  Hello, I recently tried to do an advanced start safemode, because when I tried to do safe mode by pressing F8 it would have not responded to the command.   I don't understand, why... it was working fine before I did it, but like I said I suspected a virus or a hijacker, but my Norton 360 and SuperSpyware nothing not detected in normal mode. That's why I tried to safe mode.

• Satellite C660D - 17 H - black screen will not start

  You just bought at the course yesterday but then seller does not think this laptop is absence of motherboard.
  I press the power button and the fan runs for 2 seconds then powers off.
  I remove the battery and the DC cable. Then I press the power button for 20 seconds, but nothing.
  Any ideas greatly appreciated.

  In case you have the same problem, your motherboard is faulty and there is only one solution:
  the defective part (in this case mother) needs to be replaced

  Anyway, you need the latest version of Toshiba Value added Package and utility Support Flash Cards.
  Try to also restart Toshiba Flash Cards (start > all programs > Toshiba) and repeatedly press the FN keys.

• Satellite 1800-100 won't start with new memory

  My satellite s1800-100 won't start although my new memory (2nd) module is 128 MB PC100.

  I have Samsung samsung K4S281632C-TC1H module as PC100 (128 MB) memory on SLOT 1 by default.

  Although all of the features and form factors are clean, why not my Satellite S1800-100 starts? I checked the new (slot 2) memory works fine and tested OK.

  So, is there as a possibility to have a problem in the 2 Slot? Or is associated with failure of the BIOS? (there is no more recent BIOS, current is 2.20 for Satellite S1800-100).

  I am disappointed. I bought a new 128 MB PC100, to insert it in the slot 2, my Toshiba didn't boou up!.

  Important note: if I connect the new memory I bought yesterday, works very well in Slot 1.

  Well, it very difficult to say why it won't start.
  I think that there are several possibilities:

  (1.) you used a bad module
  (2.) the second Bank of the Board of Directors has a malfunction
  (3.) the laptop does not support max 256 MB of RAM

  I think that point 1 and 3 is not relevant because you have tested the module and it worked on the first location. Additional the laptop should be able to handle 2 x 256 MB memory, so you should be able to use 2 x 128 MB

  I think that the second ram location may have a malfunction.
  Please check the second slot with a module of memory.

  The second possibility is to use exactly the module which is recommended by Toshiba.
  As I remember it s PC100 128 MB (PA3005U) SDRAM

  If you buy an upgrade disc, you can t do a clean install. With a upgrade disk, you can only upgrade Vista to Windows 7.

  No, the BIOS update has nothing to do with the operating system and if everything is ok with your laptop don t make an update of the BIOS. It is not important if you have a serious problem that can be solved with the BIOS update.

  I have a Satellite P300-156 I bought a few months as damaged. The screen has been damaged and the case slightly cracked. I replaced the screen and hard drive and main card seems to have no physical damage. I've been running this system for 3 months now without any problem but, today, for some reason, it won't start or even POST. It powers on and the CPU fan starts to turn then stops and does nothing. No display (I tried external). CD player works. No beeps.

  I tried reinstalling RAM even open completely and reinstalling all connections, nothing done. Does anyone have an idea what component is gone? (CPU/GPU/RAM)

  For me, this is a normal behavior when the BIOS chip is faulty.

  My satellite pro 6000 stopped working all of a sudden.
  Power led, battery, keyboard LED is on, but nothing happens, tried to remove the battery, cd, hd and put them back, nothing seems bad.
  Also tried the back button back in case but no tip was not all good.
  It just won't start at all.

  Orange light flashes six times when you press the power button.
  No hard drive, fan, screen or any other noise / activity.

• Satellite Pro 2100 won't start at all - LED flash

  My SP2100 began to have feeding problems and now won't start at all.   I have a Satellite Pro 4600 w / Win2000, 15 GB HD, CD-ROM, P3 800 Mhz, 128 MB of RAM. It will not start. I can plug in the power cable and the lights show the battery is loaded or loads, the power is connected. When I press the button I get no sound from the laptop (no fans or HARD drive) and there is nothing from the HARD disk (no light whatever it may be), but the "On" indicator light turns green even if nothing else happens. Someone at - it an idea what could be wrong with that, and if/how I could fix it?

  As a first step to diagnose your problem, I suggest you to unplug the unit from AC power and also remove the battery completely. Reconnect AC power and try to turn on the unit. If it works then stop it and reinstall the battery and try to turn on the unit again.

  If the procedure above does not solve your problem, then it is likely that there is a problem with the internal components of your laptop in which case you will need to be serviced by an authorized Service partner.

  No, Vista 64 bit will not solve your problem. The fact is that this model of laptop only supports a maximum of 2 GB of Ram in total. For example, you can use one of your 2GB memory module.

I don't know if I app\drivers and recovery discs and don't know if it's even the fix. I could really use some help with this.
