Satellite Pro L300-152 - unable to connect to TV, projector or a external monitor

Hello
Peuvent some please help?

I bought a Satellite Pro L300-152, model without PSLB1E-01R015EN with Vista 32 bit a few months ago to replace an old Toshiba laptop not.

The problem I have is that I can't connect external devices such as TV, projector, or a monitor.
I used another laptop in the past with my TV and projector and have had no problems at all. I connected via the VGA port, as it is the only port with the exception of USB. Using a VGA cable, I tried all the settings that I have used in the past, but with no joy.
I did the setting in the display settings and the FN + F5, but nothing comes up on the external screens except no signal.

I tried to solve this problem for months and need help, please.

Thank you
Karl

Strange what s... what version of BIOS is installed on your laptop?
As much as I know at this time the European Toshiba page provides the version of 1, 50 - WIN update of the BIOS for this model of laptop.

    Celeron 560 2.13 GHz

Can someone tell me what CPU I can pass safely, I use it in a cool environment and care about a few 100 mhz more of her.

    Thank you for your support

Before you start to discuss CPU upgrade, check it please this Toshiba document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

My personal opinion is that upgrading the CPU won't help much and you will not realize a difference in performance for laptop. In my opinion need more RAM or SSD better and faster. This better and better performance some CPU with 100 mhz dating more than one.

  • Satellite Pro L300-152 lose the power connector - how to disassemble it?

I have a Satellite Pro L300 - 152 unit, which is out of warranty.
I have a bad power connector, it has been pushed back and be dislodged from his seat or brocken cradel is within the computer.

I am trying to remove the back to see if the power connector can be repaired or remains in its cradle.
I removed all the screws and all devices, but can not get it off the computer.

There seems to be something with the keyboard, which I took.

    Can you help me?

To fix the power connector the whole notebook must be disassembled and you must have access to the motherboard. Disassembly procedure is not complicated if you have maintenance manuals and instructions.
To have full access to the motherboard, you must remove all the screws from the underside and also all the screws under the keyboard. You will then be able to separate the notebooks and disassemble the upper.

Tell me exactly what you have removed so far?

  • Satellite Pro L300 - may not always connect to the same strong connection router

I currently have a Satellite Pro L300-155. At work, the WIFI signal is strong everywhere where I am in the building because we have 2 WIFI connections. However, I can connect okay in 1 room but if I just go in the other room, I'm unable to connect - and the connection is still strong. This also happens intermittently at home.
Is it of diagnostics that I can run on the Toshiba to test wifi?

Where can I find what chip it is? Where is the wifi location - on a motherboard, etc?
Can it be replaced and where I could quote from?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi cooky44,

In my opinion, you should update the routers firmware and update your WLAN driver.

Furthermore, I have created an interesting document on improvements to WLAN connection:

    Hello

I just bought a new Satellite Pro L50 - B and it is unable to connect to the wifi of my company 5 GHz network. It connects well to the 2.4 GHz network, but poor performance on network thaat there.

Is it possible to get the L50 - B to work in the 5 GHz range?

    Thank you

    Martin

    Frequency of 5 GHz is supported by 802.11 A and 802.11 N
But if the WLan module is not compatible 802.11 A, then the standard 802.11 N will operate at 2.4 Ghz

The question is: what are the standards WLan are supported by the integrated WLan module?

    Which module WLan is integrated?

Generally avoid any problem to use WLAN on your laptop. Everything you need to do is activate the wireless card, Windows option to see all available wireless and connect to your favorite WLAN networks.

For external LCD, monitors, you must set the screen refresh rate of 60 Hz.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - 152 Driver Update problems.

Hi, I'm new to all this and just about managed to find my way to this Web site. I bought a Satellite as above new brand of PC World Business yesterday 22/10/08.
I had horrible problems to install several updates of Windows that I finally had to install one by one with a re-boot after each update 'Important '.

I took the laptop with Toshiba and now I'm using Tempro I 5 alerts telling me to install updates various...

Contact the manufacturer of your system for more information on formware updates available for this drive "."

I just bought a laptop, I didn't volunteer to become a technical wizz.
It feels like I'm doing a work of Toshiba troubleshooting here, and I don't know what I'm doing. Can someone help me?
    Thanks, Guy

    Hey Buddy

To be honest I don t understand why you react so panicly

You have a laptop that has a pre-installed Vista OS.
The fact is that this OS Vista was preinstalled on your laptop computer and for several days/weeks, Microsoft has published a large number of updates and so Vista downloaded and installed updates. But don t wonder about other updates. From time to time you will receive these patches! This is a common behavior of the OS.

    With regard to the Tempro tool;
This tool informs you about new drivers available, tools or utilities on the Toshiba page.
To be honest I wouldn t use it. Usually, it's really not important what and when a pilot a tool was released if your laptop runs without problem. I'm always this recommendation; never change a running system.

Hope I could make a clarification.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro L300-152 and the task bar freezing

    Hello

The taskbar seems to freeze whenever I use my laptop. I try to click on something like the volume and it freezes, I then gives me the option to restart windows Explorer, close windows Explorer, or waiting for the program to respond. Once it has rebooted the icons for volume and Wi - Fi connection disappear from the lower right corner and are not available through any other means.

There seems to be no consistency to this incident - it happens when programs are running or not, regardless of how many times I use the laptop either hours or minutes, and there is no delay between the taskbar being insensitive (sometimes it doesn't freeze again, sometimes it freezes just after the restart). I did virus, spyware/adware/mallware scans, clean my laptop, and it had made no difference.

All I have this problem or knows what could be causing it and how it can be stopped? Any suggestions would be welcome thanks

    Kind regards.

    Hello

Googling around you will find many forums where people write about this problem of gel. It is obviously related to Microsoft and that there must be a few patches.
I also found the link to a fix that should help you.
Visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932406/en-us and if this can help you.

Please let us know if this will help.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - what order of connection is fair?

Some people recommend to plug the adapter into the wall outlet before connecting the laptop. They believe that the removal of the load (ie. the laptop) to the adapter reduces inrush current. They also believe that this protects the laptop from any power surge caused by the starting currents.

Why? Because like me, many people have noticed sparks when it connects the adapter to the wall outlet or the receptacle, IE. Sparks jump between the pins of the plug and the wall socket. An explanation that I found is this:

"Most of these supplies is called"switching"supplies. Basically, they apply the voltage to the output and turn it off very quickly when desired pressure is reached. This type of operation tends to distort the waveform of the incoming line. (Harmonics).
To minimize this effect, a capacitor is placed in the entrance. If initially energized (connected) a capacitor is basically a short dead. This causes a huge inrush current of current for a VERY short period. So the spark. "

The Toshiba manual says first connect the adapter to the laptop, then plug the adapter into the wall outlet.

This procedure is recommended for security reasons, IE. fears that a person will get a shock when you plug the adapter into the laptop? Because that first connect the laptop eliminates any risk of this power connector, and then plug in the wall socket is a common experience that people learn very early to be careful with.

So is it only for purposes of security, or are there technical reasons for laptop to do first and then taken?

Is it possible to plug in the wall outlet first and then the laptop gives better protection to the electronics of the laptop?

    Concerning

First I put t understand why you create double threads?
You have already started this discussion here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=148523

Double son not permitted! If you follow old thread.

    With regard to your question;
I first connect the adapter to the laptop, and then I plug the AC adapter into a wall socket cable as described in the user manual.

But usually it s no matter where you ordered it will connect
Sometimes I unplug the computer laptop power adapter and use it only with the battery but the adapter remains connected to the wall outlet

  • Satellite Pro L300: Could not establish connection using WPA / WPA2-PSK

    Hello

I have a Netgear FVG318 router with the new firmware and problems to connect using WPA-/ WPA2-PSK with Realtek RTL8187B integrated.

With the help of WEP that works. I did a complete restore of Vista and installed SP1 + all Windows updates. No change...

Then I tried using a Netgear USB WLAN Stick WPN111--> the same result, works only WEP.
I rechecked the shared key before!
After that I tried with a HP laptop, wonder... everything works! WEP, WPA / WPA2-PSK works! What do you mean?
I think that there is a software problem in Toshiba-Vista version.

Do you have any idea? The support has not helped me.

    Hello

What you need to do is first of all update the WLan driver and if possible, you should check if the latest BIOS is installed too.
I had similar problem on my A210 and all first I've updated the BIOS, then driver WLan.

This helped to establish the WiFi connection.

    Check it out!

I've had this laptop for about 12 months and a few days ago while trying to connect to the internet, she advised that I was not connected to my router.

I have another laptop, it connects well with wireless and it connects fine using the ethernet cable but wireless!
Especially, when I switch the radio power on/off using the small switch on the front the same symbol rises (the cell phone, red circle with a red slash through it, then the sign of the internet!)

I accidentally deleted the file on my disk 'data' through formatting the drive.
I was told that I needed this folder in the hard drive to create my recovery disk

    This file is now gone.
Is it possible that I can always CREATE the disc or the folder to DOWNLOAD/PURCHASE to use for the recovery process to create the disc?

Without the recovery folder, you will not be able to create the Toshiba recovery disc.
Unfortunately, but it looks like you will have to order the recovery DVDs.

Formatting HARD drive was a bad move :(

  • Recovery creator disc error code: 1100 8-48-00000002. Satellite Pro L300-15

    Hi all.

Satellite Pro L300-152 of the Vista 32 SP2.

This laptop was gave me to try to repair (another instance of stolen suicide Vista).
After retrieving the system (no re - install wasn't necessary), I would like to create a disc of recovery for the owner.

However, when I try to run the "Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator", I get an 'Error' window with the following message is displayed "an unexpected error has occurred. Exit this application and start it again. (Error code: 1100 00000002-48-8). Of course restarting the application generates another identical message.
No one knows what could be the cause of this error and how do I create a recovery for this notebook drive.

    Take care of all.

    Mike

    Hello

This error message usually appears because the non compatible CD or DVD.
I think you should first check if there is an ODD firmware update.
On the Toshiba European page driver you might find updates firmware for different CD/DVD drives.

You should check your CD/DVD drive and a compatible firmware is available, then you need to update this
If there is no update firmware, then you must try different discs from different manufacturers to create a recovery disk.
