Satellite Pro A200 - how to activate the new device LAN card?
I have a Satellite Pro A200 and I replaced the card with an Intel 5100 (512AN_MMW) wireless and it detects OK and installs the drivers etc, but it does not work because he says that the switch is turned off on the front of the laptop. The switch is on I also tried pressing fn + f8, but it still does not work.
The laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit
What card WLAN have you had before and do the work of a former?
I think that it of difficult to say why it doesn t work but maybe this card is not compatible.
By the way: do other FN keys FN + F8 work or simply not?
Hello. I've recently updated my satellite pro a100-828 to windows vista, and things work well to a large extent with two exceptions:
1. I can't figure out how to activate the shortcut keyboard-support: media-keys to the left and the fn keys do nothing. There seems to be no shortcut keyboard-utility for windows vista in the drivers * tion. So what to do?
2. the standby electricity utility is not available, which is good because of the power saver new vista. Except that I can't dim the screen, so the battery does not last me too long. How can I do this?
Thanks in advance
These problems can be solved in a few minutes. You only need the added package Toshiba. It contains the driver for the FN - key, Toshiba Power Saver and more useful tips.
Here you can download:

Good luck! :)
How to activate the bluetooth connection?
First check to see if your computer supports BT
If the laptop supports BT, then you should find a BT tag at the bottom of the unit.
If there is no label then your machine was not equipped with internal BT module!
If the laptop supports BT, then use the FN + F8 key to go to the BT
Then BT should start installation and configuration.
For more details, see this forum and this Toshiba BT Portal:

Thanks 4 your help.
Hmm, in some cases the BIOS contains an HDMI output option.
In your case, I recommend to check this.
I have not very well if this available but it s m of a value in a control.
But usually the Fn + F5 should work as described in the user manual... did you check that?
How can I turn on the audio / sounds on my keyboard so that it creates a beep or similar, whenever I have to press a button - I need this because I keep missing keys and make a lot of typos.
I tried all obvious and don't see any mention of how to do this anywhere?
I can just confirm that there is no standard option WXP and for that and you need some additional software.
Expensive chain, you are great. I really wonder how you find it. ;)
A BIG Thank YOU for your great job offers!

My U200 came with pre-installed OneNote, but it keeps asking for a license number. It's something and it is installed but you need to go and buy a copy, or if there was a license with the PC?

You can find the registration key at the bottom of the recovery of Toshiba CD cover
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem. So, any help is welcome and appreciated.
My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.
You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.
If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.
Check this box!

Please send additional information!
I just bought a laptop Satellite Pro A200, which was supplied with the product for Vista and XP Recovery discs.
The license specifically Vista also XP licenses.
Can I set up a dual boot so that I can boot to Vista or XP? If so, how?
I would also like a third boot, Red Hat Linux 9.
Hmmm. Usually it s possible to use two or more operating systems on the computer, but as far as I know the Toshiba Vista recovery CD formats whole disk when installing Vista and this will lead to the loss of the OS installed.
I m not 100% sure on the recovery of the newest XP CD called RECON doesn t CD include an expert mode which allows to choose between the different partitions.
So I guess that each use the recovery CD will format the HARD drive and erase the installed data. But of course, you can try to install the two BONES and to check if the restore XP CD allows to choose the second part of the installation of the OS.
If it does not, it seems that you will need to an original XP from Microsoft CD or the original CD of Vista to use the two BONES.
I must be a fool.
I put in power button new Satellite Pro A200 to activate the Hibernate.
Then set the BIOS password. Despite the password entered correctly, it won't start windows.
And can't stop laptop holding down the power button to force the reboot.
(1) how to restart short waiting until the batterys flat roll... And
(2) when and if I get a reboot, which key (s) should I hold down to get into the BIOS.
Thank you much for the help.
> Despite the entered password correctly, it won't start windows.
> Nor can I stop laptop holding down the power button to force the reboot
You have a Phoenix BIOS? If yes then you have to press the F2 key immediately after the laptop starts to access the BIOS. But you will not be able to access the BIOS, if the password is not right and cannot be verified.
The unknown BIOS password can be removed only by an ASP in your country. There is a special procedure that is known only to authorized Toshiba service technicians.
Therefore, follow the recommendation and contact guys!
PS: The laptop must stop when you press the power button for about 4-5 sec.
If not, unplug the AC and the battery to turn off the computer!
When I try and load XP Pro SP3 (32 bit) it will not install because it doesn't have SATA drivers. I downloaded the drivers and have an external floppy drive to install drivers by pressing F6. My question is the machine is listed as 64-bit and XP Pro is 32-bit. Choose the drivers ICH8M 32 or 64 bits. IE is the 32 or 64 bit on ICH8M see hardware or operating system. Computer's Satellite Pro A200 PSAE4E-01700WEN.
Any help appreciated
If you are using the 64 bit OS, then also use 64-bit drivers.
I found very nice HowTo from Toshiba.
Check it! It s certainly interesting and should be useful.

I have Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE1E) with XP Pro.
I made a mistake and tried to update the Realtek audio drivers, knit drivers, but does not show the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel to the top, not in the system tray, or in the Control Panel folder.
I contacted Realtek, they gave me a program that analyzed my HW and then they said that my phone is not supported, I must ask the crazy drivers my manufacturer, laptops, Toshiba.
I tried the drivers that were running [Toshiba - download drivers | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp] page, but those who did not work either.
So, there is one thing I can do, if it is possible, how can I get drivers of Toshiba recovery disks, without having to reinstall everything again?
Something like this is not possible. Recovery image is somehow the package, you can not only pilots.
Have you tried to roll back the OS (System Restore) before you did this updates?

Is anyone know where (or if) I can download installation / for the Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 recovery CD.
See you soon,.
The recovery CD can not be downloaded!
Must order it from the ASP in your country if you have damage or lose!
But I really don t understand why you ask this question! These questions are answered several times! First check the existing threads before you ask for something!
