Satellite Pro 440 CDT - message "the disk you selected is not ready."

I have an old Satellite Pro 440 CDT with a CD drive (no floppy more) who plays the music well, but when I type and want to save to a cd, he comes up with the message "the disk you selected is not ready. Can anyone help, because really, I'm not an irritable type and need help.

I know it as an irrelivent bits to your problem, but I suggest that you invest in a USB key. They are pretty well the replacement disks are much more portable than a CD.

  • HP Laserjet P1102 by USB "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer.

My HP Laserjet P1102 used to work properly with OS X10.10. Then he started to say (now I'm on osx 10.11.4) "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer" whenever I have the lit, but the printer still work. What should I do?

I tried with this solution HP Laserjet P1102w by USB "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer ' Ec Capitan osx's option"repair disk permissions ".

I can't say if it will work, and it may even be harmful, possibly to the point of making your mac unbootable, so be careful - all the least have a clone of your system disk. If you start using the internet (Command-Option-R) recovery mode, and if your mac is a model that existed prior to El Capitan, it could be that the disk utility you get in this collection is the old version, including the order of repair permissions.

  • iMac G3 Tiger Installation "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer.

    Hello

I try to install Mac OS X Tiger on my iMac G3 slot loading 400mH. The system is compatible all I checked before installing. I was able to start on the first disc very well. It is installed properly, until he asked for disc 2. When I put in the disc, it turns a little, and then do absolutely nothing. It just sits there even ask for the disc. After having let it run all night, I decided that the only option was to hold the power button. When I turned the machine back on, it gave me the error "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer. He then ejected the disc.

    What are my options?

One thing I forgot to mention, is that I have created these disks under windows with a program called TransMac. It was the first program that I found which could create for Mac bootable discs. The fact that he created the first a perfectly fine leads me to believe that it is not my Windows and Mac computer. I could be completely wrong, and if so what is a better program. I am not of any other Mac other than the G3.

    Thanks in advance!

    Other specifications:

    iMac G3

    400mH

    256 GB RAM

120 GB disk with Mac OS 9 and OS X Panther (I'm trying to update for Panther)

Historically, the Mac have trouble starting from system disks burned. As you say, the first one worked, so you might be on the right track. Have you tried to make a new second drive from the same program? Maybe there is a media problem or an engraving error.

The other problem could be the source of installation of Tiger. Apple has distributed never freely as each copy that you find on the internet - free or paid - are pirated and may even be compromised. It happened more than you think. There are a lot of reports of people for an OSX version here as an internet download and even pay for it, only to find that it works at all. I've seen downloads Mac OS offered for sale even on sites like eBay (I point out them).

So this begs the following question - where did you Tiger?

If we get that worked, we ned to continue what I have some experiences with Panther and Tiger on the iMac of the same model which can be useful

AC is connected, the power led is lit, green. Battery is dead (as in buried). When I press the power button, the following occurs:
    -The led is green
-Num lock (the one with the 'A' on this subject) flashes 3 times: long-short-short
-HARD drive flashes 1 time, green
-CD light flashes 1 time, orange
    -Popping sound in the speakers
Then it turns off again, with the power light green constantly led.

    I am confused, please help!

    THX, Eric

    Hello Eric

As you know, on this way it is not possible to give an accurate diagnosis, just speculate what may be the problem. In my opinion it is certainly because of faulty electronics on board, but what, exactly, it is not easy to say. Try to contact someone who has experience with laptop repair procedure.

  • Satellite Pro M30 - error message: the user is not authorized to update BIOS

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro M30 of second hand. This one has the Bios 1.30... I would like to install the bios v1.70.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and tried first update in Windows.
I however got the message "the user is not allowed to update BIOS.

This message is quite surprising given that I have administrator privileges.

I read that you can use a floppy disk to update, but I did not...

So, is it possible to update the Bios with the CD?

    See you soon,.
    R.S.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found the version of BIOS 1.7 WIN in the field of ARCHIVES.

As you can see, it's a version of BIOS Windows and not a traditional version of the BIOS (trad BIOS can be updated using the diskette).
This BIOS win can be improved only from a running OS Win.

In any case, I see that you have installed SP3. It could have a bad influence on the update of the BIOS.
Then maybe you should try to update the BIOS without SP3 installed?

Remove SP3, download the good BIOS, unzip correctly and then try to run the BIOS update file.

_Ps: If you laptop then runs without problem a BIOS update is not necessary! _

  • My MacBook Pro shows "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer.

After taking my external hard drive WD 2 TB to my best friend for a few days and connecting via USB to its player Samsung Dvd/multimedia, I now have the message above after plugging back on my MacBook Pro. I tried so many difficulties, I found online, but nothing has worked. I even tried to type the command Terminal fix "diskutil repairDisk/dev/disk" and received the message "error repair card: MediaKit reports the wrong partition or no map found (-5324).

I've seen suggestions of using Disk Warrior, but that seems a little hit and Miss wise success and I can't really afford. This HD were thousands of files on it and was also my Time Machine backup disk. I really want to erase and reformat, but I don't know what else to do! Can anyone help? My MacBook is a model 13 "of 2012 and the HD is a year older. Never had any problem with before this. I realize I should never be plugged on the Samsung device now.

I eventually found a solution myself. In the case where it happens to someone else, use a program like EaseUS evaluation edition to see if your files are still there and CAN be recovered. After much research, it was clear that the question was a mapping problem caused by plugging the hard drive in the unit of Samsung Media and my MacBook could read is no longer. I ended up using Disk Warrior and it was set to 100% less than an hour. No need to format or restore data to another drive.

Lesson learned - if you use it on your Mac, connect on something else!

  • Satellite Pro 440 CDT: forgotten password

I have an old book of CDT 440 of satellite, and I don't remember the password for it. all this is check the memory, and nothing more, is there a way to reset this password?
    Pascal

    Hi Pascal,.

I assume it's the startup password you have forgotten, that case you will need to take your laptop to a Service Agent allowed for it to reset. They will probably need prove you that you have not for security reasons.

As a temporary measure, you can try now hold the left SHIFT key during the boot process, it will bypass the BIOS password on some Toshiba laptops, although it does not reset it.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro 410 - CDT - access the BIOS

Please, anyone could advise if it is possible to access BIOS through a sequence of keys to change the priority of the boot to access the CD drive first. I have a damaged Windows installation and am unable to get a bootable CD of diskette or bootable to work.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Peter,.

You will need access to the BIOS during system startup. DSepending on the age of your laptop and the BIOS manufacturer, the key combination may vary, but generally the following keys are used: -.

ESC then F1 will enter the BIOS

    The F2 BIOS Setup mode

    The F8 BIOS boot mode

BIOS F12 boot device selection mode.

Above the keys must be held down during boot of the system, until the confirmation message usually appears on the start screen, or until the BIOS mode is displayed.
