Satellite P300 (PSPCCA) - new, no sound

Hi all users of Toshiba laptops,

If you have had a similar problem or know how to fix this, please help me. I bought a brand-new p300 of Toshiba Satellite, drawn by the promise of high quality sound (Harman/Kardon), among other benefits. To my surprise and disappointment, the laptop is completely mute. No conflict pilot didn't report in Device Manager. Sound level indicator volume control is alive, but not sound out of speakers. Looking for the problem on the Internet, has revealed a possible incompatibility pilot with Vista 64 SP1. No new drivers are available on this site. The sound is not muted in the volume mixer, turn the control of physical volume on the laptop had no effect.

The most upsetting is the fact that I had to spend an entire weekend trying to find a solution to a problem that shouldn't be there in the first place. That's after almost 3 k (NZD) on this thing. I mean, if it's normal, then Toshiba has a serious problem with quality control. But that's just my frustration talking. If anyone can help me, I'll be eternally grateful :).

The other important point - headphone produces sound when it is plugged in, the sound card looks very good, a show just not the speakers.

  • Where and how to buy a recovery for my Satellite P300 PSPCCA 015015 disc?

    Hello

I'm sorry, I know this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the solution.
I have a Satellite P300 PSPCCA-015015, (which came with Windows Vista, when I bought it).
I did a clean install of Windows 7. Now many things did not work with this OS if I want to reinstall the previous version of windows.
The only thing is that I have created a recovery disk and lost their: (.)
Now, I have the hard disk that windows creates the recovery disc files in. All I need is to either 1 get the software recovery disk creater my model or
the recovery disk full reinstall with factory setting.
Would you know where I could get one of these two.
I am WIndows 7 CAP to death at the moment and Im regreting his installation and lose my disks :(

Oh also to tell you I'm alive in the Japan now, but I bought the laptop in Australia, so there English OS, more I was wondering how I would go he posted to the Japan.
or if I go somewhere in Tokyo and solve this problem by a toshiba shop that performs repairs.

Thanks I hope I can get an answer and a solution of someone.

I don't know how it works in Australia, but I think you can order the original recovery by Australian Toshiba service provider media.
I don't know if they'll send it but a friend you can order and buy it for you and send you later to the Japan.

I think it's the easiest way to get the original Toshiba drive facilities.

    Hello

I got this Toshiba FAQ on laptops supported by Windows 7.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm

As you can see the Satellite P300 is that listed there.
I guess that the drivers will be released as soon as possible.

The webcam and the microphone does not work?
I think that you need to install the Chicony webcam software
In your case, I recommend the software available for Vista 64-bit.
Some Vista drivers are compatible with Win 7. That's why it worth trying to install webcam for Vista software.

  • Re: Satellite P300 - 1 9 - no sound and picture with HDMI

    I have a new laptop Satellite P300 - 1 9.

Last night I plugged the laptop to the TV and was able to watch a movie, but no sound was sent to television. Tonight, I haven't tried the same thing but this time, no sound or picture from an HDMI cable.
TV and controlled cable works fine on other equipment.

Any advice on how to fix this (I'm not a computer expert so please keep advice as simple as possible).

Have you installed the HDMI Control Manager or a new version of it?
In addition, I would like to make a BIOS update.

The two update you will find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

    Good luck!

The battery is always fully recognized and fully supported. I tried several methods to try to load but nothing happens

    Hello

Because your old battery is always recognized, I think you bought the battery is not compatible.

That's why you should buy a compatible battery recommended by Toshiba.
I think you can buy this Toshiba ASP.

  • Satellite P300 - how to record sounds from sources other than the microphone?

I own a P300 Satellite with Windows Vista Home Premium. My problem is the only source that I can use to record sounds is the microphone and I want my voice to blend a wav. Pre-recorded file of my guitar. I used to do with my windows xp desktop computer and a map its SoundBlaster.

Is it possible to do it on my laptop?

    Hey,.

You can also record sound using the microphone jack on the front of your laptop (line). Then, you can connect a Microphone or your guitar to this jack and record music using software like Audacity recording for example.

If you have any other questions please let us know! :)

  • Satellite P300 - 18 M Conexant sound XP

    Hey,.

I read another topic on this subject, but there was no real answer in addition to make a comment on the equalizer settings, so I decided to make a new topic.

Formatted this machine, fresh installed XP SP2, leave it to update to SP3, not a problem. Other related expenses, found that the last 2.50 BIOS now also solved the problem of XP Wifi connection, which was horrible.

Anyway, now that it's the traffic, the noise of Conexant is poor, sounds like playing 8-bit mono with any sound, MP3 wave etc. I don't think the equalizer's suggestion makes sense, it is not so much an imbalance in the frequency of the sounds, but much more fundamental, really as either MP3 is played with a flow rate of 96 or sound was recorded at 8-bit (I know this isn't the case, but to give an idea of what we mean here). In order to play with the equalizer does not a difference at all.

Could someone tell me what may be the reason, or better a solution here? I don't think there is a practical reason why the quality is limited by a XP driver in Vista the sound of this laptop is really fantastic, I must admit. (of course tried latest drivers in the two operating systems).

BTW, I realize that under XP, Device Manager shows 3 features "question mark", but these should not be linked to the question that I think (firewire, some SM bus..).

Any help would be really appreciated, so installing XP is much more flexible to work only the slow Vista the P300 delivered installed with :(

    Kind regards

  • Satellite P300 (PSPCCA-03W01Y) - no microphone after Windows 7 update

    Hello

After updating my P300 to Windows 7 (32 bit) my microphone did not work. I understand that the MIC is part of the camera, but I can't find the driver for Windows 7 32-bit update with. The camera works fine.

There is a similar topics that allows you to download the driver directly, but after looking at the Toshiba Australia and toshiba europe sites, I have not been able to find.

Anyone know where I can find this driver?

    Thank you.

    Hi stelth_turtle,

You can try the 32-bit driver for Vista from Toshiba Australian page. Usually this driver also works on Windows 7 because Vista and Windows 7 are very similar, so it would be worth to try and install the 32-bit driver for Vista.

If it doesn t work take a look for Satellite P500 drivers. On the Australian page, I saw a 32-bit Windows 7 driver for this model and I guess this should also work on your P300.

    Check this box!

  • Satellite P300 (PSPCCA-05Y01Y) - HARD drive does not

I bought my laptop in New Zealand and now I am in India, last week my laptop suddenly stopped working after I tried to open it up to clean the heatsink (the fact is that I did not open the folder completely, I removed the RAM, HDD, battery and screws, while I tried to open it it doesn't move so didn't want to take any chances so I replaced everything as it was and it) closed).

Later, when I press the power button it lights up with the HARD disk after disk HARD 2 seconds, but power was still not display either!
Need help to fix, I took it to a repair center and they told me that the problem was with the motherboard and replace costs a lot. You are looking for an alternative solution.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

    Hello ralu

I hope that you will understand me when I say that on this path, we can only speculate what may be the problem and nobody here can offer an accurate diagnosis for your problem.

Fact is that laptop is removable 1000 times and when it is made on the right track, it should work properly. The HARD drive can also be removed several times, but it takes work if there is no problem with connectors on HARD drive or HARD drive itself.

If the HDD doesn't work I see here two reasons only: is troublemaker HDD or there is a problem with the HARD drive on the motherboard connector. What you think the problem may be?

  • Satellite P300-PSPCCA - malfunction of the fingerprint scanner

I had my p300 for a little over 8 months know and use the reader of fingerprints as well as the software to connect and protect a VERY large amount of personal data and work related documents.

And yesterday when I tried to access some schemes of work I opened the folder and right click on the file clicked on unprotection leader skipped the small box with the fingerprint to the said analysis of fingerprints digital I did and he said too short scan.
I scanned again and again and again same result every time.

What I do im thinking of sending it to the service to have the reader/scanner replaced.
I tried to reinstall the software and I restored the entire score of the point has upward, two weeks ago, but with no result.
    He said still too short.

Is their anything I can do on my end, so I lose my phone again for 6 weeks (Yes, it took them that long to repair my laptop and that I still had to ultimately collect the repair center)

    Hey Buddy

I found this FAQ from Toshiba:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9802O50000R01.htm

This doesn t will provide a solution to your problem, but it provides information about the files that are protected by fingerprints.
The fact is that if you would like to try to reinstall the OS and move the files to another location then the files are not accessible more and you will not be able to take out them more :(

I have no idea why your fingerprint reader does not read your fingerprint. Maybe there is something wrong with the sensor or something like that
I think that it s not a software issue since you can receive and message from fingerprints, saying the analysis was too short so I m thinking that it s associated with a sensor or a scanner.

Hmm, it would be interesting to know if the footprint would be functions after the system recovery, but that means that the whole HARD disk should be formatted and you would lose the files

  • No keyboard when you install Windows XP on Satellite P300 PSPCCA

OK, I just got my new 500 GB HDD and slipstreamed XP with SATA for XP drivers can see the HARD drive and the game works fine.

But now after XP loads its files and I get to the part where you can choose between configuring XP on the selected partition (ENTER key), create a partition (C button) or delete a partition (key D) none of them works, not even the key F3 to exit.

The keyboard doesn't have a driver to be slipstreamed so or is there a setting in the BIOS that needs to be changed? All of the suggestions.

I wonder why you're not abele to use the keyboard. Usually Setup will load the necessary drivers when you first before install this option screen appears

  • Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator does not work on my Satellite P300

    Hello

I need to make my drive recovery for my Satellite P300 (PSPCCA-05V01Y), but the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator does not work, as it is said that it is not a file on the pc HARD drive recovery.
I tried before, and he had a problem with the core files, saying he was corrupt.
So I was wondering if there is in any case I can download the installation of HARD drive recovery so that I can install and put it back to "factory condition" and reburn the recovery disk?
    Cheers for any help
    Mikey

    Hello Mikey

The situation is quite complicated. When you've got your laptop recovery files was recorded on the second partition in folder HDDRecovery. The second partition and backup files should not be modified.

If you did something with the second partition or this file recovery Toshiba creator cannot find these files and the recovery media cannot be created. This will work with the factory only settings. but I see another problem there.
Theoretically, you can now install new OS using the installation procedure of recovery HARD drive and with factory State, you should be able to create DVDs, but if the Toshiba Recovery creator can not find the files I'm afraid that the installation of HARD drive recovery can have the same problem.

If you want you can test. Try to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.

    Hello Jay

I agree with Akuma. All you can do is remove VAP preinstalled system and reinstall the latest version. Why you didn t follow the instructions to restart the computer after the installation of VAP?

I installed VAP several times on my Satellite P200 and Satellite A300 without any problem, but after installing the latest version, I rebooted phone immediately. The procedure of the facilities has been completed and necessary processes started in the background. I guess that's the problem on your Satellite P300.

If nothing is done the last step is to install the OS by using the DVD facilities. After doing this you will own preinstalled OS and everything works well again.
