Satellite Pro A200, Windows XP, 4 GB SDHC card will not work.

Hello

I had a Satellite Pro A200 installed with Windows XP, SP2 for some time - no problem, a great piece of kit. However I have recently bought a new camera and splashed by a Kingston 4 GB SDHC card. The manual for my A200 to indicate seemes that it my laptop is compatible with SDHC 4 GB cards but when I push the card in the blue LED flashes and then nothing happens. My SDHC card does not seem to be recognized by the system.

I see no error in the log of the events of my OS and I checked the slots operation in trying an old 512Mb SD card and works very well.

Anyone can offer help please?

For reference, this laptop is a PSAE4E A200 model.

Thanks in advance

Simon

  • SDHC card do not work on the Satellite A200-1J0 with a clean Vista install

    Greetings,

When I bought this laptop he had 32-bit Vista preinstalled and as usual some Toshiba drivers and software. As I remember there wasn't that no problem with no built in memory card reader, he read regular SD and SDHC cards.

One day I had to reinstall the operating system (without using the recovery disc) and I downloaded the drivers for my laptop's official website, install and the card reader now is not able to read SDHC cards. Is it me?

That's what I installed for the reader:

-Toshiba Value Added Package, where is TOSHIBA Flash Cards inside
    -Flashmedia driver
    Utilities - SD

I just want to underline that there is no problem with reading mmc or normal sd cards.
My sdhc card is 100% works correctly with other card readers.
Another sdhc card I have does not work, it's just that I put anything inside the player.

    Just nothing happens.
Is there something else that I missed, and it is the reason for my problem?

No fix for Vista or something like that?

    Hello

You the problem with SD cards are certainly related to the software I think that your drivers/utilities are installed isn't properly (in order) or on Vista may miss something.

    Maybe you don t know what important thing;
It is very important to install the driver (no matter that drivers;) XP or Vista) in the right order.
For most an installation instruction is placed on the page of the European driver Toshiba, which contains the essential installation order.

As I m not wrong not the A200-1J0 belongs to the series PSAE6E and you must choose this series first to get all the compatible drivers for you series.

    By the way;

The Flash Media Driver is a bridge Media Slot driver. This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.
The SD utilities contains utility Format SD Memory Card and other SD functions like utility of SD memory.

These three applications are very important to use SD cards.

I bought my HP photosmart envy a few months ago.  I signed up for the free update to windows 10.  I had no problem until yesterday, I noticed that my SD card does not work.  When I insert an sd card that I know has the pictures, there is no pop up asking me what I want to do with photos.  When I go into my files to find that the external storage device manually there is no such folder showing.  What should I do?  I use my card sd slot all the time and now its useless.

    Hello:

Please unzip the file in its folder (right click on the file zipped, select extract).

Then after that he extracted, open the folder and then inside is a different folder, open that then double-click to run the Setup file of blue, then the driver will be installed.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - peripheral display Hotkey Utility for XP is not available

I just got 6 x A200s (PSAE1E-00Q002EN). These have been pre-installed with Vista, however, because of the software platform in place in my institution, I've restored the operating system to Windows XP.

All the drivers installed fine form the Toshiba support pages and the standard image that we deploy for laptops was created. However, some features are unavailable in Windows XP.

Namely, the 'Fn' key for switching display device (like changing the brightness/touchpad market etc.). The ability to switch displays quickly and with a simple User Interface is vital for my users since it is a function, they perform several times a day, with many of them barely in computer science.

The Institute, I work for have bought a lot of laptop Toshiba (going to the Satellite Pro model from the early 1800s until A120s and A200s!) and until the A200s it was Windows XP - I hope as the Toshiba release a fix for this.

    Hello

The FN keys don't work because of the problem of BIOS with Windows XP compatibility.
I assume that FN + F3 and F4 key combination functions.
This is a special function that belongs to the Toshiba Power saver and this help, you can switch to standby and hibernation mode!

I put t know if you tried to update the BIOS, but maybe this will allow functionality Fn key!

But note; Update the BIOS is always risky! The bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure may damage the ROM module where the BIOS is stored!

    Hello

    > I ve downloaded everything from the support page

It seems that you have not downloaded any driver and utilities, or you have the drivers installed in the wrong order.
Did you follow the guidelines in the installation instructions? Isn't it? Why not?

If you install the drivers listed in the installation instructions, everything will work ;)

Have you tested other combination of FN keys or only FN + F8 does not work?

If only the WLAN power switch doesn t work it could be linked to the WLAN driver is the WLAN card in Device Manager correctly or you see a yellow exclamation point?

  • Satellite 1900-803: Hi-Speed USB 2.0 card does not work

I have a portable satellite 1900-803. I recently bought and installed a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Notebook Card, but it does not work. Manual of the card says that after the successful installation, I'd see a second 'USB bus controllers' heading which I did not. I even it was replaced by another one thinking that there could be some problems with the drivers, but it still does not work. whenever I plug in a device such as an mp3 player, a digital camera or a usb storage device, windows locks all of a sudden upward, won't move the cursor, the function ctrl-alt-del does not work and the worst of it, I can't turn off the machine!

the map shows that it runs on any 32-bit location.

I have the manual and the Device Manager to see if mine is a 32-bit, but I don't really know. This is probably the reason why it doesn't work? or is there another reason to make it work not? If this is the reason why, is there a way where I can upgrade my laptop's pc card slot to make it work?

    Help, please.

I posted this question yesterday morning and did not get a single response. is it because it has to do with an older laptop? Please, someone, help...

    Hello

Have you checked the Bios? I guess that the Bios Toshiba was preinstalled on your laptop. Am I wrong? There should be an option to change the PC Card controller mode.

Here, you can change the mode of the automatic selection, CCIP compatible controller or card bus/16-bit.
If the card supports 32-bit so you should use the 16-bit option.

I think you should play a little with this option and possibly that the card will work.

  • Qosmio F50 - 108 - Toshiba Flash Cards will not work with Windows 7

    Hello

anyone tried to install Windows Seven? I tried.
Everything works fine (Wlan, Lan, sound, etc.), but one thing is unable to work on my laptop: Toshiba Flash Cards.
I installed the driver, and nothing happened...

Any idea to solve this problem? Because I usually used it in Vista.

Thank you and sorry for my English ;-)

    Hello

The Toshiba Flash Cards has been designed for Windows Vista only

Windows 7 is very similar to the Vista and many pilots could and would go with Windows 7, but in very rare cases certain tools would not fully compatible

The Toshiba Flash Cards is not a driver; It s a utility that seems to be is not compatible with Windows 7

  • 32 GB SDHC card does not work on CAMILEO H20

    Can anyone help?

I recently bought the camcorder above. I bought a 32 GB memory card class 6 SDHC separately.

The map seems to work fine on my PC as a memory device.
However, I can't work on the camcorder.
I formatted the card on the PC and the camera but still does not work.
When formatted on the camcorder it won't be approved by it (it says MEMORY FULL) and when it is formatted by PC, it can record sequences for a few seconds and then stop without saving the images.
However, I managed to take some photos (only when I formatted the PC) but they will not be recognized by the camera (it shows a folder with a! on this subject) and I can't see any on the PC!
I also tried a different SD CARD 256 MB, but it's always the same problem

I would appreciate any suggestions or comments!

    Thank you

    Hello cygamer,

This seems really odd. I also have a Camileo H20 and I use it with a 32 GB SDHC card.
    I am able to record movies with a 32 GB SDHC (Class6) - 09:01 pm - Full HD (1080 p) / 18:03 h HD (720 p).
    Also I can make pictures with the 32 GB SDHC (Class6) - 10,571 pcs. -High (8mp) / 14.415 pcs. -Standard (5mp) / 26.428 pcs. -Poor quality (3mp).

So, it seems that the issue is not the TV.
Try to insert the sd card locked and unlocked after this insertion.
Please install the full battery and just trying to format the card inside the camera again.
Another point, that you can do is to format the internal memory and set the camera to the default settings.

    welcome them

  • Satellite Pro P300-276: switch WLan on the front does not work

    Hello.

I have a problem with my laptop and would like to receive help or ideas. The switch to forward wireless network adapter does not work.

It works when I push it to the right and keep pushing it. Then light work, he finds the network, and the convenience store told me that everything is working well. When I let go, the light turns off, it can't find the network and the convenience store tells me that I have to put on the wireless network adapter.

I suspect that it is a physical problem and I need to get the machine repaired. But if someone has a quick easy solution or a recommendation, then I would like.

I'm online now using an ethernet cable (via a powerline adapter, which I tend to use anyway). Furthermore, the laptop is great and I love the big screen.

    Thanks in advance,

    Matthew

Yes, in my opinion, his mechanical problem in something wrong with the switch may be a loser contact

I think that the one and only one solution: laptop must be disassembled and the switch needs to be replaced

But it is not easy and to be honest I advise to use a dongle USB external WiFi instead of paying lots of money to get this replaced change.
