Satellite Pro A60 PSA65E black screen when you wake up from stand-by

Hello

I have a laptop computer (PSA65E) A60 and I am really slow recently so I decided to reinstall windows XP.

I didn't have the CD that came with the laptop, so I don't know if it was an installation CD or recovery CD.

But I installed WinXP home with SP3 slipstreamed in him with a folder for all the drivers. I installed without any problem and installed the drivers for the wifi, display etc.
And yes it has been activated via windows until someone asks.

In any case when I closed the lid and exploited later I couldn't have the laptop to wake up.

Well it is but with a white screen, the fans start up and I get all the flashing lights on the front, but no display. I had the mouse pointer once but nothing else.

I read a lot of forum posts here on all sorts of ways to fix, but I can't get an any of them to work. Tried to get new drivers, got all of the updates from windows update and the bios is the most recent.

Any ideas on what is happening here, because it is really annoying me.

Thank you Will

Hello

To be clear. The notebooks are actually not SP3 supported and if you want to have good work use OS support Windows XP SP2 home edition.

I know what you're probably thinking now but all offered tools and utilities are obviously not designed and tested with SP3.
It is a pity that you n t have Toshiba recovery CD. With the original recovery image, it should work correctly.
Usually these problems are solved with the updates to the BIOS, but if you have a last I really t know what you can try to fix it.

As you can see it is very often problematic to use latest updates on older models of laptop.

  • Satellite Pro A60: Blue error screen

I got my satellite pro A60 laptop for about 6 months and, recently, a blue screen started flashing up to white writing scrolling down really fast and then the laptop restarts. I don't have the time to read what says the writing of this article. Can someone give me advice on what this could be and how to solve the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Well, the simple is to reinstall the operating system. But if you wish, you can disable the function of Windows Xp to automatically read this massage of error on reboot.
Go to system in Control Panel. Then the Advanced tab. In the announcement of the Startup Recovery section press set button. You need to disable the option automatically reboot.
But it of very difficult to understand the error blue screen for ordinary users.

    Good bye

    Hello

When I try to play games e.g. need for the pursuit of speed appears a black screen, I do not understand why. I have Intel Core i3 HD and I can not play games on my laptop.

    I expect an answer please

    Hi p0wer.

I checked the specifications of your laptop on the Web from Toshiba site and it has the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD graphics card.

As you know he s not the one that is suitable for the games.

Did you check if the card is supported in your games and is it powerful enough?

  • Satellite Pro L300 - cursor black screen flashing

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro L300 Vista.

The customer earned him in because when it starts it goes to home Toshiba screen then goes to a black screen with cursor flashing at the top left. I connected external monitor with the same result. Swapped RAM as well.

Have run Memtest (spent), Seagate HDD long test (past), Ultimate boot CD and Winternals without success.
    * F8 does not work * and no more than the resumption of the plant.

Can enter the BIOS F2 and F12 no problems and the HARD drive is listed.

I reinstalled Vista on CD and on reboot it goes back to blinking cursor. I tried booting from the Vista CD repair and system restore. FixBoot commands and FixMbr prompt as well as with the same result.
I feel that it may be a corrupt CMOS sensor? It's like the OS installs correctly, but the computer loses his memory on reboot where the operating system?

Is the battery CMOS easily accessible and removable on this model?

Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Is - fixable at lower cost?

    Hello

If you have clients, I guess you're a technician and hope you have a few pieces of equipment in your store.
Have you tried to set the BIOS to default settings and check again?
If possible try to exchange the HARD drive and test the functionality again.
You can use laptop with Linux live CD (HARD drive not required)?

To be honest that I think n problem t is ORGANIC and, in my opinion, the exchange of the CMOS battery is not necessary.

Please test it with the new HARD drive and post comments.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - LCD black screen - Fine on external monitor - fine

Hi, I have a headache with a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 mojor. The screen began to move to the blackout at random times and happens more and more. It is not serious if W
Jayindows has loaded or if I enter the bios, boot from the CD or leave it sitting waiting for me to select a boot device. More often than otherwise, it becomes black, but you can still see what needs to be on the screen, it is simply not at all turned to see clearly. The laptop itself still works very well because it works on an external monitor and makes the system beeps, cd turns etc.
    Have you tried the following:
Setting of various parameters in the graphics properties and in the bios but makes no difference.
It also becomes active again if I press FN + F5 to swap monitors but turns off after a few seconds.
It is not overheating as it's been all night and still sometimes happens when starting Cold Stone.
I tried to start with / without battery - no difference.
I tried to start without the disk HARD - no difference.
I tried to remove the battery by pressing power for 60 seconds, then add the battery and new starter - no difference in power.
I could have sworn it is the inverter, but it does the same thing with an inverter I know works! do not think that it may be graphic because it works on an external monitor and turn off.
I'm out of ideas and looking for a genius to fix it for me please!
    See you soon

    Hey Buddy,

    > It turns on but not at all to see clear
This would mean that the FL inverter is faulty the FL inverter of the internal LCD display controls the backlight of the screen and if the isn t working FL inverter you can see a picture, but very very dark.

It would be a logical explanation for your problem, because there must be something wrong with the laptop LCD if an external monitor is working properly. Also if it happens in the BIOS the problem is not software.

In your case I contact an authorized service provider and ask the guys for help. They can check your laptop and this should be done. Here, we can only speculate and discuss the different possibilities because it s just a user forum. EPA has professional diagnostic tools and can order all Toshiba spare parts.

    Good luck! :)

  • Why Satellite Pro A300 does not start when you press the power button?

Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button. The situation is the following: when I press the power button is displayed the opening of Toshiba (Leading Innovation) and the disappers image quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. There is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation under. And nothing happens however long wait.

In order to get with the trial starting I then shut down the computer by pressing the power button until the computer turns off. ("The hard way to close")
Now, I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then, the computer starts normally with the photo to open Toshiba and after a few seconds, I wonder to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.

What should I do to get a normal departure procedure?

When the laptop starts normally (after choosing normal mode) stop your laptop properly using START > shut down option. Next launch should be normal.

When the OS is moving towards the low irregularly will always ask you how to start this new (secure or normal mode).
The same thing happen on my Satellite A300.

  • Black screen when you try to play a video rental

HI all, I rented a movie from iTunes and I got everything updated iTunes and OsX but whenever I'm trying to play the screen is all black and the movie will not play. I can see screen grab when I go to the chapters, but could not get anything to play. I tried for authorizing and reauthorizing my computer - I have a MacBook Air 11 '' end 2013.

abyone else has this problem and have you found a solution for this?

Same question.  I recently bought a new MacBook Pro & today is the first time I tried to watch a movie in iTunes.  Purchased or rented movies will play.  I, too, only have a black screen with only the controls (rewind, pause, reading, etc) visible.  No chapters listed, just the cover of the movie at the top + names of administrators.  Was on the phone with Apple Care for 2 hours and they could not understand.

When the Senior Adviser, I was speaking with iTunes contacted for credit, told him they were aware of the problem and working on it.  He said that there is a problem with some Macs, but not other Apple devices.

Strange that iTunes would have not contacted Apple Care technical support to let them know about the issue.  Also, before I spoke with the Chief Adviser, I was talking with someone else to Apple Care, who had also made contact with iTunes to try to resolve the problem by return the video rental for me and it has not been said on the issue.

It was about 3 hours ago.

Advise senior said that she would send me a mail with my # case and contact information so I could follow, but she didn't.  She took my phone #, so if all goes well, she will call to let me know when the problem is solved (not holding my breath however).

  • Satellite Pro A300-28V - black screen boot failure

My three days old Satellite Pro A300 began yesterday to hang at startup in Vista. I rebooted twice with good result, but now I see only the home Toshiba screen, then it goes black with a cursor top left. I won't answer on /F12/ F8 F2 or the recovery of the DVD. Indicator LED disc is black, fan-only sound. I have connected not no matter what external monitor ever on this one.

At the moment so it's Sunday I chose the battery and will try again in an hour or two, otherwise I contact seller tomorrow. Any ideas what's happening? BIOS crash, hard drive (after three days)?

    Hello

Does this mean that you can t access the BIOS too?

If it s, then it seems to be a hardware problem. Therefore, the service provider authorized in your country. They can help you to repair the laptop.

    Toshiba Satellite Pro A60BT
    Model No.: PSA65E-01K02EBT
    Intel P4 532 3.06 Ghz

    Hello

    Your guess might be good.
Either there is something wrong with the GPU (graphics chip) chip or the computer laptop faulty display.

This can be checked easily. You must connect to the laptop for external monitor and should test the output of the screen.

If the same lines will appear on the second monitor and then the graphics card should be responsible for this issue. Otherwise, the internal LCD laptop could be faulty.

In both cases, the service provider authorized in your country should be contacted.

Good luck and have a great week ;)

  • Satellite Pro L770 - intermittent black screen

I had some problems in the last few weeks with my L770 Pro Satellite.

Occasionally, the screen is blank, it comes and goes without apparent cause, it can sometimes be empty for an hour, sometimes more, sometimes much shorter.
There is a display when I connect to a TV via HDMI.

The screen of the computer itself can go motionless on a desk, as well as come back when it has not been moved.
As far as I know that some drivers have been updated.

From there, I can only assume that there is a bad connection?

    Hello

The display turns OFF when using Notepad or while staying away from the laptop?

Please check the option called choose when turning off the display
It is found on Panel-> power-> left column Options

Here you can set the time when the display would be sounded.
I would recommend settings this forever in order to test the functionality

  • Black screen when you try to start PowerPC G3 beige

I have a vintage tour 1997 beige PowerPC with OS 9 (don't know which version, I think that the last of them he would go - 9.2.2?).  It has been sitting in the corner, turned off but plugged in for years (on a UPS protected against overvoltages with newer computer).  It was probably 2-3 years since the last power successful upward to retrieve something from him.  I am wanting to get data out of an old program on it, but can't get any view of it, just a black screen.

Here's what I know about the material:

    Label says PowerPC G3 233 MHz, 512 K Cache, 32 MB / 4 G HD/24 x CD / 56K Modem, 17/02/98

The memory may have been renovated years ago, there are 3 SIMMS inside.

I use the video port built, with an adapter for the Apple Display Connector to VGA adapter which worked very well all the years I've used the computer.

When I turn on, it is what is happening:

    I get the normal "chime".

The monitor it is connected to the wake mode 'sleep'

The display goes completely black - (no happy Mac, sad Mac or any Mac or gray screen)

The monitor will never return "standby mode" until I have shut down the Mac (at least for 10-15 minutes I leave at the same time).  This makes me think that the port video is send something to the screen.

    • Here's what I've tried so far:
    • Tried 2 different monitors and cables, which has occurred on other computers (relatively modern flat screen LCD)
    • Replace the onboard battery
    • Zap the P - RAM
    • Reset the NVRAM by starting command-option-O-f and strike blindly
      • Reset-nvram (press enter/return)
      • Reset-all (News-enter/return) - at what point he restarted then assume that it took orders
    • Started with the space bar to see if the extensions manager would come to the top
    • Sitting SIMM memory (I remember when a memory SIMM went wrong after years, I'm a his 'breaking glass' at the start so I think the memory is OK?)

The only things I can think to try are changing the ADC to VGA and put in a PCI video card.  Wikipedia lists a couple that were popular with this vintage Mac: ATI Radeon 7000 and 9200.  These will work without having to install drivers? It seems that http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Technologies-Radeon-7000-Graphics/dp/B0000630TB can be had pretty cheap, I don't know about the drivers.

I have not tried booting from a cΘdΘrom, especially because I was not able to locate them.  I could watch more difficult if it is reasonable to expect a different result, but that seems to be a more fundamental question.  If there are any people with ideas vintage Mac, it would be greatly appreciated!

The Amazon link you posted is for the PC of ATI Radeon 7000 version.  You need the Mac or PC version which took his chip EEPROM reprogramming with the Mac code.  Fifteen years ago, I bought eight of the sale to the retail-boxing, PC version Radeon 7000 s and flashed the ROM, for use in my beige G3s.  It took OS 9.2.2 support the latest drivers that allowed a 2D acceleration.  The Radeon 9200 Mac Edition is the final PCI graphics card that they marketed for Macs and would cost more and be more graphics card that you need, just to retrieve files from the G3.  You may be able to find a cheap, compatible Mac Radeon 7000 on ebay.  In fact, the older (Mac compatible) ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics of a B & W G3 (shown here) would be well suited to your needs.  When you zapped the PRAM, how many times have you let it go through the reboot cycle, while now pressed the keys "command + Option + P + R?  I usually gave it three.  You could try to remove the sound card 'personality' clean oxidation on the pins plated gold with a soft, white gum and reinstall.  This would be the case for modules of memory DIMMS and ROM card, which can also become oxidized over time.  If the Mac to VGA DB-15 you have a set of microswitches adjustable, the parameters of the (resolution) may be different for newer LCDs you've tried, especially if they have an image format widescreen.  "You can also consult the"failures of start-up list' on this page speed up your Mac G3 box. " "There was a problem with the first batch of voltage regulators used in the beige G3s, but I think they were passed to the VRM Raytheon in February 1998.  If "Raytheon" is printed on your VRM, you can probably exclude the problem.
