posing in a new thread.

I left my Satellite from one day to the next (do not remember if I had put off, or he simply had 'gone to sleep', but it has been connected to the grid).

When I got to reboot, I got a power light on, but screen blank (black). After reading a few similar complaints on the internet (via another laptop!), I tried to remove the battery and power from the grid.
This worked well (I write him in this state right now).

But whenever I put the battery and try again, it will fail in the same way.
I tried this company "press and hold power for 30 seconds" without success (but I'm not 100% sure of the EXACT procedure actions sequence).

    I have a few questions:

    (1) I take the laptop away from my office - is there a problem with everything just works like this (i.e. of the grid, with no battery inserted) indefinitely?

    (2) in any case, I want to solve the problem.
If the battery has run COMPLETELY flat, and that the laptop can not it lights but also operate normally?

Alternatively, is probably that the battery has not experienced a catastrophic failure and simply needs to replace?
If so, I'll just buy a. BUT...

What I don't want to do, is to pay for a costly spare battery, to find that it was actually another factor at the origin of the problem, and I'm back to square one and out of Pocket!

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hello

According to your assignment, in most cases, you use the laptop connected to the power adapter but no battery. Is this correct?

First we need to know that if the AC adapter is plugged in, the laptop should work correctly with - and without inserting the battery.
If you unplug the AC adapter, the laptop should automatically switch to battery power. In this case, it is important that the battery is pretty cool power to provide the power for the laptop.
In case the battery is empty, the laptop will not light.

I recommend to insert the battery plug the power adapter and charge the battery for a longer period of time.

You should also check if the battery is recognized by the Windows system and the battery charge indicator (battery in the taskbar icon) shows the State of battery charge.

In case the battery is fully charged and the laptop does not work using the battery power only, you should test the new battery.
If new battery does not solve the problem, s for laptop hardware needs an audit.

  • Satellite P300-156 - problem with drivers ATI 3470

I have download the new catalyst 9.3, I exceeded the drivers with mobility modder, but always after the installation, the pilots see 3470 drivers only 3450.
What is happening and why Toshiba is not updating the drivers for Satellite P300 on the site?

    Hello!

The reason is the reason for which you are trying to use a driver that is designed for desktop graphics cards and not for laptops.
It s on your own risk to use these drivers because they don t have a protection against overheating.

In your case I remove and install the most recent that you can find on the Toshiba site:

    Hi all

I contacted the community because my new Sanyo battery would be suddunly and turn off at random, causing of course my Thinkpad X 201 to close.

Here's what I found: aft uf the battery, there is a slide button to lock it once you insert it into the battery tray.

On battery 6cells, simply insert, yo hear a click, and the battery is locked.

On the battery 9 cells (at least on the shot I bought) the sliding button must be moved manually to the "Locked" position If you don't move it, the PC starts normally, but stops abruptly after 10, 30 or 50 min, come anytime.

Problem solved. I hope this can help!

    Hey all,.

My DV4z is about 2 years old now (out of warranty) and my stock battery had to be replaced (the remaining battery icon had a red X through it) but in any case, I bought a new battery and not from HP if you ask, but it is said connected does not support. I have read other forums on the same question, but im thinking that it has something to do with the AC adapter Microsoft or compatible ACPI control method battery drivers. Anyone else have any idead or the kind even issue and have solutions?
