Satellite P300-28th does not start - windows does not load

I bought Toshiba P300 28th last week. I spent Vista business successfully in Windows XP Professional with provided Toshiba DVD. Update Windows with Windows Update. After 3 days, laptop turns off suddenly, and because Windows does not start, it in fact does not start.

When I press the power button / stop, it turns on, shows "Toshiba Leading Innovation" logo image option and "2", "press 12...", and it hangs and stops.
I tried pressing F2 and F12, nothing happened.

I can not access the boot menu.

I put the Toshiba Recovery CD, the hard drive does not work. Recovery disk does not start, despite earlier I remember put boot CD/DVD at the forefront in the Boot Options to Boot Menu.

I checked everything, power cable, took the battery in and replace after 3 hours, tried to turn on the portable power, without battery cable. Did not help.

Don't know what to do?

Your help is very appreciated.

Hello Fiona

If you are unable to enter the BIOS (F2) at startup settings there must be some serious hardware problem.
I recommend to contact your local dealer where you bought this laptop and ask for help, or you can contact Toshiba service provider directly.

What you have tried to do is good but if laptop doesn t allow you to enter parameters of the BIOS something wrong here, and you need professional help.

  • Satellite P300 - CD does not read DVD

Purchased by Satellite P300-16 t about a month ago, using Vista Home Premium. Until today, my cd/dvd rom drive worked very well.

Now when I try and insert any dvd is not be recognized at all, i.e. that there is no disc in the drive. Audio CD play well, but any type of dvd or original dvd-r/rw is not recognized.

When you click on the player itself in 'computer' drive ejects then and I get a message to insert a floppy disk in the drive. I'm not too knowledgeable about these things, but I checked the drivers are up to date.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and also to set a system restore point upward on a week but still no luck. I prefer not to take it back to the store that I have pictures and videos now on the laptop and one galley to remove so if someone can provide that a solution would be grateful. I also deleted the values of upper register in redegit and deleted any software addition burning like nero. Now driving me crazy

    Thank you

    > I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and also to set a system restore point upward on a week but still no luck.
OK... you have attempted to assign the OS to the point of time at the beginning, but have you also tried to boot from a Toshiba Recovery DVD.
If this problem is related to the hardware of the CD/DVD drive problem, then it shouldn't t possible to boot from the Toshiba Recovery DVD.
In this case, the CD/DVD drive should be replaced by ASP.

But if it of possible to boot from the recovery Toshiba DVD so your ODD is not damage which could be only a software problem.
In this case a new installation of operating system and use of recovery DVDs should help solve this problem of CD/DVD drive.

In my opinion it s worth a try

  • Satellite P300 - Microphone is not working after installing Windows 7

    Hello

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 on my Satellite P300. The microphone has been fine with Vista but does not currently work with Windows 7.
I tried to go to the sound section and it does not list the casting Mike - just struggling. Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    James

    Hello

Maybe you didn't install the driver for the microphone? Therefore, you will need to install the driver for the webcam, because the microphone is a part of it. You can get it here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

After that, it should be possible to use the internal mic.

By the way: internal what application you are using for the microphone? Skype or something?

  • Satellite L300 laptop will not load Windows

    I have a model of Satellite L300 number PSLB0A - 00L 022 running windows Vista.

The problem is that it does not load Windows. It starts ok and I can access the boot manager and the Setup utility and that's it. It stops just loading.
After studying the problem, I ran a car aptitude test and the result was the error code 0 x 70. After looking at the code I m under the impression that I need to erase the disc. I have no problem with that.

My question is - if I run the windows Recovery Wizard will be it solve my problem? I will have to re install vista at all? All advice is appreciated!

Hello Jane and welcome in the Toshiba forum

After reading your ad, I must say that the best solution and easier for you is to reinstall the operating system via original Toshiba recovery DVD. This DVD contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools. After recovery image installation you will get state out-of-box and clean the preinstalled operating system.

Yes, this should solve your problem. Please note: when you do it all saved data will be deleted.

You have some important data saved on your laptop?
Do not use this disc reinstall Vista and everything should be ok again.

    Hello

I have a Satellite P300-156 I bought a few months as damaged. The screen has been damaged and the case slightly cracked. I've been running this system for 3 months now without any problem but, today, for some reason, it won't start or even POST. It powers on and the CPU fan starts to turn then stops and does nothing. No display (I tried external). CD player works. No beeps.

I tried reinstalling RAM even open completely and reinstalling all connections, nothing done. Does anyone have an idea what component is gone? (CPU/GPU/RAM)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Satellite P300-133 - Hotkey utility for Windows 7

    Hello.

    Sorry for my bad English.
I have a problem with my laptop Satellite 300-133

I installed Windows 7. Then installed the driver that I found. I have not found on utility Hotkey for Windows 7 and I need to install the driver for Windows XP compatibility mode. But here's appers a bug. When Windows 7 just starting, but a few moment later CONDUIT (sernor on top panel) and indicators on the bottom of specifications beginning light like crazy.

    I think it's driver problems. I cann't find driver for Windows 7 :(

    What should I do?

    Best regards, Sergei.

    Hi wer32,

For Windows 7 there is no Hotkey Utility as on Windows 7. All the Toshiba built-in tools in Toshiba Value added Package which should be available for your P300:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

So in your case, you must remove the Toshiba for XP utilities. Then install the package of added value on the Toshiba site.

    Check this box!

Instead, I find myself in the Windows Boot Manager to attempt the repair I've tried 3 times.

Is there anything else I can do without having to pay money for parts.

    Thank you, mike

  • Satellite P300/05Y - how to restore Windows?

    Hello

I would like to be able to restore my Toshiba Satellite P300/05Y PSPCCA-05Y01Y to factory default, but I deleted the partition when I went to Linux.

What are my options? Download a copy so that I can burn to a CD? I have the key.

    Hi, IWB,.

If you deleted all partitions during the installation of Linux, you need the Toshiba recovery disc to restore the settings from the factory with Windows preinstalled and all the drivers and tools.
The key on the side of the can t be used with a Windows installation disc normal because it s an OEM key that doesn t normal work with the installation diskettes.

In any case, you should contact a service provider authorized in your country. Usually the guys should be able to order an original Toshiba recovery disc for you. :)

Alternative use a normal Microsoft Windows disc with the key that belongs to this disc. All the drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba page.

  • Can I downgrade my Satellite P300-1GN from Vista to Windows XP Home edition?

I bought a Toshiba Satellite P300-1GN with preinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium (PL) on this subject.
Given that some of the th sotware I use only works on XP I have to install XP on my laptop.

    This laptop works with XP?
Is it necessary to have any special disc or can I install from an ordinary copy XP (boxed version) are all the drivers available?
Any tips how to perform the downgrade?

    Help, please.

You can install WXP on your model of laptop. It's Windows XP Home supported and you can find all the necessary drivers WXP, tools and utilities on Toshiba support download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

For Windows XP Home edition, you can use disk Microsoft facilities.

  • Satellite P300-212 - system causes the periodic high CPU load

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium (OEM) on the Toshiba Satellite P300-212

Even on a system Windows freshly installed (from recovery DVDs), the system process (PID 4, NT Kernel & System) causes on a regular basis (every five minutes) a CPU load high for a few seconds, during which the system hangs, not even the mouse pointer can be moved.
Sysinternals Process Explorer identifies the thread of high load as "ntkrnlpa.exe! ExfTryAcquirePushLockShared + 0 x 15 2 "with the thread ID 20 or 24.

Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior or a solution to the problem?

    Hey,.

If you have installed Windows recovery disk Toshiba but still high CPU usage? Hmm that's strange because this image is tested by Toshiba

Have you installed or uninstalled any software or tools?
I uninstall the current antivirus and disable some start up programs you n t need in msconfig. Usually, this should work.

  • Satellite A100-049, do not load, totally dead

    Purchased: April 2007
    Model: Satellite A100-049 (PSAARE-03G00JEN)
Operating system: supplied with Windows Vista 32-bit, now under Windows 7 64-bit

In recent weeks, my Toshiba Satellite A100-049 began to charge not. He went from 100%, 80%, 50%, 30%, 10%. Basically all over the place but I have no worry because I never unplug it anyway, and if I let her she eventually settle and start loading. It worked this way for about 2-3 weeks.

    * He then from the changing of the guard that I discovered despite the orange charging light is on and Windows, he is in charge, it is actually not statement. This means in turn Windows is not hibernate (depending on configuration) when it reaches 3% of battery. Therefore, it goes down to 0% and turns off.

When he is in this State, it's a real pain so he could start charging again. I left all night and sometimes the charging light lights up, other times it doesn't.

    * I thought it might be the battery so I bought a new *, this fixed for about a week before the same exact problems occurred.

    * Since that it has gotten worse and now does not load period.*, I now have two dead batteries with 0% fee, as well as a dead laptop. Once again I left during the night, nothing, that it refuses to load.

I searched this forum and tried to turn on without the battery in, it lights. He's dead.

    * Is the main/mother card or would be - this something else? *

If the Commission of the main mother card, how much a replacement motherboard would cost more work? I live in the United Kingdom, how to fix here? If this is not the case, in U.S. dollars will be fine.

I really hope I can make it last a few months because A: I can't afford a new laptop and b: I prefer to buy a new laptop when Windows 8 came out, I intend to get anyway. Especially since I already have a valid license of Windows 7 retail.

Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

    > I have searched this forum and tried to turn on without the battery in, it lights. He's dead.

That s not good dude even if the battery is not connected, the laptop must turn on with AC adapter plugged
What you can do is this short workaround just for testing purposes.
-The battery should be removed in addition to disconnect the adapter
-Leave the laptop disconnected for a longer period of time (a long night). then press the power button / stop along 30 sec.
-Now connect the AC adapter and check if the laptop would be powered.

If this is not possible, then the motherboard could be affected in such cases is not worth buying a new motherboard since its really, really expensive part.
New motherboard + fix would cost about 300-350
In my opinion it's better to sell this unit and buy a new laptop.

    Hello Wayne

In front of me, I have Satellite P500 and I use it almost 10 months now without a single update. What I'm updating are important updates from Microsoft. More than that and so far I didn't notice a single hardware or software problem.
After reading your ad m a little confused.

As far as I know Toshiba doesn't offer any DVD for that laptop, not any kind of pilot DVD so please be so kind and tell me which DVD driver is and who has created and offered this DVD.

original is Win7 64 bit OS (original image of recovery Toshiba) preinstalled on this P500?
