  The wireless network adapter does not work...

  First of all, you won't find any WLan entries in the BIOS.
  But you should see the local network card in Device Manager.
  If good WLan driver has been installed, the local network adapter device should appear in devices-> network cards Manager.

  If WLan driver has not been installed properly, you'd still see an entry under network adapters, but it should appear as unknown device or Ethernet controller.

  I just baught my GF a PC Toshiba laptop refurbed for his 21st birthday from a reliable source, it's a Satellite Pro L300.

  I started it until all the setup stuff, me there only to find that the keyboard and the touchpad work not AT ALL.
  The keyboard caps lock key is not even lights up when I press it.
  I downloaded all the latest drivers for EVERYTHING Inc. the touchpad, it makes no difference.

  I'm quickly running out of ideas and come to accept the fact that the keyboard and the touchpad is maybe defective and therefore evil must give my GF a defective laptop for Denise 21st, not happy :(

  Recently, my laptop has been infected with malware so I reformatted. I didn't know that at the time where I loaded it XP instead of Vista by using the plant upwards when I reinstalled Vista I lost my wireless feature.

  As a shortcut, I used an old belkin wireless usb adapter to go online, so I could update the drivers etc (all courses realtek etc.). Now that all the drivers are updated, I'm always wireless unless the usb adapter is plugged. When unplugged and try to access it online, I'm unable to see my wireless network I have just connected to and when you click on diagnose the following appears "install wireless networking equipment and verify that the correct drivers are loaded. When I go into Device Manager, there is no yellow element.

In the end, nothing will work, and your only option is to reinstall Windows because you are not able to remove all of these drivers. If you install or update a driver you really should know what you're doing!

  I recently install a new wireless network and a new laptop.

  The wireless access Point is a Netgear WG102.

  Wireless laptop card is a Realtek RTL8187B.

  OS: Windows XP SP3.

  Everything connected correctly the first time and was allowed for the first days but it has stopped working. When the laptop was switched on it would not automatically connect to the access point.

  The WiFi card is optional on the Satellite Pro 2100.

  I have a dual boot with XP and Win7 Pro.

  If I install the wireless driver from the download on XP site, no problem.

  I tried the same procedure using the download wireless driver on the partition Win7 using a) driver XP b) driver Vista & c) the Vista driver in compatibility mode. Nothing worked and it is even not a yellow exclamation in Device Manager, so the wireless card point don't has not recognized at all.

  The entry in Device Manager is right and so must be included in Windows XP Home edition.
  This old model of laptop is not supported for Win7 and on the download section Toshiba WLAN I cant find driver for Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 WIRELESS network card.
