Hi Peter,.

Try you to an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 at the moment? If Yes, please try a new and clean Windows 7 installation. It work?

Another question: your CD/DVD drive works properly or it appears with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager?
In your case, I would try to remove the drive from Device Manager, then restart the laptop. After that the drive will be recognized automatically.

    Hello

I created an image of XP RIS for a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 and have downloaded the correct drivers for this laptop.

I scoured internet solutions on how to configure the .sif file and where to install this driver on the image that he won't seek the intall the storage driver so that it can not find the Sata HD to install the image.

Everyone knows that before and if so please could you point me in the right direction I've been struggling with this for a few days now!

    Thank you

    Hello

You must include the SATA drivers.
The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, which can be downloaded from the Intel and Toshiba page page.

Here's a nice instruction how to do this:

  • Satellite Pro L20 - cannot install Windows XP

    Hello!

I discovered this great forum and wanted to try my luck with the following problem. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!

I do a clean install of Windows XP on my Toshiba Satellite Pro LP20. I don't have the original Windows XP cd that came with the computer, but have you tried many (legitimate) copies of Windows XP with the same result:

The first step of the installation works fine, IE. files are copied from the CD to the hard drive and the computer restarts once the process is complete. However, during the restart to calculate, is wrong on the second phase of the facility (where continues the installation of windows XP graphic), but goes back to the DOS file copy process. This means, even if the files have been successfully copied from the CD to the hard drive, the computer does not recognize that there is a current operating system.

The problem is not in the boot order, like the HARD drive is my number 1 option, and tried without the installation Cd in the drive. In this case the computer says only: "no operating system found".

Where is the problem? Is this a problem of motherboard BIOS, or do you recon that the HARD disk is somehow broken? I know that the problem is not in the XP installation CD, because it works fine on other computers.

    Thank you!

It's not easy to say what is the problem and what are the causes of the problem.
You can try another drive to install Microsoft?

In my opinion, it could be a problem with the HARD drive. Then you should check this with the Drive Fitness Test.
Google for this test, it of quite easy to use.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - cannot install Windows XP

Material: Satellite Pro L40, HDD 80 GB, 1.5 GB of RAM

Software: Windows XP + SP2 install CD, floppy disk with AHCI HDD ICH8M_32bit drivers drivers created according to the instructions in "how to install Windows XP on a L40.pd"f of Toshiba (which is pretty outdated by the way!)

Problem: The start is fine, after pressing F6 quick to add drivers is very good, set up windows starts.
Then I get this message on the screen: insert the disc labeled "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" in the A: drive. Press ENTER when you are ready.
This is not mentioned in the installation instructions.

Well, I don't have a disc labeled like that. I only have the disk that I created according to the instructions in the PDF above.
It is already in the drive, so I press ENTER and nothing happens.

My only other option is to quit smoking. Tried to quit smoking and going through the whole process several times - always eventually return to this impasse.

    (sigh)

    Can anyone help? Please?

I think that you have made a mistake, because I never have problems to use the SATA drivers.
Have you tried to do the floppy drive with the drivers and where did you download the drivers? Maybe you should try to download again on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

And have you tried to create your own with the drivers installation disk? You can do this with nLite for example. I prefer this because that is why I n t need an external floppy drive.
    It s worth a try! ;)

  • Satellite Pro A200 cannot connect to the wireless network

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A200 and Tuesday night I was able to connect to a wireless network. I received an update, rebooted and now it doesn t seem to work.

I can see the wireless networks available via the Toshiba Radar but cannot connect to my usual wireless network.
Also, the wireless network icon disappeared from my system tray and if I go to Control Panel/network connections, I can't even view available networks because there is no option to do so.

    Any ideas?
    the FN/F8 will work?
    Help! Please, I beg you!

Have you tried using System Restore and restore the operating system on time earlier?
Maybe this will remove the update installed, and you can again use the WLAN.

    Check it out.

    Hello

Please see the Knowledge Base Microsoft for all BSOD codes:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/324103

In any case, this means that you have integrated a bad driver AHCI or you don t use a.
The point is before installing Windows XP, you need the right driver AHCI because otherwise you will get a BSOD or your HARD drive will not be recognized.
On laptops equipped with Intel chipset, you need the Intel Storage Manager driver package because it contains the correct driver for you. You can download it on the Toshiba site or the Intel Web site.

The drivers, you can copy on an external floppy drive and then you load it after booting from the XP disc by pressing F6. Or you create a new installation with our own drivers disc, and then you don't need an external floppy drive. For this, you can use nLite.

Finally and most importantly, I think that this Toshiba link might be useful for you:

  • The mouse no longer works on Satellite Pro A200-1F9 (on Windows and Linux)

Hello. Suddenly, my USB mouse doesn't work on my satellite pro A200-1F9 laptop. I had this same problem on my Linux (Ubuntu Feisty) for the last week or two, but today was the first time that the mouse no longer works in Windows. Ideas for what's gone wrong? (If I boot Linux with the attached mouse, I get an error message when loading upward.) The mouse does not work it is logged at startup or I plug it later).

Under Windows and Linux, the laptop still recognizes my external HD which also has a USB connection...

    Thanks, Shoko.

In my opinion, you should test the USB feature. If you are 100% sure that the USB ports are working well check your mouse or try to use the other.

    Laptop mouse pad still works?

I assume that you have downloaded the zip package.
Rename the package for example in "display driver" and then uncompress the package.
Then go to the folder where the driver was decompressed and then launch the installation.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 on an external hard drive

Mr President, I want to install win7 in external hard drive operating system, but I get an error message saying "windows cannot be installed on this configrationof installation or installation on the disk drive, connect to a usb port or ieee 1394".my contact no. is 09660166247 and my email is * address email is removed from the privacy * help

Cannot install Windows 7 on an external storage device. You must install it on an internal storage device.

  • Cannot install Windows 8 on the replacement hard drive

I got the replacement from Dell hard drive which he said would come with Windows 8 and pre-installed drivers. Well, I installed the hard drive and he said no. OS can be found. I didn't have a chance to make my own backup discs, but Dell sent a CD Windows 8 recovery media with the laptop and now with the replacement hard drive.

When you try to install Windows 8 on the new hard drive, I get to the part where it tells me to choose a partition to install Windows 8 on and none of them will not let me. There are 5 to choose from and I don't know what to do to get past this. The largest partition either 5A about 934 GB of space left out of 1 TB, but as I said I can't choose it or one of the other ones for the installation.

You just have to click on next, in any case, despite the message?  Otherwise:

Start on the DVD of Windows 8, instead of install now, click repair your computer, Advanced Options, invites ... when it opens, type the following:

    DiskPart
    Select disk 0
    clean

    Then, try to install.

The above will remove all the data partition and disk, allowing you to do a clean install on an empty drive (these scores are not required, and Windows will create its own partitions (two) he needs to install and run).

  • Satellite Pro M200 - cannot start Windows

I have a Satellite Pro M200 PSMC4A, did an update Windows, requsted to restart, then the black screen as follows:
Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. Equip the installtion disk and restart. Problem 1: having no disk - lost I think. Lost file is \Boot\BCD.

Tried different legal remedies without success. Disk Windows XP used to reinstall but now says cannot see all hard drives!
    All of the suggestions.

    Hello

You can access the advanced boot menu? If so, you should try to start in charge more than the last known good configuration.
If this is not the only option is to reinstall Windows I think. Therefore, you can take a Microsoft or Toshiba drive. If you don t have the Toshiba disk recovery, contact the service provider authorized in your country.

I think that the recognized HARD wasn t disc because you need SATA drivers. Did you check that?

  • Satellite Pro A120 - cannot install recovery disc

    Hi - I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E-04H00VEN model number

It was less his hard drive and I posted previously to try a 160 GB drive without success. I thought that the drive may be defective, so I have now acquired a 120 GB drive. It is not new, but assured me that it works. However, it does not work in this laptop! As before (with the disk 160), when I try to install it using the Toshiba restore disc, the operation just sticks on the "Please wait..." message. "for 30 minutes then the machine shuts down. Assuming that the hard drive is ok there at - it something more, that I can do to determine the problem with this laptop?

FYI, this is what happens after installing the hard drive:
I turn it on and get this message: NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.
I insert the product recovery disc, put off and then again when you press F12.
I get a soft Purring over the Toshiba logo. I select the CD/DVD symbol and get a short message saying: the installer inspects the hardware configuration of your computer.
I then get RAMDISK image loading... which takes less than 2 minutes.
I then get a short message saying: from Windows Preinstallation Environment. Press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver...
I then get it please wait... and after 10 seconds, the fan goes into overdrive! This Carry on during 30 minutes with him please wait... message, then the laptop turns off automatically.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you.

    Hi Lapitup,

Before you buy another HARD drive, you need to test a different installation disk you have already tried the two hard disks with the same problem so I think that the problem is not HARD drive itself

If you have a normal installation disc of Windows, you can install Windows on this drive. So you can check if the recovery disk works properly or not. Theoretically, the disc could be wiped off so that the files cannot be read properly.

In the worst cases, some of the material is affected. Then, you need professional help of an authorized service provider.

    Satellite Pro is exactly (A200-xxx)?
Obviously you has not installed the right driver WLAN if the wireless network adapter is not listed and recognized correctly in Device Manager.
