Satellite Pro L100: Wireless network card cannot find the Wlan router

Hello

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite pro L100, which has a built in wireless card, an Atheros AR5005g. I activated the card wireless via the switch on the laptop, and then I let the search for available networks. She is 4-5 or secured creditor and unsecured networks in my area, but it does not find my router which is about 3 meters from the hotel!

I tried to manually configure my network to see if the laptop can locate it, but without success. I've used a network card in my last laptop, a Belkin 802.11 g that I then inserted in the excellent connection laptop and bingo to 54mps. But I want to use the integrated wireless card that captures an unsecured somewhere network in my area but the signal is weak and is very slow.

Can someone help me please? The router that I'm trying to access is a Netger WGR 614. NETGEAR were not useful.
Rgds,

Richard.

Hello

First of all I want to say that for these questions there is not a magic solution.
I think that you need to check many options that could have a negative influence on the WLan connectivity.
First of all, you should check if the Wlan router supports WLan standard even as the Wlan card. For example 802.11 B or G or both

Disable all ciphers on the router as well as the MAC address filtering.
Then check the WiFi channels! Try to use the same channel on the map of local area network on the router.

Which driver do you use? Try to download the latest WLan driver Atheros site.
I think the Atheros provides the own local network configuration utility. Try to use it.

As you can see, there are many options that must be verified

Additional information:
Also, one of my notebooks is not able to connect to the router because I use a WLan router that supports a 802.11 BG WLan standard and in my book the AB 802.11 card has been installed.
So I can't connect to the router ;(

  • Satellite Pro L10 - wireless network card is not detected in Win7

    Hello

I have a dual boot with XP and Win7 Pro.

If I install the wireless driver from the download on XP site, no problem.

I tried the same procedure using the download wireless driver on the partition Win7 using a) driver XP b) driver Vista & c) the Vista driver in compatibility mode. Nothing worked and it is even not a yellow exclamation in Device Manager, so the wireless card point don't has not recognized at all.

    Same problem with Ubuntu Linux.

In XP, it is recognized as "INPROCOMM IPN2220 Wireless Lan Card".

    Any ideas?

The entry in Device Manager is right and so must be included in Windows XP Home edition.

  • Satellite Pro L10 - wireless network cards are compatible?

I have now managed to dual boot my older Toshiba L10 with XP and Windows 7.

The existing wireless LAN card is not compatible with the Windows 7 partition and I use an external usb wireless.

Does anyone have recommendations on an internal wireless card I can buy which can replace the existing one and is both compatible with XP and Windows 7 32-bit? Is it easy to replace one card with another?

    Hello

Hardware upgrade on mobile machinery is very limited and most of the information you can get on an upgrade supported for RAM or HARD drive. Upgrade for all other hardware is not supported, so actually there is no info on the hardware compatibility.

Nobody here can offer you a list with 100% compatible cards WLAN.
What WLAN card is inside your old L10?
Have you tried to install the drivers of Toshiba Portal Wlan WLAN - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Download driver driver from here and install it. Maybe this will help you get the wireless network card is functioning properly.

  • Satellite A100-495 - Intel 3945abg wireless network card cannot find wifi networks

    Greetings,

I have some problems with networks wireless on my laptop Satellite A100-495.

The problem is: my wireless adapter (intel / pro 3945abg) doesn't seem to find wireless networks. If I portable place very close to my router wireless (such as 1 m) - connection can be established. If I move away (~ 5 m)-no connection or 'very bad' quality and constantly broken. Other notebooks I've tried still have "very good" quality at the same range.

This happens with other routers as well. And I can not any sign of wi - fi in my Uni (my colleagues have no problem with their machines).

I tried to play up with some parameters. Reinstalled adapter. Downloaded the latest drivers. Nothing helps.

A tip? Thank you in advance.

    Hello

Something like that happened to me a long time ago.
I used the Wlan configuration option to own Windows. For several months, I use the Intel Proset configuration utility to establish the WiFi connection!
    It works!

In addition, I have disabled the power Wlan option in the Wlan card properties save and adjust the intensity of the signal at top. I remember, in the advanced properties, you can find the 802.11 option preamble. The value is Long and short on my laptop.

    Hey dude... Check it out.

  • How to access the Satellite Pro 6100 wireless network card?

I'm cleaning a Satellite Pro 6100 for a customer and noticed that it has built in wireless card (something they didn't know). However, I just can't work out how to access. I pushed the little switch on the side backwardsa and I rocked forward, Fn + F8 and everything else I can think. But nothing happens.

I even found the Switch Device Network utility, but that is only to show the LAN card.

    Any ideas?

First of all please check if Device Manager in the laptop has an integrated WiFi card. The switch WLan available on the website of the laptop does not. Laptops are delivered with different specifications, and the WLan card is optional.

I think that the WLan card is not installed in your laptop and so you cannot use it.

  • Satellite A30 - what wireless network cards are supported?

Have a computer Satellite A30 laptop-404, I wonder what kind of card Mini-PCI Wireless would be compatible with my PC?

    Found this one for example.

Gigabyte GN-WI01GS MINI PCI ADAPT 802. 11B / G BASE of RALINK CHIP SNM

Anyone who knows what other types could be used?

    Hello

Hmm, well I've never heard of Gigabyte WLAN cards and I don't know laptops that are equipped with these cards.

I checked Toshiba Web site and some Satellite A30 models shipped with a card Atheros and Intel WLAN. So, I recommend buying a those manufactures wireless network card.
For example Wireless LAN Mini PCI card (2, 4 GHz, 802 11 b) PA3212U-3MPC should be compatible.

  • Satellite A300D-11v - wireless network card does not work under Win XP

I ve problem. I'm looking everywhere and I don t know what s happened.
I installed XP and I ve problem with WLAN. Before I've used Vista and was ok :)
I got the driver for RTL8187b of
    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=1&PFID=1&level=6& Conn = 5 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false & downloads = true #R TL8187B
and I tried the official website of Toshiba.

In Device Manager, everything is ok, but I can't connect.
    This n t work:
"The wireless network card is Atheros and not Realtek! The LAN card is Realtek but not the wireless network card!
The Atheros driver can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Can someone write me step by step how this fix.

Please help me and sorry for my English :)

    > Also may try to reinstall the drivers that appear in this web site, appear here the Atheros drivers your need of portable.

Your computer laptop doesn t support card Atheros, but card Realtek WLan.

    > In Device Manager, everything is ok, but I can't connect.
As you say the WLan card is recognized correctly, but you can't connect.
    Why?

I m do not know why, but you should check first if your WLan router uses the same standard WLan (802.11 A, B or G) as the WLan card.
    Check the settings!

Then check if the right WLan encryption has been selected, check if the Mac address was not enabled, check if the firewall doesn t affect the WLan connectivity.

  • Wireless network card cannot be turned on

I have a Gateway t-6330u that I recently had to reformat the hard drive and when Vista was reinstalled the driver for the wireless network adapter was missing. I downloaded the correct driver for it, but now Windows fails to activate the wireless network card. The hardware switch is turned on, but in the windows Mobility Center, it won't let me turn on the wireless network card. I tried to repair it with the windows network diagnostics, but it is also unable to turn on wireless networks. Then he told me he tried a repair but the problem persists. After trying a few times he gives up and tells me to contact my network administrator. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi adht450,

This problem can occur because of an older version of the driver that you need to update.

Click Start> type in Device Manager in the start search > expand NICs in Device Manager > right click of network card > click Properties> click on Driver tab > click on update drivers> click OK.

You can view the following link to update the drivers:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

You may need to look into the security WPA and WPA2 keys, you will probably need to change this.

  • Satellite Pro L20 PSL25E - where can I find the driver WLan?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 - PSL25E 00G019GR and I am trying to install the wireless card.
Where can I get the software/driver?
I can't find these (for Windows XP) in the download area.

The wireless device is turned on, but I don't see the icon in the network environment.
    So, what should I do?

    Thanks for your help.

    Michael

    > The wireless device is turned on, but I don't see the icon in the network environment.
Are you sure that the laptop is equipped with wireless network card?

AFAIK the L20 Pro Sam is an older model laptop and L20 not all were equipped with internal WLan module even if the WLan switch is available.

You should check if the wireless network adapter is listed in the device under network adapters Manager.

  • Re: Satellite L300D and Win7 - cannot find the WLAN driver

I have the Satellite L300D (PSLC8C-06T01R) I just got this in the month; I decide to put Windows 7 on thinking there would be all the necessary drivers. Well I was wrong; Once I installed 7 we find all drives but the wireless card. I don't then told me the Vista disks would work on Windows 7 so I tried and no luck, I then put Vista on and everything was fine, then when I went to look for the driver for the wireless card in Vista, it doesn t do anything the card is always 'does not work correctly.

Vista Atheros wireless drivers or something else on the site Web of Toshiba don t do anything.

If anyone has the same problem made me know, or if anyone knows how to fix this or even if it is possible to find the drivers for windows 7 that would be great cuz that s my goal (Windows 7)

Please as soon as possible I need this laptop at the University.

For me, it makes sense to collect all relevant information before you do something again. Obviously you didn't check before installing Win7 Toshiba support page. Until that Win7 is not released Toshiba will offer no tricks of Win7.

As I see you have Canadian cell phone model and I don't know what WLAN card is inside, but in your a story thing confused me. You have installed Vista again. I assume you have done this with original Toshiba recovery image. This recovery image is designed for certain model of laptop and contains all the necessary drivers for all hardware components. I don't understand what the problem with the wireless network card.
I have to ask you if you have installed Vista with the Toshiba recovery image?

  • Satellite Pro L40 with realtek card: cannot see wlan Vista networks

    Hey

You just bought the L40 (Realtek card) and it cannot see wireless networks. The diagnosis of Vista, is that the wireless adapter must be turned on. Then, it will fail to start. Function key and F8 (wireless on/off switch) does nothing.

The wireless router is well - connected to an XP machine. I can connect to the router without a problem by using an ethernet cable.

Running on the latest Microsoft drivers.

    Pointers much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

you turned on the wireless the case switch on "ON"? Maybe you forgot this one, and this is perhaps the reason why it won´t work.

Please check and make sure that you then use the FN + F8 switch.

Would appreciate your comments on this...
