  We noticed only after the installation of Service Pack 3 on all machines, so I don't know if the problem was present before SP3 has been applied.   Problems could be caused by Win XP SP3. I've read several times that SP3 could be not entirely compatible with drivers or 3rd tools
  So I guess there is a problem of compatibility between the exe and SP3 files.
  By the way; SP3 is not completely released and updated test!

  I installed SP3 for some tests on my old non-Toshiba laptop and my work LAN card didn't so it of really possible that SP3 causes this.
