Satellite Pro L10 - recovery does not work
I am currently that use the recovery cd of the product on my satellite pro L10, however when I am with regard to the selection of recover whole hard disk (option 1) then continue and then the following message appears on a black screen:
For a drive partition error checking - please try again!
Press a key to continue...
When you press a key, then I get another white screen like this:
I have no idea what to do about it, or even if it is indeed a problem, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Please format the HARD drive again and remove all partitions on the HARD drive.
Several months ago, my recovery CD did not work. But after formatting HDD, I was able to perform the installation of the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Have tried to get the WIFI adapter works on Vista, have downloaded the latest drivers but still no joy.
I know it works because I have a dual operating system: XP & Vista.
What do you mean exactly by still no joy? Have you installed the right driver WLan and has been the WLan card recognized in the Device Manager?
I think the laptop is using wireless Mini-PCI Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card.
In order to check again if a good driver was used.
Please don t be angry with me, but it is a book of 5 years and I m sure that it s not Vista capable of course you can install Vista on this unit but it of not impossible that some devices would not 100% compatible.
I have a Satellite Pro M10 and my infrared does not work. I downloaded the zip file with the drivers from this site. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it always happens in the Device Manager under "unknown - SMC IrCC - Fast Port infrared (IR Module: HP). (with an exclamation point). When I look at the properties it says under device status:
This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
However, under Driver Details is said:
I extracted the zip file in my home directory of c:\downloads\infrared.
whatever I do, it does not now. It worked when I bought it, but I have too many things on the system for a new installation. Which brings me to another question. Is it possible to re - install windows without losing all your data, etc.? I did it with other systems (95,98) Windows. But it seems that the Toshiba recovery disc means any wiping.
Thanks in advance for any help.
If your HARD disk contains two partitions and you have saved the data on a second you can reinstall the operating system on the first partition using recovery DVDs.
Hi all that I need help urgent because it drives me crazy. First of all, I use XP PRO. My laptop is fairly new, only around the age of 4 months, I had no problem with it at all. I formatted my laptop yesterday and reinstalled all the drivers that I downloaded here:
and everything works fine except the touchpad. I have already installed shared, utilitarian toggle the touchpad Module and I have the latest BIOS installed and reset all default settings and I made sure that the touchpad is enabled in the BIOS, but also pressing FN + F9 to enable during Windows.
I installed the latest touchpad driver Synpatics I downloaded from the homepage of Synaptics. But for some reason any, that it does not work, I don't know what is the problem here. My touchpad worked before I formatted my laptop, it worked fine and has never had any problems. Will you please tell me what is wrong because I need to use my touchpad sometimes as well, so I can't use a mouse all the time.
> I installed the latest Synaptics touchpad driver that I downloaded from the home page of Synaptics
I think that you question refers simply to the driver for the touchpad that is missing or incorrect.
I put t know how it works on Toshiba notebook Australian, but the Toshiba European Satellite Pro L300 units needs touchpad different drivers. some use the Toshiba touchpad driver and some units need a driver for the Synaptics touchpad.
In your case, I recommend this controlled again.
By the way; My touchpad is always disabled so that en external mouse is connected.
It is parameters that control it. Please check in your touchpad properties too!
I had this problem for a while, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to solve this problem.
I have more or less of work Satellite Pro 4270 (4200 Series) computer laptop with XP on it.
The USB port does not work. I don't know why it does not work. I tried to replace the USB module on the motherboard that has not worked. I've updated the BIOS to the latest version, has not functioned. Removed and reinstalled the drivers in XP, not worked. I'm out of ideas.
IrDA works very well.
Some suggestions please. Thank you
I understand, were you solder the module USB motherboard and then solder another module?
I mean, what have you done with the module USB, replacing? Sorry, I don't remember exactly how the USB module is connected to my mobo SP4270 seen last about the half a year ago... If the welding, I don't wonder the problem... but if not, there may be a solution...
I have a problem with my bluetooth device. I have Toshiba Satellite Pro U400.
My previous operating system was Windows Vista business and I just replace it with Windows 7.
Since I installed it my device Bluetooth does not work anymore.
I have had no problems with it with my previous Windows.
Now, the following messages will appear: "Bluetooth stack for windows by Toshiba is incompatible with this version of windows" I have windows 7 Professional.
I tried to update the drivers, but I was told that I have the best and latest drivers.
Can someone help me?
Seems that you are still using an old battery Bluetooth.
You this should remove the system and need to install a new one which you can download here:
You can find the pile of BT for Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit version
After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.
Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.
I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure
(1) if they are correct
(2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.
I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.
(1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try
(2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.
But this is only possible if the windows started successfully
PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.
G ' Day,.
I have a little problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C660.
Unfortunately I had to remove the keyboard and thus dislodged the
fragile plug to connect to the computer.
The 'Shift' key refused to work since. All other keys work as usual.
The only problem is the 'Shift' button does not.
I tried to gently move the plug but made no difference so now have to
Use a USB keyboard.
Can you please help with suggestions for this problem?
Thank you for your time.
See you soon,.
I really put t know what you think when you know that there is no connection for each unique key, but for the entire keyboard.
To be honest I ve changed keyboard several times but never noticed this problem.
Are the two SHIFT keys off function?
My satellite pro C850 1HE keyboard intermittently stops working correctly, and begins to open programs, for example, by pressing F will open the file search, C open computer this kind of thing
is there a permanent solution to this problem?
This is not something to do with installed programs is not something to do with the browser settings.
restarting the computer works in a short time, but that is a long time, it's really annoying because I use this for work and study!
> is there a permanent solution to this problem?
The question is what causes this problem? Is it related hardware or software related issue?
Why n t connect a USB keyboard just to check if the same would happen?
In case the USB keyboard would work fine, I guess that the internal keyboard failures and the solution would be a simple replacement of the defective part.
My Satellite Pro M30 laptop is about 5 years old and is a refurb. Until yesterday, my wireless connection was very good. Although my wireless connection is running with high speed and it is connected, I now cant get on the internet without using the ethernet cable.
It is certainly a problem with the laptop itself.
A framework has changed (perhaps with a function key?) or the internel wireless card packed.
Can anyone suggest anything I can try with the laptop first before you buy an external wireless card?
I don't think there is that you can do.
The wireless network card appears correctly in Device Manager.
Make sure that the wireless network card is enabled correctly (FN + F8).
There may be a problem with the WLAN antenna. Who knows?
Anyway, if you can't get this to work once again use small USB WLAN adapter and be happy.
To be honest, is not bad idea because new USB WLAN glue can work with G WLAN or even N. The original WLAN card in your notebook is, I guess, old A/b.
Recently bought a Satellite Pro A300, with integrated webcam. However, when I try to use the webcam in Windows live messenger it comes up with the following error messages.
* "We couldn't start your camera. Please check that your camera is not currently being used by another program, and then try again. » *
Also this message...
* "Messenger is not available right now. Please try again later. (0x82000009). "
Now, the camera is not enabled, and Messenger works normally.
* HELP! *
When you get the message if another program uses always the camera.
So, try to disable the webcam software and other e-mail programs in msconfig.
Restart the laptop and if you want to use the webcam software you need to start the first webcam software.
I have a Satellite A300-1MC. It does not start in windows is right there with the Welcome screen. PC diagnosis indicates that the hard drive is faulty. I replaced the hard drive with a MK3276GSX Toshiba MK3252GSX - both are 320 GB.
When I insert the recovery disc I get the following message when disk 2 is running "insert the next recovery means that contains the D:\08008XSP6 file. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT.
Any ideas where I'm going from here? »
Are you sure that you Recovery disk was created correctly?
This recovery disk function properly in the past?
You label the discs properly?
It seems that there is a problem with the recovery disk.
bought a toshiba Satellite Pro A100... came with a built in blue tooth... al worked well... until 4moths to fight back my computer had to be repair he was expelled to the toshiba returned however restarted by bluetooth/service application are not on the taskbar.
I am looking for the computer n found in system folders aside my blue tooth stack but how to make the blue tooth to work.
Make sure the WiFi switch is on.
+ and select the bluetooth antenna.
Check if your Bluetooth module has been correctly detected:
-Open the DeviceManager (start-> Run-> "devmgmt.msc").
-Open the section "system devices".
-A "Bluetooth ACPI" device should be available.
(The system has detected the BT module if this is the case).
Install the battery last Bluetooth (= drivers + Bluetooth management software) v5.10.12T.
You can download it here:
My 6100 Pro Sam just being away from usual mother board and power Board replacement with Toshiba, but now I have a strange keyboard problem.
When I turn it on, all the keys are working. After a few minutes, '3' is not working, then 'r' fails, then '5', ' 7 ', ' 8',' 9 ', ' 0' to stop working. At this point, I can feel something very hot under the middle of the keyboard. A reboot and no keys work. Another reboot with the internal keyboard and an external keyboard to the PS2 is still defective (some keys work, others do not), but the outer one works properly.
Now, if the pc has not obtained if hot as the middle of the internal keyboard, then, I would conclude that the keyboard was defective, but for his failure, slowly and sequentially like this and it fails at the same way every day (since Toshiba rebuild it!).
Perhaps, internal keyboard controller overheating?
Anyone know what this could be? :-(
See you soon,.
Right under the keyboard of your pro 6100 is the VGA graphics controller (the keyboard cable plugs on the same map). It is normal that this part become hot during use.
It is strange that your problem appears after a while and not immediately.
It could be just a bad relocation of the keyboard cable (it's a thin layer as a movie negative photo) which easily appears there, but... it may be something more serious, too. (Especially since you had done upgrade where the material had to be changed)
I consult the service centre once more and ask for instructions how to deal with this. Do not ignore it (using an external keyboard instead of internal dysfunction) because he could end up in something more serious soon...
P.S. Please keep us updated on your efforts
Got a Satellite Pro A200 2 weeks and the wireless worked well.
Then after a week there was a problem, try to connect. I was able to reboot the pc and he was able to connect.
Now it just doesn't quite work.
I can connect through the LAN and I have another laptop that connects to the router with no problems.
I checked in the Device Manager, the wireless card works correctly and I've updated the drivers for it but no. - GB.
Any help would be great.
see you soon
Try to remove the network adapter from Device Manager wireless.
Then restart the computer and reinstall newest WLan driver that you can download on the page of the Toshiba driver!
Second, you could try to set up the WiFi network using an Intel ProSet Utility (but only if you have a Wlan Intel card.)
If you have an Atheros Wlan card, then try using the Atheros Client utility for configuring Wlan
