Satellite Pro L20 - need keyboard driver

Hello world

Just need help to find a keyboard driver Toshiba Satellite Pro L20, I re-installed windows as my hard drive crashed and as was a second hand laptop he didn t come with recovery disks.
I downloaded every other player wireless, screen, sound, touch pad batch but I really struggle to find a m keyboard driver.

My laptop at the moment alone will keyboard type with the weird key, others do not work at all I use a plug to the keyboard for the time being, not very mobile.
Any help would be appreciated most.

Kind regards

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my problem.

Akuma is right. You should not install driver for keyboard functionality. Used keyboard driver Microsoft standard included in the operating system Windows XP Home/Vista edition.
So if some buttons do not work, there may be a problem with the keyboard itself and you need to replace.

You have an Intel graphics card?

Well, try to use and to install the graphics driver on the Intel site.

If you will not be able to install it by running setup.exe, then try to reinstall the driver through the Device Manager.
Here, you can select the graphic card and choose Update driver
Use the advanced procedure, and then point to files of driver that you downloaded from the Intel page.

Generally, the installation should functions that it worked on my system too.

    Thank you.

I relly m not 100% sure if my advice will help you to solve this problem, but I recommend to remove the drive from the device and then Manager to delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Then restart the laptop and check if it helps it worth a try.

Anyway if it doesn t help chances are readers equipment would malfunction. Maybe the s drive laser lens can not calibrate in the right position and, therefore, it of not possible to read or write CD or DVD.

Before even I can check to see if compatible, I have a problem in removing the existing carpet * a unit... UJ841S there are 2 screws likely below, but I think I'll also remove first the keyboard.

I'm embarrassed about the lifting of the (?) metal strip that runs along the top of the keyboard... of clues on how to do it?

And am I correct in having to delete the "Board of Directors?
    Thanks in advance...

Yes, you will need to remove the keyboard, because under the keyboard, you will find a screw that holds the CD/DVD drive.
First, then remove the thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons and remove the 2 screws securing the keyboard.

Then you could lift the keyboard carefully (don't forget the keyboard cable flat that connect the keyboard to the motherboard)
Then remove the two screws holding the optical disk drive.

Then turn the computer, remove the two screws (at the bottom of the unit) fixing the ODD.
Then pull on the STRANGE carefully.

This description should help you to remove the disc.

But if you don t have enough experience; Don t this and ask the technician for help!

  • Satellite Pro L20 - need to re - install

I have a client who owns many Toshiba laptops, but I have a problem with is the L20, which is the last Tosh they have. Anyway, the end user has a viral infections 4958 stggering on his machine and the machine was not happy. They have been sanitized using an external SATA caddy.

All the windows files have been infected then rather than dealing with a machine that I don't know what he will do in the future, I backed up to another drive and formatted the HARD drive.

I tried to use a copy of Windows XP to re - install the laptop, which went well until it took a restart to complete the installation and then there was just a cursor blinking in the upper left corner. The mother of customers got supplied with a recovery disk for a Sat Pro L10 which seems well - having worked at least until I've restarted.

At this point, I get the BSOD imfamous indicating that there is a problem with the disk controller. Windows has shut down to prevent any furtherdamage etc etc.

Ideas of how I can get around this problem - obviously I asked the EU and his son recovery CD, but they can't because they moved.

    My options: -.

1 a copy of the recovery for this model CD
2 get the drivers on the HARD drive and then write a simple batch file to change the register of autoexec.bat

    Other ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much

You get the BSOD because you tried to reinstall the OS from the restore CD sat a Pro L10. This doesn t work on the Pro L20 CD!
You must use the designed only for this laptop recovery CD!

The simplicity of installation from the CD of Win XP should generally work.
Have you used the XP with SP2? Please do!
After the installation of the OS, you will find all the drivers on the Toshiba driver page.

If the installation of the original Win XP OS does not work so that you can order the CD from recovery for the Pro L20.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - original drive not grateful

Ive looked for forums and the internet in general but was unable to find anything related to my problem.

Recently, I removed the my Satellite Pro L20 original hard drive and replaced by a spare part just to test another operating system. I didn't wipe my existing windows of the original OS.

However, now if I place the original hard drive in the laptop, it does not recognize it in the BIOS at all. The original works of disk of 60Go perfectly in an external USB caddy on the laptop, but used in their own country. At first, thought it might be the drive so I bought a new drive of 250 GB, but again, not recognized.

Reading, I think that the original drive is an EIDE drive and I don't think that the replacement of 12 GB is drive I put in temporarily. Ive also tried reflashing the BIOS, hoping that might solve the problem, but without any luck again.

Could you get it someone please let me know how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

This s very strange problem you have deleted first disk of 60 GB, then you have reinserted and the BIOS doesn t recognize now 60 GB HARD drive.
    Am I wrong?

One of my friends had a similar problem. The original internal HDD was not recognized by the BIOS. After a lengthy investigation, he set the BIOS to the default settings and restarted the laptop.

This helped to recover the HARD drive

  • Need of repair for CD-rom update on Satellite Pro L20

Is there anywhere I can download a repair manual for Satellite Pro L20 that I just bought a dvdrw drive & want to adapt it myself

Unfortunately, you won't find manuals repair on the Toshiba site. Only Toshiba service partners have such documents and the ability to use laptop manuals.
As far as I know, the reader is fixed with a screw that is placed at the bottom of the unit and under the keyboard.
After the withdrawal of these two screws, you can disconnect an optical drive to the connector on the system board.

But without any experience, you must remove all readers. I think you should ask the service of Toshiba for help because he has more experience in such cases
