Satellite P70 - how to use the second HARD drive?

I have recently bought a satellite P70 - A - 10 d.

I see that there is no second location on hard disk, so I can install a second disk.
You can see the second slot in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW75IsuFeoY.

But I can't understand how screed the disc.
Do I need additional items for it or he'll be safe just plug the drive and leave it without screws?

Hello

If the second HARD drive bay contains the HARD drive connector, you can connect the HARD drive using the 2.5 HARD disk as [this | http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/images/TOS-X505%20sm.jpg] a

  • How to use the second HARD drive of Satellite A210 - BP1 for mirroring

Satellite A210-BP1 came with 2 HDD (160 GB).
Now, I want to use the second hard drive mirrored the first, one that has Vista installed.
This should be done without supervision and in real time - as a RAID 1.

    How can I do this?
I also have Vista professional available and I would be willing to use 3rd party software as well.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hi Jan

I doubt that this is possible
Why? The point is that you need to use two hard drives in mirroring, RAID striping, mode etc technology
Satellite A210 can't RAID. It s only a SATA controller without RAID capacity!

Therefore, the final answer is; NO, it is not possible to use mirroring

  • Re: How to use the second hard drive in Satellite A300?

I got a second hand Satellite A300 which was to be thrown out due to a defective DVD.
I fixed the DVD and have a perfect system.

On opening the box, I discovered that there 2 x 250 GB hard drives. I checked CMOS and show the 2 drives. However, Vista displays only the a drive.

Excuse my ignorance, but how do I access to the second drive?

I have Satellite A300 with two hard drives and each HARD drive has another operating system. Both hard drives are recognized correctly.
I put t know what the problem is here, but the two hard disks should be recognized automatically.
Try to set the BIOS to default settings and check again.
Try to start the check and install Microsoft bootable disk if the two hard disks are displayed in Setup.

I just hope that there is not a hardware problem.

  • How to install the second hard drive in the Satellite A200-1 of body weight?

I see my new Satellite A200-1 of body weight has two hard drive bays, the research in the second span, I don't see how a second drive can be mounted as the plug into the Jack seems to be missing.

What parts do I have to mount to place a second drive that they are held in stock by out of the local computer and are quite cheap, can someone advise me on part numbers etc of the bits I need.
    Thank you
    Steve

    Hello

I know that this empty place for second HARD drive is a bit confusing, but the same situation is with my A200-1CR. The fact is that some A200 models come with 2 hard drives and laptop case design this place must be prepared for this second HDD.

But this does not mean that each A200 can be improved for the second HARD drive.

  • Satellite A350-122 - how to install the second HARD drive?

    Hello

I'm a french owner of an A350-122 (serial no: 39169719K)

In the french of the manual user, page 1-5, it is written that it is possible to insert another disc hard, and on page 2-6, the rear of the A350-122 view shows a second branch on the left for a second hard drive.

So, I bought an SSD Intel X 25-M to put in the second location. I opened the second location and there is nothing: no sata, no power connector connector, only a location empty.

So, what's the problem with this Satellite A350-122?

    Thank you for your response.

    Hey Buddy,

I agree with the user above. Not all Satellite A350 models support a second HDD. The point is that laptops are country specific products and this feature is not available everywhere. In addition, all models A350 by using the same notebook case in order to have a crack but no connector.

In any case, you can use t a second HDD. :(

  • How to use the 2nd hard drive internal for storage?

Hi, I am a newbie in all of this. I would use the 2nd internal hard drive of our mac mini server (end 2012) for storage (in fact, I'll things rsync from a remote server to here. but this is not the point here.). The thing is, I don't know how to access the 2nd internal hard drive and where to start. • Re: Satellite X 200 - connector to the second HARD drive

    Hello...
    I bought Toshiba X 200 last year.

My problem is not all connectors in my second hard drive location. like this http://img257.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10112007572fh4.jpg
But some models are fitted with a connector. http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=21269219uk7.jpg

I guess I need something like this. http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hpcaddydv9000connectorakg0.jpg

I find and it is working well?
    Thank you.

Boyfriend sorry but I think that if you don t have a second HARD drive connector you can t use a second HDD.
In addition it of not possible to add a such HARD drive connector.

If you need more disk space, you must exchange the first HARD drive or you use an external HARD drive to save your files on it.

  • Elitebook8770W HARD drive Corruption as soon as I use the second HARD drive!

    Hello

I would really appreciate help with this issue, as I've already lost my data on my drive main HARD more then 4 times!

As mentioned, I have an Elitebook8770W and I can't install two internal hard drives on this laptop. I had this idea of having windows

installed on two hard drives. So if I have a problem with one of the Windows I start with the other disk by choosing

BIOS during startup and be able to repair or do a restore with Acronis.

My laptop comes with a cache flash 24gig M-sata device that accelerates the disc 1. Obviously to do this my records

are defined as raid in bios. But the most frustrating is that sometimes when I choose to start with the second drive after windows

load I do not see more the first hard drive in windows and if so I try to start, my first disk, the disk is not bootable and

most of the time MBR corrupted and the disc is in RAW format.

I just want to know what is the problem? What am I do wrong and how to prevent this from happening again power

Start with two hard drives that I need to have windows separately different config and software for different jobs.

  • How to do the second hard drive as main hard drive and move the files to the first hard drive to the second.

Original title: How to I can't remove my 1st hard drive program files?

Basically, I got a new laptop for games with Windows 7 on it, and I know almost nothing about computers. So it all starts on my SSD (180 GB) and I want to move to my 2nd hard drive (750 GB) HHD. I want to keep windows and steam (platform game) on my SSD and move almost everything on my other hard drive.  When I move everything on it works, but when I try and do a right-click and delete the programs or program filex (x 86) it says I don't have permission. So I give myself permission and ownership of the program files, but it does not work. I tried to remove anything that did not come on the computer and what I just said try again, but it still does not work.  I have tried myself giving full ownership of readers, but it still does not work. He always tells me that I need permission from myself. Is any way for me to have my computer recognizes the HHD as the primary drive, and then I can move Windows and Steam my SSD? And all that would remove? (If yes let me know if I can put the drivers I have on a flash, so they are removed). Any help or advice would be great! Thanks for reading and you're time and effort!)

    P. S.
Do not forget that I know little to nothing about computers, so just assume I know nothing and give me instructions step by step, if it is possible.
    May peace be with you,
    Alex

Basically, you can not, you need to uninstall the programs, then custom Setup to the location/reader of your choice, even in this case a lot of files will always be located on your windows disk.

When you install a program many entries are written to the registry, if you try to move a program, if you can, the registry entries will be incorrect then the program will stop working.

  • Satellite Pro P70 - Has: 2nd invisible HARD drive - how to initialize the 2nd HARD drive

    I have a P70 - A. Satellite Pro
'Primary' hard disk failed, and has been replaced by the service centre.

Now, only the main hard drive is shown and the Service Center said that I had to 'initialize' the second hard drive to make it visible. They assure me that the hard drive is there, just hidden.

    How can I make visible?
    How do I initialize it?

Usually, you can initialize the disk by DiskManagement.

In disk management, right-click the disk you want to initialize and then click on initialize disk.
In the dialog box initialize the disk, select the disk to initialize.
You can choose to use the master boot record (MBR) or the style of partition GUID partition table (GPT).

Once a disk is initialized, you can create partitions on it.
After you create a partition, you can format the partition to create a filesystem (NTFS).

  • How to set up the second hard drive

My Mac Pro has two, the hard drives of 1 TB.  I had originally planned on the use of the second hard drive for Time Machine.  However, instead of using Time Machine, I now save by cloning my first hard drive to an external hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.  I did not use Time Machine in a year and do not expect that I have to use more.

My first hard drive fills up-I have about 150 GB unused on it, and with video editing I'm is squeezed.  What is the best way to configure my system so that I can use my second, now sleeping, hard drive? Is it possible of them gang up together so that my system will behave as if there is a 2 TB HDD?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes. It is called RAID.

  • Satellite Pro L50 - a: how to replace the memory, HARD drive and battery

I just uploaded 2 new video from Youtube on the L50 - A. Satellite Pro

The first is a tear down showing how to replace the memory, hard drive and battery (you can also clean the fan if it detects overheating).

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=IG0lW7t92bI

BTW why they made it so difficult to get just to the battery in this model?

WARNING - proceed at your own risk and don't forget static precautions!

Hope they help and if you have any questions let me know.

+ The message was edited: link has been removed ad channel may not +.

Thanks for these videos. It may be useful to replace the memory, but I think that the owners of the laptop should not open the case. This may void the warranty.
    Be careful about this.

  • Satellite A200-1 s 5 - can I use a second HARD drive and RAID?

    Hi all

Toshiba Satellite A200-1 s 5 is eligible to add a second hard drive? It has RAID controller as much I know - it might help?

    Thank you
    Denis

If you have a SATA connector in the second HARD drive Bay, you can use a second HDD. Check it!
Then you can buy each disc HARD what you want with SATA port.

The Satellite A200 doesn't have a RAID controller.

  • Setting up the second hard drive preinstalled

I have a Pavilion m9250f equipped of Windows Vista 64-bit with two 500 GB hard drives.  The first hard disk is almost at capacity (available 15%), and I want to know how to set up the second disc for use.

    Hello

The SATA controller mode setting is in the bios. F10 will get you into the bios. Back up your data before attempting to make any changes.  If you use the RAID mode then then you will need to enter the Intel RAID CTRL + I utility at startup to disable the parring.  RAID 1 is extra protection in case you have a hard drive failure.  If you disable the RAID 1 parring so be sure to perform backups at a frequency you can live if you experience a hard drive failure.  When the RAID 1 parring is disabled, then the second hard drive will be available for data storage (more than 500GB).  If get you there, then you can do a quick format on the second hard drive.  Now you should be able to move the folders you want to the second hard drive.
