Satellite Pro L300 - using partition magic

Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 laptop and I would like to make an additional partition next to the C: drive already existing and the hidden partition. I created the recovery discs and I want to use the magic of partition for the partitioning process (no new installation of windows xp). Can someone tell me if using partition magic will have adverse effect on the eventual recovery from disks created?

Thanks in advance

Usually you can do with Windows option in disk management, but can you please tell me something first?

You are using Vista or Windows XP Home edition? I ask this question because if you use Vista preinstalled HARD drive must have already two partitions. Please check in Windows Explorer.

Hidden partition is described as an EISA (WinRE) partition?

Someone could answer my concerns about the use of power cables and to buy once back in the States. for the most part is it safe to use a USA power cable in this laptop bought NZ without breaking something to bits?

When you return to the States, I think that you must travel kit adapter power supply only.
I recommend you consult your dealer and gathering information that it will be the best for you.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - new partition after Exchange of HARD drive sizes

Under 'Vista' with a 120 GB hard drive and needs space.

Bought a 500 GB SATA drive. I'm afraid that the recovery software will set the new drive with a 50-50 Partition. This is the case or it will allocate 50 GB to E: / and the rest to C: /?

As the manual States that if I change the size of the partition the recovery software will not re - install in the future?

    Hello

As I know the Toshiba Recovery disk always allocates 50% disk space for each partition. This means that the 500 GB drive you have two partitions with ~ 250 GB of disk space on each partition.
If not or you want to change something, you can use the Windows disk management tool:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7101OB0006R01.htm

I think the manual means that you can use t more the procedure for recovery of HARD disk if you change the size of the partition.
But with the Toshiba disk recovery you are on the safe side and so you can always restore the factory settings every time. :)

  • Satellite Pro L300 - which improved after the BIOS update

    Hello users,.

I just finished an update of the BIOS on Satellite Pro L300 using Updater Insyde Bios. I tried the Toshiba site to see what's new or what has improved since the update my bios 1.7version v2.2. But there is no search results. I also went to the site Web Insyde, but neither have they put up what has changed or improved?

Is there a documentation or information which could help me to know how my laptop has improved or better after the update of the BIOS and what has changed since my update of the BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hello

I assume you mean a changelog of the BIOS. Well, normally this document is placed on the Toshiba page where you can download the BIOS update.

If you can't find such a t changelog, there is no available changelog. All that s!

In addition the BIOS update should be performed only if it of really necessary. This means that if everything works fine, I don't see a reason to update because this update is a bit risky.

  • Question about the partitions on satellite Pro L300-164

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 and it came with vista on the 1 74 GB partition and a data partition 73 GB but it has a folder called HARD drive recovery, but I want Vista to all of the 140 gb and have the recovery partition on a small partition of 4 GB for HARD drive recovery.

Is this possible without mucking up the HARD drive recovery?

No, is not possible, but that you can and should do is create recovery DVDs.
After doing this, you can remove this folder and organize partition how you want it to be.
Remember that you will lose the ability to install the operating system from the disk using F8 and repair my computer option.

If a problem occurs, you can install Vista using this recovery DVDs.
Please note: after installation of recovery, you will have the same structure divides again and all your saved data will be gone.

  • Failed to retrieve the Satellite Pro L300 laptop using Toshiba Recovery Disk

I have a Satellite Pro L300 Vista I'm trying recover using the recovery disk Toshiba official that the machine is not able to retrieve from the hard drive.

The process gets as much as to start recovery utility and asking to select the language in the utility recovery which I emphasize English and then select next; It moves on the next screen, which is empty and then it just hangs.

    Any suggestions?

You bought your laptop with the Vista version English?
What language is marked before selecting English?

  • Satellite Pro L300-1AQ only to charge the battery while the phone is in use

    I have a Toshiba SP L300-1AQ.

In the last month we started having problems with it quit unexpectedly, even on power outlet.
This morning I used it for about a half hour. When I started the battery level was 39% full, so I plugged it into the outlet. The fire area on the front of the laptop came and taskbar in Windows icon showed it was plugged and load (battery light was orange).

After half an hour, I checked the battery and it was down to 16%. I turned down the brightness of the screen to try to reduce energy consumption, but less than a minute at the level of the battery was down to 15%. The toolbar icon and power lights both still power showing tasks. The power adapter was cold to the touch. I expect that it is hot. It seems to me that the power adapter does not provide enough power to run the laptop and recharge the battery. If the laptop is in sleep mode, the battery may charge.

We need a new power adapter?

    Thank you

    Hello

It's really hard to say what the reason is but first of all, I think its hardware problem and not software related.
Maybe the card mother doesn t charge battery problem more or the AC/DC adapter is defective. So can you test another adapter AC/DC to a friend for example? It would be interesting to know because if an AC/DC adapter works it seems to be a problem with the motherboard.

I don t have Satellite Pro L300, I only Satellite L300 but it works really well and I can t notice a problem with the battery charging. It s all ok again :)

  • Satellite Pro L300 - cannot use the 4 GB memory full

My laptop is Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 model: PSLBDE-003005AR

I upgrade my memory to 4 GB using 2x2gb PC2-5300 667 Mhz memory. When I installed the memory and I turn on my laptop the installation always pop up. When I removed the 2 GB of memory to do only 2 GB I spend on my laptop and it works.

I am using windows Vista premium 32-bit edition. I wonder why I do not work with 4 GB of memory. I installed the memory correctly, but it does not work to 4 GB.

    > Laptop is a Satellite Pro L300 PSLB1A - 01 L 019. Lists of the Toshiba Site the maximum memory 2 GB spec however sheets provided with the laptop shows a maximum of 4 GB of RAM.

    This chipset uses this device?
There are different L300 with different chipsets and different hardware components.
Some L300 would be able to support 4 GB and some are limited to 2 GB of RAM.

So if Toshiba says 2 GB are max so it's good and you will not be able to use 4 GB of RAM.

    Welcome them

  • Update hard drive to the Satellite Pro L300

Have a Satellite Pro L300 with a 120 GB hard drive, running Vista Home, the reader is divided 50-50 and does'nt Vista as to move the partition (Partition Magic does not work)...

So would like to change to a larger HD... Q / I can do this, and how hard is it? even with the recovery of files on the Partition and if I bought the Toshiba recovery disks, gruff, when the player is changed discs would not reconise the largest disk that I discovered in the past using Norton Ghost.

Upgrading the hard drive doesn't have to be the problem.
HARD drive is placed in the lower corner under the HARD drive cover. HARD drive cover is fixed by two screws. Remove the screw, then the HARD drive cover. Please do it gently. After having this deletion drive by pulling on the tab kit attached to the pack, following the direction of the arrows.

According to the specifications of the laptop you need SATA HDD and it can be upgraded up to 500 GB.
After upgrade the disk HARD use recovery DVD for installation of operating system.

    Any other questions? ;)

  • No driver audio for Satellite Pro L300 - Vista in function

    Hello world

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300, I have a system dual boot Vista - Ubuntu.
I have problems with ubuntu - after about 6 hours to get etc wireless keyboard shortcuts to work.

So I deleted the Ubuntu partition.
I log back on Vista (no dual boot now), everything is fine with Vista except that it says there is no audio driver.
So I get my drive recovery off load a fresh Vista on the same problems.

Does anyone think they can help?
    Blake was soon.

    Hello

You mean you used the recovery disc Vista Toshiba and redefine the laptop to factory settings, but the sound is still not available?

    Hmm. This strange boyfriend
Check Device Manager and remove the sound card in the list of devices.
Restart the computer, and then reinstall the audio driver that is on the page of the Toshiba driver.

Check it out and please inform us of the results

  • Installing XP on Satellite Pro L300

I already did some research and came across this thread
    [t 26040]
    who has some interesting information.

However, it is believed it I don't format the HARD drive after using the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Manager.
How am I to install XP on the computer and wipe Vista in the process even if I can't format the drive?

If I do not format the drive I find wih vista still be there while I install XP. I received a bunch of laptops to the school, I work to untangle and install programs, etc, however that was purchased for me is machines with Vista basic which is bloody useless.
    I have the machine's Satellite Pro L300.

A clearer explanation of what to do would be really convenient.
Also, in addition to the driver manager, do I need specific drivers for the HARD disk?
I can't find anything like this in the pages of pilots for the L300 Toshiba.
    Thank you

    Roy

Well, the XP installation is very easy.
Some forum posts describe this procedure too.

You read that the HARD drive should t be formatted after including the SATA driver. This is right. This means that you shouldn't t change all partitions and must format the C partition prior to installing XP.
But you can easily install the XP on the same partition as Vista. The new facility will replace the Vista operating system and installation of XP would go you smoothly.

The second possibility is to integrate the SATA driver in the OS XP using nLite as already mentioned above.
nLite would create a new XP CD and would include the SATA driver.
Then, you would be able to begin the Xp installation using the new CD and format the HARD drive and create or delete partitions.

    Easy ;)

  • Satellite Pro L300 will not start - cannot get into the BIOS

    Dear,

I got a satellite Pro L300, width a HARD drive partitioned, with Win XP installed C and D with Windows 7 installed, the problem is the following:

Days when I turned on my laptop, the OS splash screen appears, stop boot on Toshiba logo process.
In addition, I can't enter the BIOS with the F2 key or the Boot Manager by using the F12 key.

    Help, please.

    > stop boot on Toshiba logo process
This means that the laptop can not pass the POST (power on self test) properly and it would mean that a hardware problem has been detected on the motherboard.

Remove one of the modules RAM (check both) and try to turn on using a single module of RAM.
It is possible that one of the RAM modules is defective

It would also be possible that the motherboard is malfunctioning, as you can see, it is hard to say what role could be wrong, but what looks like a serious hardware failure

  • Satellite Pro L300 - USB card reader does not support the 64 GB

HI I have a Satellite Pro L300 under Win XP that I want to attach a USB card reader. I find that I can not read the 64 GB cards. The error is that the card is not formatted. All other cards read correctly. I can place this card reader in my desktop running Win 10 and it works correctly and reads the 64 GB cards. This seems to indicate that the USB card reader works properly, and perhaps that the problem lies in the USB on the Toshiba drivers. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for this. I've just updated the BIOS but no improvement. Thank you

  • Satellite Pro L300 keeps closing

I have a series of satellite Pro L300 running Windows Vista Business and have problems with him closing by itself without known reason, then it restarts only sometimes.

    The startup repair does nothing.

    Hello

I think it might be related to high temperatures.

Have you noticed a hot air coming from vents?

Usually the laptop stops automatically to avoid that the pieces of equipment against damage.

So you need to check if the vents are clogged with dust and debris in most cases you can remove it using a jet of compressed air.

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro L300 (PSLB9A - 02L 001). Have'nt after being on the dial for the year last I was wireless (it worked well before that) but am now back on broadband but I don't seem to have any wireless.
Checked the Device Manager and there is a yellow exclamation next to the ethernet controller and it seems there is no pilot, but apart from that, there is no further details. I tried to update the driver but it cannot find the driver on my computer and it will not search the Internet for this.

I tried, but none of the drivers I downloaded seems to work...
At the back of the computer laptop is a sticker - PA3613U-1MPC, I think it's the wifi card that is missing the driver but I can't find a driver for it for the life of me...

You are right. This part number is WLAN Card. I put t know what operating system you use but for download driver Atheros http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads WLAN

    I hope this will help.

What is now with LAN driver? Do you need it too?
In any case, visit the Toshiba support page under http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download and there you should find good LAN driver for your model of laptop.
