  Have you checked if the CD/DVD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS?

  Maybe your drive is noisy and you should try another. I put t disc you used but try with Toshiba and Microsoft Windows disk recovery disk.

• Satellite Pro A40 fell on the wireless network card; Damaged PCMCIA slot

  This morning my Satellite Pro A40 (Celeron 2.6) fell 40 cm. He fell right on the wireless network card that has been inserted.   Is your wireless network card equipped laptop? I ask this question because some Satellite Pro A40 models did not have WLAN features so I would be important to know if you have WLAN or not.

  Did you first remove the old driver before you install the new driver? If this is not the case, try to reinstall the driver again. Therefore, to remove the old driver, restart the computer, use CCleaner to clean the registry and install the new version you can find on the Toshiba site.
