Satellite Pro A300 Wireless resumed after sleep mode problem

OK, so I have this little 'itch' which becomes little boring sometimes. When I take my computer in sleep mode, it takes a good 30-40 seconds my Wi - Fi is reactivated. I mean, that's when my computer wakes from sleep mode and I'm in my browser, I get an internet connection for a good 30-40 seconds. I was wondering if there is some setting I've accidentally changed which makes my laptop to do this? Because I remember my laptop no this when I got it.

Hey,.

I agree with the user above. You should try the update the WLAN driver. Perhaps the current driver isn't working properly so an update should help you get rid of it. More recent and pre-tested WLAN driver that you can download on the official Portal of Toshiba WLAN:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

What operating system you are using?
On Vista and Windows 7, you can disable in the settings of the WLAN energy saving feature Windows power management.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - multiple display after Exchange screen problem

My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro PSPA6A-028017 with Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS

OK, here's the story. I turned on my laptop about a week ago and the screen is blank. I plugged in a monitor external via AVI and tried Fn + F5, but nothing. When the computer reboots, the external screen worked. When I tried to turn on/off displays the external monitor is turned off and I found myself with an empty screen - I was obviously spent on screen of the laptop but working blind, I couldn't work out how to get the external monitor to start again. FN + F5 did nothing.

At that point, I called Toshiba for the support of the warranty (on-site, next business day). They had a technician with new monitor/display on site the next day (after a few calls me to follow up). It has replaced the screen but struggled to lift the screen up and running. He finally managed to logon Windows safe mode and get running but only display on 800 x 600. It has updated the Bios and drivers. He could then up to the 1024 x 768 resolution. Highest and the screen would be left empty.

At that time we plugged in an external monitor via VGA. It worked, but the technician couldn't get the each display to run on each resolution. He left him speechless and he acknowledged that things still are not good. Later, after that the technician had left, I managed to get views working so each to their own resolution. However, I could not always connect the external monitor via DVI (VGA only). I was at least temporarily to work!

The next morning that I turned the laptop on to find that I was back was started. No display on the laptop and on the external monitor only low resolution. It seems that the external monitor is simply cloning which should show the computer screen.

Under the display properties > settings the display shows:
    1. (multiple screens) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
2 Dell G2410 (Analog) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

I know that when everything is working properly, he said not many monitors. The only screen I see is the Dell external monitor. And when I identify the Dell screen is no 1, even if it's not listed number 2.

I don't know anything about the cards video etc, but a theory I have is that adapter is defective and is only show the analog signal. That is why I think that the screen of the laptop and external monitor (connected via DVI) works not done the external monitor connected via VGA (but it seems to be imitating the screen of the computer, allowing only the laptop screens range of resolution). Is that possible?

Someone at - it ideas? The problem is likely to be the video card? I'm puzzled. I'll have to get the technician on the spot back (which will probably still 2 days and several calls, follow-up) and I don't want to lose any time. I have a business to run and I have now lost a weeks work already. If I can offer some strong theories before the technician comes on the spot, sometimes we can get parts ordered in advance.

My warranty expires in a few weeks, so obviously I want this fixed correctly in the shortest time. I don't want to wait 2 days for a technician to come and have to wait another day or two for parts.

    Help, please!

    Thank you
    Ghjghj

It is not easy to offer the correct answer and explanation why this happens here on the forum. In laptop cases should be tested with diagnostic tools to ensure that what is the problem.
OK, exchange of display was a step in the right direction but, of course, this question is more complicated and doesn t happen due to the defective screen only.

I agree with Akuma and also thinking that there must be a hardware problem on the motherboard. Before the expiration of the warranty, you should contact the service again and let check portable equipment.
The fact is, if there is that no book of hardware malfunction should work fine preinstalled with delivered recovery image (Toshiba CD/DVD recovery facilities).

Please, don't wait too long and contact ASAP. They check your laptop. the warranty is still valid and your laptop needs to be repaired.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Can you please tell us which version of Windows 7, you have installed? I mean if you have 32-bit or 64-bit.

Is it just that you use an external mouse?
The touchpad works after sleep mode? If so I think that it s something wrong with the external mouse maybe.

By the way: make sure that you use the latest version of the BIOS. You can find it on the page of Toshiba.

And as for the question of the Oracle, I think you should communicate directly with Oracle support. ;)

This could be resolved by updating the BIOS with the latest version available and by updating the operating system.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA - wireless connection, drop all the time

Hi, I have a problem with my wireless connection fall all the time on my Satellite Pro A300 1EA.

It happened earlier, but I've fiddled about a little with change of drivers and the removal of the connection settings for the registry and it then worked fine for months, until yesterday.

There were several updates for Windows installed yesterday, but none of them have been updated driver for the wireless card, and they don't look like they should cause problems. The fact that the problem happened before makes me think that the updates can be anything to do with it.

I use the * Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 * for Vista 32 - bit version 12.2.0.11.3 drivers from the Toshiba download page.

Other computers on the same access point have no problem, so I think it is specific to this laptop. The connection speed is normally 6 Mbps, but I cannot even check e-mail now without the abandonment of the connection.

Laptop will be thrown against a wall soon if no one can help you.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: I've already made sure power settings are at maximum to the WLAN card, even if on battery, or what power management.

    Hello

Have you tried to use the Windows System Restore feature? After that your WLAN should work fine again.

In addition, I can recommend the latest WLAN driver in the Intel page, it s version 12.4.xxxx. I installed the driver on my Qosmio laptop and don t have any problems with it: [www.intel.com].

  • Satellite Pro A300 sleep and extended functions does not properly

    I have a new satellite Pro A300 PSAJ1E - 01E00VIT, and I find this problem:

Sometimes (not always: maybe it depends on which program is running) in trying to put the computer to sleep or into hibernation, it does not stop, but only stop the monitor (Panel), while the fan goes on and the power light is green. Of course, a lot of energy consumption of battery!

Then there is no other way to take off the computer by pressing the power button for a long time... but this is not correct!
NB: my computer is always connected to a local network, and generally there are some browser windows open when I put it in stand-by mode.

    How can I fix?
    jomurray

You must update the BIOS and must always close the programs and applications that ruin on the laptop before activating the standby mode or hibernation would be.

I found this solution in this forum, and according to some people here it has solved similar problems

    Hello

I think the value of the option SATA AHCI and hence Windows XP mode cannot find the HARD drive.
It's because of the SATA controller.
You can set the SATA AHCI compatible mode mode mode and this will allow you to install Win XP on the laptop without the use of SATA drivers.

So, you have two options if you want to install Win XP:

-> AHCI mode, but you must include the SATA drivers
Compatible mode-> Win XP installation possible without SATA drivers

  • Behavior of cooling after only the BIOS Flash - Satellite Pro A300

    Hello everyone,

I have two laptop computers, Satellite Pro A300 Satellite A300. Both have the same configuration, C2D E8300 2 GB, ATI 3650 512 MB and so on...

Today I flashed BIOS to the latest version (from V3.90 to V4.20) on both of them. Version 3.90 cooling was OK, fan worked only when it was necessary. But now after that flashing the BIOS fan runs constantly, he does not stop.

What I did in Vista under Toshiba Power Saver Power Options, I changed the cooling method of maximum Performance to optimised battery, reverse cooling operation, but coverage (keyboard area) has become a bit warmer.

My question is, what is the problem with cooling in the new version (v4.20)? And how to fix this?
Yet once again, the problem did not exist before flashing the BIOS and the problem is on both computers.

Thank you very much for your help!

    Best regards
    Osman

    > What I did in Vista under Toshiba Power Saver Power Options, I changed the cooling method of maximum Performance to optimised battery, reverse cooling operation, but coverage (keyboard area) has become a bit warmer.

I doubt that there could be something wrong, I want to say that you said that after changing the method in cooling Toshiba Power Saver, the fans don't run all the time
Usually the cooling modules are controlled by energy savings and the BIOS contains only the table fan.

Keyboard of my laptop or on the left side of the laptop becomes too hot because on this side, you find the cooling modules that blow hot air

    Nothing so unusual...

  • Satellite Pro A300 - no Internet to wide band wireless

    Hello

I hope someone can help me. I have a TOSHIBA Satellite Pro A300 and the operating system Windows XP Professional 2002 Service Pack 3.

I've had obviously my machine for a few years now and have never had any problems with it even though I used to always use an ethernet connection. Lately, but I moved to wireless broadband.

When I try to install or update some programs or even just access the internet through them they claim that there is no internet connection. Although Internet Explorer and Windows updates are all still works fine. These programs include Itunes Store, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Log-me-in Vital Source Bookshelf, Adobe/Acrobat Updaters. As you can imagine it is a proplem to access updates and creates a problem with my studies that I use for my class.

I tried other suggestions of forums such as the update of drivers, install all latest updaters for windows. However, I'm still stuck with the same exact problem.

    Can someone help me please?

Maybe it's something wrong with the settings for the s WLAN card Check if you have set the correct TCP/IP parameters for WLAN card. Probably, you need a static IP address but who according to your router.

  • Satellite Pro A300-15 t does not restart on the current after BIOS update

    Hello

There is something wrong with my Satellite Pro A300-15 t. I made an update of the BIOS of toshiba recently with the latest Web site and it installed successfully. But after the installation, I noticed that my laptop does not restart when it is connected to the power adapter. It restarts and works perfectly when its power on the battery.

After restart or start-up the laptop (on battery), it will be well when the adapter is connected.

But, when I reboot when the adapter is connected, after his stop, just power light turns on for a second or two and gets off automatically. And not even the laptop starts manually by pressing the power button (LCD is turned off when the power light comes on for 2 seconds) when the adapter remains connected.

So what I do is to pull the plug on the adapter, then start the computer manually by pressing the power button and reconnect the plug of the adapter to the laptop starts. It works well this way. Rest everything works perfectly.

And this problem started after the update of the BIOS. Now, I don't know how to remedy the situation I don't know if there was a bug in the last update of the bios.

Details of the update from: http://gulf.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp?service=AE
