Satellite Pro A100-CS3: try to identify the laptop

Hello

My wife received a laptop to use with his work. It is marked as a Satellite Pro A100 CS3. I tried to find the drivers for the WIFI (Win XP) but no Toshiba site does recognize the A100-CS3. Can someone help me out here. Thank you.

It is also called PSAACE, so work on that assumption, that of WLAN driver I need - Intel or Atheros?

  • Satellite Pro A100 PSAASE: How to get the FN keys work in Win XP

    Hey,.

I bought the PSAASE Satellite Pro A100-00H004GR and killed Win Vista. Now it's Windows XP Pro!

There is no Win XP Modem drivers on the Toshiba Page for this model, but I solved this problem by myself.
But now my Fn keys/keyboard shortcut does not work and I have no idea what to do. I've tried Hotkey utility of the other models, but it does not work.

No idea what to do now?

Full Support of driver for each model would be great...

    Thank you

Hi I found the usefulness of Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 PSAA3 shortcut keys.
It is not the same series, but try to install it. Maybe it will work!

Don t forget to also install the common Modules

  • Satellite Pro A100-622 can not read the card SD and Memory Stick with Windows Explorer

I have a Satellite Pro A100-622 running MS Vista Home Basic Edition. I tried to use the card reader integrated with SD and Memory Stick card but cannot view the contents using Windows Explorer.

In both cases, the laptop recognizes the card and try to install new hardware. Unable to do so, he asks the drive of the software provided with the cards. Any software not provided with a card and I cannot find drivers to make the drive work.

The only application that I can find on the laptop that is associated with the player is a module of SD formatting, but I don't want to format the card (s) I want to just read the current content of them and add files.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

You can download the drivers (and especially in your case for the sd-card-reader) here:

    http://PC-support.Toshiba-Europe.com/Vista/

    and here

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

So the other point is the service of the SD card must be enabled in the start menu-> Control Panel (change to Classic view)-> Administration-> Services-> Chip card (at this point, you must activate the service and configure it to start at windows startup).

If you have any other questions, just ask. ;)

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro A100 very slow, especially at the start

Hi, I just bought a laptop Satellite Pro A100. In general, I'm very happy with it, but I find it very slow especially at startup. It may take more than 5 minutes to be completely started.

Are there settings or settings that I can do to fix this?

    Hello

I agree with the previous user of the forum. I often heard that Norton slows down the system quickly. Try to remove it and test it again.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Trojan warning message during the windows BIOS update

Trying to update my Bios through windows, my anti virus (f-secure) has a crush on decompressing the zip file a warning.

The warning pointed out that the folder contained a Trojan horse and that he had been cleared to protect my computer.
A warning from microsoft also said that access to these files had been blocked to protect your system.

Is it possible that this update, downloaded from Toshiba really contain malware or could there be another reason for this event?

    Hi james

Don't you panic! You BIOS are not affected by Trojans, Malware or viruses.
For the most part these BIOS files are not known for anti-virus applications and, consequently, anti virus software reports and notifies a virus.

Before you start the update of the BIOS, you must disable automatic virus protection!

    > I had already checked and cannot see the pilot
I don't believe that. I checked the Toshiba download page, and you can see two LAN drivers for your model laptop.
Install the latest version 9.2.24 and I think everything will be OK.

    Hello

I'm no expert, but I think that something like that does not exist. HARD drive is the product of mass and also one Extensible parts on every laptop.

I must say that the previous user has the right idea. If you use the password to protect your operating system, it may be the best evidence for you.

  • Satellite Pro A100-622: Impossible to activate the card PCI-E BT

    Hello

so, I have this laptop and it doesn't have the internal Bluetooth module or no connections to install one.
So I bought a combo wifi/Bluetooth Broadcom pci-e card and WiFi part works fine but the Bluetooth part is not recognized,

When you install the Bluetooth driver that I get "turn on Bluetooth", the fn + f8 does nothing so I was wondering if the pci-e connector is limited in the connections of the pins or there may be another question.

Is there any software for Toshiba to throw the switch on the pci-e card?

What is the exact brand and model of your handset device name?

I guess the part Bluetooth is also a USB device as any device Bluetooth standard of our days.
Nevertheless, the ID of the material seems to be unknown to the Bluetooth stack.
So you could check the VID/PID string in your Bluetooth device device manager and
Add it to the file 'tosrfusb.inf '. This file is used by Toshiba Bluetooth stack to identify the
Bluetooth hardware. Maybe a new hardware detection will work now.

  • Satellite Pro L500 - press Fn key blocks the laptop computer to blue screen

    Hi all
First post so please ask if I did not include all the necessary information.

I have the Satellite Pro L500-1TX (Win 7 32 bit os) and everything worked fine including the Fn menu drop-down button.

Now, whenever I press the Fn key, it blocks the laptop to a blue screen. The computer then restarts automatically and that it was an unplanned shutdown offers the usual safe mode option.

Unfortunately, I do not know when this started as I do not use the fn often hesitate so just do a system restore. I don't know how far back to go. It was several weeks before I associated accidents hit the Fn key.

Any suggestions as to which Toshiba drivers may need to be reinstalled. The computer otherwise works fine.

    Cheers in advance

Great! Thanks for this feedback that I also found other threads about Support Flash Card utility and it is the tool command keys FN so read the forum in other threads contributes without doubt! ;)

  • Satellite Pro A100 PSAAPE: WLan signal off the power switches when you restart

    I have a pro satellite a 100 psaape.
Whenever I reboot the signal turns off wireless.
I have to manually enable the wireless switch to get a signal to go online.

Is this normal or is at - it a way to get this automated so that it is always on.

    Hello

This is normal since the needs of subssystem wireless initialized manually by the user. But I think it should probably be an option to automate the it.
I would like to check it out and give some feedback. On the other side, you should look for some options like 'turn on wireless to start windows' and so on...

  • Satellite Pro A100 will not start!

    Hello

I am having trouble with a Tosh. Satellite Pro A100 (model: PSAACE).

The laptop was acting kinda funny for the last week (turned off on its own, saying that it is running on battery when pluged) then today he has decided to power off on it's own and does not restart.

Having checked it of get out the power supply, have tried with and without the etcetc... This battery with no luck...

When I press the power button the only thing that happens is the symble of battery next to her light flashed orange 11 times (same lengtht flashed
    SS each time).

Can anyone shed light on what is wrong with it? Or what this error on the battery light code is trying to say?

    See you soon

    Matt

    Hello

    > When I press the power button, the only thing that happens is light with the symbol of the pile beside it flashed orange 11 times (same length flashes each time).

Hmm I think that it s a hardware problem. I would say that this s a motherboard problem.
Is the motherboard provides and flashing, error code.
This only happens if a serious hardware problem has been detected

Unfortunately, only the ASP can read this code and may know what this code means but certainly must be a hardware problem.

In this case an ASP is your last resort.

    Good luck

  • Satellite Pro A100-830 with 4 GB of memory but the BIOS tells me that I have only 3 GB

I have a Satellite Pro A100-830 and I bought the maximum memory for what is 2x2gb, for a total of 4 GB in my world. When I put the DIMMs in themselves in a slot, the BIOS reports 2 GB. BIOS Bravo! When I put both together, I see only 3 GB in the bios!

I found this link on the Crucial site. http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.asp?QID=4251

Suggest page files, peripherals etc. occupy memory on your system at startup, before the operating system is used I guess. If you do not have the maximum memory installed, you should see the total memory. If you got the maximum memory installed, you will not see the memory used by page etc. files. Why would it be? Why you would see 2 GB if you have only 2 GB but then see 3 GB if you have 4 GB due to the system!

Anyone can shed some light on this subject and be eligible or reject the information in this link. I need to replace the memory and/or the pc?

    Thank you

    Mark

This is not a BIOS problem but a Windows.
    I found this info:
Windows XP Professional 32-bit is limited to 4 GB of address space. If you have 4 GB of RAM installed, it won't show 4 GB in Windows. You will probably get what the size of your pagefile subtracted the 4 GB.

Some of this address space is reserved for the hardware and the operating system... so you will never have access to the 4 GB maximum in any case. If you want access to 4 GB of RAM +... your best solution is to pick up XP Pro 64 - bit... but this will only work if your CPU P4 has EMT64. (64-bit)
You can also try to turn on DEP if it is not already enabled... This will also allow EAP that can give you access to all 4 GB

    So finally a response:
    > Do I need to replace the memory and/or the pc
-> No, everything is ok... you need not to change the hardware
