  I have a Satellite Pro A300-13Y with 4 USB ports. The USB ports of two right don t work. I bought this phone recently (2-3 weeks ago). It has a Windows Vista Business SP1 on it.   I know it s not the best way, but it's the only way to exclude a hardware failure. If after a recovery of the won´t of USB ports not work then you can send it to repair without being in doubt that they will charge you for the repair.

  It s very strange because this device is not very old, and as far as I know you can order all recover cd. Toshiba should always have a copy of the CD or DVD. I can t believe that it s is not possible.
  I would recommend asking EPA again or to call other ASP in Poland.

  This laptop is oldie and I doubt that pilots will be released.

  By reading this forum threads I've noticed that most of the user using the driver on Win 7 OS Vista.
  Maybe you should google for Conexant AC97 Vista driver and should try a Vista on Windows 7 driver

• Satellite Pro L10 boot password is not the same as in HWSetup

  I recently got a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 by my employer. I entered a password and then confirm the password again in the configuration of HW from Toshiba in Control Panel of Windows XP. Then I clicked on the recommended option. No string or password was displayed in the box under Registered.

  Since then, I was not able to boot up the laptop as the password that I entered Setup of HW is not recognized by the laptop started upward.   Try resetting the USB ports. This means that you need to remove the USB ports/hubs/controllers in Device Manager.
  Then, you have to restart the laptop to get new USB ports.
  In my case it has worked.

  By the way; I recommend upgrading the chipset driver and disable the feature for each energy-saving usb port.
  This can be done in the Device Manager-> port USB-> properties-> tab to save energy

  (1) I have attached an external series COM port to the machine. However, I can not connect to the COM Port using Hyperterminal.
  (2) I installed a Bluetooth USB adapter, but I can't view the protocol configuration.

  Each of the above works perfectly with another laptop that doesn't have a Bluetooth or even a network card.

  Everyone has experienced similar problems. I use WinXP SP2.

  1, in which is the external COM port connected? Is detected in a straight path in Device Manager? What is the error msg to Hyperterminal?
  When connected via PCMCIA, try to change the settings for PCMCIA slot in the BIOS!

  2, try to reinstall the Toshiba Bluetooth stack! There may be some problems. The MS Bluetooth stack does not work properly with the Toshiba devices and one of the earlier Toshiba Bluetooth stack is not signed by Windows XP Service Pack 2!

All USB ports stopped working.  When I plug a usb card, windows makes the sound as it connects and the card gets power (light).  I see the map appear in disk drives in Device Manager.  The player does not display in windows Explorer or disk management.  In Device Manager, it has an exclamation point and says that the device cannot start.

  Strangely, I have a USB keyboard and mouse and they work very well.

  It's just the USB drives and chips and SD cards that are not displayed.

  I recommend you remove the hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager.
  Expand the domain controller USB (in Device Manager), choose the USB devices - root - hub USB enhanced host controller, and press DELETE. This must be done for all devices listed there.

  Satellite L650D-103 was equipped with an AMD chipset.
  The chipset driver is part of the ATI display driver and that's why I recommend you to reinstall the ATI display driver again.

  Did you install the image on the Toshiba Recovery CD? This image contains the Windows operating system, Toshiba drivers and additional utilities. After installation, everything should work fine, and also the USB ports should work also.

  The USP ports, you can find in Device Manager in the serial BUS controller universal section. Open the tree and check if there is some yellow exclamation points.
  Then try to remove the Device Manager, the controllers and the USB hub and restart the laptop. After restarting again the OS should recognize USB controllers deleted again.

  I am currently that use the recovery cd of the product on my satellite pro L10, however when I am with regard to the selection of recover whole hard disk (option 1) then continue and then the following message appears on a black screen:

  Please format the HARD drive again and remove all partitions on the HARD drive.
  Several months ago, my recovery CD did not work. But after formatting HDD, I was able to perform the installation of the Toshiba Recovery CD.

  You simply remove the USB controller from Device Manager.
