Satellite P300-Q01 does not illuminate

Hi all

I was surfing the net a few hours ago, when my laptop just turned off.
Since then, I tried taking the battery on the thing and used only the plug; but it does not work.

I also tried out both the battery and mains Plug and tried pressing the button market for 30 seconds, then put the battery back, but that didn't work either.

For the moment, when I plug in the plug thing there is no lights turn on by saying that I plugged it.
I still have 3 weeks of warranty left.
Are there tricks to turn this thing on, or will I have to refer to the warranty? (Note, the nearest town is 990 Km from here where I live)

Thank you

Hello

You can try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
Then, wait about 1 hour and then reconnect the two parts.
Then try to turn on the machine.

If this will not help then you should get in touch with ASP in your country because this could be a serious hardware problem that could be repaired only by ASP.

Good luck buddy!

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not possible to provide an accurate diagnosis. All you can do is to unplug the power plug, remove the battery and leave it for a while. Then press the power button and hold it for 15 or 20 seconds.
After doing this connect the power running and try to start again.

What happens when you do this?

  • Satellite Pro P300-156 does not illuminate

I've had this laptop for 2 years, it was working fine this morning and I pressed the power button to turn on the sleep mode. I went back to the laptop a few hours later to turn it back on and the power light lit for about 2-3 seconds, then came out and nothing happened. Whenever I press the power button, the same thing happens, the light appears for 2-3 seconds then turns off and the laptop does not start. This produces both with the power adapter connected and disconnected. When the power connector is plugged the adapter power light and battery light comes on.

Does anyone have any idea can be what the problem is or if it can be fixed?

    Thank you

Disconnect the power and remove the battery. Leave it for a while and try to start the laptop with AC power only.
Please let us know what exactly happens when you try to turn on your laptop.

  • Satellite Pro M40X does not ILLUMINATE

    Hi. -.

I have a M40X Pro Satellite that I bought 4 years ago. It works well until a few weeks ago.

I tried to turn it on but nothing happen, nothing, no lights, no sound at all, completely dead.

It is connected to the power supply and the power light is on, (the battery light does not work since there is a lot of time). I tried to remove the battery, unplug the power cable and after several hours or even days, try to turn it on and I got the same behavior.

Only power if it is (the power light when you connect the AC power) but when I press the button "turn on" the laptop, nothing happens.

My laptop isn't under warranty, so if someone could help find a solution that would be great!

    Thank you

    Hello

I have read your problem related to the failure of hardware. It seems that the motherboard is dead, no doubt, the southbridge. In any case, you should contact the service center:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

Note that the motherboard is one of the most expensive parts of the tower and don't know if it's worthy to replace, it is better to buy a used or a new laptop.

    Hello

Turn the laptop over and unscrew the cover on the ram. Then remove the ram and try to turn it on again. If it lights, put the piston inside the laptop and try again. It does not turn on? Then your ram is dead. If yes then you can replace, or have your asp replace it. If this does not resolve the problem, there is a small plastic cover that runs along the keyboard just above the keyboard. Take this off and then unscrew the fixing screws to the bottom of the keyboard. Under the keyboard, you may have a second RAM slot. If Yes, try to remove the RAM stick and turn. It work? If this isn't the case, you probably have a problem with the motherboard. If it lights fine, then you have found the issue and can replace or continue using it without the extra RAM. Hope this helps and have a nice day.

  • Satellite Pro L300 does not illuminate

Hi all, I'm new to this forum.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 and I've had it for about 2 years.
But yesterday I closed the laptop as usual. But later I went back to it and tried to turn it on. But it does not work. Instead, when I press the power button the LED next to the battery symbol flashes orange/orange 6 times and then turns off.

Can someone tell me what it is? I tried to let it load, but that has not worked. The amber light is the only light that flashes. It does not recognize that I plugged in the charger and I don't think that the battery was flat. So I'm angry and helpless right now.

    Can someone help me please?

    See you soon.

  • Satellite Pro L20 does not illuminate

Hope you can help. We have a 5 years satellite pro L20 who never gave a lot of days. It runs from Win XP, had an upgrade (crucial) memory to 2 GB and a new battery 4 years ago 4 years ago. 2 days ago, he simply left with the same noise you get when force a shutdown by holding the power button down. I tried to boot with no battery, just the sector and only on a charged battery. All to nothing does not.

I then read the button of power with the battery and removed sector I did after leaving it overnight. When I replaced the battery it started as usual and lasted 30 seconds before turning off again, and then he was dead. I have tried all combinations with the ram up to 1 stick or kidnapped and attempted to get the bios with the HDD outside as well. Still nothing.

I noticed that when I put the battery in 2 of the 3 flashes briefly, and now the button of pwer while pushing the battery causes a brief start 4 seconds.

Any ideas as to what this may be? I suspect that the hardware and software. Also, I tried a different power adapter, once again no results. It stays just off.

    Thanks for any help...

    Hello

I'm afraid it looks like a serious m hardware problem
My first idea was a malfunction of the RAM in such a case, you could replace and test the memory, but it seems that you have already tried

In my view there s something wrong with a motherboard or a part on the motherboard :(
In this case I n t think a replacement of the motherboard would be useful since this part is very expensive

  • Satellite P300-28th does not start - windows does not load

I bought Toshiba P300 28th last week. I spent Vista business successfully in Windows XP Professional with provided Toshiba DVD. Update Windows with Windows Update. After 3 days, laptop turns off suddenly, and because Windows does not start, it in fact does not start.

When I press the power button / stop, it turns on, shows "Toshiba Leading Innovation" logo image option and "2", "press 12...", and it hangs and stops.
I tried pressing F2 and F12, nothing happened.

I can not access the boot menu.

I put the Toshiba Recovery CD, the hard drive does not work. Recovery disk does not start, despite earlier I remember put boot CD/DVD at the forefront in the Boot Options to Boot Menu.

I checked everything, power cable, took the battery in and replace after 3 hours, tried to turn on the portable power, without battery cable. Did not help.

    Don't know what to do?

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Fiona

If you are unable to enter the BIOS (F2) at startup settings there must be some serious hardware problem.
I recommend to contact your local dealer where you bought this laptop and ask for help, or you can contact Toshiba service provider directly.

What you have tried to do is good but if laptop doesn t allow you to enter parameters of the BIOS something wrong here, and you need professional help.

    Hello

It seems that Windows XP Home edition does not work perfectly on the new laptops designed Vista. Before you live your laptop try to change profile settings (extended battery) power and test the parameters of this profile.
Tomorrow I'll try to install Windows XP Home on my A200 and I'm really interesting if I even notice.

  • Satellite P300 - CD does not read DVD

Purchased by Satellite P300-16 t about a month ago, using Vista Home Premium. Until today, my cd/dvd rom drive worked very well.

Now when I try and insert any dvd is not be recognized at all, i.e. that there is no disc in the drive. Audio CD play well, but any type of dvd or original dvd-r/rw is not recognized.

When you click on the player itself in 'computer' drive ejects then and I get a message to insert a floppy disk in the drive. I'm not too knowledgeable about these things, but I checked the drivers are up to date.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and also to set a system restore point upward on a week but still no luck. I prefer not to take it back to the store that I have pictures and videos now on the laptop and one galley to remove so if someone can provide that a solution would be grateful. I also deleted the values of upper register in redegit and deleted any software addition burning like nero. Now driving me crazy

    Thank you

    Hello

    > I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and also to set a system restore point upward on a week but still no luck.
OK... you have attempted to assign the OS to the point of time at the beginning, but have you also tried to boot from a Toshiba Recovery DVD.
If this problem is related to the hardware of the CD/DVD drive problem, then it shouldn't t possible to boot from the Toshiba Recovery DVD.
In this case, the CD/DVD drive should be replaced by ASP.

But if it of possible to boot from the recovery Toshiba DVD so your ODD is not damage which could be only a software problem.
In this case a new installation of operating system and use of recovery DVDs should help solve this problem of CD/DVD drive.

In my opinion it s worth a try

  • Satellite A100-749 does not illuminate

    Hello

Since a few days, I have a problem with the power of the laptop.
Immediately after the connection of the AC adapter or the battery, it will not power upward.
The flashes of button and power indicator, any indicator on the keyboard flashes one time but the laptop does not work (hard drive and fans also).

I noticed that I have to wait a few minutes with is plugged or (I'm not sure) inserted battery.
Then, the portable lights and works normally on battery and adapter separately and jointly.
This means that the battery and AC adapter are not damaged.

I also noticed that, until the problem was the power LED flashes a few seconds after plugging in the power adapter. Similarly, the light blinks a few seconds after firing on the AC adapter.
I guess there is a capacitor that needs to be loaded.

When I can not turn on the laptop, this indicator will start / stop flashing immediately after plugging in / pulling on the power adapter.

    Where could be a problem?
Could this be a problem with the CMOS battery that needs to be replaced?
Could this be a problem with a capacitor inside the laptop in the power circuit?
    Something else?

    Thanks to advice
    Best regards

    Hi mate

Usually the DC-IN (first on left) indicator lights up blue when the power adapter is connected and if the power supply is not assured. IF the adapter voltage is abnormal or if power failures then this indicator flashes orange.

((Deuxième à gauche), the power led lights up blue when the computer is turned on. If the laptop is in stand by mode indicator flashes orange, while the computer shuts down.

I think you mean the first LED and in this case, it seems that there is something wrong with the power supply electric or electronic.

    Hello

Try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Several waiting time (> 15 min) and then reconnect the battery and connect the AC adapter.
    Try to start the laptop.

This is one way that is known to me. If it's not working so I guess you have a lot of opportunities and contacts him ASP is you last loophole.
