Satellite Pro C50 keyboard problems - A - 1 L 6

Hello

I just bought this new Satellite Pro.

I have installed all the drivers and updated the bios to the latest version, but I still have the same problem: when I write, many times my keyboard writes double letters (for example, all ten words written keyboard a letter double, as "keybboard").

I tried also to change the properties of the keypad on the control panel of Windows 8, but nothing has changed.

I called support, but they just told me that I have to bring my laptop in a helpdesk: but I need my new computer to work, and I wouldn't be happy to lose at least 4 weeks!

And, support told me that, if the laptop has no hardware problem, I would have to pay for assistance...
.
So, this is my first experience and unlucy in the world of Toshiba...
Is there someone who can give me some advice to solve this problem?
It may be a problem running on the new laptops, and someone knows how to fix this?

Thank you very much!

Hi guys,.

As far as I know that these similar keyboard problems in the past could be resolved by the BIOS updated.
I found the new BIOS for Satellite Pro C50 - A
http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/BIOS-20140912105436.zip
Worth a try

Another question: If someone has done to test a USB external keyboard?
In the case where the external USB keyboard would work correctly, this issue isn't associated with BIOS or keyboard controller but probably his keyboard fault internal.

This issue is one for computer laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1UX running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

Some of the keys on Board (E, T, U, I, O, A, B, N, and the Enter key) fail to register.
All keys tested so far seem to register normally.

When you connect an external USB keyboard, all the keys work properly. When you use the integrated keyboard or external USB keyboard, however, pressed some key is selected for about 2-3 seconds so that his character register. This makes typing incredibly slow and is naturally unacceptable.

I checked the Manager of devices looking for errors, but can't find one. The keyboard driver is classified properly installed and functional, and driver update indicates that the latest version is in already in service.

I've also scanned for viruses using Spybot and Malware bytes and also with laptops own antivirus software pre-installed. All the analyses of the entire system refer a none found the message of threat.

I read that the keyboards on these machines can sometimes be problematic, which could respond only to edge, some function keys. The fact that all the external USB keyboard keys work seems to confirm this. However, the fact that the keyboard both onboard and external is affected by the same slow pressure might also suggest a bios problem - but that this laptop computer is several years old and working perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

I visited the Toshiba site and based on this laptop with the part number: PSC0ME-02100SEN, I have concluded (rightly or wrongly) that the correct bios download version is 1, 70 - WIN, only when I read the following installation instructions http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm bios
I became quite concerned, like installing the bios update seems far from simple.

Does anyone know if it is possible to download and install the bios right through an update automated versus manual download and installation step by step, which, if not carried out as planned, could make the laptop completely unusable.

Has anyone reading this post experienced similar problems with this make and model laptop and was able to return successfully to the good operating condition. If so, how?

All constructive advice would be welcome.

    > When you connect an external USB keyboard, all keys work correctly.

This means that the keyboard controller is OK and the internal keyboard is defective.
To resolve this problem of keyboard, internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

    > However, the fact that the keyboard on board as external is affected by the same keypress slow could also suggest a bios problem - but this laptop computer is several years old and works perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

    Hmm I n t think so
The keyboard delay can be bound to parameters.
You can check this in the control panel-> keyboard

    Hello

When I type in MS Word or another application, certain characters are not displayed. This problem is known.
I followed the recommendation of the TOSHIBA BIOS V1.30 for PSL25E update. Unfortunatey, it does not help.

    Hi Olbur

I didn't find any official document on this subject, as you say, known issue. Can you please send a link?

I have the Satellite L20 and there is not much difference for Satellite Pro L20 and I have no such problems, but I'm interesting about this. The L20 keyboard is not the best one, but all the characters are not displayed correctly. Maybe you type fast. ;)

    Hi all

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300.
The original keyboard started acting fuynny after, in my opinion, it was abandoned.
He began to record two characters on 1 button on a few letters and the '1' key was also acting as the tab key.

I decided to change the keyboard for a brand new, but nothing helps...
I'm a bit stuck now to know where to start troubleshooting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you
    Dave

    > The original keyboard started acting funny after that, in my view, it was abandoned.
If the laptop has been abandoned or not?
I think it's very important to know if the laptop has been abandoned or not because the other pieces of equipment that are likely to be affected.
I mean it would be possible that this keyboard or motherboard controller is affected due to the fall of the laptop.

I put t think that someone here might be able to help you if the laptop was dropped, then you should ask a technician for a verification of the material may be there is a party who is affected and must be replaced, but material must be checked to know

  • Satellite Pro C50 - A - screen Black/Brown problem

    Hi all

I want to share one problem that I have with my cell phone, just to see if anyone of you already experience or maybe you know some options how to solve this problem.

I bought a Satellite Pro C50 - A model in January 2014, with 8.1 Windows preinstalled. A few weeks ago, I lived for the first time the question.

Work with the laptop, the screen turns off suddenly. The laptop still works, that I've already connected to another screen and keyboard and the mouse works, everything. Even if you focus a little bit on the screen of the laptop, you can see the shape of what I'm doing, but very very dark, almost extinct.

First time it happened, I was able to fix after a few attempts, unplug the laptop DC and taking the battery, then pressing the power button / stop for 30 seconds. I had to do this several times, and then it started working.

The issue seems to be fixed, but yesterday it happened again, with the bad luck that do the same process is not enough... He worked for 1 min and then it turned off again...

I don't know what I can do, as last option I would like to reset to factory settings, but it's something I want to jump.

    * Are there known error, malware or fault in laptops that could help me? *

I thank very you much in advance!

To be honest I have don recovery think t install image will help you.

I put t have this bad experience on my Toshiba machines but I sure it's material m unwanted and cannot imagine that recovery clean installation will change anything.

In the past, some people have reported on similar problems, and the reason was bad FL inverter.
The warranty is still valid, so I think that you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Problems of helmet speakers on dualboot Satellite Pro C50-A-1KV

    Hi all.

I have a serious problem with Toshiba Satellite Pro C50-A-1KV. I have win7 x 64 and Ubuntu 14.04 x 64 on this machine. It was first installed Win7 and later Ubuntu 14.04.

I tried to use the headset while I was logged on ubuntu and there is no sound, the sound was cut out of the speakers but headphones did not work, when I plugged it out I still have the sound on the speakers.

After reboot I had no sound at all on ubuntu, and when I go to windows, the problem worsen for windows also. Right now it seems like some time the sound is on the speakers, but headset is dead, some time ago his headphones and speakers.

I have no idea what is the cause of the problem. The win7 and ubuntu have been kept clean, only the updates have been downloaded. I think that the driver has some problems, but how could I make it work. To test, I tried to use Skype and there was a situation where I have the sound on the speakers and headphones, but then the microphone was death-_-'.

I have a few pieces of it and the exact problem is on half of them. I have 2 deliveries.
The first onewas ok, everything works. Either everyone has this problem :/

I tried to make a backup on model where it is working and windows backup restore and install new ubuntu but it did not work.

Any suggestions what may cause the problem or how to fix?

I think you should first clarify whether your headset is OK.

My theory is that your helmet could be faulty (maybe a broken cable or something like that) and that's why speakers and headphones will not work when the headset is plugged into the laptop.

Laptop computer's headphones Jack supports a small switch that allows you to disable the speakers while the headphones are connected.

If in case the headset is faulty, the speakers and the headphones would not work.
So I think you should check the helmet first.

If you are sure that the earphones are OK, then I think there could be a problem with the little switch in the headphone jack.
Why? Because I can't imagine that this could be a software / driver problem because the same question is displayed using Linux as well as Windows System.

The two systems are completely different and that a software / driver problem in both cases, it's almost unbelievable.

However, I still recommend setting the laptop configuration using the procedure of recovery Toshiba in order to check if the noise problem using Toshiba preistalled system configuration and factory

  • Satellite Pro C50-A-1E2: problem get into BIOS after the activation of the quick start

    Hello

    I own Satellite Pro C50-A-1E2.

Default hard drive has been replaced by a v300 kingston ssd. I also enabled quick start.
I am trying to get into the BIOS but without success.

I tried all possible combinations (Esc, DEL, f1, f2, f8, fn + esc, f1... fn)

I found this piece of information through Googling: "press f2, and then press power. But always without success.
    Help with my problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Quick start can be enabled and disabled too using the Toshiba software called Desktop Help. Within this tool, you would find the HWSetup Toshiba and this part of software must contain the quick start option.

    Check it out.

By the way: for some series laptop, press INS key then F2 worked too.

  • Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 K 9 - screen flickers power on and off

Has anyone encountered a problem where the screen flickers power on and off? Mine will Dim to the point where you can't see whats happening and then back to normal.

I tried a restore drivers, but the problem persisted. I did also check complete anti-virus (I realize that it was probably not the cause of the problem, but decided to be complete). I was thinking that it's purely a hardware problem, like when I use an external monitor connected through a HDMI cable I don't have this problem.

I guess it must be a problem with the connection between the screen and the motherboard. Maybe a problem within the hinge where they cross connection.

Anyone got any other suggestions until I sent it off for repair (only he got in March and I have a 2 year warranty, but who goes back to college soon and do not want to be without him).

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 k 9.

    Thanks in advance.

I agree with you, Fraser and think it could be hardware related issue but I don't in any way you can fix it alone. Your laptop must be controlled by the Toshiba service provider.

Contact the nearest service provider for Toshiba in your country, explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Re: Windows 7 on Satellite Pro C50-A-1HQ

I have a Satellite Pro C50-A-1HQ with windows 8.1 and I'm pretty tired of this OS because of problems with the use of disc 100% that I get sometimes and I have not been able to solve.

I would like to install windows 7 in this labtop. Do you know if there is a problem with that? Windows7 will work fully? I need to change anything before I install it?

    Thanks to you all!

I don't know what can be wrong with the use of disk, and I hope that you tried to optimize version of the OS preinstalled.
I visited the Toshiba download on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp page and I found all the drivers, tools and utilities for Win7 64-bit if your machine is fully supported. To be honest I think that your machine will work fine and stable with Win7.

Before do you anything create recovery disk (DVD or USB) using preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and you can use it at any time if you have notebook with factory again.

  • Re: How to install Windows on the new Satellite Pro C50 8.1?

I just bought a TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO C50, that came with Windows 7 pre-installed.

When you start the system for the first time, I simply close and put Windows 8.1 media into the optical drive (disc 1 of 4) then entered the Recovery Wizard and may have chosen the wrong option, because I completely erase the hard drive and partitions.

Now that I did it, I can't find how to install the Windows Media Pro 4 DVD provided 8.1. I can't find the correct option to do this. I changed the startup option in the control panel by pressing F2 at startup, so it reads from the DVD player. The DVD starts but then takes me into a recovery area of the system, which is not good as I wiped the system completely.

How can I just now to install the Pro 8.1 provided Windows on the clean system right now?

    Thanks for any advice.

First, I would like to know what model of laptop you have exactly. If possible, please report the entire model number (C50-xxxxx). I just want to check the specification for this model of laptop.

Did you buy this laptop as any new product and model in box?

Anyway, if you have installation discs original recovery for this, you should be able to install it without problems. Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. This menu wil shown on the screen, insert disc 1 into the optical disk drive, choose the CD/DVD drive from the menu, and then press ENTER.

ODD must start reading Wizard disk / recovery will be shown o the screen. Choose the option to install out-of-box / factory settings and just follow menu on the screen.

  • Can I ask a new Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 K 9

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 K 9.
I had a few problems with this laptop.

First of all the battery too quickly after only a short period. I was sure it was just a bad battery, as it was fine when I got the laptop. I got a new battery, but the company that I had said that there is a known issue with the motherboard so that it was preferable to examine the issue. In the end, it turned out it was just a battery problem and he was replaced.

My next question was that the screen flickered on and outside. It was never completely extinguished, but he went so dark, it was not usable.

I've had the laptop picked up again and this time I was told that a new motherboard would be installed. Two weeks later I get the back of the laptop and some time then to a conference in Uni my screen flickered on and outside.

Can anyone offer advice on what my rights are here? Can I ask for a new replacement? I am in my last few months at the University and I am on a course of systems and computer networks.

I can't afford to be without my laptop, as the replacement I am getting are not good for what I need to do (example, last replacement loan has 2 GB of RAM, dual processor 2 GHz core, not good at all for the likes of I need to run virtual machines).

    Thank you

This pity s and very annoying if laptop begin to hurt work and really need a bad luck if this happen twice in the line

However, I don t think you will get a brand new replacement laptop of course that you could talk to you dealer if this replacement would be possible but I n t think the seller would accept this proposal.

AFAIK all s laptop hardware problems will be corrected free of charge and this should be done by the authorized service provider

So let's hope that unity will be fixed properly now

  • Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 K 9 - use of the HARD Drive Caddy

    Hello

When I got my new laptop the first think I did was to install an SSD.

I don't usually use my optical Bay so I am planning to install a HARD drive enclosure.
Someone has already done this, and if so have you had any problems? Also, what are data transfer speeds?

    Thank you

    Fraser

I can't tell you if this extra HARD drive caddy will work in the Satellite Pro C50 series STRANGE Bay - A - 1 K 9 because that depends on the support of the BIOS and the controller.

I read about these updates several times in different forums and to be stone, sometimes it is possible, but in many cases, the BIOS does not recognize this drive caddy HARD and laptop does not start.

In the case where you have already tried these updates, please share the details with us!
I think it would be very interesting for others, if this update worked correctly.

  • Satellite Pro C50-A-153 does not not turn on more - overheat?

    LS,
A week ago I bought a new laptop, a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50-A-153.

Last night I was watching some micro-credit (looking for a new holiday) and I noticed that the laptop was overheating.
I hit the market / stop butten and it turned of... later.
And now the computer lights no more.

    _Situation: _
laptop was placed on my table, completely cleared of any blokades for air intake.
The table was heated. Now after hours of reflection, the computer does not work.
With or without power line in it.

    What should do?
    Erik

    Hello

Let's hope that Timox tips might work for you.
In case of workaround won't help you, I would say that some hardware is dead, and so the laptop does not power and more.

What part of material likely to be affected? Hmm, in the worst case, your motherboard is faulty.
But I think first of all that some less expensive parts need to be checked for example RAM modules.

RAM failure would prevent the laptop to boot and so I would check the modules first.
I don t think there is something wrong with HARD drive because even if the HARD disk is defective, the device turns on but could not start the system.

But it's a new laptop... so don't replace anything. The guarantee is valid and in the event of hardware problems, the guarantee must cover the laptop repair.

  • Satellite Pro C50-A-153 - Touchpad does not work properly

First, sorry for my bad English.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50-A-153, the problem is its touchpad and not work correctly, the mouse does not move when I move the finger on the pad, it seems that if I had to roll the bar "or the mouse wheel.

Sometimes, the 'mouse' works for 20 seconds and then again the same thing. An external mouse works fine.

It is not the problem of the functions "Fn". I tried to stop, reset the battery and press the power button to 50seconds. I also tried to uninstall the drivers for the Touchpad, and I think that I tried to change all the properties on the 'Control Panel - mouse'.

Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you.

On most computers laptop Toshiba is installed the Synaptics touchpad driver. With this driver, there are available additional touchpad settings. Try it please change these settings and turn off the features you don't need.
