Satellite Pro A40 fell on the wireless network card; Damaged PCMCIA slot
This morning my Satellite Pro A40 (Celeron 2.6) fell 40 cm. He fell right on the wireless network card that has been inserted. This card is still alive and so is the rest of the laptop, but the PCMCIA location is little damaged. I can insert PC cards almost completely, just the last piece (when the pins are) wrong.
I removed the cover near the CPU, and there, I could see the inside PCMCIA slot; I could see the main part and the last part where the pins are. That little part as is pushed upward, as you can see in the pictures.
I think I'd be able to fix myself this PCMCIA slot, but I can't remove it. I removed all the screws on the rear plate, but he is still blocked.
Pics:
The PCMCIA location; on the left, you will see the part with the pins, which is pushed upward. It's also what I see when I look at the pins in the PCMCIA slot. as they are pushed down, but I don't think they are folded.
Wireless network card; It is a little damaged but it still works.
Does anyone have an idea how I can remove the back plate, or another way to remove the PCMCIA slot and fix it?
Hi Steve
Well, I can give t well you not answer how you can just remove the PCMCIA slot.
There are a lot of screws and to my knowledge, it is necessary to remove all covers and screws that are placed at the bottom of the unit and inside under the keyboard.
Please check this specific device. Perhaps you have overlooked a few screws.
But if it is impossible to remove the PCMCIA slot of the unit, I recommend to ask the service partner for a detailed instruction.
Good luck
Good bye

I think that it shouldn't be a problem to upgrade the WLan card.
As far as I know its a card wireless network of miiPCI and you would need to also use a WLan card which would support the miniPCI interface. The wireless network card supports two pins for the WLan antenna cable.
Usually, you must connect a white cable to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltageAll that s

When I go into the Device Manager there is NO controller network displayed in the list and there is a yellow exclamation mark against two controllers ethernet ib the OTHER DEVICES tab looking here, I downloaded the atheros wlan xp file - 7704062.zip, broadcom wlan xp - installed 5604835.ziplan20070912134727.zip and nothing changes, we used to be able to go on the net and with the wifi card in the pci slot wireless go so I know its capable I think it's just the order of drivers and the drivers themselves,
Then someone can point me in the right direction before as I have send myself crazy with this...

Hey,.
The drivers that you downloaded are WLAN Card and has nothing to do with the connection to the local network (Ethernet) normal
I think you should check the Web from Toshiba site to download the latest LAN driver. You can find the drivers for Satellite Pro A40 in * archives *.

ProBook 4520 s - exchange of the wireless network card
Hello everyone.
I think the exchange of the wireless network card in my Probook 4520 s, due to the low flow.
So I searched for a while a 5 Ghz supporting the card and found out that I am only able to get in the "white" cards list working. Then I looked at this page:These cards can be any, that have been used in 4520 s. Mine (according to the Device Manager) is the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n. This thing only supports 2.4 Ghz. Now, I looked at the list for a 5 Ghz supporting the card. I think that the 802.11A/B/G/N WLAN Intel HMC 572520-001 minicards can operate on 5 Ghz, because I read, that A appears only with maps of 2.4/5 Ghz. I read too, that maps of 2.4 / 5 GHz have 3 antennas, but on this card I only the slots for 2. Is this good? And this card would go into my 4520 s?
Greetings,
Colony
Hi, colony:
You are right about your statement about the cards being described as A/B/G/N dual-band.
The best thing to do is look at Chapter 3 of your service manual.
You can only order one of the cards listed as supported and it MUST have the HP reference on it or it won't work.
I see only two possibilities for you...
The 6200 Intel and Broadcom 4322. Make sure you also get the part # that corresponds to what country you live.
If your current Broadcom card has integrated Bluetooth, you will lose your Bluetooth capability if you order an integrated HP bluetooth module and probably the cable too.
None of the dual-band cards have embedded bluetooth.
Link to the service manual.
http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02439213/c02439213.PDF
Then, you can order a card on the link below.
If you do not live in the United States, you can change your country at the top of the page to yours.

Satellite Pro U400 (XP pro) cannot connect to the wireless network
I got a U400 straight out of the box. I installed XP pro through the disc of recovery without any problem, except that I am not able to connect to the Wi-Fi here. (Other devices connect very well so the problem is at the end of the laptop) I tried to update via windows update (SP3) via a wired LAN connection but still the same problem. Other posts here have any suggestions for downloading new drivers from realtek. All of the solutions presented do not work for me. Anything else I can try?
I am able to see all the wireless networks that are available in the range and may try to connect (provide the WPA password) but after watching the "preparation to connect" screen for a while he seems to abandon without reporting any error
Hi guys
First check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS.
Second, clear all options of the router WLan security (filtering by MAC address, Firewall, encryption of WLan, etc.) and try to establish the WiFi connection. If you're going to succeed the problem is certainly related to the encryption settings
Step by step, activate the settings and set up the router again.Good luck

KramerHey Kramer,
Are you sure that you have installed the right driver WLAN? As far as I know that Toshiba laptops are delivered with various wireless network cards. The Toshiba page also shows Atheros WLAN drivers then perhaps you have an Atheros card?
In addition I would try reinstalling Windows using Toshiba recovery disc. There are all the drivers and tools pre-installed.

Any help much appreciated.
Hello
I guess that you upgraded the wireless lan card later, didn t you? I know that 11 + 13 pins hint and it worked, but after awhile the card did not and the connection quality was so poor that I bought a card atheros on ebay and this card works really well. So I suggest that you are looking for a card atheros on ebay and to install such card in your system since the cards are known to work properly in the toshiba machines.
My configuration: Tecra 9100 with P4M and Atheros 5005 G MiniPCI card

New printer installation, wireless connection to the wireless internet router. Test results of the wireless network said successful wireless wireless wireless printer installation works, connected, SSID found, the printer settings compatible with the configuration of the wireless router. Network status says HP Network Configuration page is ready, Active connection Type is wireless, 802.11 Wireless status is connected.
I can send HPeprint to the computer through the router, and it comes back through the router to the printer when it prints. But I can't print directly from the computer to the printer, even if the two seem to be connected to the network via the same router. I'm puzzled.
When I press the icon on the screen of the printer wireless, it says connected, IP: 192.168.1.105 (I put manually after having read several problem Q & as), with the correct network name and MAC, with a strong signal. When I click on "I can see that the status is logged on and the intensity of the signal" and then enter the IP 192.168.1.105 and then click Next, the search for a printer "Can't find printer" product and I'm back where I started. Satellite M45-S265 - cannot install the wireless network
Hi all!
My laptop has had a big problem and HARD drive crashed. Unfortunately I lost all the data with no chance to recover anything. I installed a new HARD drive. I installed Win XP - SP3.
But I'm unable to install the wireless network. I continue to pass the button in front of the laptop - nothing. I type the combination Fn + F8 - nothing. I think that I have not installed the driver corectly.
P.S. - of course, I lost the CD.
Can someone help me?
Thank you.

Then you need to (re) install the WLAN driver. Otherwise, you are not able to use the WLAN connection correctly.Anyway, your model is listed on official Toshiba US page so that you can get all the drivers:

What the BIOS has been installed on your laptop?
If you use the Toshiba BIOS so there could be an option called configuration of the device.
(it s is available on my Satellite)You change the option for all devices, you will be able to change the PC Card controller mode. I think you should play a little with this option.
In other cases, the user was able to resolve a similar issue by changing this option. Please report if you re successful because it would be very interesting for me.
Good bye
