Satellite P500 - noise varies and is too quiet

Hello again,

I had some problems with speakers this time.
Since there are Harmon/Kardon speakers installed in the computer, the sound itself is fine.
However, it is not.

Sound is too quiet, even if I listen to music on the max volume.
As well, I noticed the sound fluctuates all the time and there are crackling noises.
All audio drivers are up to date, but they did not help.

Could you please tell, what's the problem? Thank you!

Perhaps what is its volume in the drive that you use low upgraded? Select this check box.

Friend of mine has bought Satellite P500 last month. We have installed OS, created recovery discs and tested sound using Skype, Winamp, Windows Media Player and watch blu - ray discs.
With the sound, everything seems to be OK.

    Hello

Nice to read are do you like your new Satellite P500. My friend also bought new Satellite P500 and it is also very satisfied. It s a large notebook with fast and new hardware features. The design is fantastic, I must say.

  • Re: Satellite P500 - Wireless disappeared and are not not in Device Manager

    Hello

I had a P500 Satellite with Windows 7 weeks and on my network wireless at home, a few days ago the wireless on the laptop disappeared completely! Completely disappeared from the Device Manager, does not even appear as an unknown driver. Updated to the latest driver, but that has not solved anything, switch wireless is enabled, but the wireless near the switch icon is red and pressing fn + F8 does nothing. Its almost as if this laptop is not wireless! No mention of what anyone in the network connections.

Found something on the Toshiba said that updating the drivers, but that has not helped. Anyone else had this issue or know how to solve?

  • Satellite L500 - noise Squeak and mic/noise issues

    Hello
I hope you can help with my sound problems!

    I have a Satellite L500 which is 18mth old.

    * Something *.
In March, I had problems with my microphone / sound. If I had my volume of more than 50%, I would get a terrible grinding sound feedback that has been difficult to mute (IE due support on mute a couple of times).

As I got a 2-year warranty, I sent him away and they said they fixed it but is short-lived. The problem came immediately. The only solution I found to have its volume by more than 50% was to completely turn off the microphone.

    * Two problem *.
For the last few weeks I've been to randomly make this top placed, continuous his squealing that occurs usually when I am in public with my laptop in my backpack (annoying!). I have to continue to support on mute for the squeal to stop. Interestingly, my cell phone is cut off when it starts. Sometimes, my phone is hot when it occurs. Is this overheating problem?

All the solutions for both of my sound problems? Should I send it to get my warranty repair? When I argued that it was not fixed the first time, they said Windows is probably corrupt and is not under warranty.

    Thank you!

    Hello

What blue screen, you get exactly? Can you post the code as 0 x 00000123 bluescreen.
In addition, it would be important to know what operating system you have.

The beeps lift side of the keyboard can be disabled in the BIOS (BIOS setup > advanced > System Setup). There is an option called beep you have to disable.

  • Satellite P500 no internet and low resolution after installing Win 7

    Hello everyone :))

I had a serious virus on my system, so I had to reinstall Windows 7 completely.

However, I do not just roll back the system to its factory settings. Given that I had a Windows 7 disc I bought much earlier, I decided to use it to reinstall the whole system.

Now I don't know how to connect to my wireless network (before reinstalling, everything was fine, and I just had to choose my network in the list) and the display settings have changed: the maximum screen resolution is now 1280xsmth, at the front, it was much higher.

Could you tell me what is the problem?

Just a question; recover the laptop using the Toshiba or Toshiba HDD recovery recovery disk? Or have you installed a clean Win 7?

If you have installed own Win 7 then I guess that you didn't install the WLan driver and display driver.

  • Satellite P100-219 - sound is too quiet

    Got one with Conexant chip.
There is only one pilot there and probably defective. I can not access the property page, just the generic Volume control. Everything to the top and still too quiet sound, especially on headphones - barely audible.

In addition, the sound is in a bad mood and a jerk a little. It is understood for example when clicking on the volume slide a few times, it comes from the coughes and cracks.

All tried, even reinstall. Any ideas?

In addition, you can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for the audio driver update.
But I agree with the user above. The crackling could occur due to various processes that run in the background of the OS.

I recently bought a Satellite P500 PSPE8A-01R002 and the number lock is stuck and does not allow the use of the numeric keypad.
I have read other similar posts on this forum about the number lock being stuck and the given solution is to download the update of the BIOS.

When I go to the download page and enter the details of the laptop, a BIOS update for Vista 32 bit is available to be downloaded.
Can you advise what download will get out of the lock number.

    Hi mate

Where you look for the update of the BIOS?
This seems to be an Australian series for Toshiba laptop.
You will need to search on the Australian driver Toshiba for the BIOS page.

In addition, intimate case of BIOS is OS independent. Therefore, it should be possible to update also using Vista OS

  • Satellite P500/020 is too quiet

I just bought a new Satellite P500 and at full volume, is not yet strong enough to watch a movie, unless I have use headphones.

The audio output is also very poor, I have some external speakers that my old laptop will distort easily, this one wont.
I tried to adjust all volume controls and play with dolby but it just seems to have a very low output.

Could this be related to win7? I had to leave my old laptop when I want to listen to. Any suggestions?

    Hello

I had a similar problem in Vista and Win7 and I need to check the sound settings and make sure that noise was going to the speakers rather than another device.

Right click of its (speaker) icon on the toolbar and check that the playback device is correctly set to 'speakers' - Mine also says Conexant Pebble high definition Smart Audio Defalt Device.

There is also a Volume Mixer here option to balance the sounds throughout the system for dfferent applications. Here I have also noticed that when you start a player or the browser you get a new option for its control so double check it when you start your movie.

    Good luck

  • Satellite P500 - Solution how to operate sound on XP 32-bit and 64-bit

    Hi all..
Now, I write here how I did something that seems impossible...
I mean sound running on a computer satellite phone / qosmio p500/505 300/500
and other models with Conexant sound card high definition on x 32 / x 64 Windows XP sp2/sp3...
I know that many of us have a problem to run any noise at all,
the fundamental problem is that Windows XP doesn't have a built-in driver files
are responsible for the recognition of the last sound based on the high-definition audio cards.
Latest patch for kb888111 system published by Microsoft to address this issue was published in 2005
and does not appear in the files that recognize the latest Conexant sound card.

next problem is the correct driver. Toshiba has not released XP drivers for the card its Conexant
for computer laptop qosmio / satellite 500 / 505, so you should find and use the drivers supplied by
the manufacturers of other computer models. most of the pilots and the best have to download Lenovo and Dell.
Personally I used to run the sound in my P500 drivers downloaded from the web site of Dell
more important in the downloaded drivers, then to install is to edit. INF file that is located in the folder
with the drivers. This file is a textfile and then edit it in Notepad.
Edition. INF file is trolling in the path to the identification of our equipment.
Hardware ID can be found for example in the Device Manager tab in the detroit, video controllers and games.
for most new toshiba laptop hardware id is:

    %HdAudioFunctionDriver.Pebble5071.DeviceDesc% = HdAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_14F1 & DEV_5069 & SUBSY S_1179FFD4

but it can vary so please check it on your computer!

Those who have managed to run the sound will certainly have to deal with another problem,
After restarting the computer no sound and the computer loses the drivers and settings
and next to the watch does not appear on the "speaker" icon. This problem is also resolved by me below.

    Now to work...
I assume that you have already installed XP x 32 or x 64, but not yet executed a sound.
to run the sound, install the chipset driver, then the kb888111 patch.
    If all goes well,
the devices of the system device manager tab you should found 2 entries "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio".
where are these 2 entries, click on each of them, right click and select "update driver".
then you select "install from a list or specific location" and point to the location where you saved the
files that you have downloaded from the link n ° 1
Don't FORGET not to confuse it and do not try to update the x 32 system using file system designed for X 64 and vice versa
When we updated the system should automatically detect the sound card in Device Manager should be of about
5 points to mark yellow, four belong to Nvidia and one for the Conexant High Definition Audio HD audio.
Now, install the driver from the Nvidia graphics card that contains the audio driver. After the restart of the installation
After the computer restarts. Enter the Device Manager and it is more 5 yellow question mark points,
is the only one this one belongs to map its Conexant, make right click on this one in yellow and
Select 'update driver' and select 'install from a list or specific location ".
and point to the location where you saved the files that you downloaded from the link n ° 2
pointing hand and force the installation of driver. After installation, you enjoy the sounds.
Don't FORGET not to confuse it and do not try to update the x 32 system using file system designed for X 64 and vice versa

link n ° 2, includes the drivers that I have edited and I use myself
in my Toshiba Satellite P500 - 1 CG. What are the drivers for XP x 32 and x 64 sp2/sp3

  • Satellite P500 - freezing when inactive, the his and other questions

    Hello

I have a Satellite P500 (bought in January) with Windows 7 and I've always had and some problems with it since I bought it:

-First of all, my serial number is not for the toshiba Web site, which is annoying when I want to update my drivers. In addition, automatic detection does not work. And when AI attempt to manually select the model, the only available is the "P500-1GN' (I'm sure that my model is just"P500").

-Second, sometimes, when I don't touch my computer for a few minutes/hours, it freezes and I can't do anything on this subject, I just reboot it. Sometimes, I take just the mouse, the cursor still moves but I can't click on anything and 5 seconds later, the cursor hangs also. Another time, I was chatting on Skype (voice chat) without touch to the computer and when I will come back, the seams of frozen screen, I couldn't do anything with the keyboard or the mouse, but I could still chat with Skype.

-Thirdly, I also have some problems of sound. When I listen to music and do nothing on the computer, no problem. But if I do something (like go on inernet, copiing files, etc...), I have some very annoying noise interference. I try with the speakers and headphones, it's the same thing.

-Fourth, less annying, then the others. When I type a text on the keyboard, somethings, the cursor from writing just go somewhere random in the text (it happens twice while I was typing this message...).

I tried to do a factory restore. Also, I have a version update of Avast, Spybot and Comodo Firewall, but I can not find the cause of these problems. I am wandering if I should ask for a replacement or something...

So... can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
Oh and sorry for my bad English.

    Hello

    > First of all, my serial number does not exist for the toshiba Web site, which is annoying when I want to update my drivers. In addition, automatic detection does not work. And when AI attempt to manually select the model, the only available is the "P500-1GN' (I'm sure that my model is just"P500").

LOL: D didn't you notice that the Toshiba driver page contains the series of laptop and has no lists the unique laptop models?
Satellite P500-1GN is a part of the series PSPGSE call with P500 PSPGSE

    > Second, sometimes, when I don't touch my computer for a few minutes/hours, it freezes and I can't do anything on this subject, I just reboot it. This may be related to different issues; problem in the system, memory problem, etc. graphics driver problem
However, check the advice posted by Akuma; try disabling the USB selective suspension tuning"in the Advanced Power Options

Update the audio driver is worth a try

I had the same problem with the cursor, but it wasn't a really a problem. This is the reason why the cursor jumped around I touchpad the touchpad accidentally while typing.

Hello all and thanks in advance for your help.

First of all, I wonder if the toshiba support center works for all products... try again with 'satellite', P500 and you find not 15th!

He continues with Toshiab Tempro... I can't validate my serial number...

However, I wanted to update my Nvidia GT 330 M driver to the latest version 314.22 but can't fnd any info on the OEM driver...

Best regards and good luck to everyone!

    >... try with 'satellite', then P500 and you will find no 15th!
On this forum, you can find hundreds of threads with the same question and the same answer: to find your model, you must choose the short model number and not this part of the model name. THERE

our P500 a short model number * PSPGSE * please visit Toshiba download page http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check it once more.

Latest drivers will be there. I have the model PSPG8E, original use Toshiba driver and don t have still no problem with video performance.

  • Satellite P500 and eSATA slowdown system and start

    Hello
To connect an external drive eSATA system immediately slows to a crawl. A boot would take longer than 30 minutes (not waited so he can start windows) and the drive never shows up when it is plugged since within windows.

    I have a satellite P500 (PSPGSA - 01 G 003) with Win 7 x 64 and 2.9 (latest) BIOS.

I did a little reading in what the problem might be and have:

Most of the tips are for "esata disks must be connected before starting for them to be recognized", but then startup is so slow that I can not get into Windows.
Tried this IDE and back to AHCI in the BIOS.
Considered "looking for new hardware' in Win7 after having connected the drive/turn on.
Insured AHCI was enabled through the registry.
Disk management - check the player never appears.
Tried downgrading the chip set driver (later).

To disconnect the cable from the computer immediately accelerating upward.

EDIT: Just started in ein7 with the drive connected but it was not acknowledged.

    All thoughts are welcomed.

    Thank you.

    Hello

S far away I know that the eSATA port supports a hot swap function. This means that you can connect the eSATA drive to the laptop after windows system started.

Have you installed the latest Intel Management Engine Interface driver? (different chipset drive!)

Remember also that this driver AHCI in Windows 7 can be activated via the registry.
YPU may modify the following two values of subkey to 0:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-System \CurrentControlSet------Services------Msahci
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ FAT32\ CurrentControlSet-Services-IastorV
