  • I just had a new hard drive installed (with XP), and no matter where I set the resolution, everything seems to be stretched horizontally

I just had a new hard drive installed with XP, and no matter what I set the resolution to, everything now looks stretched horizontally.  I don't have this problem with the old hard drive containing XP

If you did a clean installation of XP, then you must install the hardware drivers for your components. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC, then download and install the latest Windows XP drivers for your model.

  • How to get a product key, that I had a new hard drive installed in the computer shop and it seems that there is no key for windows 7

    Original title: window 7

Hi can one tell me how to get a product key, that I had a new hard drive installed in the computer shop and it seems that there is no key for windows 7, I just brought Office 2016 and he did not finish the load down with the windows key 7.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • Satellite M30x - new HARD drive does not work

    Hello.

I am installing a new ATA 2.5 "internal hard drive for my Toshiba M30X-166. The drive is a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 120 GB model. The laptop does not recognize the disc and no related error message appears, and in the BIOS, it shows as "HD not available."

I put this drive in an external USB - IDE enclosure and was detected by my desktop PC, and I was able to partition and format the Momentus, so I know the drive is indeed work, but my M30X still does not detect the drive.

What can I do to make the laptop recognize this unit? The BIOS M30X is: Phoenix EAL20 version 1.90.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello!

Have you tried another HARD drive? The new HARD drive is may not compatible with the laptop or does work does not correctly.

Normally, a 120 GB HARD drive should work because the laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits and so you can only use hard drives 120 GB.
In the worst cases, the HARD disk on the motherboard controller is defective :(

    Good bye

  • installed a new hard drive install vista and full custom

I bought a new hard drive for my laptop and I tried several times to re - install windows vista, I have not yet defined a partition, but I don't think that should affect the initial installation. I can get windows installed the first reboot and after it goes to a screen installation complete and remains on for about 20 minutes, after that I get a black screen with a cursor. I'm clueless as to what is the question.

    Hello

You can't push Dell by providing Microsoft DVD

    but you can ask

all they do is provide you with a way to reinstall vista, they have done

HP is one that you hear about with replacements parts not OEM

This is Dells use this DVD

or borrow a microsoft vista dvd. not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • New hard drive install OS

I have the original Vista OS on my desk m9452p.  IM is about to install a new hard drive.  Vista doesn't let me start dvd via the Recovery Manager.  Is anyway that I can get around that, if not I have no way to load an operating system on my new hard drive.  The former there is also a factory recovery disc recorded in it.  Is that I'm screwed and a new OS.

The intent of the recovery Partition is to reinstall the operating system as it was from the factory.  For Vista, which won't be a HUGE back.  Are you sure this is what you want?  This means that all the updates and everything you've added since then (when you first started the computer, when it's new) will be lost.  If everything works with the old hard drive, I would use a cloning software to make the new drive hard all along with the former.  This way, everything is kept.  If you mind not to return to the "cool facorty" PC then use the set of recovery DVDs that you made when the PC was new, or make one now.  See HERE

  • Sleekbook 4-1115dx: new hard drive installed on 4-1115DX

    Hello

I recently lost my disk hard but fortunately saved using AOEMI Backupper.  I bought a new hard drive 500 GB and installed but now it was ' 32 GB SSD Drive is redundant?

How to re - activate the fast RAID boot drive. When I use the software RAID is watch the 32 GB drive connected a 0 GB of disk. My new drive then shows below. I can't talk with the new SSD HARD drive.  I did something wrong, because I can't seem to find an answer.

PS UEFI installed but eventually wipe all drives inc recovery drive when the HARD drive crashed.

    Thanks in advance guys

For some reason, it's not unusual on a HP. You must break the existing table that has the mSATA player trapped. It is "degraded". You must cancel the table and then the rebuid it and then use to speed up. You can do this via the tab 'manage '.

  • New hard drive, installed Windows XP PRO version 2002 - resolution screen and internet problems

My Dell has had some problems (patially due to age), so a buddy of mine and I put a new hard drive in it and then installed windows XP Pro.  Installation went great, but now that it's installed, I can not get the screen resoultion to change and I can't connect to the internet.  I feel like with the internet, can I have a driver problem.  I know that the internet works, I'm on it with the laptop right now.  Any suggestions?

????  I'm not sure I understand your question. You download the drivers to a place, you will find them, as the office. If you want to put them on a USB stick, copy the files downloaded to the key and take it to the computer target. Copy the files on the computer desktop. Double-click on a file and it will unpack the installation routine starts. Follow the installation wizard. Reset when said to repeat as needed until all the drivers, etc are installed. Subsequently, you can delete the downloaded files from Dell (from installation .exe). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
