Satellite Pro 4340 - RAM upgrade problem

I have exactly the same problem as Juan29. Link to his post below.
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=15837&MessageID=57907

I want to improve my Toshiba Satellite pro 4340 to 320 MB of ram.
The computer came with 64 internal RAM and I bought 2 x 128 MB of ram.

My problem is that the second (B) ram slot does not detect the new ram.
2 x 128 MB of ram were tested both in the ram slot (A) and work.
I thought that a bios upgrade would solve the problem, but it didn't.

I have the same defective (B) housing like Juan or does it have
a solution?

Help, please.
Best regards
Martin

What memory did you use?
I've found that these modules are compatible:
PA3003U - 1 M 03 32MB MEMORY KIT
PA3004U - 1 M 06 64 MB MEMORY KIT
PA3005U - 1 M 12 128 MB KIT MEMORY

I think there could be a problem of compatibility of the module.
I put t see any other reason the problem

Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.

I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.

I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.

However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    > Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!

Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.

You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

    Hello

Well, if you want t use WiFi, you must pay attention to the different settings and options.
First of all, are you sure that you have installed the wireless network card correctly and it appears in Device Manager 100%?
    Please check!

After the properly installing the LAN on laptop computer card, you must configure the WLan router.
For most installation instructions delivered with the package and you will need to follow these guidelines!

For the first time, I would not recommend to set of ciphers.
You must first test the connection without encryption, and if it works then you can allow it.

  • Satellite Pro 4300 - memory upgrade problem

    Hello

I know that the issue has been already discussed several times, but it seems that none of the solutions or suggestions posted earlier apply to my situation.
I recently bought an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300. The laptop has a slot filled memory of 64 MB module of the system's total memory was 128 MB.
Because in my opinion, the system has worked to slow down, I decided to buy an additional memory module. I bought 128 MB - module TOSHIBA PA3005U k and placed in the slot B

I was very surprised when I found that, after the upgrade, Windows showed that the total memory is 192 MB.
When I put the 128 MB in the slot module is and the old module of 64 MB in the slot B - the surprise was even bigger, given that windows showed only 128 MB.

I first thought that the slot B is defective, but in this case, it would be impossible to get in the first place the 192 MB. Then I thought that the new module of memory was either defective or it was 64 MB instead of 128 MB, but this option is also likely, according to my observations. Furthermore, I checked with EVEREST software system and it recognizes the new module as 128 MB module, but does not see the old 64 MB module.

The situation is quite strange. Does anyone has an idea whay happens?

    Kind regards

    Sebastian

To my knowledge, the 4300 Satellite Pro can be upgraded to 320 MB max.
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5769&ft=m&St=3

64 MB module which was fitted with your laptop should not be removable.
So in this slot ONLY this 64 MB module could work properly.

I know it's strange but the computer world is sometimes strange ;) you know :D

  • Satellite Pro 4360 Ram upgrades

Hello, this is my first post

I have a satellite pro 4360 with 256 meg of ram can be updated at least 512 I have 1 spare ram slot if so, what is the ram details I need IE 144 pins etc.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

The 4360 Pro Satellite came with 64 MB internal memory and this memory in not removable.
As you have already said, there is only a slot that is expandable.

In any case... it seems that it of not possible to upgrade memory up to 512 MB.
You can upgrade the memory to 320 MB (64 MB internal memory + 256 MB external memory). There is a limit.

I found a very useful page that confirms this info:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5775&ft=m&St=3

PS: I forgot to say that the laptop supports the SODIMM 144 pin PC100

    Hello

If you want to increase the RAM to 1 GB then you need another 512 MB module.
As I know the laptop support modules DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM and generally the 512 MB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 RAM (PA3511U1M51) must be compatible.

Please check this space of the forum:

Here you can find videos how to replace the RAM.
I didn t find your Satellite A120, but the upgrade of RAM is very similar to all laptops.

That made her really strange guy is that if a module of memory is not compatible or not supported then the laptop wouldn't boot.

But listen buddy; nothing is impossible. Perhaps the two modules cannot run together and that's why this issue happens?  :|

Usually it s recommended and recommended using two memory modules.
In this case, you can be sure that the two s of RAM would run together without problem to 100%!

    Check it!

  • Satellite Pro 4600 RAM upgrade - single location seems to work

    Hello!

I am writing again to my RAM problem.
I know that my phone can cope with 500 MB of ram.

So I bought more to upgrade 256. But only a module of memory is recognized.
Both work well: when an another reversal of slot a slot two, there is always a recognized...

I must add this: when I have added first 256 MB for the original 128 MB module, everything worked ok, (I got about 300 MB of ram)
I really wonder: is the slot 2 dead? How can I know if you think that is another problem, you have advice...? I am a bit lost...

    See you soon!
    Sylvain

You are right. You can upgrade the RAM to 512MG max.
In housing, you could inert max 254MB modules of memory SODIMM 144 pin PC133.

Perhaps one slot is faulty and you should check this.
Simply use a single module and check the two slots one after the other.

If the module will be recognized in the two slots this means that the two slots are okay.
These cases, it is possible of s that the two modules may not work together make for the compatibility issue.

    Hello

To my knowledge, you can switch the phone to max 512 MB.
You can use 2 sticks of 256 MB set. It's possible!

  • Re: Satellite Pro A200 - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

Don't worry I'm not here to ask questions on only 3 GB of RAM display in a 32-bit Windows system! : PEI

I'm wanting to upgrade the RAM on my A200 and what I was wondering was what can I put with 667 MHz RAM? I know that the FSB of the CPU is 800 MHz so can not use RAM 800 MHz? I had a quick glance in the BIOS to see if there was an option to change the speed or on my desktop, but I couldn't find anything. If the speed of the RAM is locked and if yes is there a update of the available BIOS that will allow it to be changed?

I hope this isn't a stupid question but thanks in advance!

    Daniel

RAM with MHz more won't make your laptop faster. I'm not 100% sure but on the motherboard FSB speed is 533 MHz and Rams, you inside are at 667 MHz.

If you can increase the RAM to 4 GB using 2 GB of RAM compatible with the PA3513U-1M2G part number.

    Good bye

  • In Satellite A105-S2236 RAM upgrade problems

I'm working on a Satellite A105-S2236 for a customer. She has Windows Vista Basic - and did not come with 512 MB of RAM, so it is very slow. I went by Crucial and got another chip 512 MB for this computer - after installation, it shows again that 512 - I tried to change the chips, each chip individiually running into the two slots to see if 1 chip or locations did not work, and everything works fine - except with 2 512 chips - it shows more than 512 RAM.

I spent some time on the phone with Toshiba - bascially for them to tell me that the motherboard is picky and will not recognize 2 different brand of chips of RAM. 2 chips are quite identical features except the one who came there is Samsung and the new is Crucial. I can't believe they don't work together.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You won't believe me, but many people have reported the same issue with the essential modules. The best thing you can do is to return and buy products known and of good quality. If you want one, order the module of RAM Kingston. They will work for sure.

Homepage of Kingston. You can find a list of all compatible RAM for your laptop model.

  • Satellite Pro U300 Expansion Chassis problem

    Hello fellow users.

I am trying to use an expresscard with my satellite pro expansion chassis. Problem is that in Device Manager, I am getting error code 12 for PCI bridges in the chassis and the error code 31 for the PCI bridge on the card I want to use in the expansion chassis.

I installed latest version of the BIOS but cannot solve the problem.

Slot for Express card in my computer is fine because I use an Ethernet Express of 1 card G without problem.

Hunting on the web, it seems that the problem is related to the BIOS being unable to handle the number of PCI bus in the system, refer to the knowledge base article 942959 Microsoft. This article explains the problem and how to Vista and W2008 reslove.

I am running XP and work around, that they said, does not work. Upgrading to Vista is not really an option as software I want to use is not yet the version for Vista.

My only options left at this stage are fresh install XP to see if it corrects the problem, or vista fresh install and hope I want to use drivers/software works under Vista.

Has anyone else seen this problem, got any other suggestions.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

your problem is unusual, but what I want to know is: which model / manufacturer, what is this expansion chassis?
It would be interesting since without knowing what we´re talking expansion chassis, it would be difficult to know where exactly the problem could be...

  • Satellite Pro 4340 is compatible with Wlan?

my friend has offered its satellite pro 4340 for my work to a level of children. I need to connect to the internet on this subject. what I'd like to know is: is - this compatible with the radio? If I bought this wireless could it be plugged in and used? is this a laptop useless? I have no IDE on computers

    Hello Wendy

I found some info on this unit, and I'll try to give you some advice on its use. First be sure the unit is in good condition and it starts. This unit is initially shipped with Windows 98SE. According to RAM, you can also use other operating systems.

Please talk with your friend and ask him which OS is pre-installed and the amount of RAM is here. Maybe someone can give you some useful tips on more operating system installation or how to use it in the best way.

This laptop is definitely not pointless and it's very good for children and they can use it to learn more about the use of the laptop and also how to deal with operating system (basic knowledge).

Computer laptop itself has no wireless card but you can use the PCMCIA WLAN card. To find more information please contact your local dealer to PC. They can give you important information about compatibility, and you can also ask them to install the device and also test in store for you.

If I forgot something please ask again and make your friend under pressure with price. ;)

  • PCMCIA card does not recognize the connection to the local network on Satellite Pro 4340

    Hello world

    I have 2 Satellite Pro 4340, running Win2K, SP4. I bought a card PCMCIA 10 / 100MB of Ultron (more or less no name :-))

When you insert the card, Win2k recognizes the card, but when the I plug the network cable, it does not recognize the connection. Cable is fine. It seems there is no power on the PCMCIA card. I read on some forums that there is a problem with the Topic100 Card Bus driver and voltage. I see that many people have the problem but not where to find the driver for the problem :-/ I couldn't find a driver on toshiba support site. A

ll have an idea, or better a link where I can download this driver? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance for your help, support and answers.
    Corey

If this card needs a driver you will not find it on the download page of manufacturer of portable. You must check the card producer site.

As you know in the world of computers, it has set different standards. Produced very often cheap are not designed for these standards, and you can have different problems. I recommend you to use high quality products.
