Satellite P855 and Win8 - would like to delete the recovery partition

In fact, I would like to remove the recovery on my new P855 Satellite partition using diskpart. Now I have some problems/uncertainty (of course I have already created the recovery DVDs):

1: when I look in Disk Management on my Windows 8, there are 2 recovery partitions! a small beginning of the disc (450 MB), a bigger at the end of the disc (8,66 GB). I'm a little confused about this. There is not usually a single recovery partition? Are - this two recovery partitions from toshiba for windows 8?

2: I read somewhere that it can occure problems with the system by deleting the recovery partition. is there a risk if I delete the above two recovery partitions? (not to mention that I don't have the recovery of files on the hard drive more) May - so that it affects the stability or the ability of the system?

As I don't want to take the risk, I crash my system, I hope that someone knows about it!

Thank you guys

see you soon

And why you want to delete the recovery partition?
Its best to leave it as it is in case, you want to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings.

I guess that one was created by Win 8. It contains the files to fix the system in case something would be a mistake of the last partition seems to be Toshiba that contains the recovery image files.

Deletion of partition of Toshiba should not (usually) affects the ability of the system to the laptop, but nevertheless, you must create a recovery disk before you remove anything on the HARD drive.
The recovery disc will return to the factory settings in case, that the system could be confused to the top.

    Hi Greg,.

You won't lose any application on the computer.

You can remove a user from the license and assign it to another user according to the help below document:

    Original title: return to old

I would like to delete the new window 10 on my laptop. Once I did the research where and how, there no trace I can restored back. Also, most of the new system running on 8 GB of RAM and I use 6 GB Rams; and I think that it bogged my system
I'm operating system of game which is 5 years old. All the previous function jets which has been programmed in, volume, keyboard backlight and brightness screen that all control no longer work and I search by manufacturers where nothing was mentioned.
My DVD player is broken and I can't use the drive with my product key.
Any suggestion on solving this problem. I'll be happy to have my window 7 return or upgrade my portable computer time for a new game system with window 10.

  • Format HARD drive, delete the recovery partition and recover with disc

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite C660D-17F and want to format my HDD, remove the recovery partition and recover the preinstalled Windows 7 and other software. I don't want to keep my own data, which are all stored already, I just want to be sure I can safely restore preinstalled stuff. I have a few questions that I need help to clear up before I go ahead.

Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition? If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?

I found [this post | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/items/faq/71] which explains the recovery process. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that? It will restore the OS and the software for the backup of dvd drive? Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?

    Added SIDENOTE:
I actually prefer to be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I'm after. Or is there a way?

Sorry, I know that was a long post, but I want to be sure of what will happen BEFORE I'll and spoil things! :) If you got this far, thanks for reading. :)

    Hello

I will try to offer help. ;)
    > Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition?
Yes. Saved on recovery discs recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools and some additional software.
    > If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?
Preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator make recovery disc that includes the recovery image only. It has nothing to do with your personal data.
    > I found this post that explains the process of recovery. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that?
After that, you should use recovery disks created for the recovery image installation.
    > Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?
When you use the recovery disc for your laptop recovery image installation will have factory settings which include the recovery saved on the HARD disk image. To be honest I do not understand why you do not want to have this recovery image on the HARD drive. This allows the installation of recovery using recovery of HARD drive option. But of course you can delete it later for more free space on your HARD drive. Installation image that you can always use created for recovery discs-recovery DVDs.
    > I'd really rather be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I don't want after
    Fix.

  • Satellite L745: I deleted the recovery partition. What can I do now?

I bought a new laptop l745 and I found two hidden partition, I think that the recovery partition is only one. so I deleted the other
After that, I tried doing a recovery on DVD but I got a message "no recovery on the HARD drive" or something like that

How can I restore my recovery partition?
    :)

You cannot restore the recovery partition. It can be restored if you use the DVD of initial recovery for the installation of the OS. In this case, everything will be like before.

You created the recovery DVDs until you have deleted the recovery partition?

  • HP Envy Pheonix - move or delete the recovery partition

I just bought a HP Envy Pheonix 800 and there a 120 GB ssd for the OS.  Ago a second partition that is for recovery that is as I wish to move or to get rid of so that I can have the other space available for files such as 120 GB can fill up pretty fast.

If I create a defined backup drive I'll be able to get rid of this partition and it is part of c:?

Or can the partition be moved safely to the other HD without any problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Marc

    Hello

As long as you create your recovery media set - see link below-, so it should be no problem deleting the partition (moving it usually breaks its functionality).  If you need to use the recovery media to perform a 'factory Reset', this process will reinstall the OS and recreate all of the original scores, including recovery D.

Create recovery media - Windows 8.

About the removal of the recovery partition, you can often do this through the application Recovery Manager as shown in the HP document on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810279

If this option is not available, you can simply delete the recovery Partition using Windows Disk Manager and extend c in the unallocated space.

    Kind regards

  • Meeting place for Dell 8 Pro 5855 - delete the recovery partition?

I just bought a place 8 Pro 5855. I did a recovery USB disk. I was wondering if there is a way to remove the recovery partition so that I can retrieve this internal storage space. I could try something like EaseUS or MiniTool, but I was wondering if there was another way that I wasn't aware of. Is there a reason why I should not delete the recovery partition? Thank you!

This is how I did it:

    1. run Diskpart (from Run or CMD prompt), don't worry he'll ask the elevation to Admin

    2. type: select disk 0 (main SSD)

    3. type: list of partition (to see the available partitions)

    4. type: select the partition 6 (my recovery partition, yours may be different)

    5. type: delete partition replacement (deletes the partition 6)

    6. type: select partition 5 (my Windows, to the area to recover partition deleted)

    7. type: extend (retrieves the space)

    8. type: exit

It worked for me on the DV8P 5830.

  • I have Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional on my computer. I would like to delete the XP Home.

I have Windows XP Home and XP Professional on my computer at home. It creates a nuisance for me and almost every time I restart the computer I need to boot from the CD of XP Professional. I would like to reformat the drive and install only XP Professional only. How do I do that?

I have already backed up some files I have so I have nothing to lose except the two BONES being problematic nuisance

You will need the installation CD. Insert the CD in the drive. Turn on the computer and look at the bottom or top for orders of F. If you have an order for the Boot Manager (usually F12) then keep hitting at the time wherever you turn on the computer. Select the option of CD drive to boot from the CD.

Note: If you do not have a Boot Manager option then you will need to go into your BIOS, sometimes called Setup (key F2 usually). You can get the boot option and change the boot priority. You do not want to move the CD player to the first on this list. Save and restart.

Follow the instructions and when you get to the screen that talks about partitioning, remove the partitions selected with the D key (it will erase all data on a disk (s)). Format using NTFS on the screen following and all simply continue with the installation after that.
