  I have a Satellite Pro A10. I used it for a few years on AC power only. I tried to use it on battery, but I don't have that about 5 minutes before switching to standby mode.   new to this and not a technical person, please bear with me! My laptop will not charge the battery. the laptop works plugged whn in the socket. I also bought another battery and still does not support. When I clik on th battery info it says remains unknown. The orange light is constant flickering, when I remove the battery and put it in a bag in (off the first laptop) the light orange rest on (not flashing) for about 5-10 minutes and then starts flashing again. Any idea what I can do to get my battery charged and be able to use it on battery power?

  What do you mean exactly by still no joy? Have you installed the right driver WLan and has been the WLan card recognized in the Device Manager?

  I think the laptop is using wireless Mini-PCI Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card.
  In order to check again if a good driver was used.

  Please don t be angry with me, but it is a book of 5 years and I m sure that it s not Vista capable of course you can install Vista on this unit but it of not impossible that some devices would not 100% compatible.

  Unplug ALL USB device.
  Open the Device Manager.
  View, show hidden devices.
  Uninstall all devices under USB controllers.
  Uninstall all devices in storage Volumes. Say no to all reboot prompts until you are finished. In addition, if a storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore her and move on to the next.

  After installing XP, make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed. It contains important updates and can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L10, which won't work for some reason any.

  It seems that the laptop is not able to boot the system, but I m not quite sure if it s because of the defective system or HARD drive corruption.
  If it s just a system problem, the installation of the new Windows operating system should help you to get it resolved.

  I recently got a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 by my employer. I entered a password and then confirm the password again in the configuration of HW from Toshiba in Control Panel of Windows XP.   Press and hold the 'C' key is a specific shortcut of Toshiba to allow the laptop to boot directly from the CD. However, you can also select the CD-ROM as boot device in the BIOS, just press the F12 key when you see the Toshiba start screen for power over the process and you will be presented with a menu of the device selection.
