Satellite Pro A300 - required DVD replacement

Hi, I am a beginner.

Have two variants of the A300. A single DVD drive broken and has been deleted (not by me). Want to replace it, but another player does not fit so can not easy to find a replacement.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Hey Buddy,

Yes, not all readers are compatible with all laptops, so you need a new CD/DVD drive that fits and is compatible.

Sometimes in the user manual, you will find a list of compatible drives so I would recommend consultation with the user manual. On the first pages are lists with compatible drives AFAIK.

If this is not the case, contact the nearest service provider authorized in your country. Guys need to know which drive will be is compatible and can sell it. :)

What do you mean sometimes does not work? Do you say, Autoplay, or something else?

  • Need to host key for my Satellite Pro A300

    Hello

Is there anywhere I can get a 'Home' for my Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 button without replacing the entire keyboard? I asked around, but the stores do not have individual keys.
My House key is broken and doesn't stay on properly and I would like a new.

    Thank you

You are right. You cannot order a unique key. For this kind of situation the best option is eBay.
You can buy used keyboards and it costs a few Euros.

Last month, I sold a keyboard used for A300 on eBay and got 14 Euros. It's really cheap and you can buy it.
When you get it, you try to fix this unique key or Exchange the entire keyboard.

Sorry, but I don't think that there is another solution for this problem.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - DVD drawer will not open most of the time

I have a portable Satellite Pro A300-1NH. The DVD drawer opens not most of the time. Sometimes it does, but most of the time it isn't.
Sometimes, if I can get a DVD/CD in the drawer for something to burn, burning works.
Most of the time the computer does not recognize that there is a disc, and then I can't open the drawer again to get it out.

Can anyone tell a novice what should I do to resolve this issue please?

It looks like a mechanical problem. You need to replace or insert a PIN or no folded into a small hole on the plateau near the exit button whenever he is stuck.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - 2C4 "Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD" upgrade

We have a Satellite Pro A300 - 2C4 (bought on 23-11-09) that came with Vista Business 32-bit installed, but has been downgraded (using the provided diskette) to Windows XP due to the demands of corporate network.

When Windows 7 became available, I bought the DVD to upgrade to Windows 7 Toshiba provided so that if the company decided to upgrade to the new operating system, we could do it on this laptop.

That's what I tried recently to discover that we can't do as the DVD is for Win Vista upgrade Windows 7 Pro. What is the best way to upgrade without having to buy another drive to upgrade. I have a set of recovery disks for an another Toshiba SatellitePro A300 - 2 4 which was bought about 2 months before this one. These were created using the Toshiba recovery software before any changes have been made on the laprop. Would I be able to restore the system to its state of Windows Vista using these disks and then use the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD to make the upgarde?

Suggestions or recommendations would be greatly received.

This upgrade package offered by Toshiba is upgraded from Vista to Win7. So if you want to use it, you must install Vista recovery image at first.

After that, you can upgrade pre-installed Vista to Win7 following the Toshiba s implementation instructions.
I did the same thing my Qosmio X 300.

If you cannot use created recovery disc either s order Toshiba Vista recovery disk or (perhaps the best solution) install the clean version of Win7. A300 is fully supported for Win7 and you can download all the necessary drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.

  • Required for Satellite Pro A300-PSAG1E0 recovery media

Hi guys I have a bit of a problem with my laptop (Satellite Pro A300-PSAG1E0). Although some questions really

I had the laptop bought as gift second hand from eBay. Registration said the notebook had Downgrade XP support provided on DVD that he was not and that I could create a copy of the recovery media using the construction in software which is not that there is no creator thereon recovery software.

I believe that the laptop is running an illegal version of Windows, as the product key sticker says it is intended to be run Vista Home top and it works in windows 7.

The seller disappeared and he is not answering all of my calls. IM at my end of whits thereby as being a low income means that I can't really afford to buy an official Windows disk or recovery media.

Any help on how I could get the recovery disks or advice on how I can get a legal copy of Windows would be great. I also have it reported to microsoft as suspicious software.

    Once again thank you

  • Satellite Pro A300: Win 7 Upgrade DVD does not list my laptop model

I bought a Satellite Pro A300 that came with Windows Vista pre-installed on it. I was offered a Windows 7 Uprgrade for 30 by Toshiba that I bought and got 2 discs:

    (1) Windows 7 Upgrade disc
    (2) Toshiba Win7 Drivers Upgrade drive

I have updated successfully however the drivers Toshiba disk does not list my model of laptop. I tried to install the drivers on the disk for the OEM software such as drivers of web cam (which are not available online), but they do not work. Also now my DVD player does not open and I can't view the contents of the disc?

Can someone advise who I come into contact with to get a drive for my laptop model?

    Hello

What model of laptop do you have?

Have you tried to choose another model instead of your laptop model?
    Do this!

I read about a similar question here in the forum and the user could solve this choose another laptop model number.

By the way; all Win7 drivers can be downloaded from the page of European driver from Toshiba:

  • Satellite Pro A300 wrong interpret all THE CD/DVD

    Hello

I need help!, I have a Satellite Pro A300 equipped with a multimode GSA - T50N (RT04), DVD player, but it does not work.

The drive appears as DVD RW drive (e :))

If I put a DVD or a CD player will not autorun and will, say something like 0 bytes free 645 MB (for example), when I right click on the drive icon and select Explorer, I get a message "prepare this blank disc.
It doesn't matter what kind of media, I put in or even if its Blanck, formatted, a cd of music etc the size 0 bytes free of 645 (can be anything) is always different, but always appears the message "prepare this blank disc.

How can I solve this that the laptop is totally useless without the player works correctly.

    Scott

    I had the same idea

I recommend first of all remove all the system burning software.
Go to Device Manager, and then remove the drive from CD/DVD to the list of devices. Then start the registry and go to completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After that, restart the device and wait for the CD/DVD drive was recognized again

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE re-start when it is plugged

I've had this laptop stored for awhile that I couldn't work through this problem, but I'll have another chance.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE.
The problem I am haiving, is that the laptop might restart whenever I connect the PSU, but not when you use a live CD (Ubuntu).

Let me try to Flash a BIOS replacement to see if this will fix the problem.
Unfortunately, the necessary software to Flash the BIOS requires the laptop to be plugged.

Is there a way around this problem?
Can I trick the software into thinking it is plugged?
Is there a way I can return/repair of the BIOS in a different way because obviously the problem has always been there.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry mate but I'm afraid I n t m know exactly what the problem is
You said that you can not boot from a Linux Live CD, but you can install a Windows system on this laptop?

Why do you think the BIOS is the problem?
Even if the BIOS is not updated, the laptop should power on correctly and should boot

Can you explain the problem exactly?

  • Satellite Pro A300 - nasal sound if the WIFI is enabled

School, I work has recently bought some A300s, but when they turn them on, all sounds are stuttering.

This is the jingle of Windows startup, the CD and DVD, and programs installed on the computer laptop itself. The only way I can stop the sound problems is by disabling the wireless lan. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, update the driver, replace the driver, but all without success. The school network is wireless so disable the wireless LAN cards long isn't really an option.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Hey xarkaltos,

It would be interesting to know what OS you are using. I have too many Satellite Pro A300 and I can t t notice nasal sound if the WIFI is enabled. My A300 works pretty well and doesn't make strange sounds.

Maybe you have installed another OS, if you restore the OS from Toshiba by using the recovery disc or HARD drive recovery option.
Otherwise, follow the instructions posted by Al - eX.

  • How to restore my Satellite Pro A300?

I had to replace the hard drive on my laptop Satellite Pro A300. Before that, I did a complete backup of computer with Windows complete PC Backup. Now I want to restore all of the backup computer, but I have this problem:
When the computer restarts I press F8 and select Repair my computer, and in the System Recovery Options, I click on the Windows complete PC Restore. Then, the window for the selection of available backups. When I click on the next button, I get the following message:
«To restore your computer, Windows needs to format the drive running Windows recovery environment on.» Start your computer from a Windows or a recovery disc install disc to try again".

I don't have a Windows installation disc. When I start my computer from the key to the rescue disk, and then press F8 in boot option advanced, I don't see you option to fix my computer.

How to restore my computer anyone know?

I don't know what is really happening in your computer, but it is a little difficult to restore without Windows installation disc. On another computer, you can download and install Acronis true image and activate it. Acronis, there is an option, the backup copy of Windows convert to Acronis backup. Convert you. Then, create a rescue bootable Acronis Disk support. Converted Acronis backup, you can place them on dvd disc discs or burn flash usb. Insert, Acronos boot media, navigate to the backup and restore. \

It's a bit difficult to explain everything, but in your case, it is best to get copy of windows and do a clean install

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA: can I use faster and bigger HARD drive?

So this may seem like a stupid question, but if I intend to spend of the installed 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD of the Satellite Pro A300 1EA to a 7200 RPM drive HARD (do not know the ability yet) and I was wondering how to make recovery disks (downgrade from Vista professional and XP Professional) coming with the work of the laptop with the HARD disk that does not part of factory as drives for my understanding restore the system...

The size of the drive HARD replacement has something to do with the thing?
If the replacement HARD drive is also 160 GB system see the difference? And even if it was smaller or larger the system see the difference?

I have not even bought the laptop but will soon and it is a little urgent.

    Computer thanks Fellows ahead! :)

    * Oh... It seems that this question has already been answered... a little research has ever killed forum person huh... but if someone has vital information about the issue... Please let me know! :)*

    Hello

I think that he should t be a problem with an upgrade to a faster and bigger HARD drive.
But before you switch the HARD disk, you must create the Toshiba Recovery DVD using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
After the recovery disk has been created, you can move the hard drives.

    Best regards

  • Satellite Pro A300 - 1 2 - HDD upgrade advice

    Hello

I would really appreciate the help as I'm going round in circles. I have a Satellite Pro A300 - 1 2, and I want to replace the HARD drive and install Windows 7, what is the best HARD drive I can get to the laptop?

Also, what is the maxium of RAM I can install in your laptop.

Any advice would be great machines running lately and I think that the HARD drive has a bad sector in it.

    See you soon,.

    James

Best HARD drive? For that matter I n t I answer. You don't have compatible HARD DRIVE but need to better. According to the specifications of the laptop your drive HARD original was 250 GB SATA HDD.
I have my HDD Samsung A300 inside. Visit your local dealer and buy high quality with 300 or 400 GB SATA 2.5 HARD drive maybe. It will be sufficient, I think. We Toshiba, Samsung or Hitachi HARD drive. Check the price and decision.

RAM upgrade: your laptop can handle with 4 GB of RAM. no more than that. If you have 2 GB inside buy more RAM of 2 GB module. 2 GB compatible RAM has PA3513U-1M2G part number.

    Good bye

    Hello

    Do you mean the adapter?

I advise to use original Toshiba adapter because evil or not compatible adapter can damage the motherboard or would have an impact on the functionality of the laptop.

Check the part number of your old sector and google for this adapter usually some online dealers should provide such part otherwise you can get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country to get compatible part.

The specifications are: DC 19V 6.32 A (part PA3290E-3AC3 number)
