Satellite Pro 6100 cannot get my GyroTransport new 'air mouse' to work

Satellite Pro 6100 running XP Professional with SP3 and all updates as of 10/24/08.
BAUGHT a new mouse made by Gyration GyroTransport air, but it won't work on my laptop.
Tried in several other computers with the same OS and it works very well. In fact as a teacher, I recommend one of these brilliant sound devices.

I tried all settings via the control panel and can not work on why it won't work.
The laptop recognizes the name of it when its plugged in but the States, he has a problem. The dongle USB/receiver with a memory stick with some additional software on this subject, but the laptop does not regognise the memorystick at all. He acknowledges that other memory stick no problem.
That technician school COMPUTER looked at it and can't get by either.

It is usually on the spot.
Any body out there of suggestions?

This mouse works on some laptops newer with USB 2.0 ports?

One last thing: If you use some additional hardware to help apply the manufacturer's support. Computer laptop manufacturer doesn't provide support for certain third party materials.
What Thompson says about this problem?

  • Satellite Pro 6100: cannot get into the BIOS and does not start

I have a portable Satellite pro 6100, en I was trying to boot from an external USB hard drive. When I activated the second hard drive option in the BIOS it has stopped booting all in all, I can't even get into the BIOS Setup more. All I get is "In touch with tomorrow TOSHIBA" screen with the icons to select the method of priming preferred manually after it's just blank screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left.

Press ESC or F8 before to turn usually results in fast beeps sounds.
Press tilde (~) before turn is reflected in the remaining space screen (not even the home toshiba screen appears) and slow Zens sounds.

Apart from that I can't really do nothing at all.
I tried to reset the BIOS by disconnecting the battery CMOS/RTC (hoewever, we call it) of the motherboard for a while with no results.

Turn on/off without the results of HD internal in a white screen with an ERROR 'IDE #0.
I can always stop by pressing the power button, you don't have to bother on the external hard drive it past I don't even want it works more.

    Suggestions?

    Hello

I agree with Graeme. Your HARD drive is probably faulty. Sorry, but I don't think that you will be able to use the external HARD drive. The option in the BIOS is not for EXTERNAL HARD drive is just, I guess, for disk HARD placed in select Bay.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 cannot start - message PXE - E61 and PXE - MOF

My dad just bought me a satellite pro 6100 for United off ebay and when I turn it on the toshiba screen comes up, followed by: PXE - E61 and PXE - MOF. as I am a total blank computer I have not a clue what to do! any ideas...? :)

    Hello Naomi

Don t worry, it sounds not very badly. I think that you will solve this problem by changing some settings in the BIOS. ;)

To my knowledge, this message appears when the LAN option has been fixed at the beginning of the boot order. So solve this problem to get into the BIOS (ESC and F1) and then change the order of Boot CD Drive drive HARD etc...
Please set the LAN at the end.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - cannot get WLAN to work

    Hello

I have problems with my Satellite Pro L20 after a reinstallation. The wifi does not work.
I installed the right driver, but have had no luck.
    Anyone with the same problem?

    Any help would be great

You reinstall your laptop computer with the recovery disc or Microsoft?

Do you have which driver installed?
You must use the driver from the Web from Toshiba site. Check again:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Perhaps a BIOS might also solve the problem.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - battery icon indicates 0% and courier mouse disappears

    Hi all

I'm new to this so hope I'm posting in the right place.

I have the laptop above Satellite Pro 6100 and am having some problems that I hope that you guys may be able to help me with.

The first problem is that the battery is fully charged, but the icon on the screen says 0%.
He fled feeding okay and if you disconnect battery lasts for all time and a half.
If I try to defrag it does not have enough power?
So I have to defrag in safe mode.

The other problem is that the mouse disappears off the coast of the right side of my screen and it takes forever to find him!

Would appreciate some advice or solutions like like the laptop and not really wanted to get a new one at the moment.

Oh am running windows at home.
    Thanks in advance.

    Eve x

Update the BIOS and set the default values.

You could try reinstalling the common Modules for Toshiba and energy savings.

If all else fails, there is the opportunity to back up your data and run recovery. If it happens again on a new installation of Windows, it may be a hardware problem.

  • Satellite Pro M10: Cannot get a resolution of 1680 x 1050 px

    Hello

    Recently I have bougth a screen Dell 2005FPW with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050.
With the standarddrivers of the geforce4 420 go in my satellite pro m10, I can't get this resolution (max 1280 x 1024).
How can I solve this problem and work to the full capacity of my screen?

    Hello Jorré

Sorry, but I don't see any problem. The fact is that there is a restriction of the graphics card and if the max resolution is 1280 x 1024 you cannot set upward for external LCD.

Maybe you can try with something like this http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Viewsonic/VTBOOK/

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro L550 - cannot get 1920 x 1200 on external monitor

    Hi all

I can't get nativ resolution (1920 x 1200) to my external monitor via HDMI conection.
Catalyst or monitor settings in windows XP gives max res only 1920 x 1080 - why?

NB Satellite pro L550 (ATI 5165, hdmi), LG L245WP (hdmi). Thanks for the reply.

    Hello

Cable HDMI and the port, would support the resolution 1920 x 1200, but the fact is that if the graphics card or the graphics driver doesn t card supports this resolution, then you won't be able to choose and use.

In your case I would look in the user manual and check if the graphics card would support this resolution. If the graphic card supports the problem could be related to the graphics card driver that does not contain this resolution.

  • Satellite Pro M70: Cannot get TV OUT work

I have connected my laptop to my TV via TV-out and a cable to S-video 4 pin. I turned on the TV as output in the advanced settings of my graphics card. I chose the TV via the Fn + F5 keys and I get nothing on my television.

Can anyone suggest what I might have left out to make it work?

The S-video cable is new and connect it to the TV is made by a Joytech AV Control Center 2.
The Joytech unit is operational and the video cable seems OK as the Fn + F5 key indicates that a TV is available - this disappears as an option if I unplug the video cable from the unit of Joytech.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Lorraine,.

I presume that the TV is turned to your Joytech AV device? I presume that it gives a kind of signal that you check that the TV can detect it in fact. I once spent a happy few hours trying to use my TV in this way only to find it was switched to composites entries not S-video a. ;-)

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro 6100: no LED at all, the machine doesn't work anymore

    Hi all
I have two nb, a 6000 and a 6100. Never had any probs with the 6000, but my 6100 gives me a real hard time:
The battery has been fully charged, when out of nowhere, it froze... had no chance, but power button money to stop, something cut, two green LEDs (which is normal, right?)
Down the silver power button to restart, nothing.
Plugged the AC supply (because the battery is fully charged, see above...): all of THE lights is empty, no lights at all.
Pressing the new button, NO RESPONSE AT ALL, it totally DEAD!

What could have caused this? What can I do? any help appreciated, thanks.

    very desperate, lionmouth

    Hello

It seems that there is a hardware error that couldn t be repaired by a biosupdate or something. You will need to bring your machine to a partner of service approved for repair/hardwarecheckup. One of my friends had a similar problem with its 6100 with exactly the same symptoms and his "mother" was defective. But at this time the machine was still in warranty so I Don t know how´s with your mobile phone.

    See you soon

  • Satellite P750 / 02Q - cannot get the VANTEC dual HDD dock to work

I bought a dock of VANTEC HDD dual (USB 3.0).
I can't get the two disc work (one disc is visible at a time).
After researching on the Web, it may be that my Satellite P750 / 02 Q does not support the "port multiplier.

So if I buy, say, an external USB 3.0 HUB, this will fix my problem?

    Hello

for eSATA, the specifications of the system must support Port multiplier (PM) but if you connect the dock to the USB port, the USB port must support just the USB 2.0 standard.

TRZ to connect the dock to different USB ports on your laptop

  • Is it possible to install Windows 7 on Satellite Pro 6100

Is it possible to install windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite pro 6100 computer? I am currently using windows XP.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

Do you really think on installing Windows 7 over several years old Satellite Pro 6100?

In my opinion, it won't work because it is too old and not fast enough. Newer operating system that is supported by Toshiba is Windows XP and this should be the best choice for good old classic.

So just to be satisfied with Windows XP, it's a good choice for older computers! :)

  • Install the new hard drive on Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello

I have the Satellite Pro 6100 and the hard drive has failed. Bought a new hard drive but have no idea where to begin to install it. Also, I have the product key for windows xp pro, but don't have a disc. Is there a way to get around get one, or someone has any ideas please?

    Thank you

    Michelle

Hmmmm... It's very strange that you n t have idea how to start. Throughout history, there are only two options:
-for the installation of an operating system you can use the original Toshiba Recovery disk that came with this laptop. If you n t have it then
-use the Microsoft installation for the installation of the OS disc. All the drivers, tools and utilities must be installed Additionally one by one. Each of them you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads

Please note: the product key at the bottom belongs to original recovery image so you probably won't be able to use it for the activation of the operating system.

  • Can't see the new hard drive on my Satellite Pro 6100

I bought a new Toshiba 40 GB hard drive for my Satellite Pro 6100.
I installed it in the Bay, but it is not recognized in the BIOS, or when I try to reinstall using the recovery disk!
Bios recognize that there are in the car, even if it is not formatted?
    I'm missing something?

    Thanks in advance

    Neil

    It should work!

The reader should also be recognized that even he is not formatted...

    3 things you can do:
At the start you can go in bootmenu and check if the drive is recognized on the 1st controller.
If this is not the case, check the configuration of the drive (master, slave, CSEL).

If this is not enough to check the toshiba support website and download the latest version of the bios (probably you already have, check as mentioned above)

If this does not work your new drive (or worse: your controller) could be faulty. If the reader of the Moose still work on your laptop, check the 40 GB drive to another laptop or PC with adapter ATA connection normal.

  • Re: What can I do to get my Satellite Pro 6100 from the dead?

It's now quite a few years I have a * Satellite Pro 6100 *. I recently had the following problem.

    * _Problem_ *.
When I press the power button to turn the computer into the AC power light starts flashing orange light (flashes come in groups of eight, the second and eighth flash are longer). Nothing else happens: the computer is dead as a brick. To stop the flashing, I have to disconnect the main power supply and remove the battery.
    * + Note: the power supply is ok.

    * _Question_ *.
What should I do to restore normal operation?

    Thank you

    Hello

I put t think you will be able to do anything that would bring back the laptop from the dead.

According to your description books sends a flashing error code that appears always if a motherboard error has been detected.

In your case only an ASP might help you.

First, the technician would be able to read the code and then to know what part is malfunctioning.

In the worst cases, the motherboard must be replaced; (and this could be a costly affair.

    Good luck
