Satellite P300-173 never off when the ethernet cable is plugged or WIFI

Hello

I can't stop my P300 correctly.

Whenever the ethernet cable is plugged or wifi is connected, stop work until the screen goes black but the power remains on: fan, always active LEDs. The only way to stop then is to press the power button.

As the network is always connected, it's really annoying.

Can you please help?

Thank you!

ER

Hello

Very strange problem
First have you checked if you use the latest version of the BIOS?
Please check this!

On the European driver Toshiba page you will always find the latest BIOS and divers.

Secondly, I would recommend disabling more upward on LAN option in the BIOS and in properties (device-> LAN properties-> Advanced tab management) LAN card

Check if this may help solve this problem

    Hi all

Then, when I plug in an ethernet cable (connected to a router), my wireless adapter turns off.

He immediately turns on when I unplug the ethernet cable.

It isn't really a problem, either connection will provide my needs of networking, but it's just weird and I don't like it.

    Using Win7 Ultimate 64 bit.

    Hello:

This is the default setting to save the battery.

If you always want the wireless on, go into BIOS > Menu of device Configuration and activation to deactivate WLAN-LAN.

  • T460 touchpad responds liked when the Ethernet cable is plugged

    Hello

I bought a brand new ThinkPad T460 ten days ago and I noticed that when I plug in an Ethernet cable, the touchpad responds: just a few clicks and taps are missed, the movement is slow and and sometimes temporarily blocked. The touchpad comes alive again as soon as the Ethernet cable is disconnected. The trackpoint and trackpoint button above the touchpad are not affected, only the touchpad starts to misbehave.

This happens on both Windows and Linux, this isn't a problem of specific operating system. Furthermore, I checked to see if I am running the latest version of the BIOS, and I am. And there are no problems when you use the wireless adapter, but one of the reasons why I bought a ThinkPad was she has a port Ethernet, so not being able to use it would be extremely disappointing.

I checked to see if there are any IRQ conflicts for the touchpad, but could find none. The problem occurs when the computer is plugged in and when it runs on battery only. I also tried two different cables in the same router, each in a different router port, and the problem persisted.

I'm using the latest drivers for Windows 7 directly on the Lenovo site, and Arch Linux with kernel 4.4.5 - the Ethernet card is considered:

    e1000e [2.751703]: Intel® PRO/1000 3.2.6 - k network driver
    e1000e [2.751705]: Copyright (c) Intel Corporation 1999-2015.

Should I expect it is fixed with a BIOS update, or do I have to contact guarantee? It is unacceptable to live with it.

Tried in another House as promised, and the touchpad works very well with cable Ethernet is plugged. Also, before you leave the House with the problem, I discovered that the problem occurs only when the cable from my ISP switch is plugged into my router.

Respect my opinion that this machine deserves a stronger touchpad, but apparently is not due to lack of computer - under normal circumstances, there is no problem with the touchpad.

I'm stumped on how to proceed. Can I use a multimeter on the ISP switch from cable, but I'm not sure what to check (voltage? how does and between what son?). I'll also look into the suggestion of ferrite, I don't know where they are available - this thread is first heard of them.

Anyway, I wanted to just erase Lenovo name on it.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to check the parameters of the power management of the device on the network adapter.

To correct the settings please follow these steps.

    (a) click Start, type device in the box start the search and then click on Device Manager in the programs list.

    (b) in the user account control dialog box, click continue.

    (c) in Device Manager, expand network adapters.

    (d) right click on the network driver and then click Properties.

    (e) click the power management tab.

    (f) click to uncheck the checkbox allow the computer to turn off this device to save power , and then click OK. If the option is checked, then uncheck the option and apply the settings.

Once you have performed the steps, restart the computer so that the changes take effect, and then check the result.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Try to detect when the USB cable is plugged

I used the USBPortListener to try to get an indication when the USB cable is plugged into the phone, and also when it is cut. The problem is that a single function never gets pulled, and that is 'getChannel', whenever I have data on the connection.

Obviously, I must have been a misunderstanding on how to use this listener, but I woud take "wired" lights whenever the cable is plugged in, even with "disconnected".

I think you want to use a system for this listener

Hmmm... strange question. Maybe, it's driver conflict problem. In any case, try reinstalling driver Lan and touchpad. Before you update, edition of lan and touchpad drivers (usb mouse may be necessary after edition touchpad driver). If there is still problem, restore the settings from the factory with a recovery disk...

  • MB Pro restarts randomly with the ethernet cable is plugged

I recently bought a thunderbolt reduction - Ethernet [1] and it works very well. The problem is that when it is plugged in, my MacBook Pro (13', 2015, i5, 8 GB) gets very hot. This isn't a problem, but the next thing is really annoying.

Whenever I'm not load, but the ethernet cable is connected, and MacBook goes into sleep mode, the system turns off instead. Thus, for example, when I don't have the power cable and if go for 5 minutes, the system automatically sets the mode 'sleep'. When I come back, it is turned off, and when I hit the power button, a black screen with the Apple logo and a text in several languages, saying that the system restarted because of a problem. After that, MacBook starts normally.

    The same phenomenon occurs:

    • When the power cable is not connected and I close the screen
    • When the power cable is not connected and I SLEEP manually the MacBook
    • When the screen is closed and I plug the power or the ethernet cable

    I use OS X 10.11.

  • Satellite Pro U400 freezes sometimes when the power cord is plugged

Hello! I know that this problem has been addressed here and there, but I'd like to open a new thread about it. Here's the scenario.

I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-247 (PSU45E) with two batteries: (a) the original, (b) in addition purchased authentic of Toshiba PA3636U-1BRL, 7200 mAh. The laptop has the latest BIOS (4.80) and the latest drivers downloaded from Toshiba and installed (ConfigFree is not installed). I use XP Pro SP3 (own installation by myself). Everything works fine, except for one thing:

Sometimes (but), when the laptop is running on battery power and I plug in the power cord, everything hangs and I have to restart. A few observations:

    It tends to occur more frequently when the low battery alarm has rung;
    (b) it seems to happen more frequently with the 7200 mAh battery and less frequently with the original battery.
    (c) it seems to happen most often when a USB device (mouse, for example) has been linked to the laptop, but it is not a rule;
    (d) it seems to happen less often when I move the mouse USB at the time wherever I am connect the power cord.
    (e) I've experimented a lot with Toshiba PowerSaver settings (for example to change the levels of CPU for my profile) but nothing I changed seems to change the situation.
    (f) I tried different suggestions I found on various forums, but nothing works (for example the BIOS settings);
    (g) otherwise, I can say that I have not really seen a smoother computer, everything works really fine, no other problem :)

Everything that makes me think it must be some sort of bug in the drivers of motherboard driver PowerSaver or other drivers interact with battery, CPU or possibly USB. Y at - it an explanation to this problem and can it be rectified in some way (for example, by providing a driver update)?

    Hello

First of all, I never heard a driver from the motherboard.
There is a drive chipset or a graphics card driver. There is no such thing as a driver of the motherboard!

Look, man. laptop should work fine even the AC adapter is connected or not connected
If the laptop freezes while there might be a software problem, but in my opinion it could be hardware problem
You must reinstall the operating system if the laptop would freeze always the issue might be related to hardware

First of all the memory modules and AC adapter must be verified.
If the problem persists even using new modules and AC adapter, motherboard may be affected.

    > I found the power options, but all that it gives me a choice of power management, which is energy-saving Toshiba which corresponds to the current setting, I see nothing wireless on the tabs it?

You must discover the power plan that is used when the power adapter is attached.
Then, you click on change the power plan settings

New window would be open where you will find an extra option called change advanced power settings

Now you will see further options. Scroll down the settings of the wireless adapter and make sure both options are set on the performance

  • Need to connect the network adapter when the ethernet cable is not connected

Hi all and thanks for reading.  I'm new to the both VMWare Fusion and new on Mac.  I have a new MacBook Pro, I bought a month ago.

I have software that works only on PC and its license server is linked to the mac address of the NETWORK card.  I am implemented on bridged network mode I use the multiplicity to link the Virtual PC to my other PC and it seems the network mode that works best for this.

I've set up to work with the virtual address of the NIC card and everything works fine.  The problem comes when I'm traveling and my Mac isn't difficult, connected to an ethernet connection.  When I start the merger, told me that 'the network bridge on/dev/vmnet0 unit does not work"and that she didn't connect the device virtual ethernet0.  Under the terms of the merger, I get this error whenever I try to force the card /virtual machine/network/will connect the network adapter.

When I'm traveling or not hung, I need to get the virtual running NETWORK card so my license server will take place so that I can run my software.  Any ideas?  Any help is most appreciated!

    Thank you

    Mark

Change the type of the bridged network to NAT and then start the virtual machine.

    Hi all!
Couple B40-30 weeks bought it y a. upgrade to Windows Home 64-bit 10, then did a clean install of W10. Installed all the drivers required from the Lenovo site.
After that (I don't remember what it was like before the clean install) I faced the problem: when I plug in the adapter the screen turns black (gray). When I unplug the cable screens becomes visible. Laptop is not actually usable while it is on the power grid.

It allows me to recharge the battery well when the laptop is turned off. And if I can use it only on the power of the battery which is not used for a long time - about half an hour just as much.
What do you think is the problem? The battery or the AC/transformer cable?

    Thank you for your help.
    Kind regards

I m not sure but I think it is a problem of the motherboard.
I had the same problem 4 years or more (I dunno m) on another laptop. The repairman replaced the motherboard and the problem was solved.

So you can look on eBay for a second hand motherboard for Exchange it.
