Satellite Pro 4280 - display driver?

Hello

I'm kinda new to all this malarky and could do with help.

I have a Pro 4280 under 98SE and today tried to upgrade to XP Professional. Everything seems ok, but the display is terrible!

I tried to change the screen resolution in Control Panel of configuration, but without success.

Is it just a case of updating the display driver, or is there something else I should do?

Hello

If you install the graphics card from the operating system uses just driver installed by OS. If there is no possibility to change the resolution, you should try to install the right driver. Your device's graphics chip "S3 Savage IX" installed. Please consult the producer download site and check if it is possible to download the right driver.

Good bye

    Hello

Can you please check under display properties > settings > advanced > monitor, is there possibility to activate the option Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.

If you want, save your data and reinstall OS with recovery CD. Check if your monitor is working properly and there is black band again.
I ve done the installation of SP2 several times without any problem. It is not a simple to determine what can be wrong with it.

  • White screen after the Satellite Pro P200 display driver update

I installed the latest display driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 (8.432, on the site of Toshiba through Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. Reboot, everything seems good as much as the screen "Please wait...". "Windows Vista professional, but instead of showing the page of connection I get an empty screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as usual). All I can do at this point is to be able to, and I'm running out of ideas on how to move forward.

    Things I've tried:
    # start in safe mode, the video resolution or last known good configuration, result the same screen empty.
    # connect to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) is not possible because the system has not yet loaded the network drivers.
    # I can't go back to a restore point because Vista can't find (I did a manual after you install updates windows over a couple of days).
I can run a system command line options of recovery and prefer to use it to disable the driver + if + I knew how before the use of the more radical options.

A search on the web (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous versions of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at to give a solution which does not exist for me.

I agree with Hairyfool, you who should solve problems using an external display. If no image appears, then something with the material might be.

Please give some information about your situation...

    See you soon

  • Satellite Pro A100: Display Driver ATI Mobile Radeon X 1400 WinXP

    Hello there :)

I have browsed the forum and could not find another thread that helps me. I have a Satellite pro A100 PSAACE laptop, equipped with a Mobile Radeon X 1400 graphics card. Now, I was informed by the games that I play that drivers are up-to-date. I think it is true that in the last few days, I formatted my laptop and then only initial drivers from the disc of recovery of the product are to be used.

I visit the ATI site, and they inform me that I have to contact my laptop to the manufacturer (that Toshiba are not in the list of supported manufacturers) in order to get the new drivers. If I remember I should get all my updates page to download the driver from this Web site. The only problem is that apparently he not there no update driver for the graphics card (to share for one for Vista).

I recently reformatted my computer using recovery of product, and so that's why I was after the new driver. I don't remember for sure, but I'm pretty confident that I have already downloaded a updated driver for my graphic chipset during the last 14 months of use (before formatting my hard drive).

Now, if someone could offer any help to find the driver, or have information about the problem, it would be highly appreciated. Once more, my specs (you need to enter on the page of the driver) are portable series A100, PSAAC, PSAACE, and I use Windows XP.

Thanks for reading, and I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever.

    Hello
You can find the display drivers at the following location:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com (Support & downloads), choose your type of laptop and then download the ATI display drivers.

Make sure that you select Windows XP as the operating system. Check it out.

But note that the display drivers for laptop computers are not updated as often as for desktop PCs. If you encounter serious problems with your real driver version then just leave it.

You can find the other drivers on the internet, but to use at your own risk.

  • Satellite Pro M30 Display Driver

I'm having some trouble updating my display of my SPM30 driver, for example, when I try to load Age Of Empires III Demo, it says that my display driver is outdated and I need an update. (I can't even access the game...)
The same thing happens when I try to load Half Life 2 and Counter Strike Source...
I can play HL2 and CSS, but someone told me that I can get better performance if I updated my display driver...

So I tried to install the driver to display available on this site here...

This was the result, I found:

    -----------------------------------------------------
01/09/04 Windows XP 45.56 nVidia display driver
    -----------------------------------------------------

I have a few questions on this one there...

    * 01/09/04?
WTF, this driver is one-and-a-half year ago?

    * version 45,56?
When you check the nVidia site, I found that they are already using version 78.01...

What is the problem with Toshiba? When I tried to install the video driver, I had an error with something compatibility...
nVidia says that my card is not on the list of supported cards, but also not on the list of maps is not compatible... (GeForce FXGo5200)

Now here's my question, where can I get the update for my display driver, so I can run most recent gams like AOEIII?

I did not find on nVidia.com but also not to have toshiba.com

Please can anyone Toshiba bend on this and fix this or send me an email for a solution?

    Thanks in advance...

    Bart

PS: anyone else with the same problem?

    Hello

as far as I know the nVidia card is able to operate with more performance, but not in a book. The cooling is not enough, the chip can be damaged.

  • Re: Satellite Pro L10 - display driver for Win7RC

    Hi-

Were able to successfully install Windows 7RC on the L10. There is a missing video card driver and I can't seem to find it on the download site (XP drivers seem compatible with Win7 because of its XP mode).

Apparently, this has something to do with the graphics card & I get the following message is displayed:

    [http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/webhelp/default.aspx?&mpver=12.0.7100.0&id=C00D1167&contex tid = 61 & originalid = C00D1167]

Someone know where I can find the right driver for it?

    Thank you

    Hello!

Normally, you can find all the drivers for your laptop here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

But it seems that the display driver is available for Windows XP only.

As far as I know that this laptop is equipped with an Intel graphics card so I would check the Intel website for a Windows driver. I'm pretty sure you'll find a driver for Vista (which should work on Windows 7) and perhaps already for Windows 7 also.
    Check it!

    Hello

Satellite Pro 428Xcdt was certainly delivered with 6 GB HARD drive.
Are you sure that you have checked the size of the HARD drive correctly?

I guess the 1.34 GB is a free space on the HARD disk.

OK, so I found my old SP4280 buried in the loft and found everything market (except the hard drive, but I ordered a replacement identical).
I want to install ubuntu on this subject that I don't have windows OS available, but need more RAM and an update of the BIOS.

It will only take old, now N/A toshiba ram will it take other brands of RAM with the correct specifications? (low density, 100 mhz, CL2) And I can't find the update of the BIOS anywhere on the Toshiba site. Someone could you please direct me to it or download it for me? Thank you.

    Quick answers appreciated!

    Thank you

The information you can get from Toshiba on the RAM, it's that your laptop can handle with max 320 MB of RAM.
    Compatible RAM is PA3005U - 1 M 12 > 128 MB.
    This RAM is tested.

Of course, you can use other brands. Just make sure that you are using the high quality product and also the same specification of RAM.

    Update the BIOS, visit http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp

  • Replacing the drive HARD Satellite Pro 4280

I have a SP 4280 and the original hard drive on it does not have earlier. I bought a Hitachi Travelstar 5K 100 40 GB replacement, but I can't seem to make it work. FDisk recognizes the disc as a 40 GB drive and seems to format the drive. However, attempts to write anything to generate results in an error message "invalid media".

Installation using XP Pro format the drive gives me an error message in the sense of "Windows cannot format the drive.

I have attached the drive to my PC via a cable of adapter 2.5 "and it seems to work fine. I also use the latest version of the BIOS on my laptop. It is not the settings of 'cable' rider select and 0/1 on the drive.

Someone knows what the problem is, or that I couldn't do or have suggestions to raise my drive and running?

    Cheers in advance

    Hello

Your device was shipped with a 6 GB HARD drive.
In my opinion, the BIOS has a few problems with the recognition of the HARD drive because of the large size of HARD drive. Unfortunately, I put t see any possibility to solve the problem.
