Satellite Pro C850-1HD: valid guarantee after RAM upgrade?
I work with a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-1HD in the warranty period, and I would like to know whether to extend the warranty for laptop RAM is maintained.
> I would like to know whether to extend the warranty for laptop RAM is maintained.
RAM upgrade does NOT affect the warranty.
Here you can find instruction and nice workaround how to replace Toshiba Satellite Pro C850 modules series
[Satellite Pro C850 / L850 - Memory Module replacement procedure | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU2603BZ0000R01.htm]
I own a C850-1 gr (PSCBXE), which comes with Win8.
I bought Win 7 32 bit Home Premium and reinstalled from scratch.
Later I installed the drivers from toshiba support page in the following order:
Chipset SW installation utility
Intel Management Engine Interface
Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver
Realtek Audio Driver
ATI HDMI Audio Driver
HD SRS Premium Sound Technology
Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
Realtek LAN Driver
Realtek driver LAN wireless
Intel Wireless Display
Filter driver package Realtek Bluetooth
Intel USB3.0 driver
Realtek card reader
TOSHIBA Value Added Package
Sleep TOSHIBA utility
TOSHIBA resolution + plug-in for Windows Media Player
TOSHIBA Media Controller
TOSHIBA Media Controller plugin
TOSHIBA Network Device ID registry tool
TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
PatchFiles PCIIDEREG - 1.2
When installation is complete, WLAN fails after reboot, alternating.
* First boot: WIFI OK *.
* Second startup: WLAN failed *.
* Third start-up (= first boot): WIFI OK *.
* Fourth Starter (= second boot): WLAN failed *.
* and Yes guess
Lack of resources, the WLAN icon is displayed for a few seconds, then "no network" icon.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Your order of installation of drivers contains the Intel WLan driver.
But the laptop Satellite Pro C850-1 GR was equipped with the Realtek RTL8723AE WLan/BT combo card.
I think that you need to uninstall the Realtek WLan driver and WLan Intel driver.
In addition, you must pay attention to the functionality of BT.
The card is compatible with the BT and you need to install the driver Package Realtek Bluetooth filter before installing the battery Toshiba BT.
In addition, do not forget that this WLan adapter is enabled by using the FN + F12 (or just the F12)
Finally and above all do not forget WHAT BIOS the dafault value
My satellite pro c850 cd does not work after updating the bios of toshiba.
What should I do?
Saying: don t work do you mean it does not fuel upward or what do you mean exactly?
Flash the BIOS correctly?
Maybe something went wrong during the upgrade, which means that l ROM flashed module isn't properly
In most cases a special disc of crisis of the BIOS would be required to operate
Not sure if you can get it repaired by your own
Check this thread. Maybe this helps:
Otherwise you need help of the authorized service provider available in your country.
Today I received the notification of an update of the bios,
I completed the update of the bios, but when the laptop restarts I had lost the Wi - Fi connectivity and now cannot connect via Ethernet.
I looked online for answers, but the links I presented m with doesn't seem to work.
I think I need to restore the bios to the previous version but can t find what to do.
I have a Satellite Pro C850 - 14 c
Will you please help if you can because it's ridiculous for Toshiba released a update that actually loses some of the functions to portable computers, especially the main function of a laptop that is portability.
Thanks in advance
What do you mean with lost?
You can enable and disable the wireless network card?
I was wondering if someone could give some advice on a problem I have.
Had an adjustable C850 Pro for a few months and worked well on Windows 8.
I myself am then harassed and intimidated by Microsoft Update in order to install Windows 8.1 and in a moment of weakness, I succumbed (got sick of the nagging).
Since that time, my wifi is very intermittent; either I'm on another computer write this and the laptop is essentially not connected to the internet.
For some reason any (although I didn't try it before), I can not connect via ethernet either, so I think it's probably the driver problems. (I also tried to connect the public wifi but fails).
I tried to install the driver WiFi Toshiba 8.1 but that has not solved the problem.
Then I noticed that I'm supposed to install a bunch of drivers in the order.
Maximum setting to do it, but the first package (associated with bluetooth) said I have to remove the current driver... I try by "turning off", then "Uninstall" but 8.1 seems to re - install automatically and I don't know how to disable this option (I can try to delete the driver file, I guess, but I'm sure 8.1 covered too and will probably launch a drone to try me out ", if I do). *
Any kind soul there suggestions on a way forward? Pls.
I see in the instructions of Toshiba Windows Update 8.1 should I have uninstalled the drivers before the update, but there is not much I can do about it now. :(
> I don't see in the instructions of Toshiba Windows Update 8.1 should I have uninstalled the drivers before the update, but there is not much I can do about it now
All your problems with the Windows 8.1 update related to the fact that you have not upgraded the Windows 8.1 system as recommended by Toshiba.
Back to Windows 8 (reset the system back to factory settings)
Then, install all updates and patches for Windows 8 and follow along with the upgrade of system as described on the Toshiba Windows 8.1 upgrade page
On the page of the Toshiba UE driver, you will find all the instruments that must be installed in the correct order and Windows 8.1 driver!
I face a problem after the upgrade of my TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO C850-1EQ preinstalled version of windows 8 to 8.1.
After installation windows ask the product key to activate windows 8.1, but I don't have this activation key.
I called Microsoft (Greece), but could not help me and told me to call Toshiba (Greece).
The man of Toshiba technical support told me to remind Microsoft!
In addition, he told me to check here (https://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/) before starting the process. Step # 7 says "don't forget your Windows password. You may need to enter after update. »
Now, I'm back to Win 8.
Is there a way to learn my activation key before installation of w8.1?
I tried to find that the use of various tools, but nobody found the key.
In addition, after 8.1 install, a message says:
+ Error code: 0xC004C003 +.
+ The activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked.
I trust Toshiba and I want to use the latest version of w8.1.
I'd be grateful if someone Toshiba technician could help me with this problem.
John (from Greece)

> Is it possible to learn my activation key before installation of w8.1?
No, the preinstalled Windows 8 Toshiba is already activated and during the upgrade to 8.1 Win will not ask you to enter the serial key...
Windows 8 is activated?
Try this: create DVDs of Toshiba Recovery (or flash USB memory stick). Use the recovery media to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings. Update of the Windows 8 at the last State and then do the upgrade to 8.1 Win
I have a Satellite Pro C850 1FN and for some reason it stuck in a display of automatic preparation for startup repair. He will be sitting with the text on the screen, and after 8 minutes bluescreen shows then talk about a problem and then re boot PC.
The cycle then continues.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
It looks like the repair automatic isn t possible.
Have you tried another HARD drive recovery option?
The HARD drive recovery process would begin the new system, but also the driver installation and would set the laptop back to factory settings.
I think that if the system repair isn't possible, your next step should be the HARD drive recovery.
In case the recovery of HARD drive would not work too, then you should use the recovery disc.
bought a new satellite Pro C850-1MX (PSCBZE 00M009GR) in December 2013. System works virtually unchanged to the State of delivery. Yet installed OpenOffice and Firefox, AdobeReader in most actual versions. And a updated driver for AMD GPUS to the latest version. No other changes made.
Now I tried to upgrade to 8.1 via Windows-App-Store Windows. Download was made, run, reboot, installation of changes, preparation of devices--> restart, rollback to 8.0 with 0xC1900101 - 0 x 30018 error code upgrade.
Searched internet solutions: Toshiba ISC
-updated all the components Toshiba via TOSHIBA Service Station--> fact
-(Lien: [http://www.toshiba.de/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]): uninstall some components: esp. LAN/WLAN-driver.
Hmmm... If I do I can't access to Windows App-Store to re-run the upgrade because I have no connection to the network. Stupid...
-Why I'm updating a nearly unchanged system due to some driver-inflicted where I has not changed anything of the delivery status of can´t?
Please indicate any tip/solution. Thank you!

This error message appears because of some incompatible drivers and tools that are already pre-installed on Windows 8.
This problem has been reported several times here in the forum and has been resolved as indicated by user harrie_1 on January 12, 2014
Look in this thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=74631
Check that drivers must be uninstalled in Appendix a.
[How update of Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 | http://support.toshiba.com/sscontent?contentId=4003162]
+ What is important to remove the internet connection. +
+ Only use to download 8.1 and then disconnect (also the Lan cable) +.
+ After Win start 8.1 for the first time do not connect to the internet. +
+ On another pc download first for 8.1 audio, realtek wlan and bluetooth drivers and driver display. +
+ Install and reboot after that when system is stable, you can connect to the internet and download the updates of windows. +
PS: this thread should be closed to avoid the misunderstandings and because the other thread already exists
Hello Forum users,.
Sorry for my bad English. I'll try my best ;-)
I'm trying to upgrade Windows 8.0 8.1 on a Satellite Pro C850-1MX.
Before that I removed:
-Realtek Audio Driver
-Realtek WLAN Driver
-Bluetooth filter Driverpackage
-Toshiba Health Monitor
I also checked the notebook with the update of the Windows Advisor 8 / attend.
Whenever I try the update is installed, the computer restarts and says while the previous version is restored because the update failed (0xC1900101 & 0 x 30018).
I tried to restore the laptop to factory (using the recovery partition), deleted the drivers, tried again. Same failure.
Where is the problem?
Someone at - it an idea?
I Don t know what to do then.
Upgrade the win 8 to 8.1 win, to follow some step by step instructions:
This can be found here: [how update of Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]
Note: after installing Windows 8.1 drivers Toshiba and tools needs to be updated in the correct order.
The Win 8.1 driver installation instruction can be found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver you laptop model section.
Hi, I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-1CW
It came with windows 8 preinstalled,
I have no use or interest in windows 8, so I formatted the hard drive and installed windows 7.
The problem I have is that there are no windows 7 drivers avalible for this laptop.
However, I managed to install all devices, but am left with an unknown device in Device Manager that left me completely puzzled after trying everything I could think of,
If guys, any help would be greatly appreciated friendly, brand...
Have a look here in this How To doc:
It would allow you to know which device you have and then you could find compatible drivers
I can tell you that in many cases drivers released for other series of laptop would be too much work. You can test the drivers released for Satellite C850 (not Pro) series
I recently bought a C850 Pro Satellite and, after update to Windows 7 and everything defining the way I like it, I tried to create a recovery media.
However, when I click on Recovery Media Creator in the programs, the file 'TRMCLcher.exe' is not found. In fact, I can't find anywhere on the computer.
In the directory C:/Program Files/Toshiba/Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, there is an app called "toRDC.exe" but it does not.
Someone has ideas how to get creator of Meda recovery to run? D rather avoid the hassle to use the recovery option of hard drive partition to return to factory settings if possible, especially as I doubt m Recovery Media Creator works even in this case, I have seen ve not deleted or modified files with the program.
Grateful for any help, thank you.
Take a look at this page:
Here, I could find the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator for Win 7 64 bit for download.
Of course, if you need 32-bit version, you must change the settings in the upload form.
Someone at - it helps me find a bezel replacement screen for a Satellite Pro C850 - 1 M 7 please?
eBay gives just generic and I can't find anything on this site or the other.
Thank you very much
Laptop parts are not available for sale. No laptop manufacturers etc. Toshiba page you will not find anything.
Or, you can try to order by a Toshiba service provider or some independent stores. Usually the Googling around you should be able to find it for Satellite Pro or maybe some Satellite C850. The parts must be the same.
I don't know where you want to live, and it is not easy to help looking for a direct link to order.
I'm unable to connect a Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-15 q Part No.: PSKC9E-01JOOHEN to a projector, laptop computer does not wish to duplicate the screen for the projector.
The laptop worked without any problem with a spotlight for months, but its only today that it is unable to connect to a projector via a VGA cable.
So far, I have tried to use the laptop on different different projectors, but will not work on any.
I have used different VGA cables, uninstalled the driver display and then reinstalled the latest driver, updated chipset and bios but nothing seems to work.
Physically, the VGA port seems fine, I tried to project using FN + F4 and the windows key + P, the two options do not work. I have also a right-click on the desktop, properties, all the eyes of correct parameters, also sought to graphics options right click again this sounds all very well.
The laptop is running windows 7 32 bit.
Suggestions as to what to try next?
What exactly happens when you press Fn + F4 (or only F4)?
Other function keys work correctly?
The laptop seems to also support the exit HDMI port.
Are you able to connect the laptop to an external monitor and the output video using the F4 function key?
Am 90 per cent positive that this is not the fault of a broken keyboard keys do seem loose and work very well for a while.*
Basically, the other day I noticed the keys 3 and 5 were not work next to the f3 key (meaning I now have to go into the settings of brightness, whenever I want to increase it). I thought "I'll just reboot and see if that fixes anything" and he did... temporarily. I have to restart every time that I've lost the ability to use these keys, but now it does nothing.
There is no update which should install Windows (updated 8.1 update 1 recently).
There is no update options the keyboard driver (the box is grayed out).
There is nothing stuck, they seem not damaged or less they touch.

* I asked this question on the Microsoft forums and I've learned to run the troubleshooter of material (did not help) and if defective, to search for the latest drivers for keyboard - seems to me later for my model, such as the toshiba site list any keyboard updates.*
I also grabbed the driver files if this will be of no use at all:
PS/2 standard keyboard
Can anyone give me any help? I'll buy a USB keyboard in a few weeks anyway, but for now, it's really annoying not being able to use these keyboard shortcuts: P
> I asked this question on the Microsoft forums and I've learned to run the troubleshooter of material (did not help) and if defective, to search for the latest drivers for keyboard - I seem to have the most recent for my model, as from Toshiba Web site does not list the keyboard updates.
It seems that this opinion is not from Microsoft staff, but some users of the forum.
You should know that the drivers of keyboard (developed by Microsoft) are still part of the Windows System. Any Windows OS you use, the keyboard driver would be always installed as part of the OS. This means that the drivers of special keyboard DON T exist but system uses own driver...
You can check the functionality of the keyboard in USB external keyboard.
If external keyboard works properly, the internal keyboard is malfunctioning and must be replaced.
If the external keyboard does not work properly too, then I recommend you to recover the laptop using Toshiba HDD recovery. Otherwise, there could be question of motherboard (keyboard controller).
I just signed up on this forum because I hope you guys can help me with a really strange problem.
I recently bought a Satellite Pro C850-1MX
It came with Win8, but given that I don't really like Win8, I bought an additional Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) license and installed on the laptop.
The problem I describe, also arrived on 8 to win, which makes it even more strange.
As soon as I connect a cable to the RJ-45 port, Windows tells me, that the LAN connection is not connected.
As soon as I unplug the cable, Windows starts looking for a network and actually found one!
So, the only way to connect to my LAN cable is... I have activate the LAN connection, wait that it detects a network (without the cable connected!) and meanwhile to connect the cable to the network port.
Now... If I disconnect the cable once again, Windows still shows its connected.
I must say, that I am a Director of professional network for more than 10 years now, so I should know my systems, but this never happened to me before. Event log shows nothing, re-installing drivers did nothing either. IM quite confused here and I hope you guys can help me.
Thanks for reading, and let me know if you need any additional info!
Greetings from the Germany,
To be honest I confused m.
I would try to start talking about the drivers installed, since you changed the system for Win 7.
All the network devices, such as card WLan and LAN card are properly recognized in Device Manager?
As I m not wrong not the laptop was equipped with a network card Realtek-8111F (1000BASE-T/100Base-TX/10Base-T) and WLan RTL8723AE Realtek b/g/n card.
If both should appear in the device properly Manager if you have installed the drivers correctly.
> As soon as I unplug the cable, Windows starts looking for a network and actually found one!
Are you sure that you speak of LAN and WLAN?
For me it made no further since. If the network cable is unplugged, the notebook would connect to the WLan where WiFi is enabled.
