Satellite Pro L20 - no sound from the front speakers

I just bought the laptop L20. Everything works fine apart from the front speakers. I don't get all the sounds on their part. Sound works very well since the head phone jack. I ran that the Toshiba diagnostic test and has not made all the sounds either. In the volume control window each volume slider is up and the Mute check boxes are checked. The obvious problem only in the window volume control which is the "PC Speaker" section is grayed out and cannot be selected. I installed the latest version of BIOS and drivers audio Toshiba Web site but not joy. Am I missing something obvious here? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello

If the sound works fine through headphones so I guess we're all ok with the onboard sound.
There may be a malfunction of the speaker. If the laptop is under warranty all replacements are performed free of charge.
The speakers are not very expensive and you should ask the service to help him.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - I can identify the right recovery disk?

    Hi all

I wonder if there is a way to identify what recovery CD or DVD came with a particular laptop model?

I have a number of Toshiba laptops and it is that recently that I started to write a note that's CD/DVD with a machine.
    for example
    GMR400788EN0 goes with Satellite Pro A200 PSAE4E-03U017EN

I'm trying to figure out which CD is going with a Satellite Pro L20, PSL25E-00800CEN

    Thank you
    Ian

    Hello

Sorry, but I think that there is no way to identify which CD belongs to what laptop.
If your laptop comes with the recovery disk it should be a CD label or so on it.

Anyway, it shouldn't be a problem, and you should test if it s the right recovery disk.
Or you have so many Toshiba laptops? ;)

  • Satellite Pro A300 - nasal sound if the WIFI is enabled

School, I work has recently bought some A300s, but when they turn them on, all sounds are stuttering.

This is the jingle of Windows startup, the CD and DVD, and programs installed on the computer laptop itself. The only way I can stop the sound problems is by disabling the wireless lan. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, update the driver, replace the driver, but all without success. The school network is wireless so disable the wireless LAN cards long isn't really an option.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Hey xarkaltos,

It would be interesting to know what OS you are using. I have too many Satellite Pro A300 and I can t t notice nasal sound if the WIFI is enabled. My A300 works pretty well and doesn't make strange sounds.

Maybe you have installed another OS, if you restore the OS from Toshiba by using the recovery disc or HARD drive recovery option.
Otherwise, follow the instructions posted by Al - eX.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - right button on the touchpad does not work

    I have a Sat Pro L20.
When I press the right button on the touchpad, nothing happens. The left button works fine.
I checked the properties of the mouse left button is set as the main click with the right button, defined as the secondary click.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Maybe the touchpad button has a physical malfunction.
But first of all, you can try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad. Check if the resettlement will change something. But the truth; I don t think this will solve the problem. Anyway, try is free, you know.

But if that does not help so I think you need to replace the touchpad.

  • Satellite Pro U200 - no sound via the headphones or the speakers on Windows 7

    Hello everyone,

In desperate need of help! Tried running Windows 7 RC on my U200, all beautiful, but the sound just will not work.
The system detects the soundcard no problem, I also get a peak in the 7sound control Windows, but there is simply no sound through headphones or speakers. I tried to run the Vista drivers from the Toshiba site, but they do not work either.

Does anyone know if toshiba must support the U200 under Windows 7?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello!

If your sound card is properly listed in Device Manager to make sure that his isn't muted. Check it!

In addition, I can recommend try the drivers from the Toshiba page Windows 7 beta we. Maybe they will work for you:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

In the worst case, you will need to go back to Windows Vista.

    Good bye

  • No sound from the rear speakers 5.1 surround

original title: 5.1 surround sound does not work properly on windows 7.

5.1 Klipsch surround sound does not work with windows 7.  WM player and library itunes only play on two rear speakers.  System works fine on excerpts from concerts to youtube.  Worked well previously on XP.  Have seen a lot of forums with people having the same problem but no solution.  Anyone? Thank you.

    Hi K Johnston,

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

I understand from the description of the issue that you are having problems with setting up 5.1 surround sound speakers. Let me know if this isn't the issue.

    (1) have you tried setting your speakers upwards through the speaker configuration window?

Method 1: If this isn't the case, I suggest the steps to configure your speakers and check if you are able to select the surround speakers in the speaker configuration window.
    Set up your speakers
To set up your speakers for the best sound, follow these steps:

    (a) Open Audio devices and sound themes by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then clicking sound.
    (b) click on the playback tab, select speakers, and then click Configure.
    (c) under Audio channels, select which speakers are present in your speaker configuration, and then click Test. You should hear a tone play in each speaker. Click next and follow the instructions to continue the Setup process.

Method 2: If you have no option to select the option of surround speakers in the speaker configuration window, then it seems that you don't have compatible drivers for surround speakers set up on the Windows 7 computer. So, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer to obtain compatible drivers for the surround speakers.

I hope it helps. If you have problems in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.
  • Satellite Pro L50 - A disconnects from the WiFi every 20 minutes approximately

I searched around on the internet for advice.

I downloaded the latest drivers from toshibas website, I put my power maximum output on Device Manager, and it is not my ISP, as happens at any hotspot wi - fi including familys homes, work, etc..

Please, how I stop my laptop to disconnect every half hour, it disrupts the Skype teleconferencing and downloads.

I am running windows 7 64 bit and it's your laptop brand new I bought a month ago has soon

    > I put my power to the maximum on Device Manager.

I guess you mean the Win 7 Power Management.
Here a nice HowTo on + Win 7 power management +.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm

Here you must concentrate on Wireless Adapter Power Saving Mode settings
There are four energy saving / performance parameters. If your Wi - Fi connection is unstable or slow, try selecting a higher performance tuning.

This must be done for power profile that you use mode battery and sector.
I would also recommend to check different settings of the Wlan router.

Check if your laptop disconnect Wlan which has no security (open) and various parameters of WiFi (WPA/WPA2 AES or TKIP) encryption

I also recommend you update the WLan driver (if possible)

  • Satellite Pro L20 running Vista has the formidable problem code 12

I try to get my L20 to use all cards PCMCIA with Vista, but I get the dreaded 12 code problem.
Y at - it a patch for this problem? I know some Toshiba must have a Vista BIOS works correctly, but there doesn't seem to be one for the L20.

P.S. cards will work perfectly under XP. Server 2008 also has the same problem.

You should maybe contact the card manufacturer and ask for help. They are responsible for the functionality of the card and not the manufacturer of the laptop.
They write clearly that it should work with Vista. So contact them and ask for help.
They should have enough experience with the configuration and the use of own products.

Also, I assume that they tested the functionality of the map before they we offered on the market.

Hi, have a Satellite Pro L20. LED on the front of the laptop shows full battery (LED is green), "feed icon" on the screen shows the battery with virtually no load (16%), unit said "Recharge" but "%" battery does not increase.
When I remove the charger, battery falls '&' as the battery discharges. All clever people out there with any ideas?

    Hey,.

If you already tried different batteries, it appears to be a malfunction of the loading/control unit on the motherboard itself.

I think this case you can do anything and you need professional help of an authorized service provider. Guys can check your laptop and solve this problem.
