Any BIOS you know software that would solve the problem please?

Can I use my Toshiba recovery disks but unfortunately my optical drive is not the 1st boot apparently device. Thank you once again.

Hello

Have you tried to access the BIOS by pressing F2 by turning on the device?

  • Re: Satellite L300 - WLan not recognised in Win XP

Last night, I did a clean install of Windows XP on Windows 7.
I downloaded most of the drivers and everything works fine, except that my laptop now can't seem to recognize the wireless.

It was working fine when I was on Windows 7, and now I don't know what to do.
I can always connect by plugging in, but it's too complicated and I'm used to freedom!

I looked in the Device Manager, and the only thing that has an exclamation yellow, is the Ethernet controller... and I can't find anything to fix this.

    Can someone please help?

    Much appreciated,
    Thank you.

    > I looked in Device Manager, and the only thing that has an exclamation yellow, is the Ethernet controller... and I can't find anything to fix this.

This Ethernet controller is the wireless network card and it seems that the WLan driver has not been installed correctly or you have tried to install the wrong driver WLan.
I put t know what WLan card you have, but must be an Intel, Atheros or Realtek WLan card.

All drivers Wlan is located on the Toshiba Wlan Portal:

    Check out these drivers!

  • Satellite U300 will not start most of the time. Fires - OK. BIOS-OK. Rams -?

Yesterday, I decided to set the default BIOS. After save and exit - screen, black-U300 does load, no TOSHIBA logo on the screen. Only the lights can work.

I conclude that the BIOS has broken. Today, I tried it reflash with Phoenix Bios crisis recovery 1.0.0.4, but without success. FN + B does not. FN + F, Win + B, Win + F... Similarly.

BUT! Because I did so many off - power on trials, he had moments that he actually loaded successfully. Let's say it starts at 1 100 times. Once I entered the BIOS and settled before logo (clear blue Satellite on the front) to be disabled. Now whenever I start the laptop, this logo is dark and this brings me to the conclusion that the BIOS is OK, the system reads its settings and logo off.

Now, it has similarly if remove RAM, or use. Works the same with RAM and without. But sometimes it starts successfully (with RAM, of course).

When I turn it on, the fan may spin for a while and turns off after one second. If the eave it this way, after a few minutes, it starts to turn again. If there is HARD drive inside - it's light for 3-4 seconds and that's it. If there is a DVD in there - it runs as usual.

There is another problem with my laptop - sound does not work for months ago. In addition, there are such cases in the past, when my laptop stops responding for some time, but after minutes, everything was normal. This time... he refuses to answer for a long time and I don't know why.

Do someone know what is happening with my U300?

Great! Thanks for the comments dude!

I understand that the issue could be the graphics drivers, I updated the Intel HD Graphics 4000 drivers but that did nothing.

Please check this Toshiba document on the support of the Intel WiDi and 8.1 Win
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB3903IF0000R01.htm

Intel® Wireless display is no longer supported on Windows 8.1, but you may be able to connect to the external wireless screen, if your computer supports Miracast.

  • Complete description of the BIOS Version 1.40 - WIN for Satellite L300-1BB

Somewhere, anyone can find the full description of the bios BIOS Version 1.40 - WIN for the L of Satellite series, which was the site of toshiba on the date 01/14/09. Why should I do this update for my machine?
    Kind regards.

    Hello

I didn t find details changed in the BIOS update on the page of Toshiba Europe.
I assume that Toshiba does not provide this information

However, if your laptop runs without a problem, then I would not update anything you know
I'm always that notice; never change a running system. And that's the best advice I've ever heard.

  • Satellite A200-1ZF: FN keys do not work on Win XP

    Hi all.

I'm new arround here, and I have a question on my new laptop.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop 1ZF, and I installed windows xp.
I could install most of the drivers (including the touchpad, webcam, bluetooth, etc.), but I can not do with the fn keys.

    Does not work.
I am pressing fn + F5 or F6 for the light, and nothing happens. In addition, if I can, I want this window of Vista to show when I want to use the FN combination keys.

    Please, can you help me?

I think I can help you
This is a known issue for me I m an owner of a series of Satellite A and from time to time I m here in the forum and I read the interesting discussions

    I found an answer to your problems, it seems that there are two versions of the BIOS;
A version of Win XP and one for the Vista operating system.

If you use the Win XP on your laptop you must update the BIOS to the XP version. This will help to solve the problem with the FN keys

Someone here in the forum posted this solution and I think it should help you too.

Best regards and have a nice day ;)

  • Compaq CQ56 won't start, not accessible same bios

    SEHR item Damen und Herren,

Start by pressing the power button led to: in the power button / stop light is on, seeing orange key F12 is on white light in the CapsLock key flashes slowly. No recognized flashing coded signal.

    Fan, slowly, is constant.

Monitor remains dark. Lamp HD made a short when turned on flashing, dark rest then.

It does NOT make a difference if the lid is open or closed.

Will of course similarly BIOS does not work.

Wake him. After several attempts he stood once. After the reboot it remained dark forever.

Once everything has been running for years.

I tried to turn off completely including remove battery and then press the power button to drain the capacitors. No results.

Yes the gpu is soldered to the motherboard.

Well you can heat with in-house tools, it could restart the laptop, but that's just temp fix, fix it properly, you have to completely take off gpu and put in a new one, and to be done with reballing station which as I said is not good cheap.

If you want to go with reception difficulty theres many videos on youtube with the heating phase.

  • Satellite L505-10z - Win 7 tools are not compatible with Win 8

My laptop is Satellite L505-10z. I installed Windows 8 Pro and I noticed that many drivers (especially PVAT) I downloaded at Toshiba support site Web (which are originally for Windows 7) doesn't work do not! When Toshiba released drivers for Windows 8? My model will be included in the driver updates?

    Thank you

    > downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba support (which are originally for Windows 7) works not!

Win 7 tools and utilities are made for Win 7 and Win No 8

    > When Toshiba released drivers for Windows 8? My model will be included in the driver updates?
I think you should ask Toshiba. It is a user community.
But I think that Toshiba would begin with driver support if Win 8 would be OFFICIALLY available on the market.

  • Satellite Pro M76E - CD player does not recognize blank CD D:\ is not accessible

    Hello.

Just recently, my satellite pro m76e ceased to recognize blank CDs. If I stick a CD it recognizes that it is a CD, but if I click, it throws an error message indicating that "D:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function. "I tried the search for driver updates but couldn't find one, and toshiba sites says you don't need additional drivers for the internal CD drives.

The drive works fine for everything else. It's just empty CD. Any advice would be welcome.

    See you soon. Dan

    Hello

One question; Why you want to read a blank CD? ?:|
As you say all the CD and DVD is recognized, but only the blank CD cannot be read.

Regarding the driversa? ... you're right, the update of the driver is not necessary and is not possible because the Windows operating system uses a clean Microsoft drivers to run the ODD.

But have you already checked these threads?
