Satellite P855 - Flash Card Utility does not work
The Flash card utility on my laptop doesn't work anymore since a few months. I used to be able to for example just press F12 to turn WiFi on or off. I would like to see also the map at the top of the screen, showing the pictogram of the WiFi is enabled/disabled.
However, this no longer works.
If I now have to press F12, it simply works such as F12.
I need to press the Fn key and F12 to turn WiFi on or off.
I don't see the icons at the top of the screen more.
I don't remember a specific thing I have installed or made at the same time as the utility of the Flash Card stopped working. However, I made a lot of new facilities and the BIOS updates.
When I click on start > all programs > Toshiba > tools & utilities > Flash cards, I can change the settings.
However, everything I try, it won't work.
The version of the utility that I have now is version 188.8.131.52. I have also installed the utility of the card Flash again after you download it on the Toshiba site. It does not help as well.
I have a Toshiba Satellite P855 with Windows 7 (64-bit). Hope someone can help me solve this problem. Thank you!

You can enable and disable in the BIOS.
Go to BIOS (F2)-> Advanced tab-> the system setup
Here you can find the option called function keys mode (without pressing FN first)
Don t forget to save changes made in the BIOS before leaving the BIOS settings.
My internal card reader does not work. I think that I have not yet installed the driver, or may have other reasons, I don't know. Please show me how to find and install this driver.
Can you please check the Device Manager and tell us if any unknown device is listed there?
I use windows 7 ultimate x 64 on L500-126, the new win7 x 64 drivers are available since yesterday...
However, maps (Fn Hotkeys) Flash still does not work after the installation of the new VAP. Flash cards can appear at the top of my screen, I can click on them with the mouse, but the Fn combinations work not at all!
I noticed that there is a downloadable driver called "support Flash Cards", even, I installed this app, the problem still remains.
Then I uninstalled VAP and kept "Support Flash Cards", to my surprise, the combination Fn + F6 and F7 (brightness adjustment) worked! However, without VAP I couldn't use other combinations.
Are there still problems with the new VAP for win 7 x 64?
P.S. The new "hardware configuration" seems to be a problem as well, I tried to change some configurations in this application but after re-boot, all options are returned.

I have a Satellite M40-307 (PSM44E), and I had a problem with the utility "accessibility", which displays an icon in the notification bar of Windows XP, to inform the user if the "Fn" key is active or not.
This utility would not work for the administrator would not worry so much, because the administrator is supposed to know what he does. But the limited user doesn't have access, that bother anymore.
In Administrator, this utility works quite well. But during a session of limited user, if I try to launch it in [runas / user: admin "C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\Windows Utilities\TACSPROP.exe"],
I am replied that the file TCMSVR. DLL is not found. If I launch normally, a message tells me that this utility requires that I am logged on as administrator.
So, what can I do to use this utility normally, i.e. in a limited user Sessiona? *
Well, you should try to activate the rights for the TACSPROP.exe.
To do this, you must enter the operating system as an administrator.
Choose the application, right click. There is a Security tab. Here, you need to activate the permissions for all users.
Internal memory card reader no longer works on my M70-267.
Device Manager reports the error with the driver of the bus PCI 6 mass storage controller, device 4, function 3.
The first problem, the result of this is?
Yes, this mass storage controller could be the card reader. So, you can try to reinstall the drivers, which can be downloaded here:
or you can remove it from the Device Manager and restart your machine
or, if that didn't help then you should send your machine to a service partner chartered for an assessment of health/repair of equipment.
To find the closest, you can check out this site:

I have a problem that when I unplug my computer I lost the internet connection and wifi is not working properly. Sometimes wifi can't even find a connection even if there are autour wifi access points. As I lost the connection 3 times while writing this.
How can I solve this problem?
I don't know if this will help but check advanced power setting please > wireless adapter settings > power save mode and do not forget that performance Maximum option is set on a battery option.
Please test and send feedback.
I deleted Windows Vista from my Satellite Pro A200 for XP Home.
I'm much happier with the machine now, but I am unable to get any response from the card reader. There is no mention in the manual supplied with the machine.
I cannot find any reference to it in the Control Panel hardware Manager and nothing changes here in it when I insert a SD memory card.
I had no cause to try the drive before removing Vista, so I don't know if it never worked... Although I guess he did.
A search of a pilot running in the download section had no success, and this forum has no direct answers.
Does anyone have an idea what I have to do to make this work?
I put t see serious reasons why your card reader shouldn't run with installed Windows XP t/function.
What you need is the right driver.
The Toshiba driver page provides all the drivers Win XP and there is also an XP driver for the multi card reader.
You need a Texas Instruments Flash Media Driver. He is a driver for your bridge Media Slot.
This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.
See you soon
Hello. Here's my problem:
My OS is WinXPSP2, all necessary drivers has been installed, including card reader controller. But when I insert the SD card in my laptop, nothing changes. In the Device Manager ""marked with "!" secure digital storage device
What is the reason for this problem? If anyone knows, please help me.
Thank you for the attention.
P.S. I'm sorry if something is wrong with my English.
You have installed the driver on the Toshiba site?
Check for an update and to update the driver:
The laptop is installed with the recovery disk or Microsoft?
hope that this issue has not been covered before, but I've owned a Satellite P200 for 3 years now, and this week, it crashes all the time.
When it started going down he gave me a few messages in the sense of "your graphics card/driver does not work properly and windows will be arrested to avoid damage.
It has progressed to the point where now when I turn it on, I have vertical lines running down the screen and the screen flashes on and outside. Within 20 seconds, it restores the BSOD - 'there was a problem and windows will be arrested. Error Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area"then stops.
I ran a system restore but the problem remains.
I have a feeling that my graphics card is toast. Is this good? Are there any other options to try? Thanks in advance for any answers.
Sounds like the GPU problem.
But try the graphics card driver update.
Use the most recent driver for your graphics card.
In addition, clean the fans of portable computers.
Dust and debris could prevent the cooling fans to turn with the best speed and this could lead to a higher temperature which would lead to overheating.
Use a jet of compressed air. I also use it and it helps to get rid of dust and debris.
If this is not enough, then a problem of graphics chip would be possible.
My laptop came with windows 8 and the card reader was not working
but I installed windows 7 64-bit, downloaded all the drivers on my laptop, but the card reader does not work now.
I downloaded a driver called card reader controller, but it did not work as well
I don't know if there is a problem or there is a driver should I install and I don't know.
Please help me solve this problem.
In my windows Device Manager, these devices is not recognized:
* PCI simple communication controller
* SM Bus controller
* Unknown Device
I tried searching in my page to download drivers on the Toshiba Web site but could not find these
Please help me make my card reader works again.

For me, the matter is simple, and the reason why the SD card reader is not working, it's just a driver compatible isn't installed.
My theory seems to be correct, given that the SM bus controller and PCI simple communication controller appear in Device Manager and I suppose that one of these devices belongs to the player/controller of the SD card.
I think that you should simply install this Realtek card reader controller that I found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
In addition, you must install all the other drivers Win 7 as well as Toshiba tools available by Satellite C850 series.
Very important is the chipset driver, USB 3.0 driver (Win 7 has this port driver to control the USB 3.0), display driver. etc.
Not very essential tools are Bulletin Board, product information online Reeltime, etc. This tools additional don t improved the performance of the laptop so its up to you if you want to use these software components
I hope someone can help.
My X 200-219 has been recently upgraded to Windows7 and although it works well (better), the card reader does not work.
Do I need a driver installed?
Various looked but can't find anything obvious?
Bravo and thank you
Try to install THIS driverplease.
It is Vista 32 bit driver for digital multimedia card reader. I hope that it will work.
I have a Portege M200 with the Gforce 5200Go. Since the last officially available graphics driver is the 46,44 I changed the 93.71 and installed. But the Rotation Utility does not work with this driver.
When I use the driver nv for the rotation of the screen the tabletpen's is more synchronized: move the tabletpen left results in movement of the mouse to the top etc.
Anyone any ideas?
You must use the page of the Toshiba driver graphics driver and not the original on the graphics card manufacturing site
My satellite L650-12N usb port does not work. I did everything that I could and it does not work.
It shows a yellow exclamation mark on my system.
I try so many ways, including the recovering auto troubleshooting, formatting and system he could not work.
Under the key USB gives error code 43, I do not understand.
The webcam and the wireless card no more.
This boot problem after a storm in my area some time ago.
Please can someone help.
> This problem start after a storm in my area some time ago.
Because other devices don't work properly and because procedure didn t get it back help you solve this problem, I think that the problem is related to the hardware malfunction possibly that the motherboard was hit by lightning, which would explain the problems
I think you should ask the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country to check the motherboard.
But in my opinion, that the warranty does not cover the issues of environmental impact maybe your household insurance could help you
I've made some progress on this issue, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQS, although the main problem is that FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF memory address is shared by the SD card controller and device memory SD card. Unless we find a way to edit the registry to resolve this conflict of memory, the simple answer is that the SD card reader does not work under XP.
I think that it would take a major surgery of the register or re-writing of drivers to move the address of memory used by the SD card device, I always work on this for now.
Can someone support Toshiba or Toshiba Marketing explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" sticker on it, when Toshiba does fully support XP on the 9000 series?
[Edited by: admin]
Unfortunately, I n t think that you will find here a Toshiba marketing person or other departments. It is ONLY a user to user forum.
What you say, it is simply NOT true.
The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all the images of this Toshiba home Toshiba service partner. That's why Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 has been bundled with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and also supports Windows XP!
Of course, there are different models with a different hardware configuration, but all supports Windows XP.
I put t know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card, but I guess you don t use the image of Toshiba. That's why you installed your operating system isn't properly. Because you are a newbie you don t know the Toshiba all the driver installation must be done in the right order and all Microsoft QFEs must be installed also.
As you can see you must pay attention to many important things if you want to manually install the operating system.
