Tried the drivers on Matsu * a Panasonic site - that refer you to the OEM Toshiba.

Cannot find drivers anywhere on the Toshiba site or the forum search.

Grateful for any help.

This;

Remove the drive from the Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop.
Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Restart again

Good bye

OK, I have a Satellite Pro A10, recently it is just stopped reading discs completely! Ive got no idea what wrong with and do not know if you need to replace? I prefer not too.

If anyone has any advice on repairing it I would appreciate it. If not if anyone knows if there any compatible DVD readers writing? also the best place to buy?

    Help, please!

    Hello

This does not sound well :( I think it could be a hardware problem maybe something wrong with the lens of the drive
Anyway, usually it of not possible to fix these issues or it s not worth repairing, because the costs are too high
Thus, it seems that you need to replace. But be careful. Not all readers are compatible because different master/slave/c-salt settings.
I would recommend so contact the ASP in your country to get a compatible drive.

    But please try this proposal;
Sometimes, the Player cannot read the Middle due to the incorrect registry key.
Remove the upper and lower filter filter in this key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

and restart the laptop. Maybe it helps

  • Satellite Pro 2100: DVD - ROM not detected - need drivers

    Hello
My DVD ROM disappeared also from 'my computer' and in the Device Manager.
Where can I get a driver for the standard DVD ROM?
Computer does not see the disk, how ' do it see the player "so that I can install the driver?

    All the words of wisdom?

    Hey riri,.

Check in Device Manager to see if your DVD-ROM is listed and if so was it an exclamation mark against it? If it is, then simply remove it from your system and restart. Windows will identify as a new device and install with the correct driver.

It is also possible that the drive may have 'disappeared' If you have recently removed any software DVD. It is a known issue and a solution is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: -.

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
    It is showing drivers cdrom.sys.

How can I find new drivers for UJ-850 s?

    Hello

First of all: you can not download the driver for the CD/DVD drive. The Windows operating system uses the own driver and it s not necessary to install a special driver for ODD.
Therefore, the link provided by the user above won't HELP YOU NOT.

Second: I studied in this forum a bit because many afterwards with the same problems, where already posted:
    Check this example:

You will find a link to the MS site that provides a nice solution.

  • Satellite Pro A60 does not recognize DVD-R blank disc

    Can anyone help?

I've tried several brands of DVD - R, but also blank discs DVD + R on my Satellite Pro A60, but very few of them are even recognized.

    Hello

What exactly do you mean? Is the drive does not support content or there is problem if you want to burn data on DVD-R media?

Can you please explain this a little more carefully?

Just FYI: I use the empty media TDK almost 5 years and I can say that TDK is very good for this kind of things.

  • Satellite Pro A60 - CD/DVD works intermittently

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A60, which is two years old. Recently, for some reason, the CD/DVD drive now only plays discs intermittently. I have to insert it several times before it will play. Some play at all.

I used a disc cleaner lens several times, but it seems that to help on the occasion of the strange - that is to say, a drive can be started immediately after I used the lens cleaner, but this could just be a coincidence.

I wonder if I need to replace the drive and, if so, how much that would be easy. The computer is out of warranty.

Thanks a lot for all the helpful tips.

    Ron

    Hey Buddy

It really looks like a hardware malfunction. Probably the lens of the drive can not calibrate correctly due to mechanical stress for a long time.
Unfortunately, this anomaly cannot be repaired. The only solution seems to be a replacement of equipment (by car).

Disc replacement is a little tricky. You know. Not all readers are compatible because of the different master\slave\c-salt settings. With the help of the player is not compatible, you will get #1 error IDE.

That's why I really recommend contacting ASP in your country and ask the compatible CD/DVD players for your laptop.

    Bye and good luck

  • Question about the use of the Satellite Pro A60 fan

    Hello

I intend to get a Satellite Pro A60 and I was wondering how much the fan turns on.

Could someone comment if the fan turns on when the machine is totally inactive, and how he lights up when the machine is used for word processing and surfing the web?

For example, when using normally does the fan turn on 1/10th of the time, or 1/2 time etc.?

    Thanks in advance,
    Pete.

    Hello

Sorry I can't give you specific information about the cooling fan. A60 is known to me. It's a very nice laptop. Cooling vent is in reverse I am a pretty that there is no background noise.

If you make the decision to buy it, look at what the capacity of the HARD drive is too high and that the DVD-ROM can burn a lot of different formats (DVD Super Multi drive).

Have lots of fun with it.

  • Satellite Pro A60: Upgrade CPU Questions

I took my laptop apart before, and I remember that I was able to remove the CPU.
My A60 is the lower part of the range as far as I KNOW, 2.8 ghz Celeron, 40GB HDD and DVD-ROM/CD-RW. I've since added 512 MB of RAM and a LiteOn DVD +-RW drive.
What type of CPU would be a direct exchange?
I was looking at my manual, A60 were sold with P4 3.06 GHz.

I would be able to put in a 533FSB, 3.06 GHz in my laptop?

    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I know the Satellite Pro A60 was delivered with these processors:
    Mobile-Intel-Pentium 4 processor - HT 518 (2.8 G), 532 (3.06 G) CPU, CPU 538 (3.2 G)
    Intel-Celeron CPU CPU CPU CPU 350 (3.2 G) 345(3.066G) 340(2.93G) 335(2.8G)

So in this case, I think that you can only use these processors

  • Satellite Pro A60-138 PSA65E - cannot boot from c WEIRD

    Hello
I bought this laptop on ebay, with no cd or manual.

    Satellite Pro A60 GR
    MODEL PSA65E-01K032GR NUMBER

    Hard drive is formatted.
I tried to install xp, because I start the laptop it just says: "control system.
Then press [F1]. "If I press F1, it tries to read the cd and gives up after a few seconds.

If there is no cd in the cd drive there simply nothing.
I tried to start the bios menu but everything works,(F12,F8,del) key.

Is there something I can do?
installing drivers or anything like that?

    Hello

In order to access the BIOS please press F2, then ESC.
This should load the BIOS and you can change the boot order there.

In addition, you can press F12 at the beginning.
This will allow the menu on the screen where you can choose the STRANGE as a source of start-up.

But are you able to boot from another CD?
The CD/DVD drive is unable to read the disc, and therefore the boot process fails

You could also burn this disc Win XP on another CD and could use the new disk to the start I did with my old laptop because the CD/DVD drive didn't read the old CD.

    I have a Satellite Pro A60 P4 532, with the following:

I want to add memory (256 MB).
On the web site of Toshiba, they lead me to the PA3127U - 1 M 25 (DDR PC2100), but I see that for almost similar laptops they offer the PA3311U - 1 M 25 (PC2700 DDR)

    * 256 MB DDR PC2100 (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
    -P4 532 (3.06 GHz) / XP Pro/256 MB/40 GB/15TFT/DVD-CDRW/LAN/WiFi

    Can I take the PC2700?
Not for the best performance, but it is cheaper!

In addition, it is the same problem with 512 MB...

    Yes, you can take PA3311U - 1 M 25 (PC2700 DDR).

  • Satellite Pro A60 abandoned. Why?

    Hello

Can someone tell me why this model is discontinued?

    Satellite Pro A60 - 832:P4 3.2 GHz / XP Pro / TFT 15 "/ 512 MB / 60 GB / DVD-R-RW / LAN"

    No particular reason?

    Hello

On the reasons for this, we can only guess. I think Toshiba try to be better this business competition. It is just possible trough permanent new products with a hardware configuration different, always new and attractive design.

In my view, attractive and modern laptops design is very important.
What do you think of this?

  • Cannot start WXP installed on my Satellite Pro A60

    Hello

I just got a Satellite Pro A60 of second hand. He had installed xp pro, but I did have no password. , so I formatted the drive and made two partitions. There are 30 GB and the other approximately 7 GB.

I tried to install a WXP Pro copy that has worked for me before, but he would not complete the installation. Now, I have a Toshiba Recovery disk. When I use the recovery CD, the installation goes fine, but when its full and restarts, the laptop does not start in Windows.

He comes to Toshiba screen twice then WXP logo appears for a moment about 10 seconds or more, then go back to the f8 screen. Last time, he said it could be due to a hardware change with these lists of 'safe mode' options, safe mode with command prompt mode implementation network, security, last known good configuration. I tried all the but still cannot boot into windows.

The hard drive has the files I used l-soft active@killdisk unerasor tools, change password and partition Viewer, I could see the file system of windows etc. Laptop has 512 MB RAM, 40 GB drive HARD, Celeron.

I just updated the bios to V1.90 by CD-ROM. Please can someone help me?
    Thank you

    Hello

You have installed the operating system from the recovery CD Toshiba but have you used the original Toshiba comes with this laptop recovery CD?

The BSOD appears mainly due to hardware failure or the software flaw serious
The Toshiba Recovery CD contains all the drivers needed and tools, but if you use a recovery CD badly the pre-installed drivers can cause the error and BSOD could appears.

However if some hardware like the memory module or the graphics card is damaged the BSOD are included also.

    Hello

I think the disk replacement procedure is very similar to replacements on other laptops.
To remove the STRANGE bay module follow these steps:

    1. turn the computer.
    2. remove the black binding screws.
3 turn the computer over and open the display.
    4. push the module bay ODD.

All that s. It s not achieved with a screw.
