Satellite P750 - upgrade of RAM Possible?

Is the maximum capacity memory of a custom built P750 only 8 GB with an I5 or I7 processor?

I'm about to buy a new laptop, but the Toshiba scalability is a concern when others seem to sell the exact same internals but a maximum memory capacity of 16 GB of advertising.

Thank you.

Hello

The upgrade of RAM depends on the chipset which is mounted on the motherboard.
As far as I know the some of the P750 are equipped with Chipset Mobile Intel HM65.
So as much as I know that you can upgrade the RAM up to 8 GB. In this case, you can use 2 x 4 GB RAM max

Welcome them

    > And I know that this may be a shot in the water, but is it possible to update the graphics card at all?
No, the graphics card can not be upgraded

    > It's currently a Satellite A100 (PSAARA) with 2 GB of RAM. What type of RAM upgrade I could on this system? And what code PIN?

I think modules laptop use the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM, but AFAIK the 2 GB of RAM is max and this would mean that it of not possible to upgrade to 4 GB or more

But to be 100% sure, you should consult your user manual.

I found on the internet for about £30-40, and it declares compatible with the Satellite A660.

    Thank you.

    You should check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=233069

You will find great shots of keyboard backlight and some information
You should check if the motherboard supports an additional connector called JBLG and is located on the right side of the connector of the main keyboard.
If it is available, then you can update the device with a supported keyboard backlight.

  • XPS 18-1820 AIO - upgrade of ram possible on refurbished computers? Dell chat said no.

    Hello

I am interested in buying a refurbished XPS 1820 AIO on the outlet site. Each of them in the output are configured with 4 GB of ram. I would like to at least 8 GB. When I spoke with a representative of dell on the site, he told me that 4 GB is the maximum ram, it can take.

I've read elsewhere that the 1820 can take up to 16 GB of ram. So what is true here? Is it misinformed, maybe Dell takes the extra slot on the refurb? Are they just say that because they don't want the people to open them?

    Thank you

Yes, I just installed a Samsung EVO 850 512 GB in there, which is a double keyed SSD and it works correctly.

My refurb unit also came with 8 GB of RAM, even if advertised with 4 which was a nice bonus...

One thing I noticed is that USB dongle for the keyboard and the mouse was NOT installed inside and was just in the keyboard box.  I have it installed in internal inside the USB port so that both external ports are always available.

  • Satellite A305-S6857: is it possible to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM

Current installation is 4 GB of RAM (2 by 2)...
Is it possible to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM? (2 * 4)?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Here you will find a data sheet of this laptop

    [Detailed satellite A305 Specification | http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/product/pdf_files/detailed_specs/satellite_A305-S6857.pdf]

As you can see there's something about the max RAM: maximum capacity 4096MB

Therefore, 8 GB RAM upgrade is not possible.

    I have the Satellite A100 - 011 (PSAARE) and I just upgraded memory RAM of 4 GB 2x2gb Kingston (KTT533D2 / 2G).
BIOS can see all my 4 GB installed, so my windows (x 64) but my task manager shows me 3069 Mo!
How is that possible? Is it possible to fix this? My BIOS version is 6,00.

    Hello!

Are you sure that you have a 64-bit version of Windows XP?
I ask this question because the Web from Toshiba website does no drivers for Windows XP 64-bit.

If you really have a 64 bit OS make sure that you have installed all Service Packs and patches from Microsoft.

And install a program such as Everest and watch this program shows the amount of RAM.

  • Satellite P10 804 will not accept the upgrade of RAM

Apologies, this is it is a bit long and also if this question has been covered elsewhere here: I had a good nose autour and have not found something that seems to help.

In any case, I had a Satellite P10 804 during these past years, I bought in the United Kingdom.

Quite early in my time with this laptop, I upgraded the RAM. It was 3 or 4 years ago, when memory was not as cheap right now, so I bought just a single 1 GB module. P10-804 will take up to 2 GB of RAM.

The P10 804 came with 512 GB as standard in two modules. My upgrade means I got 1.25 GB, which was in very good health. Everything was fine until the end of last year when the defective laptop; I followed the fault in module 1 GB of RAM. It was a bit awkward since I now live in New Zealand. However, the provider of the RAM was very professional, stood by their warranty, and we arranged a swap. RAM prices had fallen, so I bought another module of 1 GB at the same time upgrade the laptop completely.

Now the problems really started. The laptop would not simply work with the new installed RAM modules. It would work with one alone, nor even less with my old configuration of a module of 1 GB and 256 GB module. Start and run for five minutes before a freeze; white screen with fans roar; blue screen; frozen screen normal with strange objects; No start at all. everything.

Everything that works now is my original 256 MB module (his partner disappeared). This leads me to assume that I don't have some sort of hardware failure?

1 GB modules are DDR333 SODIMM, CL2.5. This laptop will also have the DDR266 modules, and it has been suggested to me, lower speed might work. I can try this option since the RAM prices are * really * low now, especially if I get confirmation of this as a valid strategy possible.

The laptop BIOS is updated to v2.00 (maybe?), and I also upgraded the HDD to a 120 GB unit (this works very well and is partitioned for XP and Linux). And from time to time I empty the fan.

Any advice welcome. Thanks for reading.

Reading your message, I came to the conclusion that this issue must be linked to the new RAM module and this module is malfunctioning or is not fully compatible with your laptop.

The P10 can be upgraded to 2 GB, so you should be able to use two single RAM 1 GB modules

So it must be a module problem

  • Satellite P105 - upgrade to 4 GB RAM

    Hi all

I want to upgrade the RAM in my Satellite P105 to 4 GB. There are currently 2 x 1 GB of RAM. In order to
buy the largest RAM and I need to know the model number of the computer that I have trouble finding.

Any suggestions on how I can find it or if it is necessary to have this to buy the correct upgraded RAM.
Once the RAM installed there at - it else I need to do to make it work.

The upgrade of RAM will make much difference to the overall speed of the computer. I know that the computer can accept up to 4GB.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Derek

To have 4 GB of RAM (the maximum possible RAM for your laptop platform), you need to purchase blocks of 2 x 2 GB DDR2 RAM. The maximum speed of RAM (533, 667, 800, or 1 066 MHz) makes no difference in the speed of your laptop, because your RAM runs at the same speed as the speed of the FSB of your processor (I think that your processor 533 MHz FSB). There is no 533 MHz RAM already in stock in our days, 667 MHz RAM is always available. 800 MHz RAM (PC 6400) is the cheapest for our time so you can buy it.

I have another question for you: why do you want to have 4 GB of RAM? To install 64-bit Windows?
You can install 64 bit OS if you have Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion 64 X 2 processor. Intel Celeron and Intel's Core Duo processor does not support 64-bit system. But I don't think that the installation of the 64-bit operating system can increase the speed of your laptop as your chipset (I think you have Intel 945 GM/PM) supports 64-bit computing, but still doesn't give advanced 64 bit on 32-bit systems productivity the.
In the 64-bit operating system only some programs (specially designed for 64-bit computing) work faster.

  • Satellite T135-SP2909C - HD to the SSD upgrade, is it possible?

    Hi guys.
    I own a Toshiba Satellite T135-SP2909C.
The hard drive is broken, so I think buy a SSD drive, but I wonder if it will work on my laptop.
How would I know if the SSD hard drive work with my laptop?

I'm thinking of buying this SSD drive.
    Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC128MAG - 1 1 2.5 ITS (128 GB, SATA)

If it is not possible to use SSDS with this laptop, think you on Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB?
Seagate ST95005620AS Momentus XT 500 GB Solid State Drive hybrid - 500 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA 3 Gb/s

I guess this drive work on my laptop, but still, I'm not 100% sure.

Does anyone have to upgrade this laptop to a disc SSD or Seagate Momentus XT?

    Concerning

I agree with Akuma. In General, upgrading should be possible, but due to compatibility issue no one can say with certainty if some SSD works properly or not.

I just hope that some other T135 owners will offer more specific information about these updates.

Talk with your dealer and ask if there is possibility to make SSDS if something is wrong.

Please post comments on the upgrade.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A120-189 - RAM who do I take for the upgrade?

    Hello everyone

I want to upgrade the RAM for my Satellite Pro A120-189, model number PSACIE-05V021EN, as the laptop is quite slow (I use Vista 32 bit business).
I was wondering what is the maximum RAM for my laptop, and how compatible RAM module I might add (for now, I have 1 GB of RAM).

Thank you in advance for your help!
    Best
    Husband

    Hello

I checked the specification of your laptop on the Toshiba page and this laptop can be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. This is why you must use two modules of 2 GB with DDR2 (533 MHz) technology.

You can get new RAM to each computer store or authorized service provider. I have good experiences with high-quality Kingston modules.

  • Satellite M45-S169 - overheating and the upgrade card RAM/graphics

    Hello

I have need some answers and solace to the questions I have on my laptop. Here are the following questions:

Laptop overheating fast enough, hereby, I mean in about 10 minutes, the laptop Burns upward. It is the model or is there something wrong with it? I can't keep the laptop without maintaining that it plugged into the wall at all times. That this has something to do with my battery like that I need a new?

I am able to install the new RAM * (2 GB Max) and if yes, someone knows how it slots are for this model? (Not really opened to check because I'm bad to put things together after taking them apart)

I am able to install a new graphics card for the laptop or I'm stuck with ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 M Series? (and if it is not too much to ask, is the graphics card, I have good, bad, or so - so)

Sorry if there are too many questions, but it would be really nice if I get the answers to all these.

    Hi Honu_2,

(1.) you should clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans and read this article please:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=40

2.) Yes, it seems that you need a new battery if your laptop only works with AC/DC adapter connected.

3.), you should check your owner's manual. As far as I know this model supports up to 2 GB of RAM. This means that you can install 1 GB into the two slots.

(4.) the graphics card upgrade is not possible because it s/set soldered on the motherboard and your laptop is designed only for the preinstalled graphics card.

By the way: these questions are already answered here. Check out the forum for similar topics, you will find many interesting things! ;)

You must understand that the hardware update on mobile machinery is quite limited due to the special construction and cooling system. • Satellite A30 - upgrade RAM

I was wondering if it is possible to get an upgrade of ram for my A30? I have an extension connector. If so, where can you offer me that I buy it from?

    Thank you!

    Tom Ward
    Cambridge, UK

    Hello

You can buy the ram modules where you want, but be sure that these modules are supported and compatible.
Do you know which module you use?
If this isn't the case, I found a nice info site:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=7241&ft=m&St=3

According to this site, you can use PC2100 200 pin SODIMM (266 MHz) DDR modules.
From my experience, you must order a Kingston or Toshiba modules because the performance is very good. Don t trust the market good memory modules as these modules are no piece of name with bad quality and performance

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300D-161 - I want to upgrade the RAM to 4 GB

Hello, I want to upgrade my RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB.

The laptop box, said the other: 2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz, but when I check the CPU - Z it says 400 Mhz

    http://img140.imageshack.us/i/cpuz1.PNG/
    http://img267.imageshack.us/i/cpuz2.PNG/

The website of toshiba says also 800 Mhz, so wich 1 I need to buy?
    1 x 2 GB DDR2 - 400 Mhz
    or
    2 x 2 GB DDR2 - 800 Mhz

Also, I wonder when I switch to 4 GB, the amount of memory will be dedicated to my video card?

    Thank you

    Hello

CPU - Z is definitely wrong! Satellite Pro A300D-161 needs DDR2-800 MHz to upgrade according to the specs on the Toshiba site.
If the information on the laptop box is correct.

More video RAM will be assigned automatically and with 4 GB of RAM you will get more memory video too.
