  I installed Windows 7 Pro on my Satellite P300 and everytime I try to use the button mute etc it starts the program set button assignment but no options are available to choose.

  Can you please tell us which version of Windows 7, you have exactly? I mean the 32-bit version or 64-bit and you downloaded the package of value added specially for Windows 7? From Toshiba Web site shows also different patterns of P300, what model number you have?

  Have you ever tried to assign different functions to the button? For example, there is a file mute.exe as far as I know in case Toshiba should be assigned to the button mute. Check it!

  Maybe reinstall the VAP might also be useful.

  As I understand it, you can't silence your iPhone.  I have a suggestion that should help you with this.

  The first thing we want to do is to make sure that you have a current backup of everything on your iPhone.  If you follow this link, you will find instructions on how to make a backup:

  The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

  If the silent button moves upward on its own, so you must do this checked by a service representative.  You can find the nearest one by looking here:

  Find locations

  If the button is stay down, but do not silence the iPhone then we want to restore all settings.

  Reset preference files resets all parameters that may be problems. This step will not delete your contacts, photos or personal information. It deletes all your preferences for Wi - Fi, Bluetooth, do not disturb, Notifications, general, sounds, brightness & wallpaper and privacy and removes your Touch ID & password.

  Do you this by clicking on settings > general > reset > reset all settings.

  Once you have done this, restart the iPhone and see if you are able to turn off the sound.

  Recently I bought this laptop, works great except one problem...

  There is touchbutton for LED switching power.
  When I close or put the laptop in sleep, this button does not work like that but activates or disables the sound.

  Buttons light Toshiba does not work under Vista.

  I installed added package versions available in Toshiba support page, but Toshiba Assist do not see the list of function buttons where I can change the feature keys.

  When this value added package is uninstalled all buttons works with WMP, but during the installation - do not.
  Illumination power button is not working do not by the press.

  This means support to toshiba button does not work properly with vista.

  I don't have these problems with XP

  As far as I know, you can enable and disable the lighting in the BIOS.
  Go to BIOS and check if you can activate it.

  By the way; you said that buttons don t work with Vista.
  Have you tested this with Vista OS preinstalled Toshiba?

  I'm new here but I have an urgent problem. I hope that you guys can tell me what to do. I have this laptop SATELLITE A100-1011E model. My AV button which located on the left side of the keyboard does not work.

  I'm sure that it works always 3 days ago, but I don't know what I did and it doesn't now. I n it's a driver issue cause I just bought this phone 5 days ago. I checked with this 'Toshiba' commands in the Panel and I've assigned to the right program (windows media player 10) but it does not work when I press a key.

  Hmm, in all likelihood, your keyboard needs to be replaced.
  I doubt that the only button H can be fixed and thus the entire keyboard needs to be replaced.

  Contact the ASP in your country and request a replacement.

  However, you can also use an external USB keyboard, but I think that it of better to have a laptop keyboard that works properly.

  Get in touch with a local ASP Toshiba your country and ask for help.
  If the warranty is valid, the keyboard should be replaced free of charge.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P300 PSPCCA Windows vista ultimate x 64. I can't do my work button soft touch. I downloaded latetest VAT package and installed. After installation it asks to restart but I restart my laptop and I make just restart Flash Card and my button works all good touch app that is silent, Media Player, etc., but once I restart my laptop it stops working.

  I tried the uninstaller and reinstalling but no luck. I read in the forum toshiba on running CCleaner and do a fresh install but still have the same problem.

  Does anyone of you knows how to solve this problem.

  BTW, I got the software AVG internet security on my system, but have added folder toshiba for exclude of realtime scanning just in case if its causing problems but not luck. I searched qurantine folder and its nothing in there.

  Please help me get my work button soft touch.

  I agree with Akuma. All you can do is remove VAP preinstalled system and reinstall the latest version. Why you didn t follow the instructions to restart the computer after the installation of VAP?

  I installed VAP several times on my Satellite P200 and Satellite A300 without any problem, but after installing the latest version, I rebooted phone immediately. The procedure of the facilities has been completed and necessary processes started in the background. I guess that's the problem on your Satellite P300.

  If nothing is done the last step is to install the OS by using the DVD facilities. After doing this you will own preinstalled OS and everything works well again.

• Satellite A300-1HV: light button does not work

  Hi guys,.

  I recently bought a Satellite A300-1HV, and while that in the store, the salesman showed me it was possible to turn off the light behind the function/media at the top of the keyboard buttons. It seems to do by simply pressing the first button (the mute button).

  When I got home I tried several times, and he did in fact machine do what I expected (i.e. off lighting). The manual describes the first button under the button "Mute or LED power. Later that night, I tried the button again once, but this time it acted as a mute button and either turns off the lighting. In addition, the second button (CD/DVD) no longer seems to work at all, although it lights up when you press.

  I tried the Toshiba Assist software and am able to manually turn off the lighting, but the 'Toshiba button Support' seems to have no effect on buttons. I guess this would allow me to set up manually a program runs when I press one of two buttons, but no matter what I ask it to run, it does nothing.

  It's as if there is a piece of software that should be run, leading the keys, that I do not have (or at least no longer have).

  Any ideas?

  You can enable this back in the BIOS.
  You can access this menu by pressing the F2 key when turned on the machine.

  Select the Advanced section and turn on LED lighting.

  I'm just curious to know if anyone else has a problem with the (play/pause excatly) multimedia keyboard backlight? Mine died today, and there is nothing I can do to make it work again.

  The key still works, but when I turn on the backlight, backlight on everyone, but the play/pause (the backlight of the other keys work, touchpad and Satellite logo too).

  I use Windows 7, but the problem persists even in the BIOS.

  I think the backlight of the button is just dead.

  I have to admit I'm really disappointed with this laptop. Config is great, design and are also involved, but I can just take the couine noise that makes C2D (RMClock, one utility, I know that to solve this problem, does not recognize the A500 motherboard) and the fan almost never works to 70%, and now that the backlight...

  If the backlight of the multimedia key stops working after 3 weeks of use, which will be in the future? It's too scary to think ;)

  I was really excited by Toshiba, but day after day I come to the conclusion, that it is the first and the last laptop that I bought at Toshiba - never had similar problems on other laptops, same nonames.

  Of course, I know that I can has sent for fix, I guarantee (and wait about a month to get a backlight fixed stupid). But why hell not the backlight stoped working, if LEDs vitality is long as hell? It can mean two things: I really don't have a chance, or Toshiba did not pay too much attention to detail during production A500s. And after 3 weeks of use, I fear that the second option is much more likely...

  He damage of s to hear that your light has stopped working, but I think that it s just a software problem.
  I have a Satellite A500 equipped with buttons of enlightenment and everything works great with Vista and XP I m very satisfied.
  Unfortunately until that yet I didn't test with Win 7.

  I doubt you want to send this laptop for ASP, as I said, there seems to be a software problem and you can find it easily
  You must set the notebook to factory settings I mean that you must use the recovery disc in order to get the same State as on the first day of purchase

• Satellite L840/03R - FN buttons does not work properly after Win 8 upgrade

  I bought a new L840/03R and installed Windows 8 using the Toshiba Upgrade Wizard. There is no error message.

  The function keys do not work with the CTRL and ALT keys So I can't use the shortcuts like ALT-F4 to close windows - which gives "second screen" options. It does this for F4 on its own, or by pressing CTRL, ALT or SHIFT key.

  In addition, F11 activates / deactivates sound we / off rather than go full screen in chrome. F12 allows flying mode instead of "Save as" in word.
  Just downloaded and installed the package of value added.

  Am I missing something really obvious?

  I recently bought a Satellite P300 - 19 p and at home I had a connection to the LAN cable to go online but 2 days after purchase I flew to Africa for a year and now when I try to connect to the Internet wirelessly, I discover that the bleeding thing doesn't have a working wireless driver.

  I am really disappointed and frustrated, I installed drivers before and the Toshiba driver on drive C file shows a driver by Atheros wireless and I installed it but it will not appear on the Device Manager.
  I copied a driver realtek on a disk and loaded, it appeared on the Device Manager but wouldn't work, came up with the code 10 error?

  When I turn on wifi radar it keeps saying "the wireless network device is disabled. Please activate"- large just give me an idea how to!

  I can't connect my laptop to the internet and it smells just a waste of money and be out here is not anywhere I can take it to!

  Can someone offer help and why not the manual provided with the help of these things!

  I think that this problem of WLan is not related to the missing driver, but on the fact that your WLan is not enabled!

  Then all first move the WLan switch on IT and then use the FN + F8 key combination to select the WiFi network!

  By the way; isn't your Atheros or Realtek but INTEL WLan card wireless network card!

• Microphone Mute button does not work - T510

  Simple enough question.  I think I have the latest updates installed software but on my Win7 64 bit T510, all the special keys work except Microphone mute.  Mute speaker and the speaker volume buttons work fine. I'll have to cut my microphone in the recording devices screen in Win7.

  What could stop working Microphone mute button?
